Web hosting industry event to include keynote from one of Microsoft’s cloud services experts on the evolution of this new market and the latest technologies.

Crystal Lake, IL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/19/2008 -- Interjuncture Corp. today announced that Mark Rogers, Director of Cloud Services at Microsoft Corp., will deliver one of the keynote addresses at the upcoming HostingCon 2008 tradeshow and conference. HostingCon 2008 will be held July 28-30, 2008 at the historic Navy Pier in Chicago, Illinois.

The emergence of the Web as a business and consumer platform presents many new possibilities for the hosting industry, as well as a new set of challenges. While hosted services providers are rightly concerned with a new competitive landscape that includes Microsoft and others, cloud services hold the key to a bright future. Rogers spends his time talking to the industry about the choice between on-premise software and cloud services, and the important factors to consider when determining and investing in models for software and services.

"Hosting providers are contemplating the challenges and opportunities cloud computing represents," Rogers said. "At HostingCon 2008, I look forward to sharing the exciting technology developments taking place, and initiating a dialogue about the potential concerns and opportunities for hosting service providers."

In addition to Rogers' keynote address, HostingCon 2008's conference program will contain a number of sessions discussing cloud computing and its impact on hosted services providers. Attendees will be able to learn how to help their customers feel comfortable with cloud services, how software as a service and open source software work together and how to employ virtualization in your infrastructure.

"HostingCon 2008 will be a great place to learn about how cloud services will impact your hosted services business and how you can take advantage of those trends," said George A. Roberts IV, Executive Director of HostingCon 2008. "It will also be a wonderful opportunity to network with others in the industry and get their thoughts and ideas on how they're transforming their businesses to thrive in a cloud services future."

WhiteHat Inc. selected to compete in WOW's Iron Chef of Information Security at HostingCon 2006 Las Vegas

Security Professionals Compete on the Show Floor to Demonstrate Information Security Expertise

Aurora, IL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/06/2006 -- The World Organization of Webmasters (WOW) is pleased to announce that WhiteHat Inc. has been selected by WOW's three person security selection team committee to compete in WOW's Iron Chef of Information Security Challenge taking place at HostingCon 2006 on Tuesday July 18, 2006 at the Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, NV.

Tom Slodichak, WhiteHat's Chief Security Officer stated, "By demonstrating the process of a web security assessment, web development professionals gain an appreciation for what the common mistakes are and what typical findings are. They learn what to look for, and what to watch out for. If a single developer takes away that understanding and avoids a single website compromise, then our effort is certainly worthwhile.

"As web security assessment professionals, we would rather find a properly secured web application than advise a client to take their insecure site down for repairs," Slodichak added.

Rosaleen Citron, WhiteHat's CEO stated, "Websites are critical customer service portals, often harboring personal, financial and health databases. The current governance and legislative environment is leading the web developer's client to write security and privacy requirements into their contracts. The WOW Iron Chef Security event showcases the knowledge to assist in meeting that regulatory challenge."

Teams will be judged by a panel of experts selected from the Information Security and hosting community. This is an interactive development session with the industry's best security professionals. The format will combine the spectacle of performance art with the entertainment value of a live high pressure-sporting event.

About WOW

World Organization of Webmasters is a non-profit professional association dedicated to the support of individuals and organizations who create, manage or market web sites. WOW provides education as well as certification, technical, employment and member advantage services to thousands of aspiring and practicing web professionals worldwide.

WOW Iron Chef of Information Security Challenge at HostingCon 2006 - Call for Participation!

Aurora, IL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/04/2006 -- The World Organization of Webmasters and HostingCon 2006 have issued a call for participation regarding WOW's Iron Chef of Information Security Contest to be held on July 18, 2006 on the exhibit floor of the HostingCon 2006 Conference and Tradeshow. HostingCon 2006 will take place July 17-19, 2006 at The Mirage Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Calling all Web Administrators, Security Specialists and Network Engineers!

This event will challenge Web Administrators and Network and Security Specialists to evaluate and fix the security vulnerabilities present in an Internet DMZ architecture.

The event will occur live during the HostingCon 2006 conference and give the audience a first-hand look at how security professionals perform their jobs. The competition will be a head-to-head format with each team competing against the clock and the other teams.

Who Will Reign Supreme?

