eDoctor, Inc. Announces New Integrated OpenEMR Solution

eDoctor, Inc., a premier provider of Health IT solutions, is proud to announce the debut of their new Meaningful Use-certified OpenEMR solution for healthcare providers seeking to streamline office workflow, receive Medicare incentives, and increase patient satisfaction.

Rockville, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/28/2011 -- eDoctor, Inc., an innovative provider of Health IT solutions, now offers a Meaningful Use-certified Ambulatory EMR through the Open Source OpenEMR project. A state-of-the-art Web-based software system, the eDoctor OpenEMR is a comprehensive Health IT package providing numerous features including practice management, clinical management, and electronic billing. Integrated within the eDoctor OpenEMR are certified NewCrop-based e-Prescribing, the iON Laboratory Order and Entry System, and our new Patient Appointment and Management System- all designed to streamline office workflow, increase physician and patient satisfaction, and earn Medicare incentives.

"We know how busy doctors are," said Se Kang, eDoctor's President. "We wanted to offer a system that could do everything for our clients within one convenient account- with an affordable cost and a clear data ownership policy."

The OpenEMR 4.1 is a ONC-ATB Ambulatory EMR certified for 2011-2012 Meaningful Use requirements. A multi-platform EMR, the OpenEMR 4.1 was originally developed by a team of physicians and programmers through the nonprofit OpenSource EMR foundation. The software is easily customizable, multilingual, and multi-facility capable- ideal for both smaller practices and larger clinics. Noted for its simplicity and ease of use, the OpenEMR is an excellent choice to transition from a paper-based to an electronic office. Use of the OpenEMR qualifies practices for Medicare Meaningful Use incentives totalling $44,000 over the next few years.

eDoctor's training services and integration of the OpenEMR provide additional features to boost office efficiency and patient satisfaction. Included with our OpenEMR is our Surescripts-certified NewCrop e-Prescribing solution, through an exclusive partnership with NewCrop, and the iON Laboratory Computerized Physician Order Entry (CPOE) System, a state-of-the-art patient laboratory results software powered by Atlas. The iON CPOE System provides access to online ordering and reporting, unifying patient results from participating labs onto one efficient and easily accessible page. Also built into the eDoctor OpenEMR is our new Patient Appointment and Management System, a unique Web-based portal which allows patients to search for doctors and book appointments online- increasing practice exposure and patient convenience while reducing empty appointment slots.

Unlike other EMR providers, eDoctor believes that the ownership of all gathered patent data belongs to the clinicians entrusted by the patient to manage their health record. eDoctor will not sell or use this entrusted data with anyone. In the spirit of the Open Source community, we will not charge for the OpenEMR platform. We are only charging for the implementation, setup, configuration, training, support, and maintenance of clients' OpenEMR platform. Each OpenEMR is owned by the client, protecting them from future uncertainties that come with most EMR vendor solutions.

eDoctor, Inc. Praises Inclusion of Goal to "Reduce Medication Errors" As New Part of Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 6-12, 2011

eDoctor, Inc., a leading health IT company based in Rockville, MD, praises the National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), organizers of Patient Safety Awareness Week, for this year including the goal to “reduce medication errors” as part of its 9th annual event to promote awareness about work being done to promote patient safety across the U.S. and the globe. eDoctor, Inc.’s e-prescribing software, powered by NewCrop, addresses potential medication errors head-on.

Rockville, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/17/2011 -- eDoctor, Inc., a leading e-prescribing and health IT company based in Rockville, MD, today lauded the non-profit National Patient Safety Foundation (NPSF), organizers of Patient Safety Awareness Week, for this year including the goal to "reduce medication errors" as part of its 9th annual event to promote awareness about the work being done to promote patient safety across the U.S. and the globe.

Mr. Se Kang, president, eDoctor, Inc., said: "Medication errors can be a significant breach in the patient safety dam, such as when difficult-to-read handwriting is translated incorrectly, either by the pharmacist and/or the patient. Countless other breakdowns can occur in a system that depends on an often ill and likely distracted patient to make it from point A to point B, all while holding a small piece of paper containing extremely critical information."

Mr. Kang's company, eDoctor, Inc., has an e-prescribing software product, certified by industry standard SureScripts, that can address potential medication errors head-on by creating an electronic connection between the physician's office and the pharmacy, so that all the patient has to do is take out his or her wallet and pay, no small feat itself in today's challenging economy.

Almost a decade old, Patient Safety Awareness Week is a concerted, multi-stakeholder effort by NPSF to raise knowledge of patient safety initiatives, strengthen the bond between patients and their health care providers, and, as a result, contribute in a meaningful way to the quality of health care. Each and every year, more hospitals and health care systems participate in this engaging educational event, a fundamental building block in the foundation that must be laid for safe patient care to take firm hold throughout the entire health care community.

"This is the first year that NPSF has chosen to put a spotlight on the specific goal of 'reducing medication errors' as part of Patient Safety Awareness Week, but I am confident that it won't be the last," said Mr. Kang. "While issues such as infection control and hand hygiene are very important, there should also be no doubt that a medication error can be devastating to a successful patient outcome. eDoctor, Inc.'s software, powered by our partner NewCrop, is dedicated to providing physicians with the electronic tools necessary to greatly reduce the chances of such an error occurring."

eDoctor, Inc. Raising Awareness to Prevent 2012/13 MIPPA Penalties

Late-November CMS electronic prescribing incentives update for 2011 finalized stipulations regarding the adoption of electronic prescribing in 2011 to avoid incurring penalties in 2012 and 2013.

Rockville, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/05/2011 -- eDoctor, Inc., a web-based health IT company, announced today that physicians can avoid 2012 and 2013 MIPPA penalties by taking advantage of eDoctor's affordable and easy e-prescribing program.

According to the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS)'s 2011 Electronic Prescribing (eRx) Incentive Update published in November 2010, e-prescribing data from January 1, 2011 to June 30, 2011 will be used to determine if physicians are subject to 2011 penaltiies.

"At the end of November, CMS finalized a policy in which practitioners need to do e-prescribing ten times by June of 2011, or else they would be hit with a 1% penalty in 2012. This last-minute change by CMS still gives doctors time to not only avoid 2012 penalties, but also to take advantage of the 1% reimbursement for all of 2011," said Se Kang, President of eDoctor, Inc.

eDoctor, Inc. provides a standalone e-Prescribing system that will affordably allow doctors to fully comply with CMS changes. In partnership with Newcrop, a Surescripts Gold-certified back engine, eDoctor also provides data migration and live syncing services that are now being used by hundreds of practitioners in over 15 states.

"In just three months, eDoctor has really established itself as the go-to company for an affordable and intuitive e-prescribing module. That kind of success speaks directly to the quality of eDoctor's offerings, and most of all, service. As a doctor myself, I appreciate the simplicity of eDoctor's standalone e-prescribing system," said Dr. Ingrid Chung, Co-Chairman of the eDoctor's Medical Advisory Board.
