Sennheiser Digital 6000 Takes the Stage at Super Bowl LIV Halftime Show

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/25/2020 -- Broadcast on Fox to an international televised audience of more than 100 million, this year's Super Bowl Halftime Show was held at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, FL. While the performance itself only lasted approximately 14 minutes, the preparation was immense and technical execution flawless. According to numbers released by Fox network, this year's Halftime Show reached more viewers than the game itself – with a total of 104.1 million tuning in from around the world.

Sennheiser's Digital 6000 wireless system was the microphone of choice for headline performer Shakira as well as her special guest, Bad Bunny, as the two Latin GRAMMY Award® winning artists sang against a perfect Miami cultural backdrop. ATK Audiotek handled the audio design for the pre-game festivities, referee microphones and the Halftime Show for the 23rd Super Bowl in a row.

All hands on deck
Just prior to halftime, there was no shortage of excitement in the game as the Kansas City Chiefs staged a dramatic comeback, tying the game at 10-10. Once the clock ran out after the second quarter, the Halftime Show crew had approximately six minutes to dispatch and assemble the entire stage, located nearby the field's 30-yard line. Antenna systems for the wireless microphones were set up in advance on either sideline prior to the game, along the stadium wall behind the team benches.

"It is not a traditional concert environment where you can put antennas out on the side of the stage where they are relatively close to the performer," observes Gary Trenda, Lead RF Technician for Orlando, FL-based Professional Wireless Systems (PWS). "We deployed antennas on the sidelines and aimed them at where the stage was going to be; then we used an RF-over-fiber system to connect back to the receivers, which were in a rack room under the stands."

For the Halftime Show performance, wireless receivers are usually placed at a further distance than at a typical rock concert, since the Halftime Show stage is temporary and must be disassembled after just 14 minutes. As such, the wireless must perform flawlessly – despite not having the advantage of close proximity to the stage. "In a show like this, reliability is critical," says Trenda. "We've got to pick up the signal at a longer distance, and it really needs to be rock solid."

Sennheiser delivers for millions of fans
For Shakira and Bad Bunny, the RF team deployed four channels of Sennheiser Digital 6000 wireless – three separate mic channels for Shakira, and one for Bad Bunny. Shakira sang several songs through a gold sparkled SKM 6000 handheld transmitter and MD 9235 dynamic cardioid capsule, before being joined onstage by Bad Bunny, who also sang through an SKM 6000 – colored in neon yellow, coupled with a distinctive red MD 9235 capsule.

"This is my second Super Bowl using Sennheiser digital systems, and our experience has been that even in a crowded RF environment, it is a very reliable microphone system," says Trenda. As one would expect, the RF environment at the Super Bowl can be challenging: "In the stadium area alone, there are probably 500 frequencies of mics and IEM-type systems – so we are really looking to zero in on the mics we care about and filter out anything else. This is why we applied 6 MHz cavity tuned filters in front of the Sennheiser receivers. The filters are tuned specifically to the frequencies we were using for that pair of microphones."

With 23 Super Bowl Halftime Shows under their belt, preparation is key for ATK Audiotek. Among many other activities that take place, a site survey is conducted around September in which a crew is dispatched to examine the local RF environment. RF coordination is done by the NFL Event Frequency Coordinators (EFCs). Lead EFC Loren Sherman assigns frequencies for the Halftime Show so every dimension of the performances can be carried out. The crew loads in a week and a half prior to game day, and then crews are allocated time for on-field rehearsals. This year, ATK and PWS ran through full rehearsals of the Halftime Show three times – each time carefully scanning the RF environment to ensure smooth operation.

Support when it counts
On a scale of programming such as the Super Bowl, RF crews inevitably face last minute challenges – in this case, the performers' preference to use aesthetically stylized microphones had to be reconciled with transmitters aligned to the right frequencies. Trenda explains: "We had a blinged out black microphone, one that was painted a metallic red, and another that was blinged out gold — but the transmitters were in a frequency range that we were not able to use at the Super Bowl. So, we called Sennheiser and they were able to send handheld transmitters in a range that was exactly what we needed for the show. We then swapped out the blinged out shells onto entirely different transmitters. The support from Sennheiser was fast and dependable."

Brett Valasek, General Manager of ATK Audiotek, appreciates the quality, reliability and service support Sennheiser provides, adding: "We've done many shows with the Sennheiser Digital 6000, and it is a product we trust," he says. "We were very happy that both Shakira and Bad Bunny were using the Digital 6000s – we are very pleased with its RF strength and audio clarity. With respect to our transmitter frequency challenges, we are very pleased that Sennheiser was able to support us through the entire process. We truly value our relationship with Sennheiser."

Sennheiser Introduces Speakerless Immersive Sound

Continental and Sennheiser Revolutionize Vehicle Audio

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/03/2020 -- - Speakerless 3D immersive audio system by Continental and Sennheiser achieves excellent acoustics by exciting surfaces inside the vehicle to produce sound

- Continental's Ac2ated Sound reduces weight and space by up to 90% in comparison to conventional systems

- AMBEO Mobility technology from Sennheiser immerses passengers in an astoundingly lifelike soundscape

- Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser: "By integrating AMBEO Mobility with Continental's Ac2ated Sound system, the in-car sound experience becomes completely immersive and natural, opening new audio perspectives and realities."

At CES 2020 in Las Vegas (January 7-10, 2020), technology company Continental and audio specialist Sennheiser presented a speakerless audio system for the vehicle interior. The unique system fills the vehicle interior with lifelike immersive sound. The two partners are integrating Sennheiser's patented AMBEO 3D audio technology with Continental's Ac2ated Sound system. Continental's innovative concept abandons conventional speaker technology altogether, exciting select surfaces in the vehicle interior to produce sound. Combined with Sennheiser's AMBEO Mobility, the concept achieves a breathtaking 3D sound reproduction that envelops passengers in an incredibly detailed and vivid soundscape and lets them enjoy their in-car entertainment to the fullest. In comparison to conventional audio systems, Ac2ated Sound enables a reduction of weight and space of up to 90 percent. In this way, the system not only produces the highest audio quality but is also perfectly suited for electric vehicles, where saving space and weight is a high priority.

"For Ac2ated Sound we have brought together the highest levels of expertise in the areas of acoustics, infotainment and vehicle design. In Sennheiser we have found an audio expert who helped us make our pioneering audio system even better," said Helmut Matschi, member of the Executive Board and Head of the business area Vehicle Networking and Information at Continental. "Together, we have developed an audio system that creates premium sound out of nowhere. Additionally, Ac2ated Sound reduces space and weight. At Continental, we call this sustainability that's music to your ears."

