Special Issue of National Truckin' Magazine Is Dedicated to Military Family Appreciation Month

Editorial Team Devotes Publication to Men and Women of Service, in Advance of Veterans’ Day in November

Sevierville, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/18/2016 -- With Veterans' Day right around the corner, military veterans young and old will be thanked for their service and their dedication to keeping America safe through parades, solemn celebrations, and displays of affection. Citizens of the United States are indebted to these men and women, who have perished defending the freedoms they hold so dearly. The sacrifices they've made were highlighted in July's issue of National Truckin' Magazine, which was dedicated to military veterans. That special edition was written to bring awareness to the plight of those who served so dutifully, in the hopes that they might be hired within the trucking industry. It is this effort of assimilation back into the civilian lifestyle which the team at National Truckin' Magazine feels so passionately about.

There are currently over 22 million veterans in America, of which an estimated 8% are female. Unfortunately, one in ten of those veterans is currently battling a disability, most often linked to injuries sustained in combat. Even sadder perhaps is the fact that veterans are more likely to become homeless, and many of them report difficulty adjusting to civilian life. One glimmer of hope lies in the trucking industry, an industry known for proudly accepting veterans into the workforce. This issue of the magazine seeks to highlight the commitments made by men and women, both past and present, and applaud them for their roles as leaders in the field of transportation.

National Truckin' Magazine has strong ties to the military, having been found by a veteran of the Marine Corps., Jerry Hayes. He had this to say, "As you can imagine, Veterans' Day is very near and dear to my heart, and each year we do everything we can to help assist with the problems veterans face on a day-to-day basis. We hope that others can realize the benefits of working in the trucking industry. 16 veterans were profiled in our July issue, all professional truck drivers, and their stories were intended to persuade others to join this rewarding industry. This month we wish to feature military soldiers with their loved ones in honor of Military Family Appreciation Month."

National Truckin' Magazine Honors the Rich History of Truckers with Legends Articles

Monthly Articles Detail the Ups and Downs of the Industry and the Roles that Support It

Sevierville, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/07/2016 -- The life of a truck driver is seldom a glamorous one. It's the sort of blue collar job that men and women suit up for each day to keep their families fed, regardless of the long hours, difficult trips, or less-than-pleasant conditions. Truckers are a special breed, forced to spend lengthy spurts of time alone on the open road – and it is their stories, both on the job and off that National Truckin' Magazine seeks to highlight each month in their "Legends" articles. The team at the Tennessee-based publication aim to bring awareness to the stories of these hard-working men and women.

"We really have some fascinating, unique stories to tell in this monthly series, stories that will enthrall readers as well as the children and grandchildren of these truckers – those who directly benefited from the sacrifices they made," expressed Jimmy Hayes, Account Executive with National Truckin' Magazine. "I'm especially proud of the infusion of military veterans into our ranks. It makes you swell with pride to know that you've provided an outlet, a means for them to continue to serve others and support their families.

From telling the stories of the truckers who take to the roads every day to helping others break into the transportation industry, the professionals at National Truckin' Magazine are hard at work supporting this vital industry. In the fabric of the American economy, their dedication to helping the industry grow and be sustained is second to none. As they say, trucking isn't something you do. It's what you love. It's in your blood.
