Berrien Dental Introduces Anutra to Their Patients

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2016 -- Anutra is a buffered anesthetics system that benefits the patient by allowing the anesthetic to work more quickly. No more sitting and waiting to get numb while the patient waits in the chair, wondering if the doctor is ever going to come back. Now, using Anutra the doctor never leaves the persons side, making the experience more efficient and comfortable.

Just thinking about getting that Novocain shot is very stressful and is one of the well known dental fears that affect a large number of dental patients. For the patient the foremost benefit of Anutra is that there is no pain, unlike the usual anesthetizing injection.

Other benefits include being able to numb up patients who have difficulty getting numb and have to endure several shots. Also, Anutra numbs up individuals who suffer from fibromyalgia pain. Fibromyalgia pain often occurs in the face, head, and neck areas, which can make dental visits intimidating.

Dr. Christy says, "Imagine having a crown or a bridge placed with the old Novocain style anesthetic. It seemed to take forever to get numb and when it finally did I was still out of the room. The patient was afraid the numbing effect would be gone by the time I came back." Anutra significantly enhances patient experience and comfort.

The average length of time it takes to numb up a patient is one and a half minutes compared to about 10-12 minutes with conventional Novocain. "My team loves me because I stay on time and my patients and my staff get out of the office on time. It's a win-win for everybody," remarks Dr. Balsis.

Dr. Christy comments, "I was amazed. My first patient said they felt numb immediately, so we got started in a minute and a half." In conventional anesthetics, there normally is a significant delay from when the doctor administers the anesthetic injection to when the patient is ready for the procedure.

Technology in the field of dentistry is constantly advancing and in order to continue to bring their patients the latest in treatments, Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis take advanced dental courses on a regular basis. They also belong to numerous dental professional organizations.

Berrien Dental Uses Velscope to Identify Possible Early Signs of Oral Cancer

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/26/2016 -- The mortality rate of oral cancer has not changed in over thirty years in part due to the fact that it isn't diagnosed early enough. Berrien Dental uses the VELscope oral cancer screening system. Dr. Todd Christy, Dr. Eric Balsis and the hygienists can detect suspect areas before they are visible to the naked eye.

Oral cancer appears as white, red or white and red patches. When these patches are able to be seen by the naked eye it typically means the cancer is already in an advanced stage. VELscope allows the Berrien Dental doctors to detect possible oral cancer cells at their earliest stage, when oral cancer is still often curable.

The VELscope system uses a powerful blue light to increase the ability to see lesions, cancerous, and precancerous cells typically invisible to the naked eye. "The light allows me to distinguish between normal and abnormal cells with a higher rate of accuracy," states Dr. Balsis. VELscope also allows for better removal of all diseased tissue.

Risk factors for oral cancer vary for different people. Some risk factors, such as age or race, can't be changed. Others may be related to smoking, drinking, or diet. However, risk factors don't tell the doctors the entire story. By using VELscope Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis get an early jump on diagnosing suspect cells.

Oral cancers are twice as common in men as in women. "This might be because men have been more likely to use tobacco and alcohol in the past. While this is changing, the recent rise in HPV-linked cancers has been mainly among younger men," Dr. Balsis noted.

"We are using the VELscope as an oral cancer-screening device. It does not diagnose cancer, but is in addition to the oral examination. It is, with our experience, a fantastic non-invasive screening device. It is a misconception that some dentists or dental hygienists hold that this device will determine whether or not the lesion is cancerous. It does not. It simply aids in finding abnormalities not visible to the naked eye," remarks Dr. Christy.

Screening for oral cancer with VELscope is completed in a minute or two and is a non-invasive procedure. This screening is included in every routine dental exam and there is no extra charge for the procedure.

Berrien Dental Uses iTero Intraoral Scanner Instead of Goopy Impression Trays

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2015 -- Berrien Dental is proud to be one of only a few dental practices in the country that use the state-of-the-art iTero Intra Oral Digital Scanner. Traditional dental impressions are replaced with highly accurate digital images.

