Project Boon Partners with Inland Valley Recovery Services (IVRS) to Boost Community Outreach at Upcoming Holiday Events

San Bernardino, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2017 -- The Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons are among us, and that means that local non-profit Project Boon is once again teaming up with San Bernardino's Inland Valley Recovery Services to host holiday events. For the second straight year, Project Boon will support these existing events, helping IVRS expand their reach to under served communities and those in recovery, by hosting holiday meals along with health and wellness services for attendees.

In 2015, when IVRS was running their holiday event on their own, they were able to serve 200 of the San Bernardino area's most needy individuals. Last year, with Project Boon's assistance and resources, that number jumped to serving 600 residents. This year, both IVRS and Project Boon are expecting even more attendees at both the Thanksgiving and Christmas events, being held on November 15th and December 20th from 12-4pm at the IVRS San Bernardino facility,939 N. D St San Bernardino, CA 92401

In addition to serving up traditional, authentic holiday meals and a family-like environment to those who might not otherwise have them, the IVRS holiday events will provide:

- Health and resource vendors
- A clothing closet for men, women and children
- Games and crafts for kids
- Raffle prizes
- A visit from Santa Claus himself at the Christmas event

Additionally, IVRS and Project Boon have arranged for free OmniTrans passes, San Bernardino County's Public Transit System, so that all interested attendees have a way of making it to and from the event. Interested attendees who need OmniTrans passes can contact Project Boon or IVRS to arrange to receive these passes.

Committed to helping those in need, especially people who are trying to better themselves or others, Project Boon's partnership with IVRS is its effort to make a difference in the Inland Empire recovery community.

Project Boon's 6th Annual Eat and Be Well Thanksgiving Event to Serve Food & Health Services to the Inland Empire's Underserved Communities

Fontana, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2017 -- Thanksgiving is a time for family, reflecting on what we have been blessed with, and giving back. On Wednesday, November 22nd – the day before the annual turkey feast – local non-profit Project Boon and over 25 other local businesses, non-profits and government organizations will be teaming up in Fontana's Seville Park to help give thanks and bring the spirit of the season to the Inland Empire's under served communities. Beginning at 11:00am and running until 3:00pm, the 6th Annual Eat and Be Well event will provide Inland Empire families in need with a traditional Thanksgiving meal, access to health services and fun and entertainment for the whole family to enjoy.

"I love volunteering at Eat & Be Well," said Lisa Flores, an Account Executive at Firm Media in Ontario, California, one of the event sponsors. "Every year there are so many attendees, especially kids, all happy to enjoy a holiday meal together. It's a very rewarding experience."

With a goal of serving up to 2,500 attendees, Eat & Be Well has relied on more than 700 volunteers since its inception six years ago. Additionally, Eat & Be Well, which is run by a steering committee, spends 5 months planning for the holiday event, and coordinating with local businesses for food and health services donations like free flue shots, bus passes to travel to the event and haircuts.

Though this year's Eat & Be Well is just less than a month away, there are still opportunities for Inland Empire residents and businesses to get involved. Visit Eat & Be Well's website to learn about sponsorship opportunities, including monetary, food and health services donations. If you'd like to donate your time, you can also sign up to volunteer to help prepare meals in the week before the event, or serve meals and provide services on the big day.