"We are delighted to bring our audio expertise and AMBEO Mobility software into the pioneering Ac2ated Sound system from Continental, calibrating and fine-tuning the sound quality to deliver a completely immersive and natural sound experience that opens new audio perspectives and realities," explained Dr. Andreas Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser.

Co-CEO Daniel Sennheiser added: "Our AMBEO immersive audio solutions deliver the ultimate quality in sound capture, processing and playback. Crucially, the ability to enjoy breathtaking immersive sound does not require specific 3D audio sources – AMBEO Mobility's spatialization algorithm can turn any stereo material into an immersive experience. By intelligently analyzing the content, the patented algorithm artistically remixes the sound to provide an emotional experience, transporting the listener into the music."

Transforming the vehicle into an instrumentInspired by the technology of classical string instruments, which use their wooden body as a resonance chamber, specially developed actuators excite specific surfaces in the vehicle interior. The result is an extremely natural sound experience for the occupants, who feel as if they are sitting in a concert hall surrounded by sound. Additionally, in comparison with conventional speaker systems, the audio solution has a much lower weight and significantly reduced box volume. In comparison: With a multitude of components, conventional audio systems weigh up to 40 kilograms (more than 88 pounds). By using already existing surfaces, Ac2ated Sound is distinctly more efficient in saving space. It achieves a reduction between 75 and 90 percent in contrast to existing conventional systems on the market.

At the same time, the invisible audio technology gives vehicle designers and manufacturers the freedom to do more with an automobile's interior, as they no longer need to account for large speaker faces taking up valuable space. With Ac2ated Sound, many components are unnecessary because the surfaces in the vehicle vibrate just like speaker diaphragms. Actuators cause components such as the A-pillar trim, door trim, roof lining and rear shelf to vibrate so that they emit sound in different frequency ranges. Continental and Sennheiser will present their futuristic audio system in a private exhibit at CES 2020, where visitors can experience how the system responds to the challenges for the next generation of vehicles by reducing weight and saving space without sacrificing sound quality.

Continental develops pioneering technologies and services for sustainable and connected mobility of people and their goods. Founded in 1871, the technology company offers safe, efficient, intelligent and affordable solutions for vehicles, machines, traffic and transportation. Continental generated sales of €44.4 billion in 2018 and currently employs more than 240,000 people in 60 countries and markets.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Jeff Touzeau
Email: Click to Email Jeff Touzeau
Web: http://www.sennheiser.com

Sennheiser Digital 6000 Wireless Helps Realize the First 'End to End' Digital Signal Chain for Vocal Mics at the GRAMMY Awards

Over 20 channels of Sennheiser Digital 6000 are deployed in milestone broadcast event, with marquee performances by Lizzo, Blake Shelton, Brandi Carlile and others

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 02/03/2020 -- Broadcast live on January 26th, the 62nd Annual GRAMMY® Awards saw an industry first as Sennheiser's Digital 6000 wireless microphone system helped deliver a completely digital signal path for wireless vocal mics for the first time in the award show's illustrious history. The evening's highlights included captivating performances by Lizzo, Brandi Carlile, Blake Shelton and others as more than 20 channels of Sennheiser Digital 6000 RF were deployed in both production and MC capacities at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In light of an ever-congested RF environment and an unrelenting demand for wireless frequencies, this year's technical deployment was nothing short of a milestone accomplishment. After receiving the microphone signal, each receiver channel of the Sennheiser Digital 6000 wireless was then relayed across a dual redundant Dante network which carried multiple streams of identical multi-channel audio all the way to various digital mixing consoles located throughout the venue.

"This is the first time the GRAMMY Awards has been able to deliver the vocal wireless mics on a completely digital path all the way to every mixing console," observed Jeff Peterson, PA Designer of ATK Audiotek. According to GRAMMY Awards audio coordinator Michael Abbott, by combining a high-quality digital wireless microphone system and a Dante network as a transport protocol, the show has achieved a vastly improved frequency response. "The mixers have commented on how they are able to do less EQ carving in the low-mid frequencies, and the extended high frequency response we are getting with the wireless mics is introducing low pass filtering – which we have not had to do in the past."

Abbott, who has been using Sennheiser systems on the GRAMMY Awards for more than 30 years, specified the Digital 6000 system for all the production and MC microphones at this year's show. "We appreciate the frequency agility of the Digital 6000 in such an RF-intense environment," he says. "This allows us to deploy multiple transmitters and receivers with reliable performance." "The RF on this show is complex to say the least," adds Peterson. "Monitoring, control, and flexibility are the features that help us the most, and we benefit considerably by the Digital 6000's resistance to interference, in addition to its efficient use of bandwidth."

Stephen Vaughn, Coordinator for Soundtronics Wireless, ensures that all the wireless microphones and in-ear monitors work in harmony with each other for the duration of the program. "The Digital 6000 is impressive," he states. "The amount of frequencies I can get in one TV channel is the part that really helps me out in today's environment. Even if you don't have a scope, you can just look at the quality meter on the front of the unit and tell whether or not you are taking on interference or not. Also, the fact that the Digital 6000 transmitters use rechargeable batteries is a key factor for me, since I am tired of dumping hundreds of batteries in the trash. With the 6000, there is none of that: you just recharge them and just reuse them. I am leaving a much greener footprint during these shows and I feel more comfortable using these over disposable batteries."

Lizzo delivers a grand opening with Sennheiser
Lizzo quickly set the tone for the show, opening the GRAMMY Awards by offering a heartfelt remembrance of Kobe Bryant and delivering a riveting medley of "Cuz I Love You" and "Truth Hurts". Singing through a Sennheiser SKM 6000 handheld transmitter coupled with an MD 9235 capsule, the 8-time GRAMMY nominee – who also won the evening's first GRAMMY Award with "Best Pop Solo Performance" – showcased her amazing talent, versatility and charisma, supported by an orchestral ensemble and several ballerinas. Towards the end of the performance, Lizzo's flute – adorned with a Sennheiser SK 6212 wireless mini-bodypack transmitter and an ME 104 lavalier microphone – was lowered by a trapeze as she careened into a breath-taking instrumental solo.

