Triathletes World Gives Thumbs up to Going Going Bike, the Online Bike Auction

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/07/2011 -- Triathletes World, the leading triathlon magazine, featured Going Going Bike, the online bike auction, in their March 2011 edition and recommended the online bike auction site as the best place to upgrade your bike.

In an interview covering a range of issues, Andrew Nethercot, co-founder, explained how he got hooked on cycling as a result of competing in triathlons. In addition his early triathlons were directly responsible for the creation of Going Going Bike (http://www.goinggoingbike.com/).

As explained in the article in Triathlete's World, the need to go faster on the bike during triathlons made Andrew look for a good quality and legitimate used bicycle. His experience was that it was difficult to find a good second hand bike that would be competitive in triathlons. In addition it became clear that many used bikes were stolen.

Forced to buy a more expensive new bike Andrew always thought there was a need for an online marketplace for bicycles that made buying and selling new and used bikes more simple and transparent.

The interview in the March edition of Triathletes World also explains Going Going Bike's view that it is the ideal resource for triathletes who have to buy kit for three different sports. Not only does it allow triathletes to buy kit for swimming, biking and running cheaply but it also allows them to sell their old kit when they want to upgrade.

Going Going Bike Supports Latest London Tube Strikes and Thanks Bob Crow

Going Going Bike have issued a 5 point blog of support in favour of the latest London tube strikes scheduled to start on Tuesday 2 November. Going Going Bike, the online auction site dedicated to bicycles, support the strike and thank Bob Crow.

London, England -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/05/2010 -- Going Going Bike http://www.goinggoingbike.com/ support the latest round of tube strikes, which are scheduled to start on Tuesday evening. In their five point blog of support for the industrial action Going Going Bike set out why the strike is good for Londoners and provide reasons for Londoners to embrace the bicycle during the strike period.

During a period when there are a number of planned industrial actions, Going Going Bike want to lead the way in viewing the glass as half full. Andrew Nethercot, Directeur Sportif of Going Going Bike, explained "Lots of strikes are planned but I see no reason why this should be anything other than a winter of content. As we have shown, in our blog of support, the tube strikes provide a great opportunity for Londoners to get cycling and reconnect with each other. For these reasons we are supporting the tube strikes. We would like to say thank you Bob Crow. Your actions are giving a further boost to cycling in London."

Going Going Bike have compiled a five point blog of support to encourage commuters onto their bikes, promote positive thinking and reward London's cyclists with a free coffee from their friends at Nude Espresso.

Blog of Support for the strikes

1 - Reconnect with your bike
No tubes. Buses are full. Taxis expensive. The tube strikes provide the perfect opportunity to get back on your bike and cycle to work. Cycling to work is one of the best ways to start the day. It's also a great way to return home and leave the stress of the office behind you. So enjoy it (the forecast is good http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/) and perhaps don't wait until the next strike to cycle to work.

2 - Meet the man/woman of your dreams
Commuters on the tube don't talk to each other. Cyclists on their way to work do (see the Going Going Going Bike blog posting on flirting for further insights). Take the opportunity to speak to your fellow commuters and you never know who you might meet or where the chance encounter at London Bridge might take you.

3 - Enjoy coffee and art
Nude Espresso are offering a free cup of coffee to anyone who cycles to work on Wednesday 3rd November and cycles into their Roastery between 12pm and 3pm. The Nude Espresso Roastery is located at 91-95 Brick Lane in the Old Truman Brewery carpark behind 93 Feet East. After cycling to work a caffeine hit will perk you up for the afternoon and you can enjoy some of their award winning freshly roasted coffee! Nude Espresso are currently hosting the "God Spank the Queen" art exhibition so you can catch up on some culture too.

4 - More Boris Bikes
There's not a Boris Bike to be had when there's a tube strike in town. You can check out this site if you don't believe us http://www.oobrien.com/vis/bikes/. We reckon that the more tube strikes there are the more docking stations and bikes will be built around town. This is something we can also support.

5 - Excuse to arrive late and leave early
Tube strikes are a quasi-legitimate excuse for Londoners to arrive late at work and leave early. No matter whether you are cycling to work, live within a short walking distance of your office or take the main line train workers throughout the City are able to treat the tube-strike day differently. We can all be grateful to the strikers for this.
