Adventures Within Reach adds 6 new group departures for the W-Trek in Patagonia for September 2018.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/03/2018 -- If you have been thinking about taking a trip to Patagonia to hike when the cold of winter is coming to an end, then you might want to keep on reading.

This September, Adventures Within Reach is offering three special departures to hike the world-famous W circuit, available as a 5-day or 7-day trek.

Gretchen Traut, South America Sales Manager for Adventures Within Reach explains, "This could be the chance you've been waiting for to see the majestic Paine massif, to hear the immense crashing of the calving Grey Glacier, or to spot wild pumas stalking their guanaco prey, all in the one of the world's most beautiful places."

Typically, the trekking season is from the beginning of October through mid-April. Adventures Within Reach offers group departures starting on every Sunday for the 5-day trek and every Monday for the 7-day trek during this trekking season. Private groups can start on any day.

These new September dates are unique because they differ slightly from the normal program. These modifications have been made to correspond with the changes in weather conditions and daylight hours that springtime brings.

The 5-day W-Trek departures are September 10th, 17th, and 24th. Discounted prices start at $1425/person.

The 7-day W-Trek departures are September 8th, 15th, and 22nd. Discounted prices start at $1945/person.

Adventures Within Reach Helps First-Time Safari Goers Pick the Best Destination

How to choose between Tanzania, Botswana, Kenya, South Africa, or less-traveled Africa.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/02/2018 -- Africa is a huge continent with almost limitless options for the wildlife enthusiast. Adventures Within Reach offers advice to help pick the right safari destination for a first-time trip to Africa.

Northern Tanzania has outstanding scenery, classic African parks (the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater, and more), thrilling wildlife, and unique ancestral cultures that still cling to their ways even to this day. As if this wasn't enough, there is also the exotic tropical island of Zanzibar that is a short flight off the mainland, as well as Kilimanjaro, the quintessential trekking destination in Africa.

Dan Crandall of Adventures Within Reach explains, "Tanzania is relatively easy to reach with numerous flights at Kilimanjaro Airport and Dar es Salaam from Europe, Qatar, and other half-way points from North America. It has a stable government, friendly nationals, and outstanding services for travelers, including fabulous guides, world-class lodges and tented camps, and fine food and drink. Visas are available on arrival so the red-tape is minimal for entry."

Botswana is different altogether. Here, travelers fly from luxury tented lodge to tented lodge on small light aircraft. The flying adds to the heady sensations of marvelous starry nights, close encounters with lions and elephants in open vehicles, and sweet relaxation during memorable siestas around the lodge pool mid-day or around the campfire at night with a glass of fine wine.

The luxury lodges here are small and intimate while the remoteness breeds a sense of seclusion and offer unparalleled private interactions with wildlife. Activities here are more varied than many other safari destinations, with mokoro rides, game walks, boat safaris, fishing, and night game drives all possible plus traditional game drives.

The top settings here to see wildlife are in the Okavango Delta, Moremi Game Reserve, the Savuti, and Chobe National Park, with some travelers making the trip to experience the true Kalahari as well. Trips almost always include 1-3 nights to majestic Victoria Falls, an original natural wonder of the world. For travelers with more time, a visit to cosmopolitan Cape Town is a must-see.

Kenya is one of the least expensive safari destinations. Especially if a traveler is open to basic camping, Kenya provides excellent value. It is a lot like Tanzania only with more tourists yet also an expansive variety of parks to visit (such as the Maasai Mara, Amboseli, Samburu, Nakuru, and more). Nairobi is the major gateway and features more daily flight arrivals and departures than Tanzania.

"If a traveler has a passion for rhinos, in particular, Kenya makes a great choice. Game drives here are often in mini-vans with open hatches on top for viewing, and similar to Tanzania, most travelers get around by driving between safari parks," continues Mr. Crandall.

South Africa is an outstanding destination for a traveler who simply wants a taste of African wildlife coupled with a more varied urban and scenic experience, often combined with 2-3 nights in Victoria Falls.

