(website http://www.dallascontracting.com ) was contracted by a large developer to demolish all structures at a site in New Jersey. The site consisted of a large farm style house, barns and sheds. Demolition contracting services included the demolition and remove all structures, concrete floors, slabs, footings and foundations.
Instead of demolishing the one large barn, Dallas Contracting dismantled and salvaged the wood beams and members. The wood beams and salvage timbers were sold as architectural and wood salvaged materials.

To accomplish the demolition of the buildings, Dallas Contracting utilized several different pieces of heavy equipment including a Komatsu PC 300 with grapple (also used with a concrete pulverizer), a rubber tired wheel loader with 5 cubic yard bucket and a Cat 236 skid steer loader.

Demolished concrete was placed in a nearby stockpile for crushing. Concrete was crushed utilizing a Komatsu PC220LC excavator with bucket attachment and an UltraMax 1000-15CV Plant (manufactured by Eagle Crusher Company, Inc.). The Ultramax is a 3 stage portable crushing unit that has a feed hopper size of 11 cubic yards and is powered by a 275HP Diesel and 75KW generator. The typical throughput for the crushing plant for material of this nature is about 1000+ tons per day.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Crushes Over 125,000 Tons of Concrete and Masonry in 2006

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/27/2007 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., a specialized contractor providing demolition, onsite concrete crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, crushed over 125,000 tons of concrete and masonry materials in the 2006 calendar year.

Dallas Contracting sees a continued increase in demand for onsite / mobile crushing services. In 2005, approximately 100,000 tons of concrete, masonry, block and brick were crushed. An increase of 25,000 tons was realized in 2006 bringing the total for crushed materials in 2006 to 125,000 tons.

For environmental reasons and to realize cost savings, clients have been increasingly requesting the onsite crushing of concrete, brick, masonry and asphalt to be utilized as backfill onsite. The benefits of onsite crushing and reuse of these materials onsite are:

• Environmentally friendly - conserves landfill space
• Client saves money by not having to export materials offsite for recycling
• Client saves money by not having to import backfill materials
• Crushed materials can be used as structural and non structural fill

To accomplish the crushing services, Dallas Contracting uses an Eagle Crusher Company, Inc. UltraMax 1000-15CV crushing plant with stacking conveyors. The mobile crushing plant is a 3-stage unit with a 36 inch discharge conveyor, stacking conveyors 36 inches by 50 feet and is capable of crushing 200 tons per hour of concrete, masonry, brick or asphalt. An excavator with an operator loads the crusher and several laborers make sure the equipment is running efficiently.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completes Tank Farm Demolition Project

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., a specialized contractor providing demolition, onsite concrete crushing and equipment salvage, recently completed the demolition of a tank farm on an active facility in Central New Jersey.

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/05/2007 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (Dallas Contracting) was tasked with the dismantlement and removal of eleven (11) steel, above ground storage tanks (both vertical and horizontal) and all related steel piping and valves. The tanks had been pre-cleaned by the owner and all asbestos containing materials had also been abated.

Initially, laborers cold cut the steel piping and conduits connected to the tanks. Once these connections were severed, the storage tanks were then removed by hoisting them from the containment area with one of Dallas Contracting's hydraulic cranes. The steel tanks were lifted directly from the diked area onto awaiting Dallas Contracting owned trucks (lowboys and flatbeds). From the site, the steel tanks were then sent directly to the scrap recycling facility. Once all tanks were removed from the diked area, the remaining piping and valves were demolished and the steel also sent to the scrap recycling yard.

The project was completed in approximately two weeks with no incidents or injuries.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completes Large Demolition Project at Cement Plant in West Virginia

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 12/22/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (website http://www.dallascontracting.com ) was contracted by Essroc Italcementi Group (Essroc) to demolish sixteen (16) cement and sand storage silos, several outlying buildings and also excavate out an area of property containing basements and foundations from former buildings and structures at the Essroc Cement Plant in Martinsburg, West Virginia. A portion of the plant needed to be demolished prior to Essroc's planned site renovation, representing a total investment of $320 million. Essroc is a leading North American cement producer headquartered in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, with an annual capacity of 7 million metric tons. Essroc is a member of Italcementi Group, one of the largest cement producers in the world, based in Bergamo, Italy.

The standing silos and buildings comprised the bulk of the above grade demolition work. Eleven (11) of the silos were 26 feet in diameter by 45 feet high and were 60-75% filled with sand or cement. Five (5) of the silos were clustered and measured 26 feet diameter by 80 feet high and were filled 75-85% with sand or cement. The standing buildings varied in height from 1 to 3 stories with an average footprint of 25,000 square feet.