Using the iTero Intra Oral Digital scanner, allows Berrien Dental to take a series of images of each tooth from different angles. Patients have told the doctors that the awful feeling of goop sticking to their teeth and the fear of it going down their throat when having impressions taken no longer happens when the iTero Scanner is used. They informed the assistants that the feeling of gagging is gone.

Having the ability to digitally scan the area to be worked on, allows a virtual image of the area to be created. From this virtual image, a lab is then utilized for fabrication of a finished result, meaning no goopy impression material is used. "Once the 3D digital scan of the patient's teeth and the bite is completed, and any needed adjustments have been made, I can transmit the file via computer to our dental laboratory," states Dr. Christy.

Intra oral mapping technology (3D digital technology) has emerged as one of the most promising new areas in dentistry. This allows the cosmetic dentist to perform three dimensional scanning of the mouth for a variety of procedures. Dr. Balsis comments, "We have adopted the foremost among these technologies, the iTero Intra Oral Digital Scanning technology for our offices."

About Berrien Dental
Dr. Todd Christy and Dr. Eric Balsis, with a combined 26 years of cosmetic and general dentistry experience under their belts, provide solutions to existing problems using the latest in technology including the iTero Intra Oral Digital Scanning technology and offer the best care that they have available for their patients.

Technology in the field of dentistry is constantly advancing and in order to bring their patients the latest in treatments, Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis take advanced dental courses on a regular basis.

Berrien Dental Offers Invisalign as a Teeth-Straightening Option

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/25/2015 -- Working adults with professional obligations often find themselves looking for alternatives to traditional metal braces when considering getting their teeth straightened. To accommodate them, Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis of Berrien Dental offer Invisalign®, a treatment plan involving invisible aligner trays that are changed every two weeks.

Invisalign® treats a wide variety of dental problems, such as crowded teeth, spaces between teeth, and bite-related issues. It produces the same end result as metal braces—a straight, beautiful smile—but when comparing both types of treatment, the advantages of Invisalign® are unrivaled. Unlike metal braces, the Invisalign® aligners are easily removable for special occasions, as well as for brushing or flossing. Because the aligners are invisible, they can be worn without anyone noticing. In addition, the Invisalign® treatment plan frees up busy schedules, as office visits are required only every six weeks. Treatment typically takes about a year for adults.

Traditional metal brace wires can cause pain from mouth sores or other injuries. Tooth decay is also more common due to improper cleaning or plaque buildup. With metal braces, one usually has to forego certain types of food, such as nuts, apples, carrots, corn on the cob and so on.

Dr. Christy further elaborates, "Instead of sharp metal that is more likely to irritate your cheeks and gums, Invisalign consists of smooth plastic aligners. That means you can continue doing all the things you normally would, without having to change your diet."

The Invisalign® treatment begins after you consult with either Dr. Christy or Dr. Balsis and decide that it is a suitable option for you. Since it is an important medical and financial decision, choosing the right treatment plan is necessary. "During this consultation, we will evaluate your case in detail before determining if Invisalign is the right choice for you. We will also give you an estimate of how long your treatment will take," explains Dr. Balsis.

Technology in the field of dentistry is constantly advancing. In order to bring their patients the most updated treatment options and methods, both Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis attend advanced dental courses on a regular basis.

Berrien Dental Lays out Gum Disease Risk Factors

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/18/2015 -- Some risk factors for periodontal disease (gum disease), such as age or genetics, may be unavoidable. Others, however, can be slowed down by changing certain lifestyle habits. Dr. Todd Christy and Dr. Eric Balsis of Berrien Dental help you recognize these habits and work on them in order to reduce your risk of gum disease.

"The main cause of gum disease is the buildup of plaque on teeth. This creates pockets between the teeth and gums, allowing bacteria to infiltrate. However, other factors affect the health of a person's gums as well," explains Dr. Christy.

We typically associate smoking or tobacco use with lung cancer, heart disease and other health conditions. The truth is, studies have found that these habits may also be among the most compelling risk factors for developing gum disease.

Another common contributor to gum disease is stress. On top of being linked to health problems such as high blood pressure and cancer, stress can make it much more challenging to fight off bacteria that cause gum disease infections.

