NJ Divorce Lawyer Hanan M. Isaacs Presents on Divorce Arbitration at the Mercer Bar Association's 2016 Xtreme CLE

Kingston, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/16/2016 -- New Jersey family law attorney Hanan M. Isaacs is a featured speaker at the Mercer County Bar Association's Xtreme CLE Conference on November 15, 2016. Mr. Isaacs's topic is "Resolving Cases Through Divorce Arbitration".

Mr. Isaacs will present along with the Hon. Linda R. Feinberg, A.J.S.C. (ret.), Hon William A. Dreier, P.J.A.D. (ret.), Hon. Glenn Berman, P.J., General Equity. Topics include Civil Arbitration, the Preliminary Hearing, Scheduling Orders and Discovery, the NJ Alternative Procedure for Dispute Resolution Act, and Mr. Isaacs's presentation on Divorce Arbitration.

"Divorce Arbitration permits a binding decision on issues of child custody/parenting time, family finances (alimony and child support), and division of jointly acquired marital property and debts," said Isaacs. He continued: "The Arbitrator is similar to a judge, in that s/he has wide discretion regarding case management, discovery, evidence rulings, written submissions, and the record to be created concerning possible appeals."

Arbitration is less formal than court, but if the parties want, it is every bit as conclusive as a bench trial. The parties must agree in advance to give the Divorce Arbitrator that power. It is a creative process, in that the parties, with the assistance of legal counsel, can truncate presentations by witnesses, stipulate to facts and exhibits, and move the process forward quickly and privately. Said Isaacs, "Divorce Arbitration has these virtues: it can be faster, more informal, and less costly than appearing in court. The Arbitrator often has higher credibility than a Judge, because both parties get to select the Arbitrator. The Arbitrator often gives faster and better service than the courts can permit."

New Jersey Attorneys are required to complete 24 credit hours of continuing legal education every two years. Xtreme CLE permits lawyers to catch up with most of their missing credit hours in one full day.

Said Isaacs, "I am honored to present at 2016 Xtreme CLE, and look forward to sharing my experiences with audience members and my distinguished co-panelists."

Kingston's Hanan M. Isaacs Presents on Mediation Ethics at 23rd Annual Mediators' Conference: "Mediation, Inside and Out"

Kingston, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/28/2016 -- Family lawyer and mediator Hanan M. Isaacs is the final speaker for the 23rd Annual Conference of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM). His presentation is on mediation ethics for civil and divorce mediators.

An acclaimed public speaker, Mr. Isaacs's topic is "Thinking Globally, Acting Locally." The November 5th conference is titled "Mediation, Inside and Out." It will be held at The Imperia in Somerset, NJ.

The conference theme reflects inner work, including psychological techniques and insights, improving mediation skills, building the practice, and successfully dealing with impasse.

Mr. Isaacs's presentation will be interactive, using online ethics case studies and solutions developed by the American Bar Association's Dispute Resolution Section. With 18,000 members, that Section is the world's largest dispute resolution organization.

Said Isaacs, "As an experienced lawyer and a mediator, I am called upon to represent parties in mediation, and at other times to serve as a third party neutral. The skillsets of mediation and lawyering are quite different, yet they are complementary in actual practice."

Isaacs said he was pleased to present the ethics portion of the conference. A required session for all NJAPM Accredited Professional Mediators, the challenge is to make the learning both interesting and memorable. Said Isaacs, "Good ethics are the basis of a stellar professional practice, whether as a lawyer or a mediator."

The conference organizers have lined up some of the top talent on the East Coast. Said Isaacs, "I am pleased to be included alongside such excellent presenters."

Those attending the conference will earn Continuing Professional Education credits, as lawyers, mediators, or both.
