Central Maryland Regional Transit Chooses MJM Innovations to Develop New Transportation Website

TRIP will provide Maryland residents with state-wide public and private transportation information in one convenient website

Baltimore, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/05/2011 -- MJM Innovations, a firm specializing in electronic transaction software solutions and management services for the transportation industry, announced today that it was chosen by Central Maryland Regional Transit (CMRT) to develop the Transportation Resource Information Point (TRIP), a website that will serve as a centralized database for state-wide public and private transit information.

MJM Innovations won the TRIP project through a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process to develop and maintain both the database and the website.

TRIP (http://www.mdtrip.org) officially launched on April 20, 2011 and now serves as a "one-stop shop" for Maryland residents seeking transportation information throughout the major Baltimore metropolitan area, including Annapolis and Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford and Howard Counties. MJM Innovations created the technology that aggregates the information from each of these organizations to comprise the TRIP website and database and worked with marketing, advertising and public relations firm Devaney & Associates to design the website. Now that TRIP is live, MJM will continue to host and maintain the website.

"At MJM Innovations, in addition to building and implementing transaction and web-based software, we also specialize in developing and creating customized websites and databases for our clients, and we have utilized that expertise to ensure that TRIP became the most comprehensive transportation information website in our area," said Stephanie Clayville, Project Manager, MJM Innovations. "We are happy to expand our services within the transportation industry to provide TRIP as a service to Maryland commuters, who are now able to find their local transportation options faster and easier in one convenient site."

"Collaborating with MJM in this process has been a very smooth and gratifying experience," said Michael Owino, JARC Mobility Manager, CMRT. "Everyone who I have dealt with has been a consummate professional and I have been especially impressed by the turnaround time in making requested changes, abiding by our agreed-upon timeline and consistently turning over high-quality deliverables. I look forward to our continued relationship with MJM."

Harris County, Texas Selects MJM Innovations to Enhance RIDES Program

Firm will implement electronic fare & data capture for specialized transportation program

Baltimore, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/14/2011 -- MJM Innovations, a firm specializing in electronic transaction software solutions and management services for the transportation industry, announced today that it has been chosen by Harris County, Texas, to implement electronic fare and data technology for the county's RIDES program. The RIDES program provides non-emergency transportation services to the elderly, individuals with disabilities as well as low-income residents of Harris County who are unable to access traditional METRO services. Harris County, Texas is the third most-populous county in the United States, and the RIDES program provides services in more than 1,500 vehicles.

Under the provisions of the contract, MJM Innovations will develop and provide the Harris County RIDES program with the infrastructure and data capture technology that will enable the RIDES program vehicles to accept electronic payments using a magnetic swipe card. By introducing the swipe cards, Harris County will be able to eliminate the paper vouchers it currently uses.

The new systemill automatically collect and store valuable trip data that will include the date, time, distance traveled and fare information for each trip. With its new streamlined data collection process, Harris County will have increased ability to analyze the RIDES program's performance. The RIDES program anticipates complete implementation of the new technology in September 2011.

MJM Innovations will be utilizing its proprietary EZTransport® solution. EZTransport is a Web-based software and processing application that uses swipe or smart cards to enable automated fare collection and captures fare and trip data. The technology was developed by MJM in 2002, and is currently utilized by public and private transportation programs throughout the country. The Harris County RIDES program is MJM's second implementation of the EZTransport solution in the state of Texas. In 2006, the company implemented an EZTransport solution for Austin, Texas, the Capital Area Rural Transportation System (CARTS), and has been actively involved in supporting and maintaining that program since its inception.

"RIDES provides a valuable service to the residents of Harris County who are unable to access regular public transportation, and we are honored to be able to help implement the new EZTransport solution with the RIDES program for the benefit of the county and its participants," said Michael Stappler, Vice President and CFO, MJM Innovations.

Maryland Transit Administration Selects MJM Innovations to Manage Taxi Access II Program

Premium Taxi Service Provides Increased Independence for Individuals with Disabilities

Baltimore, MD -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/07/2011 -- MJM Innovations, a firm specializing in electronic transaction software solutions for the transportation industry and management services, announced today that it has renewed its contract with the Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) to continue administering the Taxi Access II program. MJM Innovations oversaw the development and implementation of the Taxi Access II premium service model that provides on-demand taxi service for individuals with disabilities and has continued to manage and support all aspects pertaining to the program since its inception in 2004.

Taxi Access II is available to MTA-certified Mobility customers who meet the eligibility requirements. Patrons in the program can take up to two $20.00 taxi rides per day within the MTA-approved service area. Customers pay $3.00 for each ride and there are currently 10 cab/sedan companies participating in the program.

MJM Innovations provides the infrastructure and systems behind Taxi Access II, which utilizes the firm's EZTransport® solution, a proprietary, Web-based software and processing application that uses magnetic swipe cards to enable automated fare collection and capture fare and trip data. MJM Innovations currently issues all of the Taxi Access II cards to eligible riders, provides the MTA with the GPS and fare collection data for every ride facilitated by the program, and works with the participating taxi and sedan companies to ensure each vehicle has the necessary equipment to process Taxi Access II cards.

"Taxi Access II offers greater opportunities for independence and flexibility for individuals with disabilities," said Sheila Goldberg, executive director, MJM Innovations. "For traditional para-transit transportation, a rider must schedule their ride no later than the day before, and usually has to share a vehicle with other riders. With Taxi Access II, riders call a taxi company directly with as little as 40 minutes notice and then travel directly to their destinations. Taxi Access II's real time, on-demand service offers spontaneity and freedom of choice that enables individuals to lead more active lives. Our company is honored to be able to continue working with the MTA to provide this valuable service."
