Novonous announces the release of its new report titled “Competitive Analysis of Industrial Computer Market in India and Taiwan & its Applications in Indian Defence Sector” which covers Indian and Taiwanese industrial computer market.

Bangalore, Karnataka -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/22/2010 -- The Indian defence industry is the world's largest importer of defence equipments. The government has envisaged meeting 70% of its defence procurement needs from within the nation by 2010. Increasing private partnership and emphasis on developing its R&D capability are central to this strategy.

The private sector has played a significant role in the defence industry as sub-contractors and ancillary industry, although until recently its participation was largely restricted to the supply of raw materials, semi-finished products, parts and components to defence PSUs, OFs, the base workshops of the army, the base repair depots of the air force and the dockyards of the navy. This is one of the biggest drawbacks of this industry, apart from insufficient capability of Indian companies to manufacture all the components in house. Therefore most of the Industrial computer companies in India produce only a few kinds of components used in Industrial computers, while the rest of the components are mostly imported from Taiwan and US.

Taiwan is one of the biggest markets for Industrial computer companies. Not only do Indian companies have their vendors in Taiwan, but many other countries also import components or purchase Industrial computers from Taiwan companies. The report also identifies various clusters of industrial computers companies in India, especially those catering to the defence sector. The report provides a complete market dynamics of Industrial computers with the help of different analysis models like SWOT Analysis, PEST Analysis and market analysis for new and existing players. Some of the leading players in Taiwan, such as Advantech Co. Ltd and Aaeon Technology Inc., have set up production facilities in mainland China.

On the other hand, defence offsets policy is expected to bring in INR $10 billion during the 11th five-year plan period and catalyze the growth of the SMEs in the defence set up by easy market-entry opportunities for private companies, enabling them to invest in research and development and manufacturing of defence goods. With estimations stating that the current defence market for private sector firms in India is around $700 million, evidently there is a huge opportunity.

This report also has detailed profiling of twenty Industrial computers manufacturers, component manufacturers and integrators AAEON Technology Inc, AICSYS INC, Advantech (India) Limited, ADLINK Technology Inc, ARBOR Technology Corp, Avalue Technology Inc, Axiomtek Co., Ltd, IBASE Technology Inc, Lanner Electronics Inc, LEX COMPUTECH CO., LTD, Portwell Inc, PAKO Communications Pvt.Ltd, PENTAGON RUGGED SYSTEMS India (Pvt.)
Novonous Releases the "Novonous Vas Tracker 2010" Report for Indian Vas Industry

Novonous announces the release of its new report titled “Novonous Vas Tracker 2010” which covers major 77 VAS companies in Indian VAS Industry.

Bangalore, Karnataka -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/29/2010 -- Although voice VAS continues to command a large revenue share, the contribution of Mobile VAS (Value-Added-Services) to Indian telecom industry is immense. So on the whole, VAS is on the rise, as it remains the key differentiator for operators. The goal of this TRACKER has been to profile major VAS companies in India, using a set of parameters like financial performance, geographies of operation, service offerings, individual SWOT analysis of the companies profiled, key customers and partners, contact information, key person details and company's location in the VAS value chain apart from the recent news about the company.

Ambarish Verma, CEO of Novonous says, "VAS currently contributes to 10% of the operator's revenue. The mobile VAS market has been grown by around 60% and will grow at 70% year-on-year up to 2012. According to Novonous estimates and insights from the VAS TRACKER respondents, VAS is estimated to touch USD 5,875 million by the year 2011 and USD 49,072 million by the year 2015. This is mainly due to the factors attributed to mobile advertising, m-commerce, multi-media games, 3G, mobile internet for faster data upload and download and also the rural VAS market."

Ambarish further says that, "This trend is expected to increase in future, as VAS services will become a major revenue source for telecom operators in India, who are facing challenges like decreasing Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) despite increase in consumer base." Mobile value-added services (VAS) are the services that are offered, by differentiation from the normal services and currently, many of the services are charged at a premium.

In India, SMS, Ringtone, Caller Ring Back Tone (CRBT) and Games constitute the bulk of the VAS. VAS delivery has been mainly based upon SMS, IVR, GPRS and WAP platforms. Managed VAS, although in its nascent stage in India, has recently gained momentum. Telco's are already working on outsourcing models for IT and network infrastructure. Now with the plethora of value added services at their disposal, operators are turning toward an outsourcing model for VAS as well, in order to reduce costs.