Prior to demolition, several of the silos required asbestos abatement of the roofs. While this was being accomplished, Dallas Contracting developed a Site Specific HASP/Work Plan and detailed demolition notification to the West Virginia DEP.

Each silo was filled to a varying degree with aggregate and finished product as well as a residual coating of cement on the outside of the structures. The large amount of dust and cement powder, posed a significant dust control issue for Dallas Contracting employees and plant employees during the demolition phase. Dallas Contracting selected the patent-pending DustBoss dust suppression system for its air quality management. Two (2) DustBoss units with portable generators were utilized to create a dust barrier between the area to be demolished and the active plant. The dust control measures were very effective in controlling fugitive dust emissions.

To accomplish the demolition of the silos and buildings to grade, Dallas Contracting utilized several different pieces of heavy equipment including a Komatsu PC 450 LC with a fabricated steel "rake" attachment, a Komatsu PC 400 LC with concrete pulverizer attachment, a Komatsu 300 with concrete pulverizer, a rubber tired wheel loader with 5 cubic yard bucket and a Cat 236 skid steer loader. A 200 ton P&H lattice boom crane with wrecking ball was also utilized on the 80 foot tall silos to reduce them to a height of 40 foot, enabling the PC 450 excavator to safely complete the process.

Demolished concrete was placed in a nearby stockpile for crushing where as cement and sand materials where trucked to a separate storage area using two (2) John Deere 250D articulated off road dump trucks and two (2) Caterpillar D350D articulated off road dump trucks.

The silos were constructed of a substantial amount of rebar with inner I-beams for additional reinforcement and support. As the silos were demolished a substantial amount of scrap metal was generated that was sorted from the cement and sand debris, loaded into containers and trailers and then sent offsite for recycling.

Once the structures were demolished to grade, Dallas Contracting proceeded to remove all slabs, foundations and footings. This work was accomplished utilizing the mentioned heavy equipment with the addition of a Komatsu 300 with 8,000 psi hammer, a Komatsu 200 with 5,000 psi hammer and a Cat 963 track loader.

A massive excavation program was then undertaken to remove additional buried footings, foundations and structures as well as buried waste materials to make room for new pilings and footings foundations. The new foundations will provide for two new storage silos to be erected by Essroc. To meet the growing excavation demands, (2) additional Daewoo 420 Excavators were added to the equipment roster. For several months, Dallas Contracting had twelve (12) pieces of heavy equipment, twelve operators, a site supervisor / health and safety officer, project manager and assorted support vehicles to complete this phase of the project. A substantial amount of excavation was done through rock and difficult soil conditions. The rock excavation was expedited using the (3) hammer equipped excavators to first break the rock, while the excavators with buckets would undermine the rock and load the materials into the articulated trucks. Over 150,000 yards of material was excavated, sorted, transported and stockpiled.

Broken concrete from slabs, footings, buildings and silos was then crushed onsite using a Fintec 1007 track-mounted jaw crusher. Powered by a 273-kW Deutz diesel engine, the 42-tonne track-mounted Fintec 1107 incorporates the rugged new Sandvik Real J11 1100x700 single-toggle jaw crusher and the Sandvik Roxon 4000x1000-mm grizzly. For optimum intake and crushing characteristics, the unit is equipped with a 6 m3 hopper with hydraulically foldable sides, a reversible hydrostatic crusher drive and a 40-125 mm hydraulically adjustable closed-side setting (CSS). The unit was also equipped with radio controlled tracks, an overband magnet and dust suppression equipment. The Fintec 1107 has a production rate of between 150 and 300 tonnes per hour, depending on the characteristics of the feed material and the product size required. The crushed materials were utilized onsite as structural fill, road base, and backfilling depressions.

Safety was paramount on this project due to the proximity to the edge of the quarry as well as the remaining active plant structures and roadways. MSHA and OSHA regulations were strictly adhered to and enforced. A significant portion of the project was observed directly by an onsite MSHA officer. The entire project was completed in approximately 4 months without incident or injury.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completed Demolition of Large Tank Farm in New Jersey (NJ)

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/03/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, recently completed the demolition of a large tank farm in Northern New Jersey (NJ) .

The project scope of work consisted of the demolition of a large tank farm in Northern New Jersey for an international bulk storage and handling company. In total, Dallas Contracting was tasked with the demolition of twenty-five (25) steel tanks ranging in size from 100,000 gallons to 500,000 gallons. The tanks were comprised of carbon steel and generated an estimated 550 tons of recyclable scrap metal.

Due to the proximity of other active operations, no hot torch cutting was allowed and only cold cutting was acceptable. To accomplish the demolition of the tank farm, a Komatsu PC400LC excavator mounted with a hydraulic rotating shear was utilized to cut the tank steel into manageable pieces. A Komatsu PC300 with grapple was utilized to load the scrap metal into trailers for offsite recycling.

