Unlike previous years students were interested in securing a place at the earliest and this led to several students making applications and confirming admissions as part of the early admissions scheme.

WINC has pioneered a Student Ambassador programme which rewards existing students at WINC for disseminating information on various programmes and promoting interest towards several of WINC's programmes.

The Student Ambassador programme will see students providing positive referrals would be rewarded with both scholarships & other rewards in terms of the latest electronic gadgets/ PDA's.

The Dean of Academic Affairs & Development, Dr. Tony Aucterlounie, said: "while we have limited places on each of our degree programmes preliminary interest seem to indicate that we may have to open further places/ divisions on our engineering programmes to accommodate the needs of the prospective students. We have encouraged students to avail of our Early Admissions scheme and ensure that they secure a place at the earliest in order to avoid disappointment'

The Director of Administration at WINC, Raj Nambiar said 'we expect to see an increase in admissions by 100 % through the forthcoming academic year 2012-13 as we have seen an increase in the number of inquiries for our MBA, Engineering & Edexcel programmes in Engineering , Business & Computing.
University of Bolton Ras Al Khaimah Offers Students an All Round Experience

Dubai, Abu Dhabi -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/09/2012 -- "The University of Bolton has provided me the experience that is going to be there with me throughout my life. This has been a platform to provide me with opportunities to outshine myself with the courses tailored according to the demand of the professionalism in the world today. I chose to pursue the Electronic and Computer Engineering. The course offered me to learn the concepts of the Electronics exploring the advancement in the field while running parallel to the Computer technology we are dealing today.

All though the University of Bolton is a sister campus here in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE, but still I won't hesitate to say that the studies over here have been synchronized in such a pattern that one won't feel to be an outcast of what is going on back in UK. The presence of the University in UAE has been well planned and optimised seeing the inputs the Governments of UAE has been putting to make the country an educational hub of the world.

The University has been gradually extending its strong hold in the region. Starting from a one floor campus, it has got a fully functional campus in conjunction with the American University of Ras Al Khaimah; and I hope to see the University of Bolton's own campus which is also under its way in the city of Al Jazeerah Al Hamra.

Running with a cohort of around 20 lecturers, the university provides the student with a feeling of being specially overlooked with small class sizes ranging from 10 to 15 students at the most. Studies may not have been so much of fun without the state of the art Technological labs at the campus. While the studies surround the students with curricular work, the student union present at the campus, works for providing the leisure and extra-curricular activities.

The support and care offered by the industrially trained and professionalized lecturers at the University is extraordinary. Throughout my studies, the help that has been inclined towards me by my lecturers have been more of making the most out of me rather than just feeding me with the information that I need to know for task completion. They have been highly pursuable in getting me known to myself that I can overcome any hurdle in studies and my life.

My course lasted for 3 years, in which I leapt forward to learn the theoretical as well as the practical aspects of engineering. At the end of my course, the University has been truly helping in looking out for placements and tying knots with the companies so as to provide me an exposure to the professional world and to help me get to know the job prospects in the market.

The students who participated in the Study Visit to England were honoured at a glittering ceremony in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Ruler's Office of Ras Al Khaimah who was the Chief Guest at the function.

Dubai, Abu Dhabi -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/27/2012 -- A special presentation ceremony was organised to felicitate students from the University of Bolton, RAK Campus who went on a Study Visit to England which included where the group was given intensive academic sessions, workshops, lectures, industrial visits and also time to see sights of England including the capital London.

The students who participated in the Study Visit to England were honoured at a glittering ceremony in the presence of Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Director of the Ruler's Office of Ras Al Khaimah who was the Chief Guest at the function.

The presentation ceremony followed by an elaborate Barbecue dinner which saw the students share their England experience with both family and fellow students at the University of Bolton, RAK Campus. Many of the students who were part of the first visit want to go back again and be part of the next instalment of the Study Visit to England, perhaps as mentors for the newer students for whom it would be a veritable 'first'

Says Farhan Khalid a Mechanical Engineering student 'the Study Visit to England is definitely a great experience wherein I had the opportunity of a lifetime to interact with both students & staff at the home campus as well as get a feel of the English landscape'

As a result of the significant & perhaps a life changing experience that most of the Study Visit participants have had it has been decided that the Study Visit to England would now become part of the calendar and any student at the University of Bolton, RAK campus would be allowed to participate and gain this learning experience.

The next Study Tour to England would be scheduled during the Summer of the Academic Year 2011 -12 after 2012 Eid Ul-Fitr.

Dr. Zubair Hanslot, Provost, Off Campus Division adds that 'the University of Bolton will encourage its students by providing similar such opportunities which he feels would be an integral part of the learning experience of any student at the RAK campus. He also added that the academic year 2011-12 will also see an increased engagement between staff & students at the two campuses which is in keeping with the university's internationalisation agenda with the RAK campus being at its very heart'

Says Faisal Chaudhary who is a student on the Civil Engineering programme and the Vice President of the Bolton Students Union at the RAK campus 'while I am reading a Civil Engineering programme the chance to organise the Study Visit to England under the guidance of the senior management team at the campus offered me the experience to understand the importance of time management, eye for detail and definitely enhanced my communication & negotiation skills'.

The Special Presentation ceremony saw students receiving their certificate of participation as well as provide ample photo opportunities for family & friends of the students receiving their awards and was concluded with eager conversations & high fives going around.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Suresh Dinakaran
WINC
Email: Click to Email Suresh Dinakaran
Web: http://www.wincedu.net
