Cincinnati, OH -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/09/2012 -- For the fourth consecutive year, The Allstate Gospel Superfest Battle of the Bands is conducting its annual talent search to find new and aspiring gospel talent to serve as the opening act at the Allstate Gospel Superfest. The show's producers will take to the road beginning August 11, 2012 and will stop in three southern U.S. markets to seek talent.

The competition began accepting entrants via its web site (www.gospelsuperfest.com) on June 21, 2012, and will continue registration until all of the sixty (60) slots are filled. Fans and supporters can attend the auditions free of charge at each of the audition sites listed below. Each city will yield one regional finalist, with online voting to determine the grand prizewinner. The grand prizewinner will receive a cash prize of $2,500.00 and a trip to the 2013 Allstate Gospel Superfest.

The auditions will begin in each market at 5:00 PM local time with doors opening at 4:30 PM. As a special treat to fans, national recording artists will close out each audition session with a free concert and meet and greet session.

Five thousand attendees raised the praise in Memphis!

Memphis, TN -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/24/2012 -- On March 23, 2012, gospel music lovers flocked in droves to the 2012 Allstate Gospel Superfest in support of its live television taping, which took place for the first time ever in Memphis, TN. The event was held at the Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, 369 G. E. Patterson Ave, Memphis, TN 38126. Celebrity actress Vivica A. Fox hosted this year's extravaganza with charisma and poise.

Various media outlets checked in early to secure a spot on the red carpet while hundreds of people wrapped around the 5,000-seat venue.  Hundreds more had to be turned away from this sold to capacity recording event.

The show opened with the 2011 winners of the Allstate Gospel Superfest Battle of the Bands competition, Men of God's Heart of Columbus, OH. This annual competition auditions unsigned gospel talent in search of finding the opening act for the following year's television taping. The pre-show also featured Tia Rachelle, Courtney little and Jonathan McReynolds. All of which provided a spiritual appetizer for the thousands of fans in attendance.

After the pre-show ended, the main event began with back to back seamless performances by some of the nation's most renowned gospel artists. Over ninety (90) mimes appeared on stage to deliver a dynamic performance as tribute to K & K Mime.