On a South Africa trip, travelers often do a 10+ day trip that combines excellent wildlife viewing in a leading private game reserve (such as Sabi Sands or Thornybush), Cape Town, a leading city in the world, 2 nights in Victoria Falls (in either Zimbabwe or Zambia, the experience will be similar).

The best private reserves in South Africa are renowned for making seeing the Big 5 routine. It is remarkable! So even with just 4 days on safari, travelers get an excellent introduction to Africa's amazing wildlife.

For a less-traveled Africa experience, travelers expand to more "niche" locations like Uganda, Namibia, Zambia, or Southern Tanzania. However, travelers make their own calls all the time. It's countless how many people have visited Uganda first and not looked back, and we have travelers that do head to Southern Tanzania on first trips to Africa. There are no hard and fast rules.

Sometimes the destination is obvious, for example, to climb Kilimanjaro, then that makes choosing the destination very easy. Other ways to choose are when to travel (best times can vary slightly), specific wildlife or experiences that might be critical, and any personal special interests.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Adventures Within Reach
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Make a Difference Group Climbs Kilimanjaro to Help Local Tanzanian Children

Gina Galdabini, Paula Gambina, and Joey Villarreal will be climbing Kilimanjaro for charity in July 2018.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/25/2018 -- Climbing the tallest mountain in Africa is not your average adventure. In fact, it can be life changing. In July 2018, Gina Galdabini of Chicago, IL, Paula Gambina of Redondo Beach, CA, and Joey Villarreal of Los Angeles, CA will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (19,340 ft) on the 7-day Machame Route. They are raising money for Make A Difference (MAD) to make a difference in the lives of vulnerable youth.

The first week will be spent learning about the local Chagga culture and at the children's school. The second week will be spent climbing Africa's highest peak, followed by a safari to the famous Ngorongoro Crater. They plan to summit on July 9, 2018.

Mount Kilimanjaro, located three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. "Kilimanjaro is our hottest destination" says Robin Paschall, owner of Adventures Within Reach. "Of the famous 'Seven Summits,' this is the easiest to get to and the easiest to climb. It requires no technical climbing experience, and any moderately fit person can summit the mountain."

Also known as the Whiskey Route, the Machame Route is the second most popular route. It is a more difficult route but incredibly beautiful. Although the climb is not a technical climb, summit day is long, strenuous and at high elevation.

Hikers who choose to participate in MAD's Charity Hikes have many advantages over those who travel without supporting a cause. "We are very fortunate to not only have a great partnership with Adventures Within Reach," said Theresa Grant, Founder of MAD Inc. "We are also extremely honored to have a strong relationship with many of the local schools in Tanzania. The schools have been matching all of our donations, which in turn enables us to be more sustainable."

About Make A Difference (MAD)
Make A Difference provides quality educational opportunities for vulnerable children and youth in developing countries. It raises funds through charity hikes, sponsorship programs and matching funds.

New Trip! 7-Day Costa Rica Boutique Lodges

A beautiful boutique lodge experience in Costa Rica that travelers can customize to their interests, time frame, and budget.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/04/2018 -- Adventures Within Reach has added an amazing new trip to Costa Rica. This luxury boutique lodge adventure is particularly unique in that it starts and ends at the Liberia International Airport (LIR), situated in the northwestern corner of the country, saving time and money.

Dan Crandall, Costa Rica travel expert with Adventures Within Reach explains, "All trips are private, customizable, and can start on any day of the year. We can help with quotes for whatever option you would like."

While the dry season in Guanacaste province is typically from November through early May, travel in the rainy season is still a very pleasant experience since rains are typically limited to an afternoon thunderstorm, and then lighter rain at night while you sleep. Mornings are often sunny with fresh air following the gentler night rains.

