Three employees of Laboratory Testing Inc. have been appointed to supervisory positions in the areas of field calibration services, testing and calibration quality assurance, and IT. (LTI) has expanded its capabilities with the purchase of a state-of-the-art hardness testing system, a Struers DuraScan. The PC operated system covers both microhardness and macrohardness test applications. The new equipment has significantly expanded the company's test load range for Vickers and Knoop with capabilities from 10 gf – 10 kgf:

• Vickers: 10 gram – 20 kilogram
• Knoop: 10 gram – 2 kilogram

NDT MIL-STD-2132 Examiner approval has been granted to the Ultrasonic Testing Supervisor at Laboratory Testing Inc. for both immersion and contact ultrasonic testing methods.

Walmsley completed written and operational exams on general theory, specifications and standards and ultrasonic testing methods and equipment. The examinations were administered by the Naval Sea Systems Command in Pittsburgh, PA.

Steve Walmsley is an 18-year employee of the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) Department at Laboratory Testing Inc. and an NDT Level II in Ultrasonic Testing.
