Sound Fighter Systems Offers Hands-on Installation Training for Its Contractors

Training for the installation of new sound walls begins for contractors working on a large interstate project.

Shreveport, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/02/2011 -- In a back corner of the production yard at Sound Fighter Systems' HQ facilities in Shreveport, you will find what appears to be a misplaced sound wall. The "L" shaped LSE Noise Barrier screens no one from noise, and appears to be completely useless. But a recent team of contractors visiting from Michigan would differ on that point. The wall is, in fact, a sample wall designed by Sound Fighter Systems to train contractors on installing the company's famed LSE Noise Barrier System http://www.soundfighter.com. The Michigan team has won the contract to install a large interstate sound wall project for Sound Fighter Systems, replacing a dilapidated and ineffective wooden sound wall, and they jumped at the opportunity for some pre-project training.

"While the LSE System is extremely easy to install," notes Murray Stacy, VP for Sound Fighter Systems, "fear of the unknown can result in higher installation bids on LSE projects. However, once the contractors actually put their hands on the system and see how easy it is to install, that fear of the unknown disappears. Their newfound comfort level translates into more competitive installation pricing and a better understanding of the installation process once the materials arrive on the jobsite. It is a win-win for both Sound Fighter Systems and the installing contractor."

The sample LSE Barrier includes all of the standard components that contractors will work with in the field, including a sample personnel door. The training session requires hands-on installation by the participants, and includes a thorough briefing and introduction beforehand, and follow-up Q&A afterwards to make absolutely certain the contractor fully understands the installation process before leaving the Sound Fighter facilities.

"The other objective for the training initiative at our HQ is the opportunity to meet the installing contractors face to face." Stacy adds. "Our success and reputation is dependent on the quality of the installation of our LSE System. Establishing a personal connection with the installers beforehand is just good business."

Sound Fighter Systems Selected to Replace Wooden Sound Wall on Interstate 12

LSE Barrier System will be used for the Interstate 12 project.

Shreveport, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/21/2011 -- Sound Fighter Systems was selected to replace a dilapidated wooden sound wall on I-12 in southern Louisiana.

"The existing wooden wall was literally falling apart." notes Patrick Harrison, President of Sound Fighter Systems. "Besides its lackluster acoustic performance, wood simply can not endure the harsh and even caustic environments of the Gulf Coast. While it may appear to be the most cost-efficient option initially, once lifecycle, maintenance and replacement costs are brought into the equation, there are clearly better long-term solutions available such as our LSE Noise Barrier System. Considering that our LSE System has withstood the likes of Katrina and Rita, the decision to replace the I-12 wall with the LSE System became an easy one."

The project involves some 5000 linear feet of LSE Noise Barrier averaging 14 feet tall. The noise barrier is being engineered for Gulf Coast wind loads, and is custom color-matched for LADOTD.

"We are proud of our longstanding relationship with LADOTD." adds Harrison. "Sound Fighter Systems' LSE Barrier System http://www.soundfighter.com/content.asp?page=19 was the first noise barrier product ever approved by LADOTD, and the parallel sound walls on I-49 in Shreveport remain amongst the best performing interstate sound walls in the country http://www.soundfighter.com. To competitively offer one of the world's top noise barrier products for nearly 40 years is an uncommon feat in the manufacturing business, and our decades-old partnership with LADOTD has been a key factor in that success."

Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) Considers Sound Fighter Systems' Product to Solve I-30 Noise Problems

LSE Highway Sound Barrier System, a product made by Sound Fighter Systems, is in the running for possible solutions to the I-30 noise problem in the DFW area.

Shreveport, LA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/02/2010 -- Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is looking into different methods to reduce the noise levels produced by some 100,000 vehicles traveling Interstate Highway 30 (I-30), which runs through the DFW area. Neighborhoods in the North Oak Cliff area suffer from the high levels of noise coming from this stretch of Interstate.

So far TxDOT has taken interest in two possible methods for solving this issue. Method one involves a Louisiana based company Sound Fighter Systems http://www.soundfighter.com . Their product, LSE Highway Sound Barrier System http://www.soundfighter.com/content.asp?page=11, is a fully sound-absorptive, high-performance sound wall. The LSE sound wall absorbs sound waves produced by traffic, rather than allowing the noise to bounce, which is what happens when concrete or brick are used. The other method involves using noise reducing asphalt. This method is being tested on a section of I-30, between Sylvan Avenue and Hampton Road.

Throughout the remaining months of the year, TxDOT will continue to test both methods for improving noise levels on I-30. At the end of testing, decibel levels will be re-evaluated with hopes that one of the methods will be cost-effective and beneficial for residents along the Interstate.