The trip can be customized in several ways. One way is to add nights at one or both properties. Another option is to add a third destination such as the Osa Peninsula, Arenal Volcano or Montverde cloud forest. A third way is to consider alternative boutique properties. Among the finest luxury boutique properties in Costa Rica include Secrets Papagayo in Guanacaste, Hotel Capitan Suizo in Tamarindo, Arenas del Mar in Manuel Antonio, Almendros y Corales in Manzanillo, Le Cameleon in Puerto Viejo, and Bosque del Cabo Nature Lodge on the Osa Peninsula.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
AWR
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Gorilla Permit Fees Boost Travel to Uganda

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/04/2018 -- Last year, Rwanda increased its gorilla permit fees from $750 to $1500. Uganda has kept their gorilla permits at $600. A year later, Uganda is fast becoming the most popular destination to visit the mountain gorillas.

"Rwanda used to be the most popular destination for gorillas because of the shorter travel time," says Robin Paschall, Africa travel specialist with Adventures Within Reach. "However, since Rwanda has chosen to focus on the exclusive luxury market, travelers have started to look for other options."

The first option is to fly into Kigali, Rwanda, and drive to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park area in Uganda. This is about a 4-hour drive one-way, adding about 1.5 hours from the gorilla area in Rwanda. This trip can be done in as little as 3 days, but often it typically becomes 4 days with the timing of international flights. Gorilla trekking in Rwanda can be added with extra days. Travelers will need 2 visas for Rwanda and 1 for Uganda.

The second option is to fly into Entebbe, Uganda and fly to the Bwindi area. Flights are to either Kisoro or Kihihi depending on the availability of gorilla permits. There are many lodging options near Bwindi from budget to luxury. This trip can be done in 4-5 days.

The third option is to make Uganda your main destination and add activities like the chimpanzees, safari game drives to see the Big 5, and Murchison Falls on the Nile River. This trip takes about 12 days total.

Ms. Paschall explains, "This 'Uganda Grand Tour' route allows you to visit Uganda's Albertine Rift, and visit its most important protected areas including Murchsion Falls National Park, Kibale National Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impentrable Forest National Park. It includes plenty of wildlife, birds, chimpanzee, and gorilla viewing. Uganda is safe and friendly, so this is really an amazing trip!"

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Adventures Within Reach
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Chapada Diamantina is one of Brazil's most glorious national parks, with plenty of options for hiking and trekking through gorgeous valleys, mountain plateaus, and enchanting caves. The landscapes of Chapada Diamantina are so varied, you can climb plateaus, hike through jungles, and swim in waterfalls all in one day!

Gretchen Traut, South America Travel Specialist from Adventures Within Reach explains, "From snorkeling to kayaking, caving to diving, there are loads of activities to choose from."

Ms. Traut continues, "The best time to visit the park is roughly from May to September, when it's sunny, yet the lagoons are still full.
Baltimore Pediatrician Summits Kilimanjaro with Adventures Within Reach

Mariju Baluyot reached the summit of Kilimanjaro on February 17, 2018.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/02/2018 -- Mariju Baluyot, a pediatrician from Baltimore, Maryland, reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters / 19,340 ft.) on the 7-day Machame Route on February 17, 2018. Mount Kilimanjaro, located three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. To summit Kilimanjaro, Baluyot used adventure travel outfitter Adventures within Reach (adventureswithinreach.com).

Dr. Baluyot explains, "I first traveled to Tanzania as part of a medical volunteer group that I organized in summer 2012 when I was in medical school. I remember the descent into Tanzania when landing at Kilimanjaro airport and being able to see Kilimanjaro above the clouds. I spent all of my time volunteering at Mt. Meru Hospital in Arusha as well as a health dispensary in a nearby Maasai village, and I was disappointed that I did not have the time to climb Kilimanjaro during the trip. However, I knew I would return to Africa again at some point during my medical training. Luckily I had another opportunity this year, when I will be traveling this time to Kenya for 4 weeks to provide care for children in Nairobi and Samburu. My fiance will meet me in Nairobi and together we are traveling to Moshi to start our trek."

