Student Social Worker to Take the Plunge for Esher Hospice

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- A total of 17 people are heading to Maidstone in Kent on April 1 for a tandem skydive to raise money for Princess Alice Hospice. Among them will be 22-year-old Grace Johnson who is currently in the third year of her BA Social Work degree at Kingston University. She has been working at Princess Alice Hospice as part of her studies and will finish her placement on April 19. "I have always wanted to do a sky dive and investigate previous charity jumps, however, I never had the connection to the charity to spur me on. That all changed once I started at Princess Alice Hospice."

Managing Director of DCM Marketing Services, a sales and marketing company which is based in Maidstone, said "A group of 17 very courageous people. I admire them for their dedication and generosity to the Princess Alice Hospice."

Ms Johnson has entered into a variety of fundraising activities for the hospice, including a bucket collection at the Sainsbury's store in Surbiton and selling handmade flower headbands. Already, her skydive has already raised £460 – £65 more than her target of £395. A source from DCM Marketing Services commented saying "Grace is only 1 of 17 and she alone has already raised £460, that's incredible to say the least."

Princess Alice Hospice provides specialist end of life and palliative care, support and advice for adult patients and their families both at the hospice and in their homes. Its catchment area includes Surrey, South West London and Middlesex, serving a population in excess of 1 million. More than £7 million is needed each year for the hospice to provide its services.

"Before coming to Princess Alice Hospice I had no awareness or experience of a hospice or end of life care, I had a preconceived idea it would be scary. However, that is most definitely not the case." said Ms Johnson.

Managing Director of DCM Marketing Services said, "This group of 17 are doing a great thing for this Charity. Raising as much money as they are it will definitely be appreciated not only by the Charity, but by the patients of those who receive care, and their families. Raising the money is of course amazing, but I hope they have a blast while sky-diving too."

DCM Marketing Services on Tablet Computers for Patients

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- Patients in intensive care and high-dependency units are soon to benefit from new equipment to help them achieve greater comfort during their stay, and speed their recovery from illness. The Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust has been given $8,000 to buy items for Maidstone Hospital, including hand weights, a mobile reclining chair, wall clocks, and tablet computers. "People on extended stays in hospital can often feel very isolated from the outside world," said a source from DCM Marketing Services, "This equipment will really help the patients to pass the time easier."

Patients on high-dependency wards, will often experience feelings of anxiety and isolation, said medical staff. This innovative move is an attempt to enhance their physical and psychological wellbeing while they are being treated, by allowing them to talk with their families and staff, enjoy some gentle exercise, and even go outside when the weather is good. Our DCM Marketing Services source said, "It's a fantastic idea. I can't imagine the comfort it will provide to people, at a time when that's so important."

Staff on the wards made the bid to get the money as part of NHS South of England's Innovation Adoption Challenge. The team's bid for funding was facilitated by Tim Collins and Bec Seaman, who are ICU educators. "Naturally, we have a great deal of sophisticated equipment here with which to treat our patients," said Mr. Collins, "but this money is for simpler, more fundamental things which will also aid recovery."

Mr. Collins went on to say, "The unit frequently cares for patients who are awake and alert but have a tracheotomy in situ to support their breathing leaving them unable to talk. This often becomes frustrating for both staff and patients. It is hoped the tablet computers will allow patients to communicate more easily with friends and family."

"Weights will help people exercise, keep their muscles in good shape and prevent them from wasting," Mr. Collins added, "which can happen after only a few days of non use. The tablet computers will enable patients to communicate with staff and relatives, helping them to express themselves more easily by giving them a voice. The wheeled chair and additional stands mean we can take a patient outside, complete with attachments and portable ventilators."

Our DCM Marketing Services contact added, "It's really great that funds like this are out there to provide opportunities to improve ICU care."

"We were up against a tight deadline to ensure our application was submitted on time," said Mr. Collins, "and I would like to pay tribute to the whole team for their passion and support in achieving this award as it is going to make a real difference for our patients."

