Dr. Chad Robbins Shows the Eyes Some Love

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/28/2020 -- Blepharoplasty, also known as eyelid lift surgery, involves correcting sagging skin or droopy eyelids and undereye bags. Upper eyelid surgery involves removal of excess skin and a small amount of fat to upper eyelid. Lower eyelid surgery involves removal of creepy skin and fat to under eyes. These incisions are hidden in natural crease to the upper eye and at the lash line to under eyes. Stitches are placed and removed 1 week following surgery. Most people are back to running errands at 7-10 days and back to social events at 3 weeks. And resuming physical activity at 3 weeks following blepharoplasty.

Blepharoplasty is an excellent way to address deeper problems with the eyelid tissues, including loose, redundant skin and fat displacement. Upper blepharoplasty is designed to remove lax, saggy eyelid skin that can be heavy and sometimes droop over the lash line, restricting peripheral vision. Upper blepharoplasty can also reposition displaced fat and lift the eyelid skin to create wider, more youthful looking eyes.

Lower blepharoplasty is intended to smooth out under-eye bags and puffiness, areas of depression beneath the lower eyelids and excess wrinkles in the lower eyelids. However, the procedure cannot improve the appearance of wrinkles around the corners of the eye, which are known as "crow's feet." This is where medical grade chemical peels and neurotoxins like Botox®, Dysport® and Jeuveau® can be tremendously helpful.

Having these procedures performed by themselves or combined can give a more youthful and brighter looking eyes. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, blepharoplasty is the 4th most performed procedure in plastic surgery.

The Truth About Gynecomastia or Man Boobs

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/24/2020 -- Gynecomastia affects approximately 50-60% of male adolescents. This commonly can occur during puberty where there is an overproduction of estrogen. Gynecomastia can cause low self esteem and shame especially during puberty. However, gynecomastia can affect boys, adolescents and men.

What causes gynecomastia?
Gynecomastia is initially triggered by a shift in hormonal imbalance by an increase in estrogen or a decrease in testosterone. Many boys or men may experience tenderness to their breast.

How is gynecomastia corrected?
Gynecomastia surgery is performed through a small incision at the base of the areola. This incision is hidden and concealed so that it is not visible at the beach or pool. The gland is removed through the small incision and liposuction is performed as well. The liposuction helps to contour the chest.

What should you expect from recovery from gynecomastia?
Expect some soreness for a few days following the surgery. A compression shirt will be worn for approximately 6 weeks following surgery. This can be hidden under shirts during that time. Working out can be resumed after 3 weeks following surgery.

Dr. Chad Robbins is highly trained in all aspects of plastic and reconstructive surgery. A native of Huntsville, Alabama, he received his bachelor of science degree from Sewanee: The University of the South, graduating magna cum laude. He completed his medical degree at University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Medicine.

Unfortunately, working out and dieting does not improve gynecomastia. Many patients say they notice it more after losing weight. You do not have to live with the embarrassing and uncomfortable affects of gynecomastia. Voted Nashville's Best Nip & Tuck Plastic Surgeon, Dr. Chad Robbins, can help you lead a happier life.
The Benefits of Chin Implants and Chin Augmentation

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/24/2020 -- Chin augmentation or chin implants are a popular cosmetic surgery option for individuals who feel that their chin is not as defined or lacks proportion to the rest of their face. The following are a few of the reasons why patients choose for chin implants:

- to correct a weak or recessed chin,

- to increase the prominence of the chin bone to reduce the appearance of a double chin,

- to improve jawline and neck definition, or

- to bring the chin into proportion with the other facial features for a more balanced appearance.

A chin implant itself is made from a durable material, usually silicone that is molded around the natural bone to provide the desired amount of enhancement. Implants come in a wide range of contours and sizes to suit any patient.

What to Expect During a Chin Augmentation Procedure
Chin augmentation is normally performed as an outpatient surgery using local or general anesthesia. The implant, which is made from a silicone material, is inserted through an incision made inside of the mouth to keep the scar as invisible as possible. Once the implant is in place, the incision is closed with sutures, and a bandage is placed over the chin. If chin augmentation is the only procedure being performed, the surgery can be completed in about an hour.

The Recovery Process
It is important to follow the Dr. Chad Robbins' aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing and to prevent complications. Patients are normally able to return to most activities within a week of their surgery; however, strenuous activity should be avoided for 3 weeks. There will be some swelling and minimal bruising immediately following the surgery; however, most of the swelling should subside within a month to reveal the results.

When looking for a Nashville board-certified plastic facial surgeon to perform a chin augmentation, it is important to look for a surgeon like Dr. Chad Robbins with extensive experience involving chin implants and who will take the time to help you find the implant that will provide the most natural results.