Kilimanjaro because while it is still challenging, it's somewhat manageable compared to many of the other major mountains. The Machame Route, also known as the Whiskey Route, is the second most popular route up Mt. Kilimanjaro, as it is a more difficult route, but incredibly beautiful. The trek is not a technical climb, but summit day is long, strenuous, and at an incredibly high elevation.

Dr. Baluyot describes her motivation, "I am currently in my last year of training in Pediatrics Residency at Johns Hopkins. I was initially drawn to the program because I felt a connection to someone who later great mentor to me, Dr. Janet Serwint. We talked about her climb up Kilimanjaro from several years prior and what a breathtaking experience it was. I also met Dr. Karen Schneider and learned of her yearly trip to Kenya with the Pediatrics residents and the Pediatric Emergency Department nurses. Through my interest in global health and caring for children in resource-poor areas I applied for and was awarded a travel grant last year. I feel privileged to be able to provide healthcare the international setting now that I have had more training and I hope to bring my experiences in this this upcoming trip with me when I continue on to the next phase my training in Pediatric Emergency Medicine next year."

"Mt. Kilimanjaro is our most popular trek," says Robin Paschall, owner of Adventures Within Reach. "Of the famous 'Seven Summits,' this is the easiest to get to and to climb. It requires no technical climbing experience, and a moderately fit person can summit the mountain with training and perseverance. Most people add a cultural tour like a safari before or after their trek. This is really a trip of a lifetime."

"It has been a bit challenging to train for a the climb during my residency training when I work long hours at the hospital on a regular basis. When I am at work I make sure that I take the stairs (usually 9-10 flights!) several times per day. Additionally, one of my hobbies when I am not working is going on local hikes with my fiance and friends in Maryland. I also make sure that I go on a challenging hike during almost all trips that I take, from New York, Ohio, Arizona, Hawaii, and even when I was in Aruba," continues Dr. Baluyot.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
AWR
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Adventures Within Reach Experts Explain How to Choose the "Right" Inca Trail Trek

Peru experts, who have done the different 5-day, 4-day and 2-day Inca Trail Trek options, explain which one is the best option.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/02/2018 -- Many travelers decide they want to hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu. However, there are a number of options to choose from, and it can be hard to chose the right one.

Gretchen Trout of Adventures Within Reach (AWR) explains, "The 5 and 2-day are definitely best in comparison to the 4-day. Although if you have the time and stamina, the 5 is in first place!" The 5-day is designed in a way where trekkers are not walking on the trail when most other tour companies are on the trail. Also, the last day does not feel like such an exhausting rush.

In the 4-day, on the final day of trekking, hikers have to wake up at 3AM and, in the dark, wait in line along the trail to get through the gate to the main Machu Picchu sanctuary. Hikers don't get to see the trail that day because they are walking in the dark. Barbara Colliander of AWR says, "You get to Machu Picchu at sunrise and then you have the tour of the city when you are feeling very gritty and tired."

On the 5-day trek, hikers wake up on your fourth morning at a regular time and enjoy the day. There is no line to wait in to get into the sanctuary. Trekkers arrive at Machu Picchu through the Sun Gate in the afternoon when almost no one is there before walking down through Machu Picchu (get a first taste) and then continue to Aguas Calientes where a hotel room waiting with a hot shower and fresh clothes. Ms. Colliander explains, "You get to rest that night and then, when you're feeling fresh, you get to go back up to Machu Picchu on day 5 to have the tour that day (and, if you're ambitious, you can add Hauyna Picchu peak that day too)."

The 2-day Inca Trail is the same as the last two days of the 5-day Inca Trail option.

Ms. Trout continues, "To summarize, we like the 5 and 2-day options as you are not rushed, you are not with so many crowds and you get the maximum amount of time in Machu Picchu."

Debbie Mcleod summited Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa, on March 8, 2018 with 5 travel companions.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/27/2018 -- Climbing the tallest mountain in Africa is not your average adventure. In fact, it can be life changing. On March 8, 2018, Debbie McLeod, of Drexel Hill, PA, successfully reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet / 5,895 meters). She was hiking the mountain with 5 other companions, including her husband and her brother, on the 6-day Machame Route.