Samsung Invests a Record $42bn Into Expansion Plan for the Current Year, DCM Marketing Services Investigates Where This Money Will be Spent

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- Most companies are doing whatever it takes to increase their market share. Samsung has taken the cake with the massive investment they will inject into their brand. DCM Marketing Services knows that there is many ways to increase a company's market share within an industry. The Managing Director of DCM Marketing Services adds, 'money, time and effort are the 3 pillars to building and maintaining your positioning within your industry and that's exactly what we do.' Samsung Electronics has been trying to introduce new technology in a bid to increase market share.South Korea's Samsung Group has said it will invest a record 47.8tn won ($41.7bn; £27bn) this year to expand its various businesses. It will spend 31tn won to upgrade its factories and equipment and 13.6tn won towards research and development.

The BBC report that the announcement comes as global economic uncertainty has seen rival firms cut back their growth plans.Samsung is the world's biggest maker of TVs and memory chips and is South Korea's largest company. The firm has also been steadily increasing its share of the mobile phone market. The company also said it will hire 26,000 new employees this year.'This kind of announcement seems to the very opposite of what many companies are projecting for this year. With so many unemployed people around the year 26,000 jobs on the market is in desperate need,' continues the MD of DCM Marketing Services.

Samsung is South Korea's largest business conglomerate with 80 affiliate companies ranging from electronics to finance.Though the company did not provide a breakdown of how much money will be invested where, analysts said that the majority of investment was likely to go the company's electronics and memory-chip business. It is a wise idea to invest money where there is most likely going to be a return on investment.

Analysts said the company was keen to use its strong financial position to further strengthen its hold on the market."Samsung's got strong cash flow to make bold bets in new technologies," said Lee Sun-tae of NH Investment & Securities.Rival South Korean competitor, LG Group, announced earlier this month that it is reducing its spending by 15% in 2012. This is the perfect time for Samsung to cement their lead in the market when others are cutting back.

DCM Marketing Services is a fast growing sales and marketing company in Maidstone. The company is looking to increase their market share within the direct sales and marketing industry. 'our industry is incredibly competitive, what puts us in good stead is the relationship we have with our clients and the services we provide them, continues the MD of DMC Marketing Services.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

DCM Marketing Services Limited
Email: Click to Email DCM Marketing Services Limited
Web: http://www.dcmmarketingservices.co.uk

Unemployment Is World's Fastest-Rising Fear, DCM Marketing Services Discuss

Unemployment Is World's Fastest-Rising Fear, DCM Marketing Services Discuss.

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- Unemployment is the world's fastest-rising worry, a BBC World Service survey covering 11,000 people in 23 countries suggests. DCM Marketing Services is not surprised by the latest worldwide survey that has just been conducted with the Managing Director saying, 'the issue is that people wake up, go to sleep and go to work worried about the world around them. Not being able to live the life they have always dreamed about is not so much of a concern now, now it's all about living one day to the next and surviving.' The annual poll, called The World Speaks, gave people a list of concerns and asked which they had discussed with friends or family in the past month.

Corruption and poverty still ranked the highest, but unemployment was mentioned by 18% - six times the rate citing it in the first survey in 2009.The poll was carried out by Globescan. The growth in concern was found across all countries surveyed, although corruption emerged as the most talked about global concern.Nearly a quarter of those asked had discussed that topic in some form over the past four weeks. DCM Marketing Services which is based in Maidstone is very aware of the state of unemployment in their local community with the MD saying, 'unemployment is always a topic of conversation with friends and family as so many people have experienced first hand. That feeling of not being in control and not knowing where your next pay check is coming from can cause massive anxiety. This is why so many people like myself have become business owners, as I always say – I will never fire or make myself redundant.'

