The non-alcoholic category has been absent from the competition for 15 years. The win validates the company's mission to create great-tasting non-alcoholic craft beer.

Denver, CO -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/08/2019 -- Bravus Brewing Company was awarded 2 out of 3 available medals in the newly returning non-alcoholic category at the 2019 Great American Beer Festival (GABF) competition, the world's largest commercial beer competition. The GABF, presented by the Brewers Association, recognizes the most outstanding beers produced in the United States. Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded on October 5 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, in 107 beer categories covering 174 different beer styles (including all subcategories), establishing the best examples of each style in the country.

Bravus won a silver medal in the non-alcoholic beer-style category for its Oatmeal Stout and a bronze medal for its Barrel Aged Bourbon Stout, the world's first barrel-aged non-alcoholic beer.

"This represents not only a huge win for us, but a huge win for the non-alcoholic craft beer category," said Philip Brandes, Founder and Head Brewer of Bravus. "We will continue in our mission to brew high-quality craft beer for those that are seeking non-alcoholic alternatives."

In the 33rd edition of the GABF competition, 9,497 entries were submitted to the general competition, along with 113 Pro-Am and 70 Collaboration entries. The beer was made by 2,295 breweries from across the nation, with entries from all 50 states plus Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.

"This year's GABF competition was the largest and most competitive to date," said Chris Swersey, competition manager, Great American Beer Festival. "The beers and talent were as impressive as ever, and I'm thrilled to congratulate this year's winners for their achievements in brewing."

Bravus Formally Announces the Launch of Its Non-Alcoholic IPA

Brewery expands its distribution to additional locations throughout the Southern California region.

Santa Ana, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/12/2017 -- Bravus Brewing Company is pleased to announce the formal release of its IPA (India Pale Ale), the first in its planned line of non-alcoholic craft beer. The brewery to date has been quietly distributing the product to select markets and accounts within the Orange County area to gauge viability and collect customer feedback.

"Although the response has been overwhelmingly positive, we occasionally encounter some reluctance as the category has historically been dominated by poor quality choices," explains CEO and Brewmaster Philip Brandes. "However, once customers try our IPA they become instant fans. In fact, the majority of them cannot believe it's non-alcoholic."

The market for N/A beer has traditionally been segmented across a number of niches including those in recovery, pregnant women, designated drivers, those with health issues, and those that choose not to drink due to religious reasons. Bravus aims to be inclusive of those core customers while at the same creating a new hybrid market for those that generally enjoy craft beer but may not want the responsibility of alcohol in a particular situation. This can include employees at a lunch meeting, participants in a sporting event, and cross fit & yoga enthusiasts.

Director of Sales and Marketing, Cathryn Kruger, states "It's not always easy being the first to the party. Ultimately we will have to spend a lot of time and money educating the public that a great-tasting non-alcoholic craft beer exists. However, I have seen firsthand the community which craft beer creates and we are 100% committed to bringing the experience to both drinkers and non-drinkers."

The product is currently sold at restaurants, markets, and bottle shops within Orange County and by October 1st will be available at select Total Wine stores. Customers may also purchase the product directly from the Bravus online store for shipment anywhere in the world.