"Certain medications can affect oral health. Some examples include anti-depressants, birth control pills and some heart medicines," Dr. Balsis maintains, "It is therefore extremely important to keep your dentist aware of the medications you are on."

People who are bruxers (teeth grinders) are at higher risk of gum disease as they exert excess force on the tissues that support the teeth. This speeds up the rate at which these tissues get worn out.

In addition, some systemic diseases that hamper the body's immune system may increase the risk of gum disease. These include diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and certain cardiovascular diseases.

Dr. Christy adds, "Another commonly overlooked risk factor is poor nutrition and obesity, which prevents the body's immune system from functioning as well as it should. Gum disease begins as an infection and poor nutrition can worsen the condition."

Gum disease and osteoporosis tend to share several common risk factors. They are generally more common among patients with a family history of either or both diseases.

Fortunately, technology in the field of dentistry is constantly advancing. In order to bring their patients the most updated treatment options and methods, both Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis attend advanced dental courses on a regular basis.

Berrien Dental Holds Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony at New Practice

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/12/2014 -- Berrien Dental would like to express their gratitude for the continued support they have received as they officially declare the new office open. Held on October 31, the ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by the Saint Joseph Mayor, the Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce President, friends, family, and other members of the community.

A new sign for the practice arrived just in time for the ceremony, which was held to commemorate the opening of Berrien Dental's second office. This office is located at 711 Comings Avenue, just south of Napier Avenue off of Niles Avenue in Saint Joseph. Dr. Todd Christy and Dr. Eric Balsis of Berrien Dental acquired the new practice location in addition to their existing one in Berrien Springs, MI. The two offices are approximately 10 miles apart.

The previous owner of the Saint Joseph dental practice, Dr. Brian Smith, chose Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis to take over it upon his retirement. On September 25, the Berrien Dental team threw a retirement party for Dr. Smith. The party was held in the Saint Joseph office and was a great opportunity for everyone from both Berrien Dental offices to get to know each other and to wish Dr. Smith a happy retirement.

Dr. Smith retired from practice on September 2, but will continue to assist in the office during the period of transition over the coming months.

Both Berrien Dental offices will remain open throughout the week. The Berrien Springs location will maintain its current hours, while the Saint Joseph location will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 7am to 5pm and Friday from 7am to 1pm.

The entire team from Dr. Smith's practice will be staying on, during and after the transition. Dr. Christy, Dr. Balsis and the teams from both offices are already up and running.

The office in Saint Joseph will be undergoing some remodeling, but it will be done in sections so as not to interfere with patients' dental visits.

Berrien Dental Opens 2nd Office in the City of St. Joseph

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/08/2014 -- Dr. Todd Christy, owner of Berrien Dental in Berrien Springs, cut the ribbon to celebrate the official opening of their new dental office at 711 Comings Ave in the City of St. Joseph. Cornerstone Chamber of Commerce facilitated the ribbon cutting.

Dr. Todd Christy graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Microbiology. He then earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Detroit-Mercy, School of Dentistry. After graduating from dental school, Dr. Christy opened his dental practice, Berrien Dental, and has been practicing here for the past 18 years.

His practice grew thanks to a great team and supportive patients that provided referrals through their friends and families. In March of 2002 he moved the practice to the current M-139 location north of Red Bud Trail in Berrien Springs. In July of that year, he took over the care of the patients of Dr. Gordon Byrd of St. Joseph.

Dr. Eric Balsis joined the practice in April 2010. Their growth continued with new patient referrals as well as taking over Dr. Ronald Carr's patients from Buchanan when he retired in November of 2012.

Dr. Brian Smith, whose practice is in St. Joseph, chose Drs. Christy and Balsis to take over his practice as he anticipated retirement in September of this year. Dr. Smith will assist in the coming months through the transition.

About The Berrien Springs Office
The Berrien Springs office will remain open with their current hours and staff. The St. Joseph location will be open Tuesday and Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00-1:00 p.m. The entire team from Dr. Smith's practice will be staying on, during and after the transition.