McLeod said of her experience, "Our Kilimanjaro guide, Kibacha, absolutely could not have been better. He seemed to have eyes in the back of his head. If he was talking to one of us he would always be looking out and keeping an eye on the others noticing slippery areas etc.

We felt completely safe and secure under his guidance and he got us to the top! The porters were polite and kind and accommodating. The food was delicious, and we all marveled that we had the biggest tents of any camp that we stayed in. It was the trip of a lifetime and we were all truly so very happy!"

McLeod and her husband have always enjoyed climbing mountains. Many years ago, they attempted to climb Mount Whitney, the highest mountain in the lower 48 states, located in California (~14,500 feet tall). But the altitude prevented them from reaching the summit. When McLeod and her husband returned to Mt. Whitney with McLeod's brother, several years ago, they spent two nights acclimatizing and successfully summited.

As for climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, McLeod always knew they were going to, "some day," but then her brother suggested doing it sooner than later. Their decision to climb Kili in March 2018 was based on their grueling January 2017 ascent of Mount Orizaba in Mexico, which is the third highest mountain in North America. Although they did not summit, McLeod said she was proud of "what had been accomplished and how far we had pushed ourselves." McLeod is looking forward to climbing Mount Rainier in Washington state after climbing Mt. Killimanjaro.

Mt. Kilimanjaro, or "Kili" for short, located three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. Mcleod and her group will climb the Machame Route, otherwise known as the "Whiskey" route. The Machame route is the second most popular route and one of the most scenic routes on the mountain. All the trekking routes on Kilimanjaro are non-technical and can be accomplished by anyone in reasonably good physical condition. "Kilimanjaro is our hottest destination," says Robin Paschall, owner of Adventures Within Reach. "Of the famous 'Seven Summits,' Kili is the easiest to get to and to climb. Most people add a cultural tour like a safari and some choose to enhance their experience by choosing our luxury trek option. But no matter how one does it, summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro is truly a trip of a lifetime."

Following their climb, McLeod and her group embarked on a 2-Day Safari including Lake Manyara and the Ngorongoro Crater where they saw many of the classic animals of East Africa. Debbie explains, "On safari we had Godlisten as our guide. He was absolutely wonderful, personable, and accommodating. The Endoro Lodge was amazing. Truly the nicest hotel that I think any of us have ever stayed in! The safari was excellent, and we saw most of the animals that you can see in the Crater."

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Adventures Within Reach
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Why Pick Adventures Within Reach for Climbing Kilimanjaro

For Kilimanjaro, Adventures Within Reach has better guides, better equipment and better meals than the competition. AWR operates on a higher level of safety and is more environmentally and socially responsible, all at a competitive price. Join the thousands of climbers who have stood on the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro!

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/05/2018 -- Climbing Kilimanjaro is a once in a lifetime vacation, and travelers want to have the very best experience possible. The guide company will be the biggest factor in achieving the goal of climbing Kilimanjaro.

These are the main areas to look at when selecting a Kilimanjaro guide company:

1) Safety & Experience
2) Guides
3) Equipment
4) Food
5) Responsible Travel
6) Customer Service
7) Price

With Adventures Within Reach, safety is the highest priority. "Our guides, equipment, food, and customer service are of a higher standard than our competition," says Robin Paschall of AWR. "We offer all this at a competitive price. This combination results in very high summit success rates."

1. Safety & Experience

AWR has been offering Kilimanjaro treks for over 17 years. The sales staff has climbed Kilimanjaro on multiple routes, so they can answer the hardest questions.

All treks have a pulse oximeter, which measures pulse rate and oxygen saturation. The Kilimanjaro guide will test oxygen levels at least twice a day. This measurement is one way to see how well trekker are acclimatizing on the trek.

