Black Nonbelievers Introduces New Partnership Program

BN calls for multi year commitments from secular organizations to advance our important community and racial justice work.

Atlanta, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/01/2021 -- Black Nonbelievers is the foremost organization for black atheists, agnostics, and humanists. Founded in 2011 by Mandisa Thomas, Black Nonbelievers undertakes a variety of activities to support and uplift Black nontheists.

However, Black Nonbelievers does not have paid staff to help accomplish these critical functions. In order to accomplish these goals effectively, Black Nonbelievers needs a dedicated Executive Director, and a part-time assistant.

"While BN appreciates all of the support we have received over the years, we still have yet to reach the point where we can expand our operations in a fully functioning manner," says Thomas. "The growth of our organization is vital not only to those who need us, but also to the organizations that work alongside us".

Black Nonbelievers is introducing a Partnership Program, targeting organizations for multi-year commitments, which can better facilitate development and expand activities.

Funds will be used to advance BN's mission to empower Black Secular Americans in the fight for racial justice, create programs and resources that will benefit members, and tackle the issues that directly impact our communities.

Partner organizations will receive annual reports, which will include financial statements as well as a summary of progress and achievements. Partners will also have priority access to working opportunities with BN and will also be prioritized for cross promotion. In addition, their contributions will be acknowledged by BN on social media, press releases, and a listing on BN's website.

Two Partner-level tiers are available to supporting organizations:
Full Partner : $10,000
Associate Partner: $5,000

To support the work of Black Nonbelievers as a partner organization, please send a check enclosing one of the two amounts made out to Black Nonbelievers, and mailto:

Women of Color Beyond Belief Conference

Women of Color Beyond Belief is back in 2021!

Atlanta, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/18/2021 -- Presented by Black Nonbelievers, the Black Skeptics Group, and the Women's Leadership Project, the Women of Color Beyond Belief Conference is the only national secular forum exclusively focused on the perspectives of women of color atheists, agnostics, humanists, freethinkers and skeptics. The conference highlights the social justice work of women of color within the secular community, and provides an intersectional, feminist vision of leadership and activism in secularism. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the conference was rescheduled from 2020, and an online streaming option has been added.

Conference organizers Mandisa Thomas, Sikivu Hutchinson and Bria Crutchfield state, " The Women of Color Beyond Belief team is committed to the safety of our attendees, our speakers, and our sponsors. This conference represents a critical juncture in the emergence of secular feminist activism and organizing. And as we continue to see the growing number of women examine and reject the fallacies of organized religion and faith-based dogma, it is now more important than ever that all our work is more visible, and sufficiently supported."

Student rates are available, and childcare will be available for the in-person event. Sponsorship opportunities are also available, including for economically disadvantaged attendees.