Labiaplasty-All Are Not the Same

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/09/2020 -- Labiaplasty or labia reduction is a cosmetic procedure performed to correct excess skin and tissue to labia minora. Though it is normal and natural for some women to have excess skin and tissue to this area, these women can tend to feel self-conscious in bathing suits and yoga pants. Excess labia minora can cause discomfort with intercourse or riding a bicycle. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgery, labiaplasty is increasing in popularity each year. Over 12,000 labiaplasty procedures were performed last year by members of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Labiaplasty usually requires pain medication for a few days, but then usually subsides after that time. Despite it being a very sensitive area, patients do well with regards to pain afterwards. Following labiaplasty patients are required to keep Neosporin ointment to the incisions as well as wear a panty liner for the first few days after surgery. Bruising and swelling to this area usually resolves within the first week following labiaplasty.

Are the scars visible after a labiaplasty?

Dissolvable stitches are used to close the incisions. The scar naturally blends into the labia minora which has folds and wrinkles for this to be easily concealed.

How soon after a labiaplasty can I return to working out and physical activity?

Patients can return to physical activity after 3 weeks as well as any physical activity can be resumed at that time.

How much does a labiaplasty cost?
The cost ranges from $4000-$4500. The exact cost will be given at the time of your consult.

Rhinoplasty (Nose Surgery) Recovery and Cost

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/02/2020 -- A rhinoplasty or "nose job" gives patients a more desirable nose through correcting asymmetry as well as proportion. Rhinoplasty is an outpatient procedure meaning patients go home the same day as their procedure.

How do I know how to choose the right doctor to perform a rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty surgery should always be performed by a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon. Be sure to choose a physician that understands your goals in moving forward with rhinoplasty surgery. Always ask to view before and after pictures of the physician's rhinoplasty surgeries he has performed. Ask your physician to speak with previous patients that have had rhinoplasty to discuss their experience and if their desired outcome was achieved.

What does recovery like after rhinoplasty?
A flesh colored splint will be placed on the outside of the nose and this will remain in place for 1 week. The splint is placed to support and protect the nose for the first week following rhinoplasty surgery. Swelling and bruising may occur after rhinoplasty, however, this does subside after 1 week. You will not be allowed to get the splint wet for the first week but may after the splint has been removed.

Will I have any pain after a rhinoplasty?
Patients do not usually experience much pain following a rhinoplasty.

When can I return to working out after a rhinoplasty?
You can return to working out and any strenuous activity 3 weeks after your rhinoplasty. So that means after 3 weeks you will not have any restrictions and can go about life as you like!

How much does it cost?
Rhinoplasty cost ranges from approximately $8,000-$9,000. An exact quote can be give to you at the time of your consult.

How Has Social Media Influenced Plastic Surgery?

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/02/2020 -- It's hard to imagine life without social media in today's modern world. We have the ability now to connect with old friends and family all over the world, thanks to social media. Approximately 70% of people in the United States use some form of social media each day. Thanks to the "selfie" on social media, the number of people that want to improve their appearance through plastic surgery has increased. Popular treatments that men and women want from their plastic surgeon because of social media influence are rhinoplasty, treatments to reduce wrinkles, breast augmentation, and lip augmentation, thanks to the Kylie Jenner lip craze! These trends on social media can often be influenced by wanting to gain more likes or comments on social media and often times wanting to replicate images we have seen on Instagram, Snapchat or Facebook. Millennials have been a leader in the selfie craze and are a very tech savvy generation. Here are some facts about social media and living in the Millennial's generation:

Dr. Chad Robbins Discusses How Liposuction Can Improve Confidence

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/06/2020 -- Is it really that time of year where we are thinking about beach vacations and having to get back into that bathing suit? Sometimes diet and exercise just aren't enough to get rid of that pesky fat. Liposuction is a permanent solution to removing fat with minimal downtime.

What is liposuction?
Liposuction removes stubborn fat and improves the appearance and contour of the body. A tiny incision is made where a small instrument is inserted underneath the skin and the fat is permanently removed. The tiny incision is placed in areas that are well hidden with clothes and in bathing suits, so that it not visible to others. There is minimal downtime with liposuction. Most people are back to normal activities after 3 days. You may experience swelling and bruising following liposuction.

Where can liposuction be performed?
Liposuction can be performed to various areas, such as the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, ankles, hips, chin, neck and upper arms.

Is liposuction right for me?
Liposuction does not tighten the skin. If you have excess skin, you may want to consider a tummy tuck that will address the loose skin as well as include liposuction. At your consultation with board certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Chad Robbins he will help you determine if you are a good candidate for liposuction.

Why should I choose a plastic surgeon over a Med Spa to have liposuction performed?

This procedure should be performed by a board-certified plastic surgeon and one that is accredited by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons or ASPS. These physicians go through rigorous training in order to achieve this accreditation. Just because liposuction is readily available, it doesn't mean everyone is the right person to be performing liposuction. Always ask for before and after pictures of liposuction before choosing the doctor that's right for you!