The AWR Kilimanjaro guides are certified Wilderness First Responders (WFR). They receive ongoing training in first aid and acute mountain sickness (AMS) so that they are up-to-date on the best ways to treat injuries and sickness.

All guides carry a phone for emergency use. Oxygen and hyperbaric bags are available to rent on the treks.

2. Guides

As on any trip, the guide really makes the difference in an amazing experience. The AWR guides are selected on their history of experience, safety, trek management, mountain knowledge, leadership abilities, and personality.

The Kili treks have 1 lead guide and 1 assistant guide for every 4 people (a 1:2 ratio).

Kilimanjaro guides are trained and certified by the Kilimanjaro National Park. They start out as porters and work their way up to assistant guide. When they are ready to advance to a lead guide, they go through the national park certification process. They also go through additional training like Wilderness First Responders (WFR), first aid, acute mountain sickness (AMS), and customer service.

3. Equipment

AWR takes Kilimanjaro equipment very seriously and make sure everything is in good working order.

- Tents: 3-person dome-style 4-season mountain tents for 2 people (Mountain Hardware or similar) with 4 poles to withstand high winds.
- Sleeping pad (non-inflatable 2-inch pad with nylon cover)
- Oximeter (1 per group)
- Spacious dining tent, dining table, and stools
- Cooking utensils, equipment, and supplies
- Eating dishes and utensils
- Wash basins and soap

Equipment is selected to provide a comfortable experience on the trek.

4. Food

On the mountain, trekkers are served breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, and dinner. All meals are hot, including lunches if the weather allows. AWR uses fresh, local food that is plentiful and delicious. It is resupplied mid-trek. The chef is continually improving the menu to offer variety and nutrition including ample protein. They cater to special diets including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free.

Water is boiled in the morning and evening to refill water containers with safe water to drink.

5. Responsible Travel

Adventures Within Reach is a partner of the Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project (KPAP). This is an independent non-profit that oversees the proper treatment of porters on Kilimanjaro (wages, clothing, weight limits, food, shelter, etc.).

6. Customer Service

In the end, a good travel experience is all about the people. AWR tries to respond to all requests and questions within 24 hours. "We can accommodate special requests (special diets, customized itineraries, celebrations, etc.). We have options to fit your budget — lower cost group treks up to luxury Kilimanjaro treks," Robin Paschall explains.

AWR has been offering Kilimanjaro treks for over 17 years. The sales staff has climbed Kilimanjaro on multiple routes, so we can answer questions and explain honestly what is it really like.

7. Price

Climbing Kilimanjaro is not a cheap trip, so trekkers want to have the best experience without overpaying.

Adventures Within Reach is a mid-priced operator — not the cheapest and not the most expensive — but also a great value for the price. There is no need to pay double the price for the same services. Low priced operators will cut corners on safety, equipment, food, and often treat porters very poorly.

Choosing the Best Fit for You

Climbing Kilimanjaro is a demanding, challenging feat. To succeed on the mountain, it is imperative that climbers are guided by an experienced outfitter, with proven competence, reliability and safety.

The guide service is the single most important factor in determining the success of a climb.

Adventures Within Reach has been getting trekkers to the summit of Kilimanjaro since 2000. Though there are several hundred tour operators offer Kilimanjaro climbs, only a handful can be considered reputable.

Family Reach New Heights Together by Climbing Kilimanjaro

Rick and Rianne Chimblo from Tuscon, Arizona, Teal Chimblo-Fyrberg of Asheville, North Carolina and Boulder, Colorado, and Chris Chimblo of Fort Collins, Colorado come together to climb the highest mountain in Africa.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/29/2018 -- The Chimblo family, Rick, Rianne, Teal, and Chris will be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro (5,895 meters / 19,340 ft.) on the 7-day Machame Route at the end of January 2018. Mount Kilimanjaro, located three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa, and the highest freestanding mountain in the world. To summit Mt. Kilimanjaro, Chimblos will be using adventure travel outfitter Adventures within Reach (adventureswithinreach.com).