"The SKM 6000 and MD 9235 has been my go-to combination since the D6000 line debuted – the capsule is a perfect fit for Lizzo's powerful vocal," says Brandon Blackwell, FOH for Lizzo. "She is a very strong vocalist and unlike capsules from other manufacturers, the frequency response does not seem to collapse, losing the warmth in the low mid frequencies and the high-end definition." For her flute performances, Blackwell says that going wireless has been liberating: "When I first joined, Lizzo was playing her flute into her vocal microphone on a stand. Now, with the SK 6212 transmitter, she can play when and wherever she wants. The transmitter is so small and lightweight, that you can barely see it. Paired with the cardioid ME 104 lavalier microphone and some precise placement by our Monitor Engineer/Flute Tech Loreen Bohannon, we get a rich sound from her flute. Also, can we talk about the battery life? It is amazing!"

Brandi Carlile sets the gold standardBrandi Carlile, who was recognized with several GRAMMY Award nominations, performed a powerful duet alongside Tanya Tucker of "Bring My Flowers Now" – which also won "Best Country Song". Carlile, who accompanied Tucker on piano and also sang harmony, sang through a gold-plated Sennheiser SKM 6000 handheld transmitter, coupled with a Neumann KK 205 capsule. "It all started at the Grammys a year ago where we came in and brought the wired gold Neumann 105 in, and as the show progressed, I thought it was about time to get her on a wireless mic," recalls Sean Quackenbush, FOH for Brandi Carlile.

"I reached out to Sennheiser, and they showed me some options that coupled the Neumann capsule with a Digital 6000 – it was a no-brainer at that point. Since then, the performance of the system has been just stunning with the amount of frequencies you can dial in. Since then, I've taken the system all around the world and it's been rock solid through and through. Also, I don't have to worry about expanding certain frequency bands for certain countries since the system RF is so efficient. It's just been rock solid through and through."

Dependable performance with customers at the core
No matter where they are in their career trajectories or how big the stage, Sennheiser remains by its customers' side: "Sennheiser has had my back coming up on 20 years now, throughout almost all of my career," offers Quackenbush. "The Digital 6000 – as well as Sennheiser's support – has been top notch."

"The support from Sennheiser has been amazing," adds Blackwell. "Whenever I have an issue – which is really rare – Sennheiser is always there for me and my issue is usually resolved in less than 24 hours. As a sound engineer, we decide to use certain products based off their sound qualities. But for me, the customer service is what makes me continually come back. I've had great support from the start with Sennheiser and will continue to use and purchase their products."

Ola Onabulé: Capturing the Spirit of Point Less

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/11/2019 -- British-Nigerian singer/songwriter Ola Onabule's latest studio album Point Less has 14 original tracks that tell tales of violence, immigration, xenophobia, betrayal, and dignity too. The album is at once a celebration of life and also a warning of the social forces that threaten it. Onabule's short US tour kicked off with the album launch, before taking the jazz artist to the Exit Zero Jazz Festival (November 8 and 9), the South Jazz Club Philadelphia (November 10) and Scullers in Boston (November 15). Ola is a veteran of the recording studio and, with the help of Sennheiser and Neumann microphones, has fully captured the complexity of his music, its heart and its spirit.

Ola Onabule has a career spanning more than 20 years. He has performed at some of the most prestigious jazz festivals – Montreal, Vancouver, San Sebastian, Istanbul, Washington and Umbria to name a few – as well as at concert halls and jazz clubs around the world. His compositions cross cultural and musical boundaries with Ola taking a hands-on approach, immersing himself in not only his songwriting but also in the technology that faithfully brings his distinctive sound to his recordings.

While Ola is always open to new ideas, there are certain things that are constants: For many years, Neumann and Sennheiser microphones have played a large part in both his recording and live work. His devotion to the two brands is, he says, based on audio fidelity and the support the two companies provide.

"I generally work with acoustic instruments, so I need microphones that allow me to hear everything in the recording; the thing that got me emotional, or inspired me, or gave me 20 other new ideas…," he explains. "I want to hear that on the recording, so any microphone that can give me what I heard with my ears is the one for me. Both Sennheiser and Neumann have developed a range of tools for people who don't want things to sound too lofty and want to capture the truth. Neumann in particular has a reputation for designing microphones that do that. Sennheiser has a slightly wider range of microphones, with dynamic as well as condenser mics available in the range, giving me a different part of the spectrum to play with. Between the two ranges, they cover just about all of my needs."

Point Less has been recorded in Ola Onabule's own recording studio using a Neumann M 150 Tube, a U 87 Ai and M 149 for vocals. Ola knows the M 150 Tube is an unusual choice, being a small-diaphragm omni microphone, but says that it works particularly well for male vocals, especially those in the low/mid-range, for avoiding the proximity effect when getting up close and personal. Monitoring is via a Neumann KH 310 A system with a KH 810 sub.

Ola and his band, which includes a bass player, pianist, guitarist and drummer, record in his live room with no real isolation between instruments – only the drummer has the most minimal of drum screens. As Ola wants to maintain eye contact between everyone, emulating their stage performance, this necessitates setting up the songs and the recordings so that, although there would be bleed in the room, it would not ruin the performance.

"None of the instruments will have too much captured in another's mic, so when the mix engineer gets it, it will still make musical and audio sense," he explains. "These are the kinds of challenges I think about when I am writing, too. I've always felt that writing a song, recording a song, and production and arrangement are all part of a wider process. The guys that I admired whilst growing up, people like Prince, more or less lived in the studio – the distance between his bedroom and the mixing desk was a very short one. I have always envisaged music making in the same way.

"I know a lot of folks think I write my songs on a note pad, I sing them, then a whole team of other people gets involved to make it the thing that I've imagined. But that's not the way I do it. Writing and production – both technical and creative – are all part of the same process to me. Every idea immediately starts to formulate a concept of how I might mic it, how I might EQ it, how many parts I might play, the frequency arrangement for the guitar to play, does that conflict with the chord or maybe the spread of notes that I want the pianist to play? I might choose different chords so there's no conflict between instruments. Each thing is distinct and can be heard, even though the music is busy and lively.

"I also do very elaborate and detailed demos which are essentially mock-ups of exactly what I want the guys to play. I'll play the percussion bits, guitar, bass and drums first, so I know exactly what's going to be happening on session day. That means I have all the possible miking options available to me. I can kind of future-proof what is about to happen with the recording. The music is so intricate, with lots of fiddly bits that need to be caught, so I have a very detailed recording list and plan sorted out so that I can make sure I avert any shocks or surprises on the day."

