The 3.5-liter V6 was put into one out of every four F-150 trucks sold during March. The EcoBoost engine has 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque. It provides best-in-class towing capabilities of 11,300 lbs and up to 20% fuel economy savings. The 2011 F-150 EcoBoost gets 16 mpg in the city and 22 mpg on the highway. The EcoBoost continues to be in high demand, and Ford has plans to continue adding the EcoBoost engine to their line of vehicles.

Later in the year, a new North American four-cylinder EcoBoost engine will be added to the Explorer SUV and the Edge CUV. The engine will be a 2-liter with 237 horsepower. Next year, Ford will be adding the 2.0-liter to the high-performance Focus ST. Ford plans to continue producing EcoBoost engines and will continue to add them to a variety of vehicles, from trucks to small cars. By 2013 Ford intends to make up to 1.5 million EcoBoost engines globally.