Call Dr. Chad Robbins today for a consultation! Hurry before its time to put on that bathing suit and head to the beach!

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Chad Robbins
Telephone: 1-615-401-9454
Email: Click to Email Chad Robbins
Web: https://www.robbinsplasticsurgery.com/

Is a Tummy Tuck Weight Loss Surgery?

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/06/2020 -- Many people confuse a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty with weight loss surgery like gastric bypass, lap band or gastric sleeve surgery. Weight loss surgeries like these listed above are to help you lose weight. A tummy tuck or abdominoplasty is surgery to remove the excess skin after you've lost the weight. So, with that being said, these surgeries do very different things in the end. Dr. Chad Robbins recommends reaching your goal weight prior to surgery so that you can achieve the best aesthetic outcome.

Is the goal of a tummy tuck to lose weight?

No, tummy tuck or an abdominoplasty is not a weight loss surgery and the goal is not to help or kick start your weight loss journey. Living a healthier lifestyle prior to your abdominoplasty or tummy tuck can help you achieve your best results after surgery as well as aid in a good and speedy recovery. Being at your healthiest weight does lower your risk for complications following any surgery.

A tummy tuck or an abdominoplasty removes excess skin and abdominal fat during the surgery. Liposuction is performed to the love handle areas to give your nice shape and contouring.

Overall, you cannot rely on an abdominoplasty to help with any weight loss issues. Always see a board-certified plastic surgeon when choosing to have plastic surgery. Review before and after pictures of tummy tucks as well before choosing a plastic surgeon.

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/06/2020 -- It's hard to think about warm weather and bathing suits amid frigid temperatures. However, swim suit season is right around the corner. Now is a great time to start thinking about a breast augmentation so that you can be ready for spring and summer vacations. Breast augmentation is one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures. Implants can be placed over or under the muscle, to achieve a variety of shapes and sizes. The procedure typically takes about one hour, to improve shape. Their fit can be customized to achieve a round or more natural shape according to one's goals. They can even be combined with a breast lift to correct droopy breasts. Results from breast implants are immediate following surgery, however, it takes 2-3 months for implants to settle and for swelling to subside. Now is the perfect time of year to start planning and be ready for the warm weather!

It is always important to see a board-certified plastic surgeon when planning for surgery. We recommend looking at photo galleries and finding patients that are matched for your age and physical findings to see what outcomes are possible.
The Benefits of a Thigh Lift

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/27/2020 -- A thigh lift or thighplasty refers to reshaping the thighs by removing excess skin and fat to reveal a more flattering and toned leg. It is similar to an arm lift. Check out our blog on arm lift here. Liposuction is performed in conjunction with a thigh lift when performed by Dr. Chad Robbins. By adding liposuction this helps to achieve a more toned appearance of the leg. Many choose to have a thigh lift at the time of an arm lift and some choose to do them separately.

The scars for a thigh lift are hidden in the groin crease. However, some patients may require a scar that not only is hidden in the groin crease but extends down the inner thigh. At your consultation, it would be determined after your exam what type of scarring would give you the best results.

Following surgery, you are required to wear compression garments for 6 weeks after surgery. You may shower 3 days after your surgery. And you may resume full physical activity after 3 weeks. However, you will be up walking the day of surgery. Many are back to work after 2 weeks following a thigh lift. Stitches following a thigh lift are dissolvable and do not need to be removed.

The results of a thigh lift are seen almost immediately, however, it does take a few months for the swelling to subside to really see the optimal results. Check out these before and after results of thigh lifts by Dr. Chad Robbins. Dr. Chad Robbins is highly trained in all aspects of plastic surgery.
Armed for Spring-the Facts About an Arm Lift

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/27/2020 -- Whose arms do you most covet? Michelle Obama? Jennifer Aniston? They both have incredible definition and sculpted arms that we all desire. Check out the following statistics on arm lifts and how to achieve those desired Hollywood arms.

The American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) released additional statistical information on their annual survey of cosmetic and reconstructive procedures performed in 2018 year. They found that the arm lift or brachioplasty is becoming a much more common procedure than it has been previously. This is mostly due to weight loss surgery. Aside from wanting a tummy tuck or breast lift after massive weight loss, an arm lift is a very popular procedure that many weight loss patients are seeking. There were 17,338 arm lifts performed in 2018 according to the ASPS. That is a 5,030% increase from the year 2000.

But before patients get an arm lift, they need to understand that there may be other options. If you don't have a great deal of excess skin but mostly fat to the upper arms, you may be a candidate for liposuction which requires a very small scar. Unfortunately, most patients that are unhappy with their upper arms is usually due to what they call "bat wings" – the excess floppy skin that is not corrected by liposuction alone. Therefore, they must consider an arm lift, or removal of the excess arm skin. And if removal of the skin is needed, then you must recognize that you will have scars. An arm lift scar is made in the back inner part of the arm. Through this incision excess drooping and excess skin are removed and the remaining skin is tightened. Dr. Chad Robbins performs liposuction in conjunction with an arm lift to contour and tailor the arm to the elbow. This gives an excellent aesthetic outcome of the arm by combining skin removal and liposuction.