Over his last three albums, Onabule has refined this process, making everything 'sing' in his studio space. He uses careful mic placements, making sure that each one is perfectly positioned so that, for instance, the double bass mic does not become a glorified drum mic, capturing everything else in the room.

"I have also created this thing I call a bass cave around the double bass," he says. "It's a structure that protects it from a lot of the sound around. I have the mic facing directly at the f-hole, which is the most sensitive part of the quietest instrument in a room such as mine."

Whilst Ola is hands on in the studio, he has never mixed any of his albums: "I just spend so much time with the songs through all the processes from conception to recording that it is a huge relief to hand them over to a fresh set of experienced and critical ears."

These ears belong to US-based George Whitty – a much in demand pianist and keyboardist (Dave Matthews, The Brecker Brothers and Santana) who also moonlights as a Grammy Award winning producer and mix engineer. Whitty has mixed Ola Onabule's last two albums.

"I love the clarity and depth of George's mixes," Ola explains. "Each instrument holds its space with confidence and nothing feels like it has been whittled down to its bare essentials to allow something else to be heard.
dearVR PRO to Become an All-in-One Solution for Spatial Audio Productions

Software from Dear Reality will soon offer a brand-new multichannel feature

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/24/2019 -- At IBC, Dear Reality announced an update (v1.4) to its flagship spatial audio software solution: From October, the dearVR PRO 3D audio panner will support 26 multichannel output formats. In addition to binaural and Ambisonics outputs, the software will be able to reproduce multichannel formats for loudspeaker playback from 5.0 to 13.1, for example for Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, MPEG-H or the AMBEO Soundbar from Sennheiser.

As well as the new multi-channel feature, a new highlight of dearVR PRO is an optimised virtual distance and acoustics simulation which recreates the spatial characteristics of houses of worship, concert halls, living rooms, cars etc. to produce a stunningly realistic sound. The update also results in a performance optimisation of up to 60%, which means that more instances of dearVR PRO can be processed simultaneously.

In combination with the dearVR SPATIAL CONNECT control software, sound creators can mix multichannel productions directly in VR – for example in virtual studios or virtual movie theatres – and monitor the mix via a corresponding set-up of monitoring loudspeakers. When combined with Sennheiser and Neumann recording and playback equipment, dearVR products are able to create full end-to-end workflows, which will be further expanded in the future.

The v1.4 update of dearVR PRO will be released in October and is free of charge for existing dearVR PRO customers. New customers can get dearVR PRO for USD349; a bundle with dearVR SPATIAL CONNECT is available at USD699.

Sennheiser Introduces new MOMENTUM Wireless

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/05/2019 -- Sennheiser's premium MOMENTUM headphone range enters its third generation, with the launch of the new MOMENTUM Wireless at IFA 2019 (September 6-11). The headphones are the latest addition to the audio specialist's iconic range that offers superior sound, a modern design aesthetic, cutting-edge technology, and a touch of handcrafted indulgence to every moment. Thanks to Auto On/Off and Smart Pause features, the new MOMENTUM Wireless headphones start up instantly when unfolded, and sense when put on or taken off to pause and resume playback, ensuring a world of uncompromised sound is just a heartbeat away. Designed to be supremely comfortable for all-day listening sessions, they feature genuine sheep leather and soft padding on the earpads and headband. Active Noise Cancellation and a Transparent Hearing function allow listeners to experience their audio on their terms, by either blocking out the world or staying aware of their environment. One-touch voice assistant access lets them stay connected on the move.

"Our MOMENTUM range has been synonymous with a unique blend of superior sound quality, progressive technology and remarkable craftsmanship, and with the third generation, we are bringing this contemporary classic into the always-on, connected age," said Stephane Hareau, Global Head of Products Consumer at Sennheiser. "The new MOMENTUM Wireless is a smart headphone that gives you fast, effortless control: whether enjoying entertainment or making calls, escaping it all or staying connected – it anticipates your needs and lets you interact intuitively and instantly," added Sebastian Rodens, Product Manager at Sennheiser.

Never Lose your Rhythm Again
With the new generation of MOMENTUM Wireless, interaction is supremely intuitive thanks to a unique combination of features that offer fast access to one's music. Auto On/Off instantly turns on or off playback as the earcups are folded open or closed, while Smart Pause uses proximity sensors to pause audio when the headphones are removed and to resume playback when they are slipped back on. Just as effortless is a three-button interface that gives control of audio or calls – all without the need to consult a manual. Via a dedicated button, the MOMENTUM headphones feature one-touch access to voice assistants such as Siri and Google Assistant, while Amazon Alexa integration will be available soon with a firmware update via the Sennheiser Smart Control app. Pairing is effortless as well, thanks to NFC and an automatic pairing mode that makes setting up on initial activation a breeze.

Hear the Difference
Sennheiser's new MOMENTUM Wireless headphones offer outstanding sonic performance. The high-quality speaker system is powered by 42mm transducers to reproduce the balanced depth and precision of a studio recording. This flawless audio performance is ensured by Bluetooth 5 compatibility and support for codecs including aptXTM, AAC, and SBC, as well as aptXTM Low Latency for perfectly synchronising audio with onscreen visuals. Whether listeners are enjoying music, movies or podcasts or simply want to fine-tune the audio experience to their taste, it is possible to tailor the audio experience with the built-in equalizer via Sennheiser's Smart Control app.

Perfectly in Tune, Wherever, Whenever
No matter where the MOMENTUM Wireless headphones are being enjoyed, they are able to adapt to every environment. When on the go, Active Noise Cancellation with three different modes blocks out the outside world. Alternatively, the Transparent Hearing function lets listeners enjoy their music and still be aware of ambient sounds in their surroundings – perfect for environments that require greater situational awareness.

A Sophisticated Harmony of Form and Function
Like all MOMENTUM headphones, the new generation model offers a sophisticated harmony of form and function. While the genuine sheepskin leather of the earpads and pearl-blasted stainless steel sliders express a subtle luxury, they also functionally enhance every interaction. The leather on the padded ear pads and headband is ultra soft for improved wearing comfort, even for longer listening sessions made possible by the 17-hour battery life. Meanwhile, the strong yet lightweight stainless steel sliders and hinges maintain a purity of design while also ensuring the headphones remain robust enough for a lifetime of listening on the move. The folding headband design allows the headphones to fold away in their fashionable fabric carry case.