Contestants will submit two person teams who will identify and fix security problems in a pre-configured network and server architecture. The event will last a full day with the following stages and schedule:

* 11:00am - Start – Teams gain access to the architecture
* 11:30am – 3:00 pm – Analysis and Fix – Teams assess the architecture, identify security problems, and fix security problems
* 3:00 pm – 4:30 pm – Presentation – Each team will present the security problems they found and how they corrected the problem
* 4:30 pm – 5:00 pm – Judgment – A panel of judges will analyze the results using agreed upon criterion and determine a winner
* 5:00 pm – Winner announced

"This is a one of a kind event that will allow the best and brightest in infrastructure security to show off their talents," said George A. Roberts IV, Executive Director of HostingCon 2006. "We're extremely pleased to be able to partner with WOW to bring the Iron Chef of Information Security to HostingCon 2006."

Making the Grade

The teams will have no knowledge of the exact architecture used prior to the contest. The DMZ architecture will have known security vulnerabilities. Each of the vulnerabilities will be assigned a point value based on the degree of difficulty. Teams will register vulnerabilities as they find them with the judges, and a running point total will be displayed showing each teams progress. A bonus will be awarded to the team that finds each unique vulnerability first. However, technical points alone will not determine a winner. Participants will be required to demonstrate their findings and their communications skills in front of an audience consisting of a panel of esteemed judges hand selected by WOW, the press and an audience of conference and exhibit attendees.

Future of Hosting Industry to be Revealed at HostingCon 2006

Keynote Addresses and Panel to Discuss Where the Industry is Headed; Top IT Thinker to Talk About the Industry's Place in IT

Aurora, IL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/07/2006 -- As companies and individuals continue to expand their use of hosting services and hosted applications, hosting providers have new opportunities to provide valuable services to their customers. HostingCon 2006 will feature three keynotes that will expose the trends in the hosting industry, what successful hosting providers are doing to succeed, and how the hosting industry fits into mainstream IT.

The opening keynote on Monday, July 17, 2006 at 2:00pm will be delivered by one of the premier communicators in the information technology industry, Thornton May, Executive Director and Dean at the IT Leadership Academy. "Understanding and Connecting with the Future Computational Mainstream" will take attendees inside the minds of mainstream IT leaders to learn their expectations of their strategic partners. Mainstream IT leaders have renewed interest in hosted services and hosting companies no longer sit on the periphery of IT. Mr. May will blueprint what this integrated future will bring.

"Thornton May is a category-defying thinker about all things related to information technology, leadership and communications. He is a brilliant thinker, marvelous communicator, consultant and teacher. He single-handedly shepherds insights into the brains of the country's top CIOs, who collectively owe him an unrepayable debt of gratitude," says Andrew Zolli, in-house Futurist at Popular Science Magazine.

On Tuesday, July 18, 2006 at 10:00am, four CEOs of successful hosting companies will gather for the panel "Lessons from the Trenches - What Works NOW," moderated by technology attorney David Snead. Panelists for this keynote are Ian Andrusyk, President and CEO of FastServers.Net; Lou Honick, CEO of HostMySite.com; Robert Marsh, CEO of EV1Servers; and Jeffrey Stibel, President and CEO of Interland. Learn how to create products customers want from CEOs who have successfully launched new brands, turned companies around and quick started new products. Each panelist will share real world examples of how they beat expectations in the hosting market for 2005, and how they plan to continue to succeed.

The final keynote, "What the Other Analysts Won't Tell You About the Hosting Industry," will be delivered by industry analyst Andrew Schroepfer, President of Tier1 Research. Many analysts realize that the sector is undergoing a transformation, but few are willing to admit it and detail the strategies and steps specific firms are taking to ensure leadership when we come through the tunnel. Most know Mr. Schroepfer has a positive overall outlook for the sector, but to find out why and which segments and companies are best positioned, this is a must see event. Not only will you hear insights to succeed amidst this sea of change, the presentation will detail what tomorrow's landscape might look like unless others challenge some of the new leadership class.

Keynote addresses and panels are open to all participants of HostingCon 2006. Registration for HostingCon 2006 is now available at the HostingCon 2006 website (http://www.hostingcon.com/).
The easy@ service allows hosting providers to focus on their core business instead of fighting spam.

Many hosting providers today use "on box" software solutions such as Spamassassin that eat processor time and require frequent updates. The easy@ managed antispam system acts as a gateway to the hosting provider's mail servers. There are no software installations or updates necessary and the service is completely "hands off" and includes around the clock updates to both antispam and antivirus protection.

Using the easy@ managed antispam service, hosting providers will enjoy the elimination of up to 99% of spam without it ever touching their mail servers. The hosting provider's customers will be pleased too: client side spam blocking will be virtually eliminated, allowing users to access their mail more efficiently and without the need for challenge and response systems.

The easy@ managed antispam service is available now for $19.95 per month per mail server for up to 500,000 messages. There are no per domain or per user fees -- all easy@ accounts are for unlimited domains and users on each mail server.
