Henrich Equipment Co., Inc Introduces New DEC Compliance Solutions Program for Petroleum Bulk Storage Facilities

Henrich Equipment Co., Inc Introduces New DEC Compliance Solutions Program for Petroleum Bulk Storage Facilities

West Babylon, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/05/2010 -- Henrich Equipment Co., Inc. has developed a Compliance Management Solutions program that includes a new Petroleum Bulk Storage (PBS) Inspection to make sure your business remains compliant, resulting in a safer environment; less leaks and spills from improper handling and storage; and fewer costly penalties for your business.

The federal government and the state of New York requires businesses with petroleum bulk storage tanks to be in compliance with a variety of complex regulations, including those administered by the New York Department of Conservation (DEC). These regulations have been put in place because improper handling and storage of petroleum can result in leaks and spills and pose a serious threat to the quality of the environment.

"At Henrich, we believe in conserving our environment. We created the Compliance Management Solutions Program to help businesses not just comply with federal and New York Department of Conservation regulations, but to understand how best to keep our environment safe and decrease contamination," said Joseph Pezdan, Vice President, Henrich Equipment Co., Inc.

According to the New York DEC, water contamination is only one consequence of poor bulk storage handling practices. Mismanagement of some substances may pose occupational hazards, present a fire or explosion risk, or result in a release of odors or fumes with serious public health and environmental consequences to the neighboring community. Gasoline and many other hazardous chemicals when inhaled can cause drowsiness, nausea and other adverse health effects.

Once a chemical soaks into the ground, it disperses and may dissolve and contaminate a water supply for many years. Cleanup is often difficult and it is usually expensive.

In New York, there are approximately 52,000 storage facilities which involve an estimated 125,000 bulk storage tanks. Henrich Equipment Co., Inc has created a comprehensive inspection that goes above and beyond the New York DEC's Petroleum Bulk Storage inspection.

Henrich's petroleum bulk storage inspection includes:

* Thorough facility-level assessment:
* Checking for proper certification, labeling, and signs
* Identifying of any faults in hoses, nozzles, and dispensers
* Presence of fire suppression equipment, overfills, emergency shut offs, and shear valves.
* Inspection of underground and aboveground storage tanks:
* Examination of proper tank registration and operation
* Ensuring minimum standards for operation are being met
* Observing spill buckets, sumps, secondary containment, venting, and leak sensors for proper functioning and placement
* Ensures all testing and records meet minimum standards:
* Proper leak detection being utilized
* Reconciliation reports and inventory records being generated
* Equipment inspections are being completed and documented as required

After completing an inspection, weekly DEC compliance reports are generated to highlight all necessary actions a facility must take to become compliant with complex federal and state complex regulations. Henrich, through the work of their trained service technicians, has the ability to then make a return trip to the site for required repairs. This allows for the customer to reach compliance by having their problem both diagnosed and corrected within a timely manner.

Henrich is your partner in making sure your business remains compliant with all federal and New York DEC regulations. Their systematic Compliance Management Solutions Program ensures your business will be able to remain operating in both a safe and efficient manner. In order to protect our water and our environment, it's important that every business remains compliant.

Henrich Equipment Co., Inc Partners with Veeder Root and TMS to Provide Integrated Fuel Management Systems

West Babylon, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/19/2010 -- Henrich Equipment Co., Inc. partnered with Veeder Root and TMS to install a completely paperless and wireless fuel management system at Landmark Aviation located in White Plains, NY.Landmark needed a system that tracked how much fuel was coming in, exactly how much product they were selling to each refueler, as well as when that sale occurred. Henrich Equipment Co., Inc provided Landmark with a real-time wireless solution that resulted in a more accurate and efficient billing cycle.

"Our solution allowed Landmark to eliminate the paperwork reconciliation process and decrease human error by making the fuel management system completely electronic," said Joe Pezdan, Vice President, Henrich Equipment Co., Inc.

The wireless system offers a new vision for the industry with a systems integration approach to fuel management. By combining the TMS Titan with the Veeder Root system, the customer is able to control multiple components in one command center. This involved integrating technology from cardlock systems, inventory control systems, and terminal automation systems, and molding them together into a single stand-alone fuel management controller. Henrich's combination of industry standard technologies assures that the system is built on a strong foundation for success.

According to Jason Levine, Business Development Manager at TMS, this new system improves the industry standard by eliminating "the human error and duplication of work by providing a centralized data collection point." Levine adds, "There is no more confusion on the part of management regarding when, where, and how much fuel was dispensed."

Levine goes on to say, "The days of illegible handwriting are replaced with a streamlined and easy to use web-enable interface that empowers speedy reporting and billing. We have integrated tank leveling information in order to capture inventory levels and deliveries. The TMS Titan provides the FBO with security over access to fuel products as well as a remote view of fuel inventories, deliveries into the tank farm, and loads into fuel trucks."

"On the accounting side, the export routine creates data files that can be sent to an accounting package for daily billing and brings efficiencies to receivables," he adds.

Throughout this project, Henrich provided system installation and start-up, and continues to provide service and maintenance to Landmark Aviation. In the first part of the system, ExxonMobil delivers the fuel, where each driver has a card that is swiped for their personal information, company verification, and amount of fuel being dropped-off. Once that information is determined, it is electronically sent to the operations computer which reconciles and compiles a report. ExxonMobil then can bill Landmark Aviation for fuel. The second part of the system takes place when both private and commercial plane operators take fuel out of the system. They too have a card that identifies who they are, which company they work with, how much fuel they received, and who to bill. This information is again communicated with the operations computer, where an almost real-time invoice is created and sent to the appropriate plane operators.