Hard to Put Down, Difficult to Lose with Tile
With the new MOMENTUM Wireless, it is easy to lose oneself in the music, but thanks to smart Tile technology, the headphones are almost impossible to misplace. The integrated Bluetooth tracker ensures users can find their headphones via the Tile app.

The new MOMENTUM Wireless is available in black as of now for $399.95 (MSRP).
Sennheiser's AMBEO Soundbar Receives Prestigious EISA Award

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/28/2019 -- Sennheiser's AMBEO Soundbar has been honored with the prestigious EISA Award 2019-2020 in the "Premium Soundbar" category. Presented annually by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA), the EISA Awards celebrate products that combine the most advanced technology and desirable features with class-leading performance. Across categories including mobile devices, Hi-Fi and Home Theatre Audio, the awards recognize the very best new products in consumer electronics, as chosen by 55 of the leading international specialist CE magazines.

"With the AMBEO Soundbar, we have sought to enter a new product category and establish new standards for a 3D sound experience at home. Receiving the EISA Award demonstrates that we have succeeded to push new bounderies in the home entertainment speaker market delivering one of the world's best soundbars," said Stephane Hareau, Global Head of Products Consumer at Sennheiser. With 13 drivers and the latest virtualization technology jointly developed with Fraunhofer IIS, the soundbar places the listener inside the sound experience with incredible realism, blurring the lines between playback and reality.

Sennheiser's AMBEO Soundbar received the EISA Award in the Premium Soundbar category.

The EISA Award citation praised the AMBEO Soundbar for its perfect combination of speaker and microphone technology: "With its debut soundbar, Sennheiser has effectively rewritten the immersive audio rulebook. Handling Dolby Atmos and DT S:X, and introducing proprietary AMBEO 3D upmixing for stereo and 5.1 content, this large-scale one-box system ensures an enveloping, cinematic performance from any source. Its 13 drivers, including six 4in woofers and twin upfiring units, work to create an astonishingly realistic soundstage with crisp highs and room-shaking bass, while Sennheiser's microphone-assisted room calibration results in a precise presentation. Three HDMI inputs, an eARC-enabled output, plus Bluetooth, Chromecast and networking talents allow the AMBEO Soundbar to become your system hub, and the companion smartphone app makes it easy to use. Most importantly, once heard it's never forgotten..."

The AMBEO Soundbar delivers an immersive 3D sound experience from a single all-in-one device.

Without the need for additional speakers or an external subwoofer, the AMBEO Soundbar brings perfectly tailored 5.1.4 sound and powerful bass to every kind of home entertainment. It is compatible with Dolby Atmos, MPEG-H and DTS:X. Thanks to its Upmix Technology, it can also recreate stereo and 5.1 content in stunning 3D. The soundbar features five different presets (movie, music, sports, news and neutral) tailored to a range of scenarios and content types that precisely adjust not only the frequencies but also the 3D sound characteristics. Sennheiser's Smart Control App allows users to adjust acoustic settings via smart devices, including setting presets, personalizing the sound with the equalizer and selecting from three different AMBEO modes.

Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 Certified for Microsoft Teams

Ceiling array microphone now part of the Microsoft Teams Rooms offer

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/27/2019 -- The Sennheiser TeamConnect Ceiling 2 microphone is now certified for Microsoft Teams Rooms when deployed with Microsoft-certified DSPs. The ceiling array microphone, which offers easy installation and patented dynamic beamforming technology, will be available from Microsoft as a solution for Microsoft Teams Rooms complete with a Microsoft-certified DSP.

TeamConnect Ceiling 2 delivers flexibility and performance thanks to automatic, adaptive beamforming. This technology, patented by Sennheiser, automatically focuses on the active speaker and follows their voice no matter where they move in the room.

"With TeamConnect Ceiling 2 we set web and video conferences free – making them simpler and more productive, while ensuring optimum audio quality for remote participants," said Jens Werner, Portfolio Manager Business Communication at Sennheiser. "We are very happy to take this pursuit of simplicity, performance and reliability even further with a TeamConnect Ceiling 2 bundle that ensures a seamless experience for Microsoft Teams users."

"The certification indicates that this solution meets the highest specifications outlined in the certification program to provide the best experiences, compatibility, and reliability when used with Microsoft Teams products," explained Microsoft's Ilya Bukshteyn, Head of Product (Partner Director), Microsoft Teams Devices.

Created with the ability to combine multiple ceiling tiles to serve medium and large meeting rooms, Sennheiser's adaptive beamforming technology automatically follows the active speaker's voice, letting people speak naturally – whether they are sitting, standing or moving around the room. Hence, with TeamConnect Ceiling 2, the meeting room can be used in a totally flexible way: Tables are free from cables and microphones, chairs and tables can be arranged as desired, and the meeting participants can move about the room freely.

TeamConnect Ceiling 2 also offers exceptional flexibility as it can be used together with existing analogue audio equipment as well as integrated into fully digital systems, where it can be controlled and monitored via the IP network. The ceiling array microphone supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), Sennheiser Control Cockpit, Dante Domain Manager and third-party control solutions such as the Crestron control platform.

Audio Specialist Sennheiser Enters Automotive Sector

Karma and Sennheiser to showcase first in-car AMBEO sound system at Monterey Car Week

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/27/2019 -- Sennheiser has entered the automotive sector with an AMBEO immersive audio solution for in-car entertainment and communication in collaboration with Southern California-based luxury automaker, Karma Automotive. Meticulously engineered using highest-grade microphone and loudspeaker technology and 3D audio expertise, the AMBEO sound system provides impressively enveloping sound and clear audio for phone calls. The system can first be experienced as a technology showcase on a new 2020 Karma Revero GT during Monterey Car Week from August 15 to 18.

"We are extremely pleased to be taking the unique immersive audio experience of AMBEO to automobiles, and to be doing so with Karma Automotive, who put their development focus on electric vehicles," said Daniel Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser. "With Karma, we are combining the future of mobility with the future of audio enjoyment."

Co-CEO Andreas Sennheiser added: "We set out with the aim to create nothing less than the best-in-class sound experience. The system we designed will amaze with its authentic immersive sound, voice intelligibility, and possibilities for sound personalisation."

"At Karma Automotive we pride ourselves in creating immersive driving experiences through global relationships and technology partners such as Sennheiser," states John Maloney, Chief Revenue Officer of Karma Automotive. "Karma's Pebble Beach technology showcase of the AMBEO sound system in our 2020 Revero GT illustrates cutting-edge audio technology possibilities for the future."

