The album is a collection of songs chronicling a journey of faith through a dark past: his own. Though Edwards had come out of the darkness and has been living a seemingly charmed life for the past 14 years with his wife and 3 children, 2019 has brought tragic surprises that reminded him how quickly life can change.

The artist recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter that outlines some of the challenges and alludes to others. The album itself circles back to dark valleys that the artist has traversed in earlier years even as he looks forward to God coming through in his current situation. Updates on the campaign so far have shown behind-the-scenes videos of the start of the recording process, but the artist is looking to raise $15,000 to complete it, welcoming generous support and backing from new fans.