Due to Dallas Contracting's expert scrap metal recycling techniques and ability to obtain the highest value for the scrap metals, a substantial credit was provided to the client to partially offset the demolition costs. On larger demolition projects with more scrap metals, Dallas Contracting has even paid the client to perform the project (i.e. no cost to client and client actually receives compensation).

The project was completed on schedule and without incident or injury.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Dismantles and Salvages Wood From Old Buildings

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/18/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, recently completed the dismantlement and salvage of wood from numerous old buildings in Newark, New Jersey. The dismantlement scope is a smaller portion of a larger total chemical plant demolition project.

Dallas Contracting has had significant experience with salvaging of wood beams and planks and knew that the salvaging efforts would not only be profitable but would also be environmentally friendly. An engineering estimate was conducted on the wood beam and plank buildings for salvage value of the yellow pine timbers and it was decided that saving of the wood made both economic sense (the salvaged wood materials can be sold) as well as an environmentally conscientious decision (wood materials re-utilized versus transporting to landfill for disposal). The buildings to be dismantled consisted of five (5) 100 + year old, multi-story buildings with an approximate footprint of 75,000 square feet. Each of the buildings was constructed similarly and composed of brick walls, wood plank floors, wood support beams and timbers and a wooden roof. It was determined that the wood building materials were composed of a mix of short leaf and long leaf Yellow Pine and some Douglas Fir.

A dedicated crew was utilized to dismantle the buildings with a separate crew dedicated to preparation and loading of the bundled salvaged wood materials. An experienced dismantlement crew consisting of 6-8 laborers, a skid steer, a lull and a forklift worked in the buildings to safely and efficiently salvage the wood materials. This crew then brought the salvaged wood materials to a staging area where another crew, consisting of 3-4 laborers, a forklift, banding machine and various hand tools, worked to strip the wood of nails, cut off broken ends, stack, band and then load the materials onto flatbeds destined for the salvage yard.

Nearly 100,000 board feet of salvaged wood materials were reclaimed from the buildings. The reclaimed timbers and planking were either milled into new timbers or new flooring. A minimal amount of wood waste was generated for offsite disposal. Another benefit was that the remaining brick materials were very clean of any debris which made future onsite crushing easier. The entire dismantlement project was done without accident or injury.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Utilizes DustBoss® to Effectively Control Dust Emissions

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/14/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing and equipment salvage to various industries successfully suppressed dust emissions on a project in West Virgina by utilizing DustBoss® dust controlling equipment.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (Dallas Contracting) was hired by a leading manufacturer of cement and chemical admixtures to demolish a large portion of their old cement production plant in West Virgina to make room for a large plant expansion. Dallas Contracting was tasked with demolishing fourteen (14) silos and several other miscellaneous buildings and structures. All structures had significant dust accumulation on the outside as well as many of the silos were ½ to ¾ full of cement powder.

With the amount of dust and cement powder, demolition of these structures posed a significant dust control issue for Dallas Contracting, jobsite employees and neighboring bystanders. The conventional method of controlling dust has been a laborer holding a hose or a hose mounted to a fixed anchor mechanism. Fire hoses create water droplets 300 – 3,000 microns in size, which cannot cover a sufficient area to control the minute particles of dust emissions typical of a demolition project. In addition, dust suppression via fire hoses is an inefficient use of labor and natural resources. A better method needed to be evaluated to achieve proper dust suppression at this large, long-term demolition project.

Dallas Contracting selected the patent-pending DustBoss dust suppression system for its dust control needs. The DustBoss is a fully automatic oscillating ducted fan incorporating a high-pressure water misting system that creates a Virtual Dust Barrier™. This system can connect to a normal garden hose and eliminate manual labor and high water volumes typical of a manned fire hose dust suppression operation. Further, the DustBoss unit blankets between 5,500 - 21,000 square feet with a mist of 50-75 micron-sized dust-attracting water particles, the optimal size for agglomeration of dust particles—coating the dust and driving it to the ground.

At this cement plant demolition project, two (2) DustBoss units with portable generators were utilized. The DustBoss units were setup to create a dust barrier between the area to be demolished and the active plant. The Mine Safety & Health Administration (MSHA) was also onsite and observed the units in operation. The units were very effective in suppression of dust emissions, therefore, no dust complaints were filed. John Sisto, President of Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. stated, "We were very pleased with the effectiveness of the DustBoss units on this demolition project. The demolition of the silos was a potential dust pollution and health nightmare and these units effectively resolved this issue for us. In addition, with MSHA onsite we were very pleased that we received no dust complaints due to the effective dust suppression achieved with the DustBoss units. We would use these units again on a project of this nature".

