Italian-American Actor Gianlorenzo Albertini Gets the Girl in New Local Ad Spot

A television commercial for a shoe repair shop in Durham, North Carolina, features young Italian -American actor Gianlorenzo Albertini, who gets the girl—along with his pair of “like new” shoes.

Durham, NC -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/12/2016 -- When meeting the girl of your dreams, don't get tripped up by old shoes. That's the theme of a new television spot featuring Italian-American actor Gianlorenzo Albertini, cast as the gently humorous romantic lead in the commercial for Wyatt and Dad Shoe Repair Specialists in Durham, North Carolina.

As Skip, Albertini is strategically positioned when Tania Serrano (as the girl of his dreams) falls for him—literally—at a backyard barbecue. A "wardrobe malfunction"—in the form of a dilapidated pair of dancing shoes—costs Albertini the chance to catch the woman he's interested in. Instead, he has to watch her tumble into the arms of another.

To the rescue come the shoe repair experts at Wyatt and Dad Shoe Repair Specialists. Their 20 years of experience repairing and resoling shoes allow Skip to dance his way to a happy ending with his new lady friend.

The commercial was shot in Los Angeles by director Nick Wyatt—son of Wyatt and Dad owner Rick Wyatt—with cinematography by Aric Coppola. "Lorenzo's effortless likability and dedication to his craft made working with him a distinct pleasure," said the director. "That doesn't come around all too often in this industry." Nick and Albertini had originally met on a Los Angeles film set where they were both working. When it came time to write and cast a television spot for his family business, Albertini was Nick Wyatt's first choice for the lead character.

Albertini enjoyed playing a romantic lead, and also enjoyed acting in a TV spot in which human beings are the focus. "Many times in a commercial shoot, the product is really the star," says the actor. "For example, a vodka bottle might be the 'lead character' in a shoot. In this instance, we were portraying the benefits of the shoe repair service to our characters."

The actor continues, "This was much more of a comedic role than I've played in any of my other projects this year—naturalistic, but still comic. We wanted to make the acting more real and relatable to the viewers."

The spot, "A Little Backyard BBQ," will be released in two lengths—one minute, and thirty seconds—and is expected to air on local television in the Raleigh/Durham area starting in June.

In addition to this commercial, the actor has several film and stage projects in the works in 2016, including "One: A Hip-Hop Musical," which will receive its first full staging in Los Angeles, and the action thriller feature film "Bloody Hands," which is scheduled for release this December.

Italian Actor Gianlorenzo Albertini Calls on Middleweight Boxing Background to Create "Fight Club" Character in Upcoming Feature Film "Bloody Hands"

The actor, better known for his intellectual performances and musical talent, focuses on the physical in a stunt-heavy performance.

Los Angeles, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/11/2016 -- Italian actor Gianlorenzo Albertini, cast in a supporting role, "Lin," in the upcoming feature film "Bloody Hands," relied on his boxing experience to help create his role as a fighter in an underground fight club. A former professional middleweight boxer in his native Italy, Albertini also called on his stunt training to help the audience feel each jab.

"Bloody Hands"—directed and produced by Jaden Hwang with a screenplay by George McGrath—stars Klement Tinaj as Leo Rossmore, a former fighter searching for his missing wife in the black-market world of unsanctioned street fighting. The film also features "Straight Outta Compton" star Orlando Brown as Detective Brown. Albertini plays a supporting role in a violent scene that takes place in the fight club where Rossmore is looking for leads in the disappearance of his wife, another detective assigned to investigate several unsavory underworld figures associated with the club.

Albertini earned both an acting credit and a stunt credit for the film. He and a fellow actor, Leandro Simozza, created all the fight sequences (including a brawl between their two characters, "Lin" and "Alex") with the supervision of a stunt coordinator. Says Albertini, "Simozza was great to work with in the underground fighting club scene as well as other few scenes pivotal to the story." The actor continues, "Simozza was very prepared and always willing to discover new acting beats within the scene. That made us a great team of highly skilled stunt performers while still allowing us to be 'in the moment,' making us aware of the nuances and the little details that make up a great performance."

Albertini's experience as a professional boxer added a level of realism that had a surprising impact on his fellow performers. "During the fighting scene in the production studios," the actor recounts, "I noticed that the crowd—both fighters and spectators—were entirely into the scene. Everyone was so exited, and so full of adrenaline, it was as if they were watching a real fight. As an actor I find that amazing—you can really feed off the energy in the room, and use it in your performance."

