Atoll Explorer Adds More Uninhabited Islands

Maldives -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/02/2012 -- Atoll Explorer (http://www.atollexplorer.com/) has adjusted its itineraries to add more uninhabited Island and sand cay experiences due to the requests of its regular guests.

On Itinerary 1, Koajaadi Finolhu has been added which is an uninhabited and isolated sand cay in North Male Atoll. On the sand cay, which changes in dimensions, there is a beautiful lagoon for swimming and a vibrant reef for our snorkelers. For the divers, there are numerous amazing dive sites within reach including a manta ray cleaning station in the summer season. We will provide tents and umbrellas for shade and offer beverage service throughout the day. At sunset, if weather is supportive, we will have cocktails on the sand cay.

For divers, there is three new dive sites to explore being Manta Point, Rasfari Beyru & Boduhithi Thila. Manta Point is the best location for Manta Ray sightings in North Male Atoll in the time of the North East Monsoon (Dec - Apr). At this location thousands of cleaner fishes attract the attention of the Manta Rays. During this period, there are cleaning stations for the Mantas located on the reef top in a depth between 3 to 6 metres. Expect to also see batfishes, napoleons and turtles. Rasfari Beyru is a long outside reef covered with pretty hard corals and some soft white sandy bays where white tip reef sharks come to have a little rest lying in the sand. Sometimes you can even spot grey reef sharks and groups of eagle rays passing by. Boduhithi Thila allows a 10 - 30 metre dive and strong currents can be present which sometimes makes it a challenging dive. This is a big reef with a lot of overhangs and beautiful corals. White tip reef sharks, sting rays, old dog toothed tunas and big groups of fusiliers are also common here. During the period of December to April, the main attraction is manta rays catching plankton. The chance of sighting these marvelous huge creatures are high.

Atoll Explorer (http://www.atollexplorer.com/) is one of the best value cruise experiences in the Maldives offering all inclusive packages including all meals, selected beverages, local island trips, deserted island excursions, beach dinners, entertainment, snorkeling and many more. This is why Atoll Explorer experiences a return guest rate of 60% with many being multiple repeaters.

Atoll Explorer Revitalizes Its Food and Beverage Offerings

Republic of Maldives -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/03/2011 -- Atoll Explorer (http://www.atollexplorer.com/) has completed a full review of its food and beverage offerings. This included a kitchen, Restaurant and Bar refurbishment to allow for a far superior product.

The Restaurant refurbishment program included new furniture, a new buffet layout, an underwater seascape mural, a new Bose sound system, Nespresso machine and a new restaurant bar area. The Restaurant now sits on an open concept, which offers panoramic vistas and different spectacular views of the Maldives on a daily basis. The menu has a balance of Asian inspired dishes and classic favorites to appeal to a range of palates. The day time picnic and beach barbeque under the stars are two very unique dining experiences not to be missed. The beach dinner includes a Maldivian fish barbeque along with all the trimmings, ending the night with dancing and star gazing.

The Bar refurbishment was about providing more space in a more contemporary setting using the signature colours of blue, white and polish woods. The setup now gives you more of a cocktail lounge feel to it, but with a casual ambience. The cocktail list is themed around the warm sunny days of the Maldives, with a variety of classic and themed Bellinis, grown onboard mint Mojitos, house infused martinis and a array of long drinks and classic cocktails. The wine list offers a range of white, red and sparkling wines with a focus on refreshing and light wines to suite the climate.

On itinerary 1(http://www.atollexplorer.com/itinerary-01.html), a new feature day has been added where Atoll Explorer anchors at Koajaadi Finolhu. For the divers, there are numerous amazing dive sites within reach including a manta ray cleaning station in the summer season. We will provide tents and umbrellas for shade and offer beverage services throughout the day. At sunset, we will have barefoot welcome cocktails with all guests and the crew on the sand cay and witness an unforgettable sunset with your feet in the sand.