During your recovery of an arm lift, compression garments are placed to minimize swelling. These compression garments are worn for 6 weeks following arm lift surgery. Patients may return to regular physical activity after 3 weeks of arm lift surgery.

Dr. Chad Robbins Discusses Facial Aging

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/17/2020 -- Do you look in the mirror these days and think who is this person? If the signs of aging are taking a toll on your confidence, then a facelift may be right for you. Those with unwanted wrinkles, jowling to lower face, and sagging skin often opt for a facelift to achieve a more youthful and refreshed look. Deciding to have a facelift is not one to be taken lightly. Dr. Chad Robbins in Nashville will inform of the realities of a facelift.

According to Dr. Chad Robbins, a facelift does not mean that you are going to look "windblown" or overdone. Many of us struggle with self-esteem with aging especially when the signs of aging become more noticeable. Dr. Chad Robbins places facelift scars behind the ear as well as in front of the ears. These scars are hidden and concealed so that it is not obvious that you have had a facelift. By having a facelift, it will remove and tighten sagging skin, enhance and define facial features as well as minimize fine lines and wrinkles. In addition to a facelift Dr. Chad Robbins will typically perform fat grafting to cheeks, lips and nasolabial folds. As these areas age we lose volume and in order to plump these areas fat is injected to improve volume loss. If fat grafting is needed it is generally recommended at the time of a facelift in order to maximize your results.

A facelift is an outpatient surgery meaning you go home the same day as your surgery. You return the following day to have a compression wrap removed. Following that for the first week you will wear a compression neck garment to aid with swelling while you are at home. At your one week visit you will have sutures removed in front of the ears and will return at 2 weeks to have the remaining sutures removed behind the ears. You may resume physical activity at 3 weeks and return to social events at 3 weeks. However, you will be out and about prior to the 3 weeks' time. You will be up walking after surgery, just no heavy lifting or strenuous activity.

Many people have additional procedures performed like an upper and/or lower blepharoplasty, brow lift or fat grafting at the same time as a facelift. According to Dr. Chad Robbins this aids in achieving a more natural appearance as the neck and jowls do not look unlike the eyelids when they are performed at the same time.

Nashville, TN -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/11/2019 -- Mommy Makeover-Breast Implants and Tummy Tuck

A mommy makeover is a popular term referred to improving the appearance of breast and tummy. A mommy makeover typically involves placing breast implants and/or a lift or mastopexy and an abdominoplasty or tummy tuck performed at the same time. The mommy makeover refers to women of childbearing years who are looking to restore their pre-pregnancy appearance. Many women become unhappy with their appearance after pregnancy despite diet and exercise. A mommy makeover can make you feel more confident and like yourself prior to pregnancy.

An abdominoplasty or tummy tuck typically involves tightening abdominal muscles, removing excess skin and fat to the abdomen as well as liposuction to your love handles. A pain pump is placed at the time of surgery for patients at Robbins Plastic Surgery. A pain pump drips numbing medicine into your abdominal muscles after they are tightened for the first 3 days. This makes a big difference for patients in their level of comfort following surgery. The incision from a tummy tuck is hidden and not visible when wearing bathing suits and underwear. You will wear a compression binder for 6 weeks following surgery. This can be hidden under clothes when you are out and about after surgery.

A breast augmentation is the placement of silicone or saline breast implants to improve volume and shape to the breast. The implants are placed under the pectoral muscle to achieve a more natural look. The incisions are hidden in the crease of the breast are not visible in a bathing suit or bra. Women who have had children and breastfed may require a lift or mastopexy to improve the appearance of the breast. A lift or mastopexy can require longer scars that are not visible in bathing suits or bras.

It is recommended to wait until you are finished having children and breastfeeding before proceeding with a mommy makeover. This will give you the optimum results by waiting until family planning has been completed. Following a mommy makeover, you will not be able to lift over 8 pounds or perform any strenuous or vigorous activity for the first 3 weeks. You may resume normal activities after the first 3 weeks. Most patients are taking pain medication for the first week and then following that are taking over the counter pain medication. You will need help with children for the first week following surgery as most patients are not able to lift or drive the first week. Then after the first week most people are resuming activities are, they can tolerate.

A mommy makeover, when performed by a skilled plastic surgeon can give you lasting and rewarding outcome. It is always important to choose a board-certified plastic surgeon when deciding to have a mommy makeover. Be sure to review before and after pictures of mommy makeover before choosing a plastic surgeon for you.
