Proud Asia 2008 awaits more suitable date

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/05/2007 -- Despite the strong show of support from both the government and the private sector, Production Management & Services Co., Ltd. and IMPACT Management Co., Ltd, the organizers of Proud Asia 2008, decided that it is only necessary to postpone the holding of the event on 20-23 March 2008 in consideration of the current unclear political and economic directions in Thailand.

Touted to be a grand international trade exhibition and conference on medical tourism, spa and wellness industries, Proud Asia 2008 has already attracted a good number of international and local exhibitors who have already committed to participate, including the local and international media who have greatly contributed in promoting the event that has led to the initial success in the early stage of its preparation. However, many of them have expressed increasing concerns over some unclear political and economic directions that may pose serious risk on the overall success of the event as several exhibitors have already expressed second thoughts about their participation.

"It is most appropriate to put the event on hold as the situations in Thailand seemed to have taken a toll on the confidence of exhibitors and prospective visitors of this event. It is only unfortunate that we have to do this even though the government and the major players in medical tourism industry have all provided their support in holding Proud Asia 2008 in an effort to promote Thailand as the region's medical tourism hub. This grand international exhibition was also meant to lead related industries to develop, compete, and do business together while also enhancing the reputation of Asia among other regions in the world," explained Ms. Natprapa, Managing Director of Production Management & Services Co., Ltd.

She also reiterated that Thailand has edge in terms of having the required expertise in its human resources, the available modern technology here and attractive tourist spots would have been the biggest pull of that would make the country as the business center of industries involved in medical tourism, spa and wellness. However, the country is now facing some political issues, including an upcoming election.

"Holding the event at a later date but at the most proper time would only ensure an overwhelming success of Proud Asia and we know that we will receive the same kind of initial support we have already been given," added Ms. Natprapa.

A new program with the detailed agenda will be released later.

Thai Government Gives All-out Support to Proud Asia 2008

Organizers gear up for grander event to make Thailand as Asia’s hub in medical tourism, spa and wellness industries

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/05/2007 -- Responding to the popular requests from numerous exhibitors and prospective visitors following the announcement of the holding Proud Asia—the first international trade exhibition & conference on medical tourism, spa and wellness Industries— the organizers have decided to plan a bigger, better and grander exhibition event on 20 to 23 March 2008 at Hall 9 of IMPACT Convention Center Muangthong Thani as it gets the full support from the government under its 2008 policy in promoting medical tourism, thereby ensuring the success of this international exhibition.

The organizers are also confident that by that time, Thailand will be more stable, both in terms of political and economic situation. At the same time, the event would be taking advantage of March being Thailand's peak tourist season.

Ms. Natprapa Yokputtaraksa, Managing Director of Production Management & Services Co., Ltd. revealed that rescheduling the event, which will now be "Proud Asia 2008", is in line with the government's policy and it will stand as a clear proof of the efforts being made in the first stage of the programs to support medical tourism.

"The move will also provide for a longer period of preparations for a bigger and grander event to maximize the opportunities for both the exhibitors and visitors. Currently, countries such Singapore, Malaysia and the Philippines have confirmed their participation in next year's event in March," Ms. Natprapa said.

The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA) has likewise thrown its full support in staging the event in March next year.

"Holding the event in March 2008 is the most logical move since that period is Thailand's peak season in terms of tourist arrival. This would only mean that more visitors are coming and the more exhibitors would be able to join," said Mr. Sangiam Ekachote, Communication & Public Relations Committee.

"Now, the leading JCI-accredited (Joint Commission International) private hospitals are already included in our prestigious list of participating establishments assuring world-class standards in the services to be offered in March next year. Many who are also in the stage of receiving the JCI standard have also confirmed as exhibitors. These only means more confidence in the standards we are providing to open up more business opportunities while visitors will have many more choices of high standard services from different private hospitals," added Ms. Natprapa.

