Arizona MD Passionate About Importance Reconstructive Breast Surgery

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/01/2010 -- Breast reconstruction is a surgical procedure to rebuild the contour of the breast, along with the nipple and areola (the pigmented area surrounding the nipple) if desired. Recent advances in reconstructive techniques have given patients more choices when it comes to breast reconstruction, including the option to have breast reconstruction during the same operation in which the breast is removed. While a breast cancer diagnosis requires timely treatment decisions, most women have a sufficient amount of time to research treatment and reconstructive options before breast cancer surgery.

According to Dr. Brian Olack, the leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Scottsdale, Arizona, "Breast cancer runs in my family, and my mother and two of my aunts are survivors. This played a large role in my decision to become a plastic surgeon. Breast reconstruction is a large part of my practice. I enjoy working with these patients because women progress as survivors, and by helping them regain their feminine form, I can help in their overall recovery."

The number of cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgeries has significantly increased in the last decade. Over 57,000 U.S. women choose to have breast reconstruction each year, either during the same time or sometime after breast cancer surgery. In addition, cosmetic surgeries continue to rise in the United States, with breast augmentation being the most popular-over 347,000 have the procedure each year. Women who chose to have breast reduction surgery are generally the most satisfied with the surgery compared others who undergo cosmetic surgery. This section discusses the different types of breast reconstructive surgery as well as cosmetic procedures such as breast augmentation, breast reduction, and breast lift.

Though some women are not interested in breast reconstruction, many breast specialists support reconstructive surgery as an important option for patients to consider. Women are encouraged to weigh both the advantages and disadvantages of breast reconstruction with their plastic surgeons and cancer treatment team and make an informed decision based on their own situation. Breast reconstruction is most often an option for women who have had mastectomy if their entire breast has been removed. Women who undergo lumpectomy (surgical removal of a breast lump and a margin of surrounding tissue) rarely need breast reconstruction.

The goal of breast reconstruction is to create breast symmetry when a woman is wearing a bra. When a woman is nude, the reconstructed breast will look different from the unaffected breast, regardless of the type of reconstruction chosen. However, when a woman is wearing a bra, the size and shape of the reconstructed breast should closely resemble the unaffected breast.

Circumferential Body Lift Surgeon Brian Olack Helps Formerly Obese

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/29/2010 -- Dr. Brian Olack, is developing a national and international base of new patients requesting the circumferential body lift as gastric bypass procedures increase dramatically. While health drives most obese people to the gastric bypass or lap-band, the surgeons who perform that procedure, often laparascopically, have patients who are committed to their health and physical attractiveness. This is where Dr. Olack serves a unique role in the total healing, self-image, and self-esteem of those formerly obese patients.

According to Dr. Brian Olack, the leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Scottsdale, Arizona, "Circumferential Body Lifts are essential for those who have lost more than 100 pounds. Massive weight loss, while extremely beneficial for overall health, can leave behind large amounts of excess skin. This is not only unsightly, but also can be a setup for pain and problematic rashes. There are many different options available for contouring these areas of excess skin, and circumferential body lift is a very powerful tool. It is beneficial for patients who have lost very large amounts of weight, because in these patients the skin tends to hang completely around the torso. A standard abdominoplasty, or tummy tuck, only addresses the abdomen and can still leave large amounts of skin on the flanks and low back. A circumferential lower body lift allows for the abdomen, flanks, and back to be lifted and recontoured."

One of Olack's patients is a 49 year old man who recently lost 130 pounds and reported, "I didn't work so hard to get healthy, look and feel this good, to allow the excess skin to remain as unsightly reminder of my days as an obese man. Dr. Olack understood how important it was for me to complete this part of my weight loss and performed a circumferential body lift procedure at the end of March. I'm amazed how well I have healed and am grateful that Dr. Olack is a real expert in this procedure."

Arizona Plastic Surgeon Brian Olack Talks Mommy Makeovers

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/28/2010 -- Women devote so much of their lives and resources to children - from time and energy to money and miles on the car. Most women suggest that every sacrifice is more than worthwhile to keep their family healthy and happy. Women are finding their own well-being is often lost. More than ever, women have exciting surgical options to reverse the unwanted effects of childbearing and age.

According to Dr. Brian Olack, the leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Scottsdale, Arizona, "A mommy makeover typically includes a tummy tuck and a breast lift with or without implants. Many women today are more active and want to restore their bodies to pre-pregnancy form and shape. If done in combination with a proper diet and exercise program, this procedure can be just what mothers need to get back to how their bodies used to feel. This can help promote a happy, healthy lifestyle for them and their partners."

The New York Times reported that these procedures are intended to hoist slackened skin as well as reduce stretch marks and pregnancy fat. There are severe physical trauma from pregnancy, childbirth, and breast-feeding. There can be negative effects that cause women to lose their hourglass figures and these surgeries are required to overhaul a post-pregnancy body.

Women no longer are willing to go on feeling self-conscious or resentful about their appearance. Many women struggle with the impact of aging and pregnancy on their bodies. Dr. Brian Olack, http://www.brianolackmd.com, is developing a national and international base of new patients requesting the Mommy Makeover procedures.

