Academy of Cinema and Television's Rachel Dolan Plays Role of Carlotta in the Film "Four Single Fathers"

The Academy of Cinema and Television's child actor Rachel Dolan won and played the role as Carlotta in the film "Four Single Fathers," a comedy/drama directed by Paolo Monico.

Phoenix, AZ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/02/2008 -- The film "Four Single Fathers" centers on the bond between four men whose kids attend the same school. It was shot in Boston and New York and is co-produced by Mediaset and Gabrielle Muccino's Los Angeles-based Indiana Productions. It's the first English-language foray for Mediaset, Italy's top commercial group, owned by Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi and managed by his son Piersilvio Berlusconi. The Academy of Cinema and Television's Rachel Dolan was cast and did the filming of her character, Carlotta, in Boston.

Like most of the child actors that audition and are accepted to the Academy of Cinema and Television, Rachel Dolan has a passion for acting and she is what most acting instructors would call "a natural." Dolan loves practicing scenes. She finds acting fun and a very fitting creative medium for her personality. She enjoys expressing her feelings and role playing.

Also like many successful child actors, Dolan is involved in many activities. She plays the violin, ice skates competitively, is a member of a Gymnastics Demo Team as well as a member of a competitive cheer-leading squad.

Filming "Four Single Fathers" was a great deal of fun for Dolan -- her role as Carlota, one of the children in the comedy/drama about four Italian single fathers trying to cope with American ex-wives, children, family, and new relationships, was perfect for her. Classes at the Academy of Cinema and Television had more than prepared her for the long days of filming and the discipline needed for role.

Marin Dolan, Rachel's mom, said of the training received at the Academy, "the auditions and evaluations the kids had were invaluable. Being able to get feedback was so important to helping Rachel perfect her skills. It was an opportunity that you don't usually get during the whole [film/tv] audition process."

"Four Single Fathers" is currently in post production and is scheduled for release in 2009 -- executive producer Pete Maggi said the independent picture will aim for a Sundance launch.

The Academy of Cinema and Television Collaborates with Malese Jow

The Academy of Cinema and Television working on a collaboration with Malese Jow to create a specialized online educational series for kids and teens interested in the Entertainment Industry.

Hollywood, CA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 07/31/2008 -- The Academy of Cinema and Television understands that many parents have aspiring starlets who know at a young age exactly what he or she wants to do – act professionally. Of course, they tend to voice their desire in terms of "I want to be a TV star" or "I want to perform like the Jonas Brothers". However, the road to becoming a child or teen actor is often paved with pitfalls, ones that can be avoided if you know what to look for. One solution is to use an Internet series of Q & As from celebrities, this way the upcoming talents kids can learn from those who are walking the road to stardom.

Students of the Academy of Cinema and Television learn cutting edge techniques for working on-camera, how to bring an audition or scene alive, as well as important processes to make them stand out from the crowd. Now, they can also learn first hand the demands of the entertainment industry from successful child and teen stars, like Malese Jow.

Jow was born, Elizabeth Melise Jow on February 18, 1991. The Tulsa, Oklahoma native is half-Chinese and part-Cherokee Indian.

Jow began her career at the tender age of two as a print model for JC Penny out of the Dallas market and also appeared in a number of national commercials by the time she was five. When she was seven she was chosen to be the opening act for Rodney Lay and the Wild West, a group of retired country musicians from Hee Haw fame at a live theater show in Grove, Oklahoma. Jow was selected over 75 adult women for this opportunity, and began a year-long run as one of their leading ladies - opening for such legendary acts as Brenda Lee, George Jones, Ty Herndon, and many others.

At the age of eight, the head of McDonald's advertising heard Jow's voice, and after a whirlwind corporate meeting with their executives in Chicago, she was given the unique opportunity of appearing in several McDonald's/Disney commercials and radio jingles. In the spring of 2000, 9-year-old Malese and her family moved to LA for the Hollywood pilot season.

In 2002 she appeared on Ed McMahon's Next Big Star on PAX-TV. She won 4 rounds against stiff competition and made it to the finals where she suffered a devastating loss to her competitor by one audience vote - after the first balloting was declared a tie. After the disappointing loss she focused primarily on acting, and in 2003 competed against thousands of girls and landed the role of the funky and fashionable Geena Fabiano for the pilot of Nickelodeon's hit show "Unfabulous".

Jow is perhaps best known for playing the Geena Fabiano role on the Nickelodeon series, alongside Emma Roberts, and her 2007 role in the movie "Bratz" as the character Quinn in the popular group of high school girls from the film.

Today Jow is focused on her music and pursuing her life-long dream of becoming a serious vocalist. According to her MySpace.com page, she wants "to have a career in the entertainment industry that spans over a lifetime…"

Young talented kids like Jow are in demand in the entertainment industry this year. With television stations like Disney and Nickelodeon targeting only kids and teens, the market for new faces is growing as never before. And with this growth comes "instant stardom" for the ones that are picked to act, sing, dance or even do extra work. Such stardom is often difficult for adults to deal with, much less children, so it is vitally important that the family be involved as well. Knowing other families and parents who have put their own lives on hold to follow their child's dreams and have been successful makes the journey much easier.
The Academy of Cinema and Television Announces Collaboration with Adrian R'Mante

The Academy of Cinema and Television, announces collaboration with actor Adrian R'Mante to produce a an online educational Q&A session that will inform and empower parents of children interested in the performing arts. The private academy is dedicated to helping students earn and maintain an edge in the highly competitive entertainment industry.

Phoenix, AZ -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/09/2008 -- The Academy of Cinema and Television announced today, a collaboration with Adrian R'Mante to create a specialized online educational series for kids and teens interested in the Entertainment Industry.

The Academy of Cinema and Television realizes that many parents have aspiring child or teen actors who know at a young age exactly what he or she wants to do – act professionally. Of course, they tend to voice their desire in terms of "I want to be a movie star" or "I want to be like Zack and Cody on the Disney channel". However, the road to becoming a child or teen actor is often paved with pitfalls, ones that can be avoided if you know what to look for. This why the new Internet series of Q & As are so important ... learning from those who are walking the road to stardom.

Adrian R'Mante was born February 3, 1978 to a poor family in Tampa, Florida. R'Mante's charming, dark Spanish good looks caught Hollywood eyes at the young age of 14. This ironic sighting at a local mall continues to benefit R'Mante's family today. This early break into stardom found him as a host in the game show 'Game Lab' in Orlando. Other hosting spots landing him on Nickelodeon and Discovery.

R'Mante's first three paid acting roles include a student on Moesha, an uncredited cop on the Profiler series and a delivery guy on The Wayan Bros Show, all in 1999.

Prior to his best known and current role as the Spanish immigrant Esteban on the Disney Channel show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, R'Mante appeared as a guest star on several TV shows including CSI: New York, Frasier, Hanna Montana and 24. Movie credits include Truth and Dare (2003), Straight Jacket (2004) and Gin and the Rumble Within (2006).

R'Mante and wife Anna Garcia live in Los Angeles with their three children; Walter, Joel and Pedro. Learn more about his entertainment career here: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0704590/ or at http://www.tvguide.com/celebrities/adrian-rmante/194712

R'Mante is a perfect match for the Academy's new online Q&A educational series. According to Academy Director Jack White, the new Q&A series idea came about because the school wants to let kids, teens and their parents know that entering the world of entertainment is possible if the raw talent is in place. "We wanted to show both students and non-students that making it in the entertainment industry is doable."