Dr. Christy stated, "We're really excited to have a second location and we're equally happy for Dr. Smith and his well-deserved retirement."

"We look forward to continued growth. We have an outstanding staff that is excellent at customer service. I'm very proud of them," he continued.

Berrien Dental Warns of Life-Threatening Effects Caused by Periodontal Disease

Periodontal disease, more commonly known as gum disease, is a quiet destructive infection associated with as many as five hundred different kinds of bacteria that are creating damaging toxins and byproducts in an individual’s mouth every day. Yesterday, dentists and dental hygienists strived to save teeth with regular cleanings. In the future, there is much more to be taken into consideration. If the patient has an inflammatory condition like periodontal disease, they are in danger of developing more serious problems, such as heart problems, diabetes, or rheumatoid arthritis.

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/07/2014 -- As Berrien Dental manages the health of teeth, they are not just saving the teeth – they are also saving lives.

"As gum disease continues unchecked, enzymes excreted by the bacteria slowly destroy the gum tissue. This allows the bacteria to access your bloodstream. The bacteria and their by-products cause an inflammatory response throughout the body. For anyone with a weakened immune system, this negative factor is likely to have complicating effects on pre-existing medical conditions," remarks Dr. Todd Christy.

"Although diabetics are more prone to periodontal disease, we haven't been sure if diabetes causes periodontitis or vice versa. In 1993, researchers at Columbia University's School of Public Health studied more than 9,000 adults with periodontal disease who showed no symptoms of diabetes. By the end of the study, more than 800 of them were diabetics," states Dr. Eric Balsis. "It was found if a person had advanced periodontal disease, they were almost twice as likely to contract diabetes within the following two decades."

During check-ups at Berrien Dental, the hygienists treat gum disease and its effects, therefore lessening the chances for developing heart disease. Gum disease affects the heart by triggering a series of chemical events that brew up an inflammatory response across the entire body. When plaque lining the arteries causes the arteries to become inflamed, blood clots can form, bringing about heart attack or stroke.

Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis conclude, "It is not enough to just keep watch on suspicious spots in the gums. Instead, attacking gum disease aggressively will be a critical action step in maintaining, and improving our patients' overall health and their enjoyment of life." If you suspect you have gum disease call (269) 471-4055 and make an appointment.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Dr. Todd Christy
Dentist
Berrien Dental
Telephone: 269-471-4055
Email: Click to Email Dr. Todd Christy
Web: http://www.berriendental.com

Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis Explain How Improving One's Smile Improves the First Impression You Present when Meeting Others

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/25/2014 -- It's no secret that within seconds after seeing another person's photo or face, almost all people have already made initial judgements about some very basic and important personal traits of that individual. It's not fair, but it is reality. Based on an individual's eyes, eyebrows, hair, ears, facial structure and especially the smile, they have ranked that individual on a number of scales:

- smart / stupid
- rich / poor
- attractive / unattractive
- healthy / sickly
- desirable / repulsive
- a possible friend / a definite person to avoid
- aware of self appearance / clueless

And, once these impressions are formed, psychologists have found that turning them around from negative to positive, or vice versa, can be a difficult task.

Using esthetic dentistry, Berrien Dental has the technology and techniques to create a smile that can change the first impression that people form. Using cosmetic dental advancements, they create a smile that can make those people that a patient meets immediately think more highly of them. Nature-mimicking restorations such as bonded natural-looking fillings, porcelain crowns and veneers look, feel and function like a patient's own teeth.

Within an independent study, it was found: When asked, "What exactly is the first thing you observe in someone's smile?" The most common responses according to Dr. Eric Balsis were, "A straight smile, brightness and color of teeth and cleanliness of teeth." Other answers were sincerity of smile, missing teeth and the glossiness of a smile.

Then respondents were asked, "What would you most want to improve about your own smile?" The most common answer was: "Brighter and whiter teeth." Then when asked, "What types of things do you believe make a smile less attractive?" The most common replies Dr. Balsis remarked were, "Discolored, yellow or stained teeth, missing teeth and crooked teeth. Other comments were decaying teeth, cavities and spaces and gaps in teeth."