Proud Asia 2008 is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Tourism Authority of Thailand, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Thai Spa Association, Thai Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Surgery, The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand, The Federation of Thai Spa and Spa Wellness Association Singapore.
Thailand Gears Up to be Asia's Hub in Medical Tourism, Spa and Wellness

Heath Tourism generates more income with government backing
as Proud Asia 2007 boosts business opportunities for private sector

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/02/2007 -- A steadily growing number of foreigners seeking medical services in Thailand has proven the country's vast potential in the health service sector while adding another appeal as a favorite tourist destination in Asia. To keep up with the impressive growth which now averages over a million annual tourist arrivals and recording some 40 billion Baht per year from health tourism alone, the government and private sectors are joining hands in an aggressive campaign to support Proud Asia 2007, the 1st international trade exhibition & conference on medical tourism, spa & wellness industries on 27-30 September at the Hall 9, IMPACT Convention Center in Muangthong Thani.

As full preparation for Thailand to become Asia's hub in said industries, Proud Asia 2007 is expected to be the largest gathering of local and international exhibitors from all over the region and beyond. Some 300 exhibitors and 15,000 visitors from Singapore, Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, Australia and Japan are expected to showcase the uniqueness of what their respective country has to offer in medical tourism, spa and wellness industries.

Mrs. Yearayong Chairut, Assistant Executive Director in the Product Promotion Department of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) expressed confidence that Thailand is more than ready to claim the title, saying, "Health concern is now a world trend. Medical tourism and spa are among the country's 'major attractions' being offered by TAT to the world because of their high standard and quality. That's why our health services with Thai way have been increasingly popular in world market."

The recorded number of tourists and the income generated by these industries are still expected to rise every year as more medical tourists are turning to Thailand's high quality yet less expensive products and services, including physical surgical procedures which have become well-known among other countries.

Dr. Kamol Wattanakrai, the Secretary General of The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, added, "Our surgeons have proven their outstanding performance in these fields. Aside from the lower cost of services, the tourists get additional chance to travel and shop at the same time. Their total expense here is far less than what they have to pay if they go to Europe and USA.

Supporting the medical and wellness sector is another of Thailand's flagship industry, the spa business group.

Dr. Paiboon Pilan-owat, President of The Federation of Thai Spa, said that Thai spa industry has long been recognized all over the world for its uniqueness and now, it is a major contributor to the national economy.

"Thai Spa covers all range of industries starting from the local herbs being used to the spa products. This industry has generated jobs to local people and good revenues to Thailand," Dr. Paiboon noted.

Also supporting TAT in promoting Thailand as the region's medical and health tourism hub is the Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA).

Represented by Mr. Sangiam Ekachote, Communication & Public Relations Committee, ATTA believed that it has never been difficult for Thailand to claim such title and it has never been difficult for their group to sell the country as such to those requiring the best hospital and other medical facilities.

"Thailand has excellent potentialities for being the hub in medical tourism. The private hospitals in Thailand are staffed by highly qualified medical staff and equipped with the latest technology which adds a new dimension to its tradition of hospitality. There are overseas trained doctors and specialists while multilingual staff ensure that there are no communication barriers,"

The industry has also gone with the trend of having many private hospitals establish partnerships with first-class hotels to raise the standards of medical facilities.

"Hotel standard hospitals and warm hospitality are important elements that have impressed tourists. Most importantly, the combined treatment and holidays with a far cheaper package than an ordinary holiday package offered by other countries is the most attractive factor, Mr. Sangiam added.

Proud Asia 2007 is supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Tourism authority of Thailand, Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB), Thai Spa Association, Thai Society of Cosmetic Dermatology & Surgery, The Association of Thai Travel Agents (ATTA), The Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons of Thailand, The Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons of Thailand, The Federation of Thai Spa and Spa Wellness Association Singapore. asiaSpa is the exclusive publication for Proud Asia 2007 with Beauty Cosmedica, Nation Beauty Magazine, Spa Life Magazine, HOTEL Management Magazine, Spa Magazine, Siam Paradise, Herb for Health as supporting publications.

BioAsia 2007 Thailand Expects to Attract over 15,000 Visitors Worldwide

Thailand hopes to be one of the key players in biotechnology advancements

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/22/2006 -- Over 5,000 visitors and another 2,000 biotech experts and seminar attendees are expected to participate at "BioAsia 2007 Thailand" which goes into full swing with the recent signing ceremony to co-host Thailand's first international biotechnology conference and exhibition event which will be held from November 7-9, 2007 at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), Bangkok.