Why Kilimanjaro? "As a Family, we see summiting Kilimanjaro as an opportunity for personal growth and adventure, and a way to share an epic experience together," explains Teal Chimblo-Fyrberg. "Our family loves hiking, traveling and being in nature. None of us have been to Africa before, and we are as excited about exploring this beautiful land and meeting its people as we are about our big hike."

The Machame Route, also known as the Whiskey Route, is the second most popular route up Mt. Kilimanjaro, as it is a more difficult route, but incredibly beautiful. The trek is not a technical climb, but summit day is long, strenuous, and at an incredibly high elevation. Nonetheless, "Mt.

Kilimanjaro is not only the "Roof of Africa," it is the fourth highest of the Seven Summits on our planet. "We are not technical mountaineers, so the opportunity to summit a major mountain with just the power of our strong hearts and bodies is a dream come true," Teal continues.

They have been hiking the mountains of Arizona, North Carolina and Colorado for more than ten years. Some of the highlights of hikes they have made together with family to prepare for Kilimanjaro:

- Mount Pisgah (5722 feet) in the Appalachian Mountain Range in North Carolina
- Mount Mitchell (6684 feet), the highest peak of the Appalachian Mountains
- Horsetooth Mountain (7260 feet) in Colorado
- Machu Picchu Mountain (7972 feet) in Peru
- Pachamama Peak (13,576 feet) near Lake Titicaca, Peru
- Ipsaycocha Pass (14,764 feet) on the Lares Trail in Peru
- Apachete Pass (15,026 feet) on the Salkantay Trail in Peru

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Penns Manor High School Graduate Summits Mt. Kilimanjaro

James Zerfoss, of Pittsburgh, PA, reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro with Adventures Within Reach.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/27/2017 -- On September 24, 2017, James Zerfoss, of Pittsburgh, PA, reached the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet / 5,895 meters). Kilimanjaro is one of the world's highest peaks. James completed this amazing accomplishment on the 6-day Machame Route (http://www.adventureswithinreach.com/tanzania/kilimanjaro/overview.php?trip=6-day-Machame-Route).

James Zerfoss believes that it is important to live life to the fullest. That is at the heart of his inspiration to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. One day, while reading an article about people's deepest regrets in life, James noted that the article pointed out not traveling enough was people's number one regret. Reading this led James to book a trip with Adventures Within Reach to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro. James is a world traveler who has traveled to 45 countries and lived in Asia from 2005-2011. His favorite trips were to Salvador, Brazil, and Peru and he has been to Mt. Everest base camp. James plans to summit Mt. Aconcagua on the Argentina/Chile border.

Kilimanjaro is a dormant volcano and the tallest freestanding mountain on earth. It has distinct vegetation zones including farmland, forest, heather/moorland, alpine desert, and arctic.

"Climbing Kilimanjaro is a very popular Bucket List trip," says Robin Paschall, owner of Adventures Within Reach. "The Machame Route is one of the most best routes on the mountain. With our incredible guides and support crew, we have a very high success rate to the summit. It is truly an accomplishment of a lifetime."

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Adventures Within Reach
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Adventures Within Reach Adds the Camino De Santiago to Worldwide Treks

Offering 1-week lodge-to-lodge group or self-guided pilgrimage -- the French Way in 3-star accommodations and the Portuguese Coastal Route in 3-star or 4-5 star lodging.

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/26/2017 -- Adventures Within Reach (AWR) is excited to introduce one of the quintessential treks in Europe -- the Camino de Santiago! This is a fantastic trip as the treks go from lodge to lodge, take about one week, and are a great combination of culture and activity.

The Camino de Santiago ("Way of St. James") is a pilgrimage ending at the Santiago de Compostela Cathedral in Santiago, Spain. You need to hike at least 100km (62 miles) on the pilgrimage to get your Compostela certificate.