Health conscious mothers are committed to their long-term well-being and physical attractiveness. This is where Dr. Olack serves a unique role in the total healing, self-image, and self-esteem of moms who want to recapture that pre-pregnancy aesthetic.

Arizona Plastic Surgeon Brian Olack, M.D. Develops Strong Gay Patient Following

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/26/2010 -- More than 100,000 Americans a year having liposuction; it is now the No. 1 cosmetic surgery procedure in America in part because of a rise in interest from men. Over the past fifteen years the proportion of men having liposuction has increased from 10 percent to 40 percent. In 2011, it is estimated that the number of male patients will outnumber women having the procedure.

Dr. Brian Olack, the leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Scottsdale, Arizona, htttp://www.olackplasticsurgery.com, is developing a national and international base of gay patients who want to take advantage of new medicines and new aesthetic procedures to looking better, healthier, and younger. Olack, who recently moved from Ft. Lauderdale, Florida explained why he believes gay patients are so enthusiastic about his work.

Dr. Olack said, "The gay community often has patients who are very knowledgeable and very sure of what they desire in cosmetic results. I have found that in general, gay patients are very focused on their own recovery. While some criticize the attention to physical appearance often reported about members of the gay community, I take pride in being open and available to all patients…I take a very patient-centric approach to care. I've simply found that gay cosmetic surgery patients have taken an active role in the procedure and their recovery too."

There are no statistics on the sexual orientation of plastic surgery patients; recent data indicates a majority of male patients are gay men after a gym physique. Despite regular workouts and a prohibition on fatty foods and limited carbohydrates, gay men are increasingly having plastic surgeons, like Dr. Olack, create the desired waistline via liposuction.

Liposuction is also used in treating gynecomastia, or male breast enlargement. Candidates for this procedure generally have genetically determined fat deposits in the breast area or are on high doses of anabolic steroids or certain ulcer medications. Liposuction for gynecomastia is one of very few cosmetic procedures that may be covered by health insurance.

Men Want Long Lashes According to Brian Olack, M.D.

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2010 -- LATISSE solution is an actual growth treatment. In fact, it is the only FDA-approved treatment clinically proven to grow lashes. And it is the only lash growth product of its kind available by prescription. LATISSE solution is a once-a-day treatment applied topically to the base of upper eyelashes, as instructed by doctor Olack. Then, gradually, the results come in. Some patients start to see more length in as little as four weeks and most achieve full growth in sixteen weeks. Men like this because it their own eyelashes — only better.

According to Dr. Brian Olack, the leading plastic and reconstructive surgeon based in Scottsdale, Arizona, "Long eyelashes have been popular for many years, and there have been numerous synthetic eyelash products on the market. Because men do not want to use mascara or other synthetic products, LATISSE has become extremely popular as an eyelash stimulant, and the results have been fantastic. What started as a product that was almost exclusively sold to females has seen a surge in popularity among men as well."

One of Olack's patients is a 49 year old man who said, "I've always had these very thin and blonde lashes until Dr. Olack suggested I try LATISSE. After just three months my lashes are fuller, thicker, darker, and it really makes my eyes stand out. I would never have used mascara or other products but this is a tested medicine and it really works."

There has been a growing interest in this product ever since it was introduced. LATISSE is the first and only FDA-approved prescription treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes, growing them longer, fuller and darker.

LATISSE makes lash growth possible because of its active ingredient: bimatoprost. Although the precise mechanism of action is unknown, LATISSE is believed to affect the growth (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle in two ways: first, it increases the length of this phase, and second, it increases the number of hairs in this growth phase.

LATISSE is a treatment for inadequate or not enough eyelashes; it was developed through years of research by Allergan, a pharmaceutical leader with expertise in eye care products.

While the majority of LATISSE users may be women, Olack predicts and increasing number of men will be using the product over the next decade.

Brian Olack, M.D. Passionate About Performing Reconstructive Breast Surgery

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/16/2010 -- According to Dr.

Breast reconstruction is a surgical procedure to rebuild the contour of the breast, along with the nipple and areola (the pigmented area surrounding the nipple) if desired.

Brian Olack, M.D. Says Men Want Long Lashes Too

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/15/2010 -- According to Dr.

LATISSE solution is an actual growth treatment.

Mommy Makeovers Make Woman Feel Sexy Again Notes World Class Plastic Surgeon Brian Olack

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/14/2010 -- According to Dr.

Women devote so much of their lives and resources to children - from time and energy to money and miles on the car. Most women suggest that every sacrifice is more than worthwhile to keep their family healthy and happy. Women are finding their own well-being is often lost. More than ever, women have exciting surgical options to reverse the unwanted effects of childbearing and age.

Brian Olack, M.D. Performs Post Gastric Bypass Circumferential Body Lift Procedure

Scottsdale, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/10/2010 -- According to Dr.

Dr. Brian Olack, http://www.brianolackmd.com, is developing a national and international base of new patients requesting the circumferential body lift as gastric bypass procedures increase dramatically.