Concern about joblessness seemed to vary by country.Top of the list was Spain, where 54% of those sampled said they had discussed unemployment recently, an increase of one-third on the previous year's BBC poll.Spain is at the heart of the debt crisis in the eurozone and has the highest youth unemployment in the region at greater than 40%.One could speculate that growing concern about the lack of jobs is linked to current economic worries, such as financial problems for euro currency and the resulting slowdown of major economies.

The latest results show considerable differences between countries in the issues people find important. In the US, France and Japan - all wealthy, developed nations - the state of the world economy emerged as the main talking point.By contrast, corruption was the most frequently discussed issue in Nigeria, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Nigeria and Peru.

These are all developing nations, most with poor reputations for transparency in government and business. In another group of developing countries, including China, Russia, Kenya and the Philippines, rising prices for food and energy were the main topic. In Latin America, however, crime and violence emerged as commonly discussed themes.Indeed in Brazil, famous for social tensions in its urban slums, along with Ecuador and Mexico, noted for drugs-related killings, crime and violence were the most talked-about subjects. Every country seems to have different concerns based on their issues as a nation. What is happening on a daily basis is what affects their decisions and what they discuss. Every issue is put into perspective based on their surroundings. If crime is not an issue in your part of the world is lacks importance in your world and not discussed.

The Managing Director of DCM Marketing Services agrees with the above statements saying, 'everyone's existence is based on a series of events and experience. If one has not had the misfortune of being mugged then it's something that does not cross their mind and they do not worry about it. The same goes for being made redundant to having your heart broken. If you have never had anything like that happen to you it's not on your radar.' DCM Marketing services is a specialised sales and marketing company and prides themselves on innovative ideas and developing into market leaders in their industry. 'People's fears and doubts is the greatest thief of opportunity, people need to maintain a hopeful mind-set to what they are fearful of,' continues the MD of DCM Marketing Services.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

DCM Marketing Services Limited
Email: Click to Email DCM Marketing Services Limited
Web: http://www.dcmmarketingservices.co.uk

Wind Turbine Subsidies Are Vital According to DCM Marketing Services

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- This week, over 100 Conservative MPs have questioned the amount of money being spent on wind energy, considering the current financial situation. The MPs urged the prime minister to cut subsidies for wind turbines, and also to change planning rules, to make objecting to their construction easier. Damian Croft, Managing Director of eco-friendly sales and marketing company DCM Marketing Services commented: "The facts speak for themselves when it comes to renewable energy. The benefits have been proven time and time again."

The government is aiming for 15% of the UK's energy supply to be provided by renewable sources, including wind, by 2015, and said that although renewable energy is "currently more costly" than using fossil fuels, wind farms are a "cost-effective and valuable part of the UK's diverse energy mix."

The MPs expressed their concerns in a letter, written to the prime minister, in which they stated, "In these financially straitened times, we think it is unwise to make consumers pay, through taxpayer subsidy, for inefficient and intermittent energy production that typifies onshore wind turbines."

Labour shadow energy and climate change secretary Caroline Flint hit back saying: "Britain should be a world leader in wind energy. We need to put jobs, growth and reducing energy bills first." She added, "If Tory MPs want to turn the clock back on renewable energy, it will be the public who pay the price through higher energy bills, as we become more reliant on volatile fossil fuel prices." Damian Croft from DCM Marketing Services supported this position, adding, "Fossil fuel prices are only going to increase, at a rapid rate. We can ignore the problem now, in favour of a little cost, but it will cost us a lot more in the long run."

DCM Marketing Services are an innovative, eco-friendly sales and marketing company from Maidstone, who are involved in a wide range of local environmental work. Their Managing Director commented further saying, "It's important to stop and look at the bigger picture, when dealing with environmental issues, and not act based on knee-jerk reactions. We are building an infrastructure not just for now, but also for the distant future."