Robin Paschall, President of AWR, explains, "We will be offering two of the most popular routes on the Camino -- the French Way and the Portuguese Coastal Route. You will walk an average of 20km/day hiking from village to village, spending the night in local guest houses or hotels with private rooms. Your luggage is moved for you from lodge to lodge, so you just carry a day pack."

It is a very social experience with great culture. Breakfast and dinner is enjoyed at the lodge where you are spending the night, and lunches are at one of the villages along the way.

There are many Camino de Santiago routes. The "French Way" is the most popular. AWR is offering the 111km route from Sarria to Santiago. There are typically 6 days of hiking, but you can add more days.

They are also offering the "Portuguese Way" which runs north along the coast of Portugal for 123km. This route has options for a luxury lodge upgrade and also women-only groups.

These two routes are offered in three different styles:

1. Group departure with trekking guide
2. Private trip with trekking guide
3. Self-guided trek

Group tours in 2018 are $995/person on set departure dates, and self-guided tours are $945/person on the French Way and the Portuguese Way. The luxury Portuguese trip is $1295/person.

Ms. Paschall continues, "This is a quintessential trek in Europe. Everyone should have this on their Bucket List!"

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Adventures Within Reach
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/

Patryce Hodges, Diana Bosetti, and Blaze Bhence Reach Summit of Kilimanjaro

Group summits Kilimanjaro on October 1, 2017 via the 7-day Lemosho Route

Sun Valley, ID -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/05/2017 -- Climbing the tallest mountain in Africa is not your average adventure. In fact, it can be life changing. On October 1, 2017, Patryce Hodges, Blaze Bhence, and Diana Bosetti of Cypress, California, summited Mount Kilimanjaro (19,340 feet / 5,895 meters) via the 7-day Lemosho Route (http://adventureswithinreach.com/tanzania/kilimanjaro/overview.php?trip=7-day-Lemosho-Route). Mt. Kilimanjaro, located three degrees south of the equator in northeastern Tanzania, is the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest freestanding mountain in the world.

But no matter how one does it, climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro is truly a trip of a lifetime."

Bhence told Adventures Within Reach that two years ago, he had been diagnosed with stage 4 renal cancer and given six months to live. He had surgery in October 2015 and two years after that surgery, will attempt to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. He said of climbing Kili, "Bucket lists take on a whole new meaning when you look death in the face. Friends get you through amazing situations."

Hodges explained her decision to do a Kilimanjaro trek this way. About 4 years ago, Hodges decided to become physically fit, and lost 80-plus pounds. She started running and hiking. With one of her hiking partners, Hodges hiked Mt. Baldy numerous times throughout the last two years and successfully summited Mt. Whitney last October after her father passed away. She said that, "summiting Mt. Whitney so close after losing one of my most favorite people made the summit even more special, and I was hooked." Hodges was interested in climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro, but she had no one to go with, that is, until a church friend asked her to go with her out of the blue.

Following their climb, the group embarked on a 7-Day Tanzania Safari (http://adventureswithinreach.com/tanzania/safari/itinerary.php?trip=7-day-Tanzania-Safari), which took them to Tanzania's best areas for wildlife viewing. They visited Tarangire, a beautiful park filled with Baobabs and Acacias with a large variety of game such as zebras, elephants, giraffes, and waterbuck, the Ngorongoro crater, which is abundant with wild game including elephants, rhinos, cheetahs, lions, leopards, and hyenas, and the Serengeti, Tanzania's most famous and largest national park and one of the most spectacular parks in the world. The "endless plains" of the Serengeti cover some 14,763 square kilometers including large plains, short grass plains, kopjes, and lakes.

Bhence is also looking forward to venturing into the Serengeti to search for amazing wildlife. He says thanks to "my family, my friends, UCLA Medical, Dr. Chamie, and many others who made this possible."

Hodges thanks her husband for his support, her hiking partner for his friendship and encouragement, and her friend and her husband for allowing her to share this special time.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Robin Paschall
Telephone: 303-500-5047
Email: Click to Email Robin Paschall
Web: http://adventureswithinreach.com/