Distributed sound system
The AMBEO sound system on board the 2020 Karma Revero GT consists of a multi-channel loudspeaker set-up arranged in two main layers plus a subwoofer to provide authentic sound immersion anywhere in the cabin. To make this experience complete, the vehicle's headrests have been integrated into the loudspeaker concept.

Crucially, the ability to enjoy breathtaking immersive sound does not require specific 3D audio sources – the system's AMBEO upmix algorithm can turn any stereo material into an immersive experience. Audio sources and levels are managed via a convenient graphical user interface, which allows the driver and passengers to personalize the sound according to their preferences. The interface also lets you determine the preferred degree of immersiveness, and your position within the sound stage.

Finally: Intelligible phone calls thanks to beamforming microphone arrays
With the AMBEO system, clear phone conversations in the car are no longer a dream. The system employs beamforming technology to actively focus on the speaker, with the beamforming microphone arrays integrated into both sides of the cabin. The result is precise capture of the voice, while wind, engine and tire noise is efficiently attenuated. The other passengers can join the phone conversation, or continue listening to their music or film audio undisturbed. This solution has yet another advantage: It enables relaxed, clear communication between everyone in the car.

An engineering feat
Sennheiser engineers worked more than two years on developing and fine-tuning the AMBEO technology for the automotive sector. "The main challenge was to bring immersive high-quality audio into the complex and difficult environment of the car, which is quite unlike our usual use cases for immersive audio and beamforming technologies," said Dr. Veronique Larcher, Director AMBEO Immersive Audio at Sennheiser. "We almost had to start from zero, with the objective of not only bringing a good solution to market, but creating the very best available. This AMBEO system now combines the gold-standard AMBEO upmix algorithm for immersive audio with high-quality, elevated sound reproduction and the latest beamforming technology for clear communications."

New Management Set-Up for Georg Neumann GmbH

Wolfgang Fraissinet to leave the company

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/31/2019 -- Wolfgang Fraissinet, President Marketing and Finance, will leave the studio specialist Georg Neumann GmbH to pursue new career opportunities in the audio and music industry. "We thank Wolfgang for his huge contribution to the success of Georg Neumann GmbH for almost three decades," said Peter Claussen, COO of Sennheiser.

Until the position has been filled, the Neumann management team will report directly to Claussen, who is also President Research and Development of Georg Neumann GmbH. "We have a fantastic team at Neumann – together, we will ensure a smooth transition for our customers," continued Claussen.

With a solid background in premium brand marketing and an education in classical piano at Berlin Conservatory, business graduate Wolfgang Fraissinet started his career with Georg Neumann GmbH in 1990, shortly before the company was acquired by Sennheiser in 1991. During this transitional period, Wolfgang was part of the team that helped to successfully integrate the Neumann business into that of the parent company, with a clear focus on the microphone portfolio.

In May 1992, he was made head of marketing and sales, a position in which he professionalized the company's international marketing and PR activities, thus raising awareness of the Neumann brand and firmly anchoring it in the premium recording segment.

In 2000, Wolfgang became President, Marketing and Sales of Georg Neumann GmbH. When Neumann took over the Klein+Hummel monitoring loudspeaker business in 2010, he was instrumental in successfully establishing the new monitor line in the studio market.

Wolfgang successfully introduced a new CI/CD for Neumann.Berlin, culminating in a move to new headquarters in Berlin in 2015. Apart from his business endeavors, Wolfgang has always pursued his musical interests, and has been involved in various international productions of classical, jazz and film music.

Today, more than 80% of the professional recording studios worldwide use mainly Neumann microphones in their work; since 1991, Neumann's turnover has grown tenfold. Most recently, the Neumann portfolio was successfully extended into studio headphones with the launch of the new NDH 20.

"On behalf of the entire executive management board of Sennheiser, I would like to thank Wolfgang for his immense contribution to the company's success," continued Peter Claussen. "With his determination and commitment, his wealth of expertise and close ties within the audio industry, Wolfgang has played a vital role in driving the Neumann business forward for almost three decades. His accomplishments include enlarging the studio specialist's product portfolio and making Neumann a highly desirable brand not only in the studio field. We thank him and wish him all the best in his new endeavors."

SpeechLine Digital Wireless Sets the New Standard at University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Sennheiser’s Control Cockpit lets Classroom Technology Services actively monitor all wireless microphones in the university’s enterprise system

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/03/2019 -- Sennheiser's SpeechLine Digital Wireless microphone system has recently helped University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) Classroom Technology Services department improve its audio communications. Since installing its first SpeechLine Digital Wireless system in the newly built William F. Harrah College of Hospitality Hall, AV/IT Systems Specialist Frank Alaimo and Classroom Control Systems Specialist Michael Theil have streamlined their roles and grown the university's enterprise AV system with the Sennheiser Control Cockpit software suite, which enables them to actively monitor every new SpeechLine Digital Wireless device on the network.

"We started using the new microphone systems when the university built the new Hospitality Hall, because part of the design included SpeechLine Digital Wireless microphones in every classroom," Theil said.

"We had such success with them, so we went through and removed all the analog systems and started to build our system off the new standard," Alaimo added. "And the SpeechLine Digital Wireless systems in the Hospitality Building became the new standard."

UNLV: Simplifying the enterprise

Sennheiser's SpeechLine Digital Wireless is the first digital microphone solution designed exclusively for speech applications. Accessible on any platform through a web browser, the Sennheiser Control Cockpit software facilitates easy handling, control and maintenance of the entire SpeechLine Digital Wireless system, offering a continuous, global dashboard overview of all network-enabled SpeechLine Digital Wireless devices, showing status information at a glance.

UNLV's enterprise system now includes SpeechLine Digital Wireless systems in over 40 campus spaces, including classrooms and lecture halls ranging from 35-160 seats, auditoriums, computer labs, and even a teaching kitchen. Using Sennheiser Control Cockpit, Alaimo and Theil are now able to set up and remotely manage the operation of each additional SpeechLine Digital Wireless device — eliminating much of the hassle associated with sending student workers from one campus building to another to address many of the technical difficulties they had with their previous analog systems.

