Pledge to Switch to Electronic Cigarettes for the New Year

Thousands of smokers are making a pledge to quit smoking by the end of the year and start using electronic cigarettes by January 1, 2012.

Phoenix, AZ -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/09/2011 -- Good reports from friends and co-workers and a desire to make changes towards better health make this the perfect time for a healthy and practical New Year's resolution. It's a great idea and the time is right. Electronic cigarettes can be the ideal start to a healthy New Year because they are truly a smoke-free alternative to harmful tobacco smoke.

One of the secrets to success of any New Year's resolution is choosing a goal that is truly attainable. Making it fun can make it happen, and there's no better way to quit smoking than picking up one of the best electronic cigarette starter kits and trying it out now. It's possible to be 100% smoke-free by the end of the year! Getting on the bandwagon and making a pledge to stop smoking is one of the New Year's resolutions possible, and getting started with a quality electronic cigarette is the way to make it happen.

Health Benefits In The New Year

Electronic cigarettes do not involve any combustion, so they don't involve any smoke. What appears to be smoke when an e cigarette user exhales is actually harmless water vapor. This is the key that unlocks the pleasure and the benefits of e cigarette use over tobacco use. Flavored e cigarette cartridges contain nicotine and flavor, so there's plenty of opportunity to choose higher or lower concentrations of nicotine mixed with the perfect flavor, too. Most importantly, there's no toxic smoke to fill the lungs or fill the room with tars and carcinogens. Those days are over for smokers who make a switch to electronic cigarettes as a New Year's resolution. Eliminating harmful tobacco smoke and choosing to reduce nicotine consumption puts any smoker on the road to keeping a resolution and improving personal health.

Cost Savings In The New Year

There's truly good news about saving money in the New Year that comes right along with the resolution to switch to electronic cigarettes. Depending on what model of e cigarette selected, cartridges can be refilled and reused many times. The liquid nicotine and e cigarette refill flavoring combinations are nearly endless, making it a constant source of entertainment and enjoyment, and of course a significant cost savings over commercially prepared cartridges. Former smokers report a significant cost savings over the money they used to spend on tobacco cigarettes. New electronic cigarette users will more than likely decide to try disposable models, and those will not produce a big cost savings, but when they graduate to refillable e cigarettes that will change. Basically, if a user just dabbles in occasional use of e cigarettes, and frequently purchases new models to give them a try, there won't be significant cost savings. But a serious smoker who becomes a serious electric cigarette user and refills cartridges at home will certainly report cost savings. Has there ever been a better time in history to make the switch to electronic cigarettes for a New Year's resolution?

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Simon Wright
Telephone: 602-241-4423
Email: Click to Email Simon Wright
Web: http://electroniccigarette-starterkit.com/

The FDA Rules to Regulate the E Cigarette

E Cigarettes Are Now Subject to the Same Regulations as Tobacco

Phoenix, AZ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 11/30/2011 -- Electronic cigarettes, supposedly a safe substitute for tobacco, will be regulated as tobacco products, but not as medicinal aids. What does this mean for the consumer of electronic vaporizing devices? In short, they are not considered to be drugs or related devices. However, when advertised as a therapeutic smoking cessation aid, the e cigarette can be subjected to these stricter rules.

The electronic cigarette is a fairly new item, developed by a pharmacist in China in early 2000. Consumers looking for tobacco alternatives picked up on the trend and the electronic devices were selling strong before the patents were even applied for. It consists of a plastic or metal unit resembling popular tobacco brands. Decorative non-disposable units are made for those who want a classier accessory. To get the smoke, a liquid compound is vaporized through heat or ultrasonics, creating a mist with the same flavor as tobacco smoke. Some e-cigarettes offer other flavors as well. The power source is usually a lithium ion battery which can be charged in the car, in a product specific charging case or even from a usb port.

The pharmacist who developed the product intended it to be a method to quit smoking. While this device is probably safer than cigarettes, there are still health concerns. First is the potential appeal of a safer smoking device to younger generations, particularly if they are flavored.

Second is the concern of exposing people to harmful compounds and increasing dependence on nicotine. Electronic vaporizers contain carcinogenic chemicals found in anti-freeze. Chemicals such as diethylene glycol are vaporized and inhaled, while nicotine and other toxics are added to the cartridge to satisfy the long term smoker. The addictive compound will hook new users believing they are using a safe' product. Unlike real cigarettes, e-cigs have no warning labels for potential consumers.

Controversy surrounds these new smoking devices because of the threat to younger generations. As with big Big Tobacco, marketing is aimed at young people, and without testing and regulation, there is no way to know how big the health risks are. The FDA has voted to regulate this new industry to establish quality controls; but also to uncover the chemical composition of the devices. The results of future regulations and testing should result in a safer product, or at the least, clear warnings about any existing dangers from e cigarette smoke inhalation. The FDA will also continue to monitor claims by manufacturers that the product is a viable smoking cessation therapy. For the time being, electric cigarette companies are happy to see their products are not considered drugs or medicine, and not subject to the laws governing them.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

James Huntington
Telephone: 602-241-4423
Email: Click to Email James Huntington
Web: http://electroniccigarette-starterkit.com/