Seven telecom companies are looking for maximum returns on their investments of INR 50,968.3 Crore for 20 year licenses in 22 service areas. 3G subscribers will account for 13% of the country's total mobile connections, covering 150 million users by 2014 according to latest reports by Wireless Intelligence the market intelligence unit that serves mobile industry association GSMA.

Apart from detailed profiling of 77 VAS companies, the VAS TRACKER highlights the reasons why VAS players are forced to look for alternate revenue models. Despite all the developments, advertisers take a long time to get convinced for mobile advertising. However VAS players still dependant on operators to promote their VAS product/services.

A detailed assessment of applications and services of VAS industry, shows the extent of involvement of each M VAS service in a positive and negative manner which is derived from the feedback of top executives (respondent's), who participated in the VAS TRACKER study.

This report also highlights forecasts for VAS Market size over the period of 2010-15. The report identifies the key growth drivers, barriers for VAS market, particularly across each category of VAS service namely entertainment, information and m commerce, in India and has a comprehensive list of well known players in this segment.

With the much awaited 3G spectrum Indian telecom industry, will see high level of connectivity, de-congested networks and simultaneous data and voice network. The mobile device is fast moving to become the third screen of the world, with innovative VAS offerings just being the brightest feather in its cap.

NOVONOUS Releases the "Analysis of Solar Energy Industry in India & Its Future Prospects" Report

“The Indian solar energy sector has been growing rapidly, in the past few years, majorly due to Government’s initiatives such as tax exemptions and subsidies and depleting energy sources”.

Bangalore, Karnataka -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/23/2010 -- NOVONOUS announces the release of its new report titled "Analysis of Solar Energy Industry in India & Its Future Prospects"

Due to technical potential of 5,000 trillion kWh per year and minimum operating cost, Solar Power is considered the best suited energy source for India. Today the Solar power, has an installed capacity of 9.84 MW which is about less than 0.1 percent of the total installed renewable energy of India. Currently total installed renewable energy stands at 13,242.41 MW as per MNRE.

India's power sector has a total installed capacity of approximately 1,46,753 Megawatt (MW) of which 54% is coal-based, 25% hydro, 8% is renewable's and the balance is the gas and nuclear-based. Power shortages are estimated at about 11% of total energy and 15% of peak capacity requirements which is likely to increase in the coming years. The cost of production range is Rs 15 to Rs 20 per unit for the solar energy, which is very high when compared to, Rs 2 to Rs 5 per unit for other conventional sources in India.

Much of the country does not have an electrical grid, so solar power will indeed be a boon for water pumping, to begin replacing India's four to five million diesel powered water pumps, each consuming about 3.5 kilowatt of off-grid lighting. Solar energy technology consists of solar thermal technologies, which utilize sun's energy and solar photovoltaic technology, which convert solar energy directly into electricity.

According to the 11th five year plan, the government of India projects a massive expansion in installed solar capacity, and aims to reduce the price of electricity generated from solar energy, to match that from fossil fuels like coal and diesel by 2030.

The Integrated Energy Policy of India envisages electricity generation installed capacity of 80,0 000 MW by 2030 and a substantial contribution would be from renewable energy.

India has been ranked 7th worldwide for solar photovoltaic (PV) cell production and 9th rank in solar thermal power generation. This capacity is growing rapidly due to the entry of various private players in manufacturing of solar energy equipment. According to NOVONOUS INSIGHTS, the Indian solar energy sector is estimated to grow at 25% year on year in next few years. At this rate, the global market is likely to exceed the annual production mark of 12 GW during the year 2012. Likewise, the Indian market demand is expected to reach 200MW by the year 2012. The implementation of the three-phase plan for solar PV capacity expansion is expected to begin this year in 2010, with the Indian Government spending approximately US$20 billion over a 30 year period.

This report provides solar sector-insights, growth drivers and inhibitors, ongoing and new projects to be commissioned, future forecasts for Solar PV modules, Cells and Solar thermal installations, key trends and profiles key players in this sector.

This report provides detailed information on Indian solar energy market with five year forecasts up to 2015.
