Bangalore, Karnataka -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/08/2011 -- Toyota Kirloskar Motor has registered a growth of 53% in sales in January 2011, compared to the same period last year. It sold 9185 units in January 2011 against 5989 units in January 2010.The Etios which was launched in Dec 2010, has seen an overwhelming response with more than 22,000 bookings received so far. 1651 units were delivered this month.

Commenting on the performance in the first month of the year, Mr. Sandeep Singh, Deputy Managing Director-Marketing, TKM said, "Its been a good beginning to the year. The growth can be attributed to the encouraging sales of the existing models and the overwhelming response received from the Etios."

The Innova, Corolla Altis and the Fortuner have also registered a surge in sales, contributing to the overall growth this month. The sales numbers are mentioned in the table below.