S.L.M. Management Co., Ltd., and the National Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (BIOTEC) held a joint press conference on 8 December to announce the two companies' efforts in hosting the event which aims to promote Thailand as a regional biotechnology development hub under the National Biotechnology Policy Framework (2004 – 2009). Visitors from over 20 countries will have an opportunity to establish networks that will bring about the emergence of modern biotechnology business.

The scientific conference in 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' will give emphasis on agricultural biotechnologies. In conjunction with BioAsia 2007 are two additional key conferences: the 6th Asian Crop Science Association Conference and the 2nd International Conference on Rice for the Future. Both conferences aim to encourage both government agencies and private sector to apply biotechnology research and development to agricultural business and promote it to farmers.

Prof. Dr. Yongyuth Yuthavong, Minister of Science and Technology and the president of the signing ceremony said that Thailand has taken necessary steps to implement biotechnology development under the National Policy and to apply their results in industrial setting.

Prof. Dr. Yongyuth indicated that it is necessary for the government to provide support to the private sector group since they are aware of market needs. He went on to inform the Thailand is aiming to welcome 100 biotechnology companies with a total R&D investment estimated at 5 billion baht by the year 2009. Prof. Dr. Yongyuth was pleased to see the government and the private sector co-hosting 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' as a platform for cooperation and knowledge exchange, while also encouraging cross-border investments in biotechnology.

"The Thai government will provide basic infrastructure support by setting up the Bio-Park as the information center for bio business, including financial assistance measures and benefits to persuade foreign investors. These measures include tax benefits to push for more research & development activities or STI and to provide human resource support in the field of science and technology through universities," said Prof. Dr. Yongyuth.

Dr. Saksit Tridech, Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Science and Technology, also delivered a speech at the signing ceremony saying, "Thailand is considered ASEAN's leader in biotechnology. This has been proven as the Minister of Science and Technology was selected President of ASEAN Committee on Science and Technology from 2000-2002. In his tenure, Prof. Dr. Yongyuth was instrumental in pushing the 'ASEAN-help-ASEAN' policy to its members' agenda by supporting new members such as Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam in their technological and human resources development. Since 2001, Thailand has also been providing research funds so these countries can attend training at BIOTEC Research Center. This project has been generally admired by all ASEAN members and international organizations and had gained strong support from countries such as China, Japan and India where there are advancement in biotechnology. Hosting 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' will not only be a regional pride but will also show Thailand's leadership in forging cooperation in biotechnology among the ASEAN community in both scientific conference and exhibition."

Ms. Nonglak Jitjeankhan, Marketing Director of S.L.M. Management Co., Ltd., said that "S.L.M. has seen Thailand as a world-class location for biotechnology industry because of its abundant biodiversity resources to support scientific development. The National Biotechnology Framework was established in 2004 and it aims to bring about an emergence of more biotechnology companies and more financial investments for biotechnology research and development by 2009. This is the very reason we organize the 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' under the support of BIOTEC, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and TCEB. We want to set up the stage for a Conference & Exhibition of 200 international biotechnology firms from all over the globe. We believe that 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' will promote the Kingdom as a top destination for international biotechnology investment opportunity."

Prof. Dr. Morakot Tanticharoen, Director of BIOTEC said, "The Scientific Conference & Exhibition for biotechnology has been taking place every two years since 2001 and much success has been recorded in the past. S.L.M. Management realizes the potential opportunity in biotechnology business as 'BioAsia 2007 Thailand' takes this event to an international-level conference/exhibition, much like those in countries like Japan, the U.S., and Singapore where there is great advancement in biotechnology. Participants from the private sector can also use this event to widen their business networks and enhance business opportunities.

"We have currently received a good response from ten leading biotechnology scientists on agriculture who have confirmed their participation as key speakers for the conference. Their participation will greatly enhance the success and attract more visitors from around the world," Prof. Dr. Morakot said.