DCM Marketing Services Reports on London 2012: Martin Brockman's Olympic Dream Financed by Inheritance

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/02/2012 -- DCM Marketing Services is a successful sales and marketing company based in Maidstone and excited about the upcoming Olympics this year. The story of Kent decathlete Martin Brockman has revealed that he has spent a family inheritance to fund his Olympic dream. Brockman has swapped Maidstone for Melbourne in order to train full-time throughout the winter."I've got the money my granddad left me when he died last year.

I've spent that on the flight and it paid for me to stay here. The managing director of DCM Marketing Services is impressed with his efforts to fulfill his dreams saying, 'if only more people did everything in their power to achieve their dreams – his quest is admirable.'

The money enables him to concentrate on his training schedule, rather than having to balance it with work and coaching commitments. He said: "I don't have to work while I'm here. I train, I eat, I sleep and that's it.I'm getting the quality training I need as well as the quality rest I need. You can't work hard without that rest." DCM Marketing Services can relate to Brockman in his quest for success, 'here at DCM Marketing Services we have gone from strength to strength in the past few years to achieve our company goals,' continues the managing director.

With less than nine months to go before the Olympic Games, Brockman has decided to train and compete outside down under, rather than take the indoor route in the UK. This will serve to his advantage, the Commonwealth bronze medalist said it made a "huge difference", adding: "If I were in England right now, either I'd have to travel an hour and a half to go and use the indoor facilities or I just wouldn't be able to sprint or long jump. It's just too cold. The risk of pulling a muscle in that temperature is too high. Out here I can do everything I want.

Last year, we had three months of bad weather. You can't do exactly what you want to do. You have to compromise a little bit." A Source from DCM Marketing Services agrees with Brockman saying, 'in any competitive situation whether it be in sport or in business, knowing your environment, what you are capable in that situation and how to better it is key to success.'

Brockman is scheduled to compete twice while in Australia before returning to Kent in March. It would appear that he has invested his grandfather's money wisely, with unlimited access to the facilities and equipment enabling the 24-year-old to break personal bests in training.Brockman set a personal best of 7712 points in finishing third at the Commonwealth Games in India. To achieve the Olympic 'A' standard, and virtually guarantee his selection for London, he must improve that to 8200 points.

DCM Marketing Services will definitely keep track of his career in the upcoming months.

Martin Brockman is one of BBC Radio Kent's three featured athletes as part of 'Olympic Dreams' in the build-up to London 2012.

Artificial Football Pitches Making a Comeback....DCM Marketing Investigates

Maidstone, Kent -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/30/2012 -- DCM Marketing Services were intrigued to read on the BBC website that artificial football pitches could be making a comeback to not only UK football stadiums but also stadiums all over the world.

Artificial football pitches were originally banned by the football association in the late 1980's, due to injury complaints and complaints about the quality of football played on these pitches.

Artificial pitches are very hard on the body, Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee slammed artificial pitches in 2010 saying "They are great surfaces for training purposes, in the sense of passing the ball between each other, but in dynamic movement it's a dangerous surface." After one of his players was injured playing on an artificial pitch.

As it stands Wycombe and Accrington are 2 of the UK clubs looking to bring them back. The managing director of DCM Marketing Services said 'Improvements in technology mean that the quality of pitches has improved vastly, however the effects on the athlete's body would need to be researched further before we see a widespread return of these pitches.'

Teams in Italy, Switzerland and Russia are already playing on artificial pitches and there are several teams playing on these pitches in Scotland also. There is talk in the footballing world that the overall match experience would be spoilt and spectators would feel like they were watching a five aside rather than a premier league match.

It seems that one of the main motivating factors behind this comeback at least in the UK is the revenue to be earned by installing these pitches, through renting out when the club has no use for it. Clubs would also be saving money on maintenance costs as turf requires a rigid upkeep routine.

DCM Marketing Services think the talk of increased revenue and cutting costs proves that even the world of football is feeling the pinch during this global recession where players are paid astronomical prices every week for playing the sport.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

DCM Marketing Services
Email: Click to Email DCM Marketing Services
Web: http://www.dcmmarketingservices.co.uk
