Praslin, Seychelles -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/30/2011 -- The spa at Raffles Praslin Seychelles is the first signature Raffles Spa. Every new Raffles hotel will have a Raffles Spa and the concept is being woven into existing spas within the group.

The guiding philosophy is Transformation - embodied in the lotus flower, the symbol of transformation, which represents long life, health, honour and good luck.

Treatments are divided by Bud (body), Blossom (beauty) and Bloom (full experiences) to represent the stages of the lotus.

To create a sense of place, a local expression of the Raffles spa philosophy of transformation will be at the core of each spa, wherever it is in the world. At Raffles Praslin Seychelles, the first Raffles Spa, this is the pearl. Black pearls come from the island of Praslin – and pearls have been used as a beautifying ingredient for years. The pearl start as a grain of sand, then flourishes in unpolluted waters.