Mr. Vithaya Sintharapantorn, Sector Director – Exhibitions, Thailand Convention & Exhibition Bureau also extended his message on behalf of TCEB. "We are glad to support 'BioAsia 2007' which will take Thailand to another level in biotechnology researches and in innovative exhibition.TCEB has seen this opportunity as an ideal venue for the gathering of biotechnology experts to present their researches through an international conference. This also helps Thailand gain a reputation as leader in sustainable biotechnology development in the region while promoting the Kingdom as ideal destination for international Conferences & Exhibitions in the region, providing the best quality in services, in line with TCEB and the government's commitment."

"BioAsia 2007 Thailand' is also set up to honor His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand and promote his visionary works on science such as the Bio-Diesel project, which is the national pride, in connection with the celebration of his 80th Birth Anniversary," Mr. Vithaya added.

Thailand Initiates Efforts to Be Asia's Leading Wakeboarding Sport Destination

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/02/2006 -- Thailand is set to show off again its ability to hold another world-class sport competition with the hosting of the final leg of the 3rd Asian Wakeboard Pro Tour from November 25-26, 2006, expecting the largest gathering of wakeboarders from across the region and beyond.

With the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) in full support of making the Kingdom a popular destination for wakeboarding competitions, holidays and trainings, the Asian Wakeboard Association has decided to celebrate its third year of success by holding the final stop of the tour at TE Wake & Ski, Prathum Thani, Thailand. The first two stops were held in Japan and Singapore, and the group has scheduled the event to be held annually every fall.

"TAT's support for the 3rd Asian Wakeboard Pro Tour is part of the project 'Thailand Grand Invitation 2006', and this event provides one of the most exciting water sports wakeboarding. This aims to draw and entertain both Thai and foreign tourists and let them experience sports tourism at TE Wake & Ski, a venue of high international wakeboard lake standards," said Ms. Pensuda Priaram, Deputy Governor for Tourism Products and acting Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.

The competition is highly unique, as it features a spectacular mixture of snowboarding, skating, surfing and even skateboarding—all using a specially designed boat. The game is one that demands great performance, strength, speed, endurance and coordination. The boat actually has ballast tanks to increase its weight to produce a bigger wake. The wake then becomes a launching pad for acrobatic movements which are performed on a single board—the wakeboard, with its two high-wrap bindings.

This year's event will have 60 professional wakeboarders coming from Japan, Korea, Singapore, Hongkong and Europe, and expects some 2,000 Thai and foreign spectators. TE Wake & Ski will be providing excellent facilities for this competition.

"TE Wake & Ski also provides wakeboarding sport and tutor services. Every year, it welcomes the national wakeboarding teams to stage their practices for international competition. Being a venue known for its high international wakeboard lake standards, it has been selected by the Asian Wakeboard Association to host this year's last leg competition," remarked Mr. Geoffrey Penn, the Managing Director of Total Entertainment Co., Ltd., and TE Wake & Ski.

With the growing popularity of wakeboarding since it started in the mid-1980s, it is estimated that there are now over 30 million participants all over the world, and Asia counts a huge number of these especially after the establishment of the Asian Wakeboard Association in 2004.

It not only promises to be a competition but a weekend full of fun and excitement. Aside from the main event, there will also be an amazing show by the musical band and DJ.
About TE Wake & Ski – Total Entertainment Co., Ltd.
Situated 60/1 Moo 6, Tam Bon Kok Chang, Amphoe Bangsai, Ayutthaya 13190, TE Wake & Ski is one of Thailand's only three wakeboarding sites which is closest to downtown Bangkok. It has provided tutoring and wakeboarding challenge activities by professional Asian and European wakeboarders for Thai and foreign customers for over two years now. Its objective is to promote wakeboarding amongst Thai youth to encourage them to challenge in the international tournaments.

About Wakeboarding
Wakeboarding is the latest evolution of waterskiing sports. Wakeboarding started in the mid 1980's. Wakeboarding is the fastest growing water sport in the world. With the growing popularity of wakeboarding, it is estimated that there are now over 30 million participants all over the world and Asia counts a huge number of these especially after the establishment of the Asian Wakeboard Association in 2004. The experience is a cross between mono-skiing and surfing, but it's a real synergy of the two, not imitation of either. This element of the Asian Wakeboard Pro Tour is a spectacular mixture of Snow Boarding, Skating, Surfing and even Skateboarding – but it all takes place behind a special purpose designed boat. The boat actually has on board ballast tanks to increase its weight to produce a bigger wake. The wake becomes a launching pad for acrobatic movements which are performed on a single board, the Wakeboard, with its two high wrap bindings. The Rider is allowed one fall during his/her two passes and the Judges award points for three different and distinct elements – execution, intensity and composition. What this simply means is technical difficulty, how big each trick is and what variety is delivered. The Rider who produces the highest score wins.

