Fiorentini Dentistry is donating 3D-printed face shields to local hospitals

Monroe Township, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/28/2020 -- Although the Fiorentini Family Dentistry offices are currently limited to emergency dentist appointments, the doctors are still working just as hard. But instead of teeth, the focus is on their technology, using the office's 3D printer to create face shields for those battling on the frontlines against Coronavirus.

These shields are considered vital equipment in protecting healthcare personnel throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and are reported as a safety item in short supply at hospitals around the country. So while Drs. Mario S., Mario C., and Chris Fiorentini aren't seeing their usual patients during the crisis, they've found a way to serve their fellow medical professionals instead.

The office's 3D printing technology, which is typically used for implant surgical guides and orthodontics, has since been repurposed by Dr. Christopher Fiorentini to build the shield's protective design. "We all need to support our medical professionals and first responders during this difficult time," said Dr. Chris. "That is why we are happy to utilize our technology and resources to be able to fabricate these vitally necessary materials."

While their office remains open only for emergencies, the work continues for the family dentistry, building hundreds of additional shields to help protect more of our community's frontline workers.

Serving Those Who Served with a Smile

Monroe Township, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/28/2018 -- On November 3rd, Fiorentini Family Dentistry became part of a new tradition to help brighten and whiten the holiday season for veterans and their families. Dr. Fiorentini and Dr. Chris spent the day at Zufall Community Health Center for the second annual Smiles for our Heroes event, providing free dental care in New Jersey to military families in the local area.

Smiles for our Heroes was a special way to do just that as Fiorentini Family Dentistry teamed up with Zufall Health, NJDA and Delta Dental to provide a variety of different services to the participating veterans, including cleanings, extractions, fillings and more. Working from both the Community Health Center and the Zufall Dental Van during the event, Dr. Fiorentini and Dr. Chris helped provide care to over 200 veterans from all branches of the armed forces; a turnout that was significantly greater than last year. Throughout the day, veterans and their families also enjoyed free food, dental and health resources, entertainment from the Denville String Band and various giveaways.

Fiorentini Family Dentistry plans to extend its commitment to helping those who serve our great nation beyond the Smiles for Heroes event. The Fiorentini doctors have also signed up for the "Will You See One Vet" program, an initiative through the Academy of General Dentistry and the Dental Lifeline Network. Through this program, a veteran in need is paired with one of their two local offices to meet with the family doctors and receive free dental care.

For the second year in a row, Chris Fiorentini of Fiorentini Family Dentistry joined the “Healthy Athletes” initiative to bring special wellness services and education to all athletes competing in the 50th Special Olympics of New Jersey.

Monroe Township, NJ -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2018 -- For the second year in a row, Chris Fiorentini of Fiorentini Family Dentistry joined the "Healthy Athletes" initiative to bring special wellness services and education to all athletes competing in the 50th Special Olympics of New Jersey. In just two days, over 350 athletes received dental screenings, mouth guard fabrication and oral hygiene instruction as part of the Special Smiles program set up and coordinated by Fiorentini.

Over the weekend of June 8-10th, The College of New Jersey became the competing grounds for over 2,500 athletes participating in everything from track & field events, swimming, weightlifting, gymnastics and more. A spectacular Opening Ceremony on Friday kicked off an incredible event as athletes lapped the track, waving to a fan-packed stadium and receiving high fives from local police officers before the lighting of the Olympic Torch and firework display.

By early Saturday morning, it was time to get to work. As athletes competed in their events, the "Healthy Athletes" initiative was busy providing a variety of services, such as eye, foot and ear exams, nutrition and fitness counseling, wellness checkups, emotional counseling and most importantly dental services, for all competitors.

Fiorentini helped organize the event's unique dental program, called Special Smiles. He was joined by nearly 40 other dentists, dental students, dental assistants, hygienists, and hygiene students to help educate athletes on proper oral hygiene and various health issues, as well as create mouthguards and conduct dental screenings to detect caries and other diseases.