"According to a study completed by the AACD, practically all Americans (98.7%) feel a smile is a crucial social asset and 97% of adult men and women think a wonderful smile makes a person more desirable to the opposite sex," notes Dr. Christy.

Changing a smile changes a person's entire appearance and impacts day-to-day interactions. That's why it's so important that patients are equal partners in all of the decisions about a smile makeover.

Berrien Dental can restore a beautiful, youthful look to almost anyone's appearance, remove gaps and spaces between teeth, use all porcelain restorations to replace old "dark" dentistry and many other smile enhancing treatments.

Berrien Dental Gives Each Patient an Oral Cancer Screening

The Oral Cancer Foundation reports that over 42,000 new cases of oral cancer are diagnosed each year in the United States. The mortality rate of oral cancer has not changed in over thirty years in part due to the fact that it isn’t diagnosed early enough.

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/26/2014 -- Berrien Dental uses the VELscope oral cancer screening system. Dr. Todd Christy, Dr. Eric Balsis and the hygienists can detect suspect areas before they are visible to the naked eye. Oral cancer appears as white, red, or white and red patches. When these patches are able to be seen by the naked eye it typically means the cancer is already in an advanced stage. VELscope allows the Berrien Dental doctors to detect possible oral cancer at its earliest stage, when oral cancer is still often curable.

The VELscope system uses a powerful blue light to increase the ability to see lesions, cancerous, and precancerous cells typically invisible to the naked eye. "The light allows me to distinguish between normal and abnormal cells with a higher rate of accuracy," states Dr. Christy. VELscope also allows for better removal of all diseased tissue.

"Risk factors for oral cancer vary for different people. Some risk factors, such as age or race, can't be changed. Others may be related to smoking, drinking, or diet. Some factors influence risk more than others. But risk factors don't tell us everything," says Dr. Balsis. Having a risk factor, or even several, does not mean that a person will get the disease. Also, not having any risk factors doesn't mean that a person won't get it, either.

"Common risk factors related to oral cancer are, tobacco use, drinking alcohol and the human papilloma virus (HPV). The risk goes up even more for people who use both tobacco and alcohol. About 7 out of 10 patients with oral cancer are heavy drinkers," remarks Dr. Christy. Infection with certain types of HPV can also cause some forms of cancer. HPV can be passed from one person to another during skin-to-skin contact. The type of virus linked to throat cancer (including cancer of the oropharynx) is HPV16.

Oral and oropharyngeal cancers are twice as common in men as in women. "This might be because men have been more likely to use tobacco and alcohol in the past. While this is changing, the recent rise in HPV-linked cancers has been mainly among younger men," Dr. Christy noted.

Screening for oral cancer with VELscope is completed in a minute or two and is a non-invasive procedure. This screening is included in every routine dental exam and there is no extra charge for the procedure. Call Berrien Dental at 269-471-4055 and make an appointment for a six-month check-up.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Dr. Todd Christy
Telephone: 269-471-4055
Email: Click to Email Dr. Todd Christy
Web: http://berriendental.com/

Berrien Dental First in County to Use Containment System for Mercury Removal

Berrien Dental is proud to announce they have installed the patented HG Containment System from Anterior Quest of Jenison, Michigan.

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/21/2013 -- Dr. Todd Christy says, "It is the most revolutionary and total amalgam containment system on the market that guarantees 100% removal of mercury and amalgam from dental wastewater." By removing 100% of these pollutants, Berrien Dental will always be in compliance with government regulations or standards.

The patented filter-less technology works with any vacuum system wet or dry and is not only environmentally friendly, but user friendly. "It is virtually maintenance free assuring that we will never have to remove hazardous, messy filters again," comments Dr. Eric Balsis.

Anterior Quest is the only Amalgam containment system available. On August 23, 2012 the State of Michigan put in place that Amalgam Separators will be allowed, but will have the State of Michigan visiting the offices of those that have them for compliance. Also dental offices will have to start filing paperwork to stay compliant each time a new filter is purchased and recycled.