"We have a workforce of about 10 students who monitor the day-to-day operation of control systems, and with the old series, if there was a mic problem, we basically always had to send someone out," Theil said. "That added up to a ton of time we'd spend sitting around waiting. So we were looking for a way to minimize lost class time by providing the instructors with reliable tools that work when they need them."

"We were always running into problems with frequencies being taken over, and we were constantly having to update our frequencies to comply with new regulations," Theil continued. "And then we would have frequency issues when one room's signal would encroach on another, and we'd have to put another receiver in. Trying to keep track of all that was a big pain for us. Plus, we weren't getting any feedback to know when the batteries were low."

Now, using Sennheiser Control Cockpit to monitor UNLV's SpeechLine Digital Wireless devices, Alaimo and Theil can easily check the link status and the battery info on any device, set receiver sensitivity for each system, or easily pair a system with an additional microphone when a classroom has a guest speaker.

"We keep monitors behind our help desk and have different modes of monitoring software, and one of them is set to the Control Cockpit so that we can see which mics are on, how they're being used, and we can make sure they're not muted," Theil explained.

"We've even had instructors call over saying that they didn't have any audio coming through, and we would just look over at the Control Cockpit and see they're muted, and the solution would be as simple as telling them to just unmute their microphone," Alaimo said.

"Another issue we had with the older microphones was when the instructors would mess with the sensitivity on the receiver, and we'd get calls from the next instructor in the room saying that, as soon as they turned the receiver on they would get feedback," Theil continued. "Now we don't have to worry about that, because each device has the levels set automatically, so there are no settings instructors can mess with on the receiver itself.

"Through the Control Cockpit, not only can we get information about devices in use, but we can also change settings on the fly. So if we want to change the name of a device, or put different filters on, we can do that now. And we can get the serial number and the firmware version of the receivers remotely, so we know if we need to update the firmware or if we need to go into the room for anything. The new system is just a lot simpler."

Sennheiser Exhibits at Infocomm 2019

The meeting experience perfected: TeamConnect Ceiling 2 – New Control Cockpit software version available

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/03/2019 -- At InfoComm 2019 (June 12-14, Orange County Convention Center, booth 5561), Sennheiser will highlight its business and education solutions portfolio, with a focus on its new TeamConnect Ceiling 2 (TCC2) microphone array. Sennheiser will offer live booth demonstrations of TeamConnect Ceiling 2, which uses its patented automatic, dynamic beamforming technology to deliver the ultimate virtual meeting experience.

The advantages of flexible beamforming
TeamConnect Ceiling 2, which has been shipping since April, is Sennheiser's flagship A/V conferencing solution and employs its unique flexible beamforming technology to follow the active speaker wherever he or she moves in the room. Unlike ceiling microphones with static beamforming technology that work with predefined speaking zones, TCC2 reliably captures the speaker no matter where they are in the room. Also, there is no need to alter the set-up when the number of participants changes or when a different seating arrangement is chosen: Due to its single, flexible beam technology, TeamConnect Ceiling 2 is as versatile as you need it to be and caters to any type of meeting without further adjustments. TCC2 can be used together with existing analogue conference systems, or integrated into fully digital systems, and can also be controlled and monitored over the network. TCC2 supports Power over Ethernet (PoE), Sennheiser Control Cockpit, Dante Domain Manager and provides an open media protocol for third-party control platforms such as Crestron.

Sennheiser Control Cockpit 3.1.0 out now
The audio specialist will also be demonstrating the latest version of its Sennheiser Control Cockpit software at Infocomm 2019. This offers an intuitive, easy way to set up and manage TeamConnect Ceiling 2 along with SpeechLine Digital Wireless systems, which are also on display at InfoComm. The powerful software is accessible in web browsers on any smartphone, tablet or notebook. It offers a continuous, global dashboard overview of all network-enabled Sennheiser devices, while greatly simplifying adjusting settings for individual or multiple devices.

In addition to various workflow improvements, highlights of version 3.1.0 include out-of-range detection for wireless microphones and the possibility to select exclusion zones for TeamConnect Ceiling 2. When activated, out-of-range activation will notify the system administrator via e-mail and/or text when a wireless microphone leaves the range of the receiver.

For TeamConnect Ceiling 2, Sennheiser Control Cockpit version 3.1.0 offers the possibility to define vertical exclusion zones in order to minimize noise from projectors or air-conditioning units. The free software can be downloaded at www.sennheiser.com/control-cockpit-software.

SpeechLine Digital Wireless and MobileConnect
Created specifically for speech applications in corporate and educational environments such as universities, Sennheiser's SpeechLine Digital Wireless microphone line provides highest level of speech intelligibility and concise sound quality. A completely scalable system that is perfect for company/campus-wide installations, SpeechLine Digital Wireless delivers unmatched sound quality and flexible configuration options.

The Sennheiser SpeechLine Wireless Series provides specialist tools for speech applications

Sennheiser will also be displaying MobileConnect, its WiFi-based system for accessible hearing. The system is ideal for applications in universities and employs a BYOD philosophy so students can connect using their own device to participate in lectures with personalized audio that ensures greater intelligibility. MobileConnect also supports applications for use in theatre, opera and musical environments.

Solid State Logic Joins Sennheiser's 'AMBEO for VR' Partnership Program

Sennheiser AMBEO VR Mic works seamlessly with SSL’s System T broadcast audio platform

Old Lyme, CT -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/01/2019 -- At NAB, Sennheiser and Solid State Logic (SSL) have announced their cooperation within the framework of the AMBEO for VR partnership program. Solid State Logic's S500, S300 and TCR System T broadcast mixing consoles will now feature onboard AMBEO A-B conversion for the Sennheiser AMBEO VR Mic.

"We are extremely happy to welcome Solid State Logic to our partnership program," said Veronique Larcher, AMBEO Immersive Audio co-director at Sennheiser. "Our AMBEO VR Mic and SSL's System T consoles are trailblazers in immersive audio broadcasting. "With this partnership, we are making the workflows for the creation of immersive formats far easier."

"The partnership with Sennheiser AMBEO expands our growing functionality to provide processing for multiple audio formats for immersive and three-dimensional audio; channel-based, objects, Ambisonics and binaural," commented Tom Knowles, SSL Broadcast Product Manager. "System T now provides on-board A-B format conversion support for the AMBEO VR Mic, with a 360 transcoder to render to a wide range of multi-channel outputs from 4.0 to 7.1.4. This allows our clients to use the AMBEO VR Mic to add ambient sound to a live immersive production or provide decoding for a live VR mix."

