Brainloop today announced that it has added further features to its Brainloop Mobile for iPad and Brainloop Mobile for Smartphones solutions due to the continuing strong demand for security solutions on mobile devices.

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/07/2011 -- Brainloop (http://www.brainloop.com), a leading supplier of software solutions for high-security collaboration on confidential documents, today announced that it has added further features to its Brainloop Mobile for iPad and Brainloop Mobile for Smartphones solutions due to the continuing strong demand for security solutions on mobile devices.

Brainloop's mobile solutions give staff a convenient and secure way of preparing for meetings and business appointments while they are out of the office. Users can also be included in collaboration processes while they are traveling and can actively participate in activities like voting and approval workflows. This saves time and increases the productivity of staff on the road while ensuring the highest levels of security.

Brainloop customers can download the Brainloop Mobile for iPad app from the App Store. It allows users to access confidential documents with their mobile device while they are traveling, assuming they have the necessary permissions to do so. The confidential documents themselves are stored in the Brainloop high-security workspace. They are reliably protected within the app and encrypted before being stored on the device. The browser view has been tailored to smartphone screens and enables users to view documents using the device's browser.

The new Brainloop Mobile app ( http://www.brainloop.com ) for the iPad now lets companies configure synchronization so that users can more easily download documents from the Brainloop portal and read them offline. If they have the appropriate permissions, they are also able to send documents securely from their iPad using a link. The familiar folder structure of the Brainloop solution is reproduced on the mobile device, enabling users to quickly find the documents they need. Mobile users can also receive a link to a file by email and read the document directly simply by clicking on the link. The same applies to Brainloop Mobile for Smartphones, which provides an easy-to-read view of a document on the phone's screen and is available for iPhones with OS 4.2 or higher and the Safari browser, as well as for Android phones with OS 2.3 and the standard browser.

"We're providing the ability to access confidential documents on iPads and smartphones in response to many customers' wish for a flexible yet highly secure way of working when their people are on the road," says Markus Seyfried, CTO at Brainloop. "Customers still benefit from all the advantages of our document compliance management solution, such as encrypted document transmission and storage as well as the allocation of personalized access permissions. All the changes made by a mobile user to a document are logged in the usual way, providing traceability to meet compliance regulations."

Brainloop White Paper Looks at Secure Document Sharing

Ensuring Security Doesn’t Interfere with Productivity.

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/29/2011 -- Secure document sharing must reduce risk, remain in compliance with security mandates and ensure adherence with governance policy. Document sharing must do all this without puttingan additional burden on those sharing and using the documents, notes a new white paper published today by Brainloop ( http://www.brainloop.com ), a leading supplier of software solutions for high-security collaboration on confidential documents.

Titled "Enterprise Information Management Security Options," the paper advocates that for any document sharing application to genuinely add value, it must augment or complement the organization's existing document security infrastructure.

Organizationally, document sharing requirements ought to fit within existing business processes. For example, the application should be flexible enough to work as part of several processes used across the enterprise. In particular, security policies should also govern and control not only the confidentiality of the document itself, but the ability to maintain protections once the document moves outside the enterprise.

When the document is used outside the perimeter, it's imperative to apply rights management, which is key for protecting the document by controlling the user's ability to print, save, or forward the document. Another factor to consider is the ability to limit the time a document is viewable.

In addition, security policies, including access rights and encryption, must be associated with the document itself so that protection can be maintained regardless of where the document travels and who gains access.

The paper outlines several best practices for secure document sharing, listing end-user elements such as versioning, usage tracking, discussions, and the ability to apply comments and annotations all of which facilitate collaboration.

"When your work calls for collaboration with people outside your company, Brainloop ( http://www.brainloop.com ) protects your confidential files and automatically applies your company's security policies, so you can focus on getting the job done - safely and without a complicated process to slow you down," said Paul Hands, Brainloop VP, Americas. "For more than 10 years professionals on six continents have relied on Brainloop for safe, secure collaboration."

Most recently, Brainloop announced that Twitter, the world's most popular micro-blogging site and real-time information network, has selected Brainloop's online platform for business processes. Brainloop also was the recipient of a "Best Deployment Scenario Award" from Info Security Products Guide in the Document Protection category for its work with Deutsche Postbank Group, one of Germany's largest financial services providers with €237 billion in assets.
