Noetic Learning Math Contest is an elementary math problem solving contest held twice a year. 12,630 young students representing 649 teams across the country participated in this spring contest.  <br />

Read More...</p><p>Walnut Creek, CA -- (<a rel="nofollow" href="http://www.sbwire.com/">SBWIRE</a>) --06/06/2011 --  Apex College Prep team (Junesoo Jeon, Ryan Jiang, Jiheum Yeom, Jackson Stenger), coached by Jason Yi, placed first out of 8 teams at the 3rd Annual Apex Math Olympiad at Dorris Eaton School on Saturday, May 21, 2011. Placing second was Los Cerros Middle School team (Claire Bekker, Lauren Glenn, Reilly Olson, Ryan Olson, Brian Yu) and third was another Apex College Prep team (Kailash Baas, Grant Stenger, Michael Wornow, Harry Yoon). 40 students in grades 6 to 8 each competed face-to-face for 3 hours on 5-member teams. <br />

Sponsored by Apex College Prep and organized by Julie Yi, the students had to solve 20 to 25 clever, engaging, and challenging problems on a variety of mathematical topics. This produced an exciting atmosphere for student and teacher alike.<br />

Junesoo Jeon of Apex College Prep was the outstanding individual for the day, taking first place in an exhilarating playoff.  Placing second was Jiheum Yeom of Apex College Prep, Brian Yu of Los Cerros Middle School was third.<br />
