The Beat Tour brings Wyshmaster to Remington College campuses around the country to teach students everything from how to start making beats to how to make money selling beats.

There will be four music production classes available on the tour:

- How to Make a Beat – Students will study the basics of beat making, including drum programming, melody creation, song construction and more. Cost: $224.99

- How to Market & Sell Beats – Students will study how to market and sell their beats online and practice creating beat videos with free software to share on social media. Cost: $149.99

- The Beat Klub – This kid-friendly music class is specifically for those ages 12 to 17 who want to learn about music production. Students will study the basics of beat making, including drum programming, melody creation, song construction and more. Cost: $124.99

- VIP Collab Package with Wyshmaster – This private workshop is a one-on-one music collaboration session where you will create a beat with Wyshmaster and then promote it online. Cost: $249.99

How did you become a beat maker?

I started as a DJ in the Chicagoland area with a love for hip hop. I decided that I didn't want to only play the music that I loved, but wanted to create my own. I decided to buy my first Roland keyboard and began experimenting. A huge fan of Timbaland, Neptunes and Three 6 Mafia, I made the switch over from DJ to making my own music.

How did you learn beat making?

A lot of practice and also shadowing the music that I loved. Music has always moved me and it's a true passion of mine, so the continuous practice was also good for my mind and soul, something I wanted to be doing.

What was it like for you to see the success of "I'm On A Boat" and to be nominated for a Grammy?

I was first surprised when I heard it was airing on SNL and at the end of the week that it was being released! Then to be nominated as Best Rap/Sung Collaboration with so many prominent hip hop/R & B/pop artists was great. I still think that it might have won for the comedy award, LOL! Regardless, that was a great motivation that anything is possible.

Why did you want to be involved with Remington College and the Beat Tour?

I became involved in music education about eight years ago because I want to teach others what I have learned in the music industry. Teaching gives me the same kind of rewarding feeling as making music. I also liked that Remington College is a nonprofit and the president, Pam Bell, has such an innovative way of thinking, i.e. the Beat Tour. It's great to be able to travel to cities across the U.S. and teach my program to students who might not be able to attend in my city. Plus, each city has its own sound, its own vibe. It's fantastic to be able to be in their hometown and understand more of their music.

What's one thing you want your students to walk out of your classes with?

I want them to understand that this is a passion industry. You are your own boss, and it's up to you to get that time in on your music. Also, that this is not a pipe dream. You CAN make a career in the music business all by yourself—it takes hard work, dedication and passion.

What do you see for the future of beat making?

The future is now! Beat making is the foundation of a song and will forever be in demand. The industry is constantly growing and there is room for all styles and genres of beat makers. The non-profit college will offer a new culinary program for their Memphis Campus

Memphis, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/10/2018 -- Remington College is offering its culinary students a sweet opportunity.

The non-profit college announced today, its partnership with National best-selling author, entrepreneur, restaurateur, dessert expert, reality celebrity Kathy Wakile. Culinary Skills Essentials Diploma students at the Memphis Campus will be the first to experience the new culinary program "Remington College presents Kathy Wakile's Real Culinary Kitchen" as part of the College's Culinary Training Center.

"Kathy Wakile has built upon her cooking passions into a successful business. Wakile got introduced to many as a star of "Real Housewives of New Jersey," but she made a splash in the culinary world by drawing on her experience growing up in an Italian-American home surrounded by fresh, delicious home cooked and baked goods.

She started the INDULGE by Kathy Wakile line, selling cannoli kits and specialty coffee. She wrote a National best-selling cookbook by the same name featuring recipes for indulgent, bite-sized desserts. Wakile also opened a restaurant, Pizza Love, in New Jersey.

10th annual Cuts for Kids provides complimentary haircut for students 17 and younger throughout August

Orlando, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/11/2018 -- When the first bell rings for a new school year, kids everywhere will be excited to share their summer adventures or show off a new look.

Nonprofit Remington College is making that easy. Throughout the month of August, Remington College campuses across the country are providing free back-to-school haircuts for kids through the Cuts for Kids program.

The Cuts for Kids program is a win all around. It allows students 17 and younger to get a free haircut, helping them to look and feel their best on the first day, and helping parents save some money during the expensive back-to-school shopping season. In addition, the program allows students in Remington College's cosmetology program to get hands-on experience in real-world situations as part of their education. It is one of the many ways Remington College lives out its nonprofit mission and gives back to the community.

Remington College has provided more than 17,000 free back-to-school haircuts through the Cuts for Kids program, which is in its 10th year.

Recruits with associate degrees from nationally accredited institutions can apply now

Memphis, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/28/2018 -- Remington College Criminal Justice Degree Program graduates now have more opportunities for employment in the Memphis area.(1)

The Memphis Police Department is now accepting recruits with associate degrees from nationally accredited higher learning institutions such as nonprofit Remington College.

"At Remington College, our goal is to help our students get the training and education they need to find meaningful employment," said Sherria King, Remington College Memphis Campus president. "This update from MPD will open even more doors for our graduates to work in the field they want and serve their community."

Remington College Memphis Campus offers a Degree Program in Criminal Justice in which students earn an associate degree. The program covers the basics of criminal law, crime scene processing, forensic science, law enforcement operations and ethics. It also includes a lab component for hands-on training.

The program requires a minimum of 92 credit hours and typically takes full-time students 18 months to complete.(2) In addition to job opportunities with the police department, the program prepares students for entry-level positions in corrections, loss prevention and security.(1)

In addition to education requirements, police department recruits must also be at least 21 years old upon completion of the training program; possess a valid driver license; pass testing to qualify as a recruit; and not have been convicted of, pled guilty or pled no contest to any felony charges.

MPD is currently accepting applications for the 127th basic recruit class, which will begin Oct. 1.