Games Convention Asia 2007

Singapore's First International Showcase for International Entertainment, Infotainment, Edutainment, Hadrware & Technology

Singapore -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/14/2006 -- The very first GCA Games Convention Asia will be held in Singapore from 7–9 September 2007. The Leipzig Fair, the organiser of GC (Games Convention) – Europe's biggest show in the industry – has granted Singaporean organisers CEMS (Conference & Exhibition Management Services Pte Ltd) the right to use the name 'Games Convention'. Yet although the new exhibition will be based on the highly successful Leipzig GC, the Leipzig Fair's CEO and President Wolfgang Marzin stressed that: "GCA is an exhibition for the Asia–Pacific market that is being developed by CEMS in conjunction with LMI Leipziger Messe International GmbH, a subsidiary of the Leipzig Fair operating abroad."

GCA Games Convention Asia will be the only exhibition in the region to reflect the trends of the rapidly expanding Asian electronic games market. As well as showcasing the latest computer games and hardware, it will also feature entertaining information, media education and dazzling events for the general public. The organisers expect about 200 exhibitors from the Asia–Pacific region – mainly China, Japan, Korea, Singapore and India – to take part in the exhibition's debut. Moreover, the show is set to draw more than 100,000 visitors from Singapore and the neighbouring region, including 5,000 trade visitors. The organisers' aim is to firmly establish what will be the Asia–Pacific region's biggest exhibition devoted to digital media, computer games, entertainment and educational software as well as hardware. The venue will be the Suntec International Convention & Business Centre in the country's capital Singapore.

GCA Games Convention Asia will be officially supported by the EDB (Economic Development Board, which spearheads economic growth in Singapore), IDA (Infocomm Development Authority, the country's IT and telecoms agency), MDA (Media Development Authority), SECB (Singapore Exhibition & Convention Bureau) and SiTF (Singapore infocomm Technology Federation) along with leading Singaporean business organisations such as the DMC (Digital Media Chapter), GXA (Games eXchange Alliance) and SGGA (Singapore Gamers' Association).

In Wolfgang Marzin's view, this cooperation with CEMS is an opportunity to participate in a growth market. During the contract signing he declared: "The global networking in telecommunications, the friendly business climate in Singapore, the strict, reliable laws protecting intellectual property, and the strong media and digital entertainment market all make Singapore increasingly attractive to companies in the electronic games industry. We believe that GCA 2007 will be an outstanding B2B forum attracting exhibitors and visitors from all the ASEAN states and Asia's three key markets: China, India and Korea. GCA is a neutral, unique platform for effective communication and initiating business contacts."

Speaking about the forthcoming exhibition premiere, CEMS's Managing Director Edward Liu said: "GCA Games Convention Asia 2007 will spotlight the growth of the local digital media and games market, and also strengthen international perception of Singapore as the region's games axis. It will provide insights into the state of the art of games technologies and solutions. Furthermore, it will enable our own innovative solutions and applications to be demonstrated to international buyers."

Thomas Lim, the Director of the infocomm Development Authority, added: "If Singapore is to be perceived as a centre of games development and marketing, we have to make creative use of state-of-the-art technologies and support GCA Games Convention Asia. The Asian games market is growing, and we intend to make Singapore the region's trading centre for this market. As far as we're concerned, GCA Games Convention Asia is a central part of this strategy."

Aroon Tan, Chairman of the Games Xchange Alliance, expects GCA to generate new business for the companies in his organisation: "By bringing together the complementary services of its members and through the extensive access to technologies, talents and markets, GXA provides a gateway to the entire value creation chain. And thanks to the broad range of one-stop services we offer, we can cut costs for our international partners. GCA 2007 will play an important part in consolidating this platform, which is already used by firms of developers from both Singapore and abroad."