Currently in post-production, the action thriller "Bloody Hands" is scheduled for release in December of 2016. The film is a production of EyeLess Studio Hollywood, Mind!Control Entertainment and Visionary Eye Entertainment.

Italian Actor Gianlorenzo Albertini Cast in First Fully-Staged Production of Walter Robinson's "ONE: The Hip Hop Dance Musical"

Gianlorenzo Albertini will act, sing and dance in the Los Angeles premier of "ONE: The Hip Hop Dance Musical," the re-imagined production of Walter Robinson's 1999 gospel opera "Moses."

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2016 -- Italian actor Gianlorenzo Albertini was in the right place at the right time. A "triple threat," Albertini's acting, singing and dancing chops caught the eye of the producer of a major hip-hop opera that has been over sixteen years in the making, landing Albertini a part in the first fully-staged production of "ONE: The Hip Hop Dance Musical," by Walter Robinson, scheduled to premier in Los Angeles in the summer of 2016.

The retelling of the story of Exodus began as "Moses," a gospel opera first performed in Boston in 1999. The piece was performed in a concert or workshop setting several times over the past twenty years. For the past several months, Robinson has been work-shopping the piece in the Philippines with support of a three-year grant from Steven Spielberg's Righteous Persons Foundation.

"I feel incredibly thankful and honored for being able to be a part of this project," says Albertini. "It is very exiting because Walter is the creator and writer, and I was overwhelmed to find out that this was the first fully realized production. I felt compelled to start working with Walter, especially after I read the script. It explores the innocence of the human condition through the seduction of money, drugs and power."

"I believe God is Love," says the young actor, who is about to start two months of rehearsals for the production. "'ONE' translates various passages of the Bible with a modern and artistic approach that carries along the core of the musical. I appreciate that the musical translates the Bible passages in a modern way that is easily accessible by the young people who are target audience of the play."

This isn't the first time producers and directors have recognized Albertini's musical gifts. A conservatory-trained classical guitar player, Albertini also lent his composition and performance skills to his own award-winning short film, "Immortality In Blue," an exploration of Pablo Picasso's "Blue Period." Albertini's guitar performances were also captured along with his performance in the short film "Sound of Silence," released in 2015.

Italian Actor Gianlorenzo Albertini's Struggle with Loss Inspires Award-Winning Short Film "Immortality in Blue," an Exploration of Pablo Picasso's "Blue Period"

The death of Catalan artist Carlos Casagemas devastated his close friend Pablo Picasso, yet also inspired many of the famed modernist's most iconic works. Italian actor Gianlorenzo Albertini explores the same themes of mortality and inspiration in his short film, "Immortality in Blue," which was inspired by his own loss.

Los Angeles, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/15/2016 -- Pablo Picasso was only twenty years old when he learned of the suicide of his close friend and fellow young painter Carlos Casagemas in February of 1901. Though devastated by his friend's death, the loss inspired Picasso's first recognized "movement" as a mature artist, his "Blue Period."

In the autumn of 2013, young Italian actor Gianlorenzo Albertini was in the middle of a cross-country move from New York City to Los Angeles when he learned that his grandmother lay dying back home in Naples. "I couldn't make it back in time to say goodbye," he says, with emotion. "It was too sudden." His last glimpse of his grandmother was via a Skype connection from her deathbed.

Albertini, who was just 21 at the time, was devastated. Like Picasso before him, the young actor was inspired to explore loss and parting. But instead of oil paints, Albertini chose the medium of film to express his feelings and bring his vision to life—and his short film "Immortality In Blue" was born.

The film features Albertini as Picasso and Medhi Dumartin as Casagemas. The multi-talented Albertini also produced the film, in addition to composing and performing the Catalan-influenced classical guitar score.

"This particular story inspired me because I find Picasso's work so compelling," says Albertini. "I realize as an artist the impact a deeply-felt loss can have on your artistic outlook, and how it can affect your work. When I had the flash of inspiration to make 'Immortality In Blue,' I saw it fully realized in my mind. It is a reflection of my own personal contemplation of life and death and what's beyond it, and what it means to me as a man, and how loss and redemption affects me as an artist."

The film included several parallels between Picasso's and Albertini's experiences, perhaps most movingly when Albertini, as Picasso, pleads, "Why didn't you wait for me? I promise, I would have come!"

"Working with Gianlorenzo on Immortality In Blue was quite the treat," said First Assistant Director Randy Stanley. "Not only the caliber of work that we were executing...This project was unique, as Gianlorenzo wore the hats of both lead actor and producer. Seeing him work as a producer was very encouraging. He took so much time and energy to select his crew and he left no stone unturned in every detail of production."
