Containers Converted to Fire Training Modules: Supplier Containental Comments

Surrey, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/24/2016 -- Providers of new and used shipping and storage containers Containental has recently supplied a number of containers to the French fire authorities via its sister company Pacific Containers which are located in Le Havre France.

Once landed with cargo, the standard shipping containers are converted into eight room houses, complete with internal and external doors and internal steel stairways manufactured from steel. The wooden floors are completely removed and in turn replaced with firebrick style floors that are resistant to high temperatures. After this, the 20' and 40' containers are relocated to a fire brigade training site.

Once on the training site, equipment which is used to generate heat and smoke is installed inside the containers in order to simulate real fires, and fire personnel fully equipped with flame retardant clothing and breathing apparatus enter to conduct their training.

Both in France and overseas this fire crew training method has not only proved to be highly successful but also the most cost effective method of training fire crews in a manner that allows the exercise to be repeated multiple times before the container houses require replacing.

A spokesperson from Containental was keen to comment saying, "Here at Containental we are delighted to have been able to assist in the supply of containers for such a great cause, and hope that through our efforts, fire crews are able to receive the utmost superior training possible."

Plans for Ashfield Shipping Container Flats Awaiting Approval: Containental Comments

Surrey, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/22/2016 -- If plans are approved cheap accommodation could soon be up for grabs in Kirkby, in the form of steel shipping container flats. Planning permission for the area where the shipping container homes are proposed to be is currently for two semi-detached houses; however Japanese knotweed has scared off all investors – making this a likely opportunity.

The plan is to covert cost-effective cargo containers into six small apartments, each completed with roof terraces and encompassing decorative cladding with attractive glass fronts. Each container flat would be 35 sq. metre and cost as little as £34,167 to complete as opposed to the £117,500 that it could cost to build a semi-detached house. Detailed drawings of the plans are available, showing how the space would be strategically divided into a kitchen, living room, bedroom and a shower room.

A spokesperson from the shipping container company Containental was keen to comment saying, "We really hope that these plans get approved as in recent months we have seen a surge in people purchasing large storage containers from ourselves to make guest accommodation in their gardens, and it would be great to see more people actually choosing container homes as their ultimate living choice."
