Gibson-Barnes Now Providing Pilots With Angels

Angel Personal Flight Assistant Adds Bluetooth Connectivity With Phone & Music Integration Into Flight Helmets and Headsets

El Cajon, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/25/2011 -- Religious pilots have been relying on angels since the beginning of flight. Now Gibson-Barnes is offering the "Angel" Personal Flight Assistant to all pilots - even the agnostic ones.

Angel is a Bluetooth© enabled, cell phone and music interface for aviation headsets and helmets. The Angel has a multitude of input and output jacks, stopwatches, fuel and approach timers, as well as an integrated E6B flight computer.

Previously, pilots' headsets or helmets were strictly for communicating with control towers. There was no music or phone integration. Any time a pilot needed to make a phone call it meant taking off the helmet or headset, and trying to hear over the noise of the airplane or helicopter. To use the Angel, the pilot plugs the device into a headset or helmet, then connects the Angel to the aircraft. It also works seamlessly with Gibson-Barnes' Active Noise Reduction System (ANR), powering it with a built in Lithium battery.

"I fly in a Cessna 172 with it and love it," says Gibson-Barnes' Frank Andrijeski, "I don't have to reach for my phone to call someone anymore, and I can listen to my favorite music during the flight. It makes those long cross country trips go faster."

"We selected the Angel to offer to our customers because it follows our tradition of being the best product for its purpose," says Dan Longbrake, Director of Sales for Gibson-Barnes. "Unlike its competitors, the Angel has its own readable LCD screen for accessing its menu system. That means you can operate your phone, music - even talk to other passengers, without taking off your helmet."

Don't worry, you won't miss a call from the Air Traffic Control because you're rocking out to AC/DC too loud...the system automatically lowers the volume of anything else you are listening too, and gives priority to the Air Traffic Control calls. Cell phone call and text alerts are also heard through the Angel.

The Angel is available in three case colors - blue, green, or black. There is a military impedance version as well as a civilian impedance version. Either version sells for $449 and can be found at Gibson-Barnes.com.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Dan Longbrake
Director of Sales & Marketing
Gibson-Barnes
Telephone: 800-440-5904
Email: Click to Email Dan Longbrake
Web: http://www.Gibson-Barnes.com

Gibson & Barnes' New Personal Cooling System Puts Proven Military Technology Into NASCAR's Race Cars

NASCAR drivers are starting to take notice of a new Personal Cooling System that have proven themselves on the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan.

El Cajon, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/24/2011 -- With in-car temperatures reaching up to 140 degrees fahrenheit, NASCAR drivers are starting to take notice of a new Personal Cooling System that have proven themselves on the battlefields in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Gibson & Barnes has been designing and producing cutting edge technology clothing and equipment for the military for the last 8 years, through the ARMY's Air Warrior program and NAVY's NATICK. They first developed and patented a quick connect/disconnect water hose connector called the "FloLock," which enables multiple channels of water to flow into a cooling vest without dripping, spilling or interfering with the water pressure. That technology was the platform used to create a high capacity vest, capable of carrying 8 channels of water, which is being tested for NASCAR use.

While the cooling concept - running cool water through hoses sewn into undergarments - is not new, Gibson & Barnes' unique approach is. "Before we go into a market, we make sure that we can bring substantial improvements in design, quality and manufacturing to the market" says, Gibson & Barnes' Director of Sales & Marketing, Dan Longbrake. "We were able to do that exclusively for the military, and now have repurposed and adapted our advancements for the racing industry."

Initial testing results from Jeff Burton's race team, Childress Racing has been very favorable. "The team has been really great to work with," says Longbrake, "They've given us some outstanding feedback which we, in turn, are incorporating into the cooling system...you can't ask for a better R&D department!"

Once body core temperature rises, physical and mental functions can become impaired and potential risk from heart related injuries increases. Gibson & Barnes' Personal Cooling Systems can improve endurance by up to 400%.

"Our years of experience in designing clothing for the military while in combat has really elevated our research and development as well as quality control," says Gibson & Barnes President and CEO, Tyler Wegge. "With the military, our equipment has to be the best...it can't breakdown, or someone's life could be at stake. We bring the same devotion to quality and craftsmanship to the world of racing."

Gibson & Barnes has been a premiere supplier of flight suits, uniforms, leather jackets, flight helmets and communications equipment for EMS, law enforcement and pilots for over 30 years.
Gibson-Barnes Keeps First Responders Cooler & Safer With New "Defiant Plus Fire Retardant" Fabric

Today, Gibson-Barnes announces the release of uniforms and jackets featuring their revolutionary new Defiant Plus Fire Retardant fabrics.

El Cajon, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/14/2011 -- First Responders (the people who run into a burning building as you're running out) have the job of keeping us safe... but, what keeps them safe? It's usually EMT uniform manufacturer Gibson-Barnes, that has spent over 30 years studying and improving safety equipment and uniforms for those responders "on the front lines." Today, Gibson-Barnes announces the release of uniforms and jackets featuring their revolutionary new Defiant Plus Fire Retardant fabrics.

For years, Nomex® has been the "go-to" fabric of choice for fire retardancy. But Gibson-Barnes' new uniforms, made with Defiant Plus, are eclipsing Nomex features.

"The Nomex technology was great, but it's basically been around since the 1960's," says Gibson-Barnes' Director of Sales & Marketing, Dan Longbrake. "Our Defiant Plus Fabric is inherently fire retardant- meaning there is no chemical treatment that can eventually wash away. In addition, it's naturally wicking, so it's much cooler and more comfortable than Nomex, which is only water resistant."

The most important feature in first responder's uniform is fire protection. In tests, Defiant Plus fabric had only a 23% body burn rate, compared to 34% for comparable weight Nomex--an improvement that will save lives and reduce injury. Defiant Plus is also softer on the skin and outperforms Nomex in shrinking and charring in burn tests.

"Our goal has always been customer safety," Says Tyler Wegge, Gibson-Barnes President and CEO. "We have been providing innovative products to Pilots, EMTs, Law Enforcement and the Military for over 30 years. If we can't make the best possible product in a category, we don't do it. We understand people rely on first responders to help them and keep them safe...we do the same for the first responders."