In terms of visitors, GCA Games Convention Asia 2007 is designed to appeal to trade visitors and professional developers on the one hand, and numerous fans of computer games on the other. Its main pillars are as follows:

1.	The exhibition. New games can be tested before their official market launch, enabling retailers to get an idea of the new products available before ordering.

2.	GCA Business Centre. Far away from the crowds, the Business Centre will provide an oasis of calm for trade visitors in separate rooms complete with internet access, presentation systems and catering. The atmosphere is ideal for suppliers and purchasers to meet up and do business.

3.	Games Developer Asia Conference. Taking place in parallel to the three-day exhibition, the developers' conference will be co-organised by the Games Xchange Alliance of Singapore. Focusing on 'Developing and Developments', the conference will examine various aspects of programming and production as well as the areas of audio and visualisation. Expert discussions and workshops will cement the role of GCA as the industry's ideal information platform.

4.	GCA 2007 Cyber Games Competition. Specially designed for amateur gamers from Singapore and the surrounding region, the Cyber Games Competition is the ideal launch pad for brand new games. What's more, with over 1,500 entrants expected from in and around Singapore, the Cyber Games Competition will be the biggest contest of its kind anywhere in Southeast Asia.

All in all, the Asian games market is known to be growing rapidly. According to PricewaterhouseCoopers, its turnover in 2009 will be in the order of $23 billion. The online games sector in Asia alone currently has a volume of $6.3 billion – and by 2008 looks set to reach $7.5 billion.

Turkey to Join the Successful Bite Bandwagon

BITE 2006 welcomes Turkey for the very first time

Bangkok, Thailand -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/19/2006 -- Convinced of Beijing International Tourism Expo's (BITE) successful track record from its last two presentations, Turkey - the site of two wonders of the ancient world, has stepped into the BITE arena with first-time country participation.

Focusing on Turkey's largest city, Istanbul, the Embassy of Turkey in China has indicated their intention of utlilising the exhibition space to showcase Turkey's interesting cultural insights and its unique Turkish delights during BITE at the Beijing Exhibition Centre, Hall 11, Booth D-32, from 22 to 24 June 2006.

Mr. Mehmet Olcel, Counsellor of Turkish Embassy, Culture & Information Section in China said, "This is the first time we are participating in BITE. We were very impressed with the presentation of BITE 2005. We strongly believe that BITE 2006 will be bigger and it shall attract the attention of both people within and outside the travel industry, which will surely be effective in attracting more visitors to Turkey."

Honoured by Travel + Leisure magazine as one of the world's top 10 best global travel destinations and one of the 'Top 10 European Cities', the Embassy of Turkey in China plans to unravel the mystical story of Istanbul to the world at the third presentation of BITE 2006. Recognizing the international trend of travellers gravitating towards more unusual and authentic places such as, Istanbul, the capital cleverly positions itself as a present-day marvel – the cradle of civilization, the very center of world history and a modern Westward looking republic. Istanbul is the world's only location that stretches over Europe and Asia continents cutting across the Strait of Bosporus.

Bringing Turkey to the Capital of China, Mr. Mehmet Olcel, Counsellor of Turkish Embassy, Culture & Information Section says," "With its excellent geographical location, together with colourful and interesting cultural heritage, visitors are often fascinated by its colourful and interesting culture. Its museums, cathedrals, palaces, mosques, bazaars and the natural scenery are some of the reasons visitors find Turkey so charming and irresistible."

Maintaining an impressive exhibitor turnout, 196 international exhibitors from 56 countries and regions and 245 Chinese exhibitors from 23 China provinces will be exhibiting alongside Turkey in the 10 halls dedicated to BITE 2006. The 2006 figures indicate a 10 percent increase in the number of participating countries and regions. BITE 2006 will also see an increase of more than 55 percent of the total gross floor area to 20,024 sqm exhibition hall space and is slated to move and shake the international travel industry with greater velocity.

Spreading its influence over the travel and tourism industry at an impressive speed, BITE has managed to mark itself in the event calendars of countless foreign embassies and international tourism councils far and wide.