Direct conversion for easy workflows
The AMBEO A-B converter works hand in hand with SSL's 360 transcoder. While the former provides the processing-ready B-format from the Ambisonics AMBEO VR Mic, the latter converts this signal to a broad range of output formats and loudspeaker arrangements, ranging from 4.0. to 5.1.4 and 7.1.4. Broadcast engineers will be able to record and process immersive content with far greater ease, and without the need for any additional physical equipment.

Background information: SSL System T consoles
System T is a new generation of dedicated broadcast audio production systems from Solid State Logic, designed to handle large-scale productions and multi-platform delivery. A range of hardware and software control interfaces can be placed anywhere on a network accessing Tempest processor cores and Network I/O audio interfaces. Dante, AES67 and ST 2110-30 AoIP connectivity provides complete interoperability. AoIP discovery, connection management and automatic stream creation are managed directly from the control surface, providing an intuitive audio-centric routing interface. Multiple consoles can be used on a single network, with the ability to re-configure control interfaces and processing resources to suit production requirements.

Background information: Sennheiser AMBEO 3D Audio
AMBEO is Sennheiser's initiative for truly immersive 3D audio, designed to create sound experiences with an incredibly high emotional impact.
Sennheiser and Neumann at NAB 2019

Sennheiser and Neumann to showcase microphone, wireless and monitoring highlights

Las Vegas, NV -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/26/2019 -- Audio for video solutions for every camera type, wireless microphone systems from entry-level to high-end professional, as well as studio monitoring and microphone solutions – at NAB 2019, the portfolio on show from Sennheiser and Neumann reflects the breadth of today's broadcasting world. Product highlights from Sennheiser include the SK 6212 mini-bodypack transmitter from the Digital 6000 series and the new XSW-D series entry-level camera kits. Neumann will spotlight the new KH 750 DSP subwoofer and the Neumann NDH 20 monitoring headphone. Certain to generate a buzz at NAB is Sennheiser's immersive AMBEO 3D audio technology, with a prototype of an AMBEO Sports Microphone Array for capturing 360o sound on display. Visitors can also experience Sennheiser's remarkable AMBEO Soundbar first hand.

"There is an incredible diversity in both broadcasting and audio for video but all of our customers are united in striving to deliver extraordinary content that is also technically impeccable," said Greg Beebe, Director Professional Audio, Sennheiser. "We are proud to help customers take on this challenge with a portfolio of innovative and leading-edge audio solutions that make it possible to be extraordinary, every day."

Sennheiser Wireless Audio
Sennheiser's latest wireless series, XS Wireless Digital, includes entry-level audio for video solutions for DSLR and DSLM cameras. Working on 2.4 GHz for worldwide operation, the systems provide videographers and content creators with a wireless system that adds effortless audio to their video. The XSW-D Portable Lavalier Set includes an easy-to-use transmitter/receiver combo and ME 2-II lavalier mic as well as all accessories to get started immediately. The XSW-D Portable ENG Set features an additional transmitter for an existing handheld dynamic microphone.

Content creators who prefer to work with their smartphones, will find an interesting alternative in the Memory Mic. This clip-on model works wirelessly with any smartphone, at any distance, via a companion app.

Sennheiser will also display the ew 100 ENG G4 combo system from its best-selling wireless series for camera use, evolution wireless. The kit includes a camera receiver with both a plug-on transmitter and a bodypack with a lav. The ew 500 FILM G4 is both a performance and sound upgrade, featuring more bandwidth/channels, increased RF output power and the professional MKE 2 lavalier mic with a fur windshield. Also on show will be the ew 500 G4-KK205 system, which combines Sennheiser wireless technology with the sound of the Neumann KK 205 microphone capsule.

Looking to digital solutions for broadcast, film and music productions, Sennheiser's Digital 6000 series offers the ideal wireless audio tools. Both the Dante-enabled rack-mount receiver and the digital/analog camera receiver of the series, the EK 6042, will be shown at NAB. These partner with handheld and bodypack transmitters, including the new SK 6212 mini-bodypack transmitter. Also on display is the rack-mount charging solution for the transmitter batteries.

Sennheiser camera and boom microphones
For users seeking an on-camera microphone for DSLRs/DSLMs, Sennheiser will be presenting its MKE microphones, including the MKE 400 mini-shotgun, the larger MKE 600 and the MKE 440 stereo model. Meanwhile, the MKH series provides ideal options for professional filming and broadcasting tasks: Sennheiser's classic MKH 416, alongside the MKH 8060 short gun microphone for on-camera use and the MKH 8070 long gun microphone for accurate long-range pick-up will all be on display at the booth.

AMBEO
The Sennheiser AMBEO range offers various recording solutions for 3D audio: From the AMBEO Smart Headset that captures immersive audio with smartphone simplicity to the AMBEO VR Mic and the AMBEO Sports Microphone Array for 360° audio pick up in sports broadcasting. NAB visitors will also get the opportunity to listen to the brand-new AMBEO Soundbar, available from the end of May. The all-in-one 5.1.4 soundbar – which does not require additional speakers or subwoofer – will enable (sports) broadcast mixers to critically monitor how their immersive content would sound on a real-world device.

Neumann studio headphones
Neumann has expanded its product portfolio to also include studio headphones: The new NDH 20 combines a newly developed Neumann transducer with a comfortable, closed-back design that includes soft memory foam ear pads. Featuring a balanced, linear sound image, fine resolution and excellent isolation, the headphone is ideal for monitoring, editing and mixing even in loud environments. The NDH 20 is foldable for easy transport, and is delivered with two detachable cables, one coiled, one straight.

Neumann monitoring loudspeakers – new KH 750 DSP subwoofer
The booth's sound room gives NAB guests the opportunity to listen to the ultra-compact KH 80 DSP nearfield monitor and the new KH 750 DSP subwoofer. Both models are an ideal choice for the confined spaces of broadcast studios. A DSP engine optimises their output, enabling critical monitoring with reference class sound despite their compact size. In addition, both the KH 80 DSP nearfield monitor and the KH 750 DSP subwoofer can be controlled with the Neumann.Control app for iPad.

Neumann studio microphones
No Neumann presentation would be complete without classic studio microphones such as the U 87 Ai and the U 67 re-issue. Also available to experience hands on are the compact TLM 102, TLM 103 and TLM 107 studio mics, as well as the BCM 104 radio station mic. The KU 100 binaural head rounds off the microphones on show.