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completes Warehouse Surgical Demolition Project in West Virginia

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/02/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, completed the surgical demolition / separation of a warehouse addition in West Virginia.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. (Dallas Contracting) was contracted by Howard Shockey & Sons, Inc. to separate ("surgically demolish") a 15,000 square foot warehouse addition from the main warehouse in preparation of a warehouse expansion. Three (3) large carbon steel storage tanks within the inner courtyard also needed to be demolished. The project needed to be completed in no more then two weeks.

Several tasks need to be completed prior to the start of demolition activities. All utilities were disconnected. An asbestos inspection was also conducted and no asbestos was present (no asbestos abatement was required). The storage tanks were also checked to make sure they were empty.

Dallas Contracting first needed to separate the building addition from the main warehouse section that was to remain intact. This was accomplished utilizing laborers with torches in man-lifts. The connecting steel beam and bolts were carefully cut via torch cutting. Once the adjoining walls and connections had been severed, the addition was carefully pulled away from the main structure utilizing a large excavator with a bucket and thumb attachment. The separated warehouse addition was then demolished utilizing an excavator with shear with assistance from laborers with cutting torches. The steel tanks were also demolished via hydraulic shear and torch cutting.

Debris was carefully separated from recyclable materials via a bobcat and laborers and then loaded and shipped offsite for disposal. Steel and metals were sent offsite for scrap metal recycling. The slab and foundations remained so there was no concrete recycling or disposal.

The project was completed ahead of schedule (less then two weeks) and without incident or injury.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Obtains Air Permit For Mobile Crushing Plant

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/22/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, recently obtained an air pollution permit for their mobile crushing plant for the State of New Jersey.

For environmental reasons and cost savings, clients have been increasingly requesting the onsite crushing of concrete, brick, masonry and asphalt to be utilized as backfill onsite. The benefits of onsite crushing of materials (concrete, masonry, brick and asphalt) are:

·	Environmentally friendly - conserves landfill space
·	Client saves money by not having to export materials offsite for recycling
·	Client saves money by not having to import backfill materials
·	Crushed materials can be used as structural and non structural fill

To meet the increasing demand for onsite crushing, Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. applied to the State of New Jersey for an Air Pollution Control Pre-Construction Permit for their Eagle Crusher Company, Inc. Ultra Max Impactor 1000-15CV Mobile Crushing Plant. The mobile crushing plant is a 3-stage unit with a 36 inch discharge conveyor, stacking conveyors 36 inches by 50 feet and is capable of crushing 200 tons per hour of concrete, masonry, brick or asphalt. The New Jersey Department of Environmental protection (NJDEP) issued Dallas Contracting a permit (Facility ID Number 18557) for a Mobile Crushing unit with dust suppression system.

Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. Completes Demolition Services for Redevelopment Project

South Plainfield, NJ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 06/12/2006 -- Dallas Contracting Co., Inc., (website: http://www.dallascontracting.com) a specialized contractor providing demolition services, onsite concrete aggregate crushing, equipment salvage and scrap metal recycling to various industries, recently completed the demolition of various buildings as part of a redevelopment project.

Dallas Contracting was contracted directly by a large publicly traded developer to demolish five (5) commercial and residential structures in Belmar, New Jersey. The structures consisted of three (3) multi story houses, one strip mall and a large three story commercial building for a total square footage of over 15,000 sf. In addition, there were several driveways and parking lots to be demolished.

Prior to demolition, all utilities (gas, electric, sewer, water, cable, etc.) needed to be disconnected. In addition, the structures contained asbestos containing materials (ACM), which needed to be abated prior to demolition. Asbestos abatement of the structures was conducted by the Mack Group, LLC (www.mackgrp.com). Asbestos abatement services included the removal of asbestos containing roofing materials, floor tile, transite siding, wall board and flashings.

Once asbestos abatement was completed, Dallas Contracting Co., Inc. was able to obtain the demolition permit and commence demolition of the buildings. Demolition was conducted utilizing Komatsu excavators mounted with grapple and bucket attachments, skid steers mounted with demo buckets, and a crew consisting of operators and laborers. Special attention was placed on several of the buildings, which were situated near a state highway. These buildings were carefully demolished so that no debris fell towards the roadway. To accomplish this, the buildings were demolished in a controlled manner using a large PC300 excavator with a grapple attachment, which "pulled "the building towards the project area which in turn made the debris fall away from the highway. Spotters were also utilized to add a level of safety.

Debris was properly disposed offsite, scrap metals were collected and recycled and all masonry, concrete and brick was crushed onsite and recycled offsite. In addition, the asphalt parking lots and driveways were demolished and all asphalt materials were sent offsite for recycling.

Now that demolition is complete, the site will soon be redeveloped for new housing.

The project was completed on schedule and without incident or injury.