Berrien Dental wants to be part of the solution by eliminating mercury toxin from their practice. Anterior Quest exceeds the call to "reduce" discharges of mercury by eliminating the bio-accumulative toxin from the office altogether. Once removed from the office, it is then disposed of by a licensed recycler thus making it both user and environmentally friendly. Berrien Dental is the first and only dental practice in Berrien County to have this system in place at this time.

Drs. Christy and Balsis act with confidence knowing that Anterior Quest guarantees compliance by containing and removing 100% of the mercury and amalgam from the wastewater generated by their practice.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Dr. Todd Christy
Telephone: (269) 471-4055
Email: Click to Email Dr. Todd Christy
Web: http://berriendental.com/

Berrien Dental Provides Relief for TMJS Sufferers

Dr. Todd Christy and Dr. Eric Balsis, of Berrien Dental are using advanced training for relieving patients suffering with pain from Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome Disorder (TMJS). Sixty million people in America suffer unnecessarily from this disorder.

Berrien Springs, MI -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2013 -- For years, the notion that chronic headaches and migraines were linked to the jaw joint was not taken seriously. However, the medical and dental communities, including Dr. Christy and Dr. Balsis are joining forces in an interdisciplinary approach to treating Temporomandibular Joint Syndrome (Disorder).

Dr. Todd Christy asks "Do you have a clicking jaw, severe headaches, ringing ears, neck pain, or limited opening of your jaw? If so, TMJS could be the culprit." To put it differently, the aching muscles and the pain in the head and neck is brought on by muscle tissue, ligaments, joints, and bones not properly lining up.

Research through the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine examined the existence of TMJS in twenty-four individuals referred to a neurology medical office. The goal was to figure out the percentage of patients referred to a neurology center for headaches where TMJS would be the foremost reason for pain. They determined that 11 of the 24 patients with headaches had TMJS. That percentage, nearly half, is regarded as a high percentage when compared to the 15% in the general population determined to have TMJS.

Signs and symptoms of TMJS include clicking, popping or grating noise whenever opening or closing the mouth, headaches and/or light headedness or pain in jaw muscles. Other symptoms may include earache, jaws which sometimes lock open when yawning or if mouth is held open and cramps or spasm in the jaw region. If you experienced one or more of these symptoms, mention it to Dr. Todd Christy or Dr. Eric Balsis.

"As scientific opinion continues to grow regarding the link between headaches and TMJS, individuals who believe they have this condition should consult with Dr. Christy or me at Berrien Dental. We have taken advanced training in the treatment of TMJS," comments Dr. Balsis.

Their treatment methods usually involve no pills, zero shots, zero surgery, and no unwanted side effects. Dr. Christy or Dr. Balsis can treat these issues because they are caused by clenching your teeth when you are sleeping and occasionally during the day. When you clench your teeth, you make use of a number of the strongest muscles in your body. The high-intensity contractions of such powerful muscles turn out to be painful and the forces generated cause pain in surrounding tissues, joints, as well as other muscles.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Dr. Todd Christy
Telephone: 269-471-4055
Email: Click to Email Dr. Todd Christy
Web: http://www.berriendental.com

"Some of the children that I treated when I was much younger are now grown and have families of their own with children that I see as well," reminisced Dr. Carr recently. "It's hard to give it up but it's time for me to retire and take some time for myself. I recently lost the lease on my building and the owners have decided to tear it down and build new. Then, just a few weeks ago, I lost my dear wife, Maureen, to cancer. I think it's time to slow down."

Dr. Carr wrote a personal letter to his patients explaining his plans and encouraging them to, one last time, follow his advice for good oral health.

"I told them that, for years I have been going to see Dr. Balsis and Dr. Christy at Berrien Dental for my personal dental needs. They offer technology and services that I only wish I could have offered to my own patients. I feel that my patients would be in very good hands and I am once again providing them with the best dentistry I have to offer," stated Dr. Carr. "Who knows, maybe I'll see them when I come in for my own appointments," he chuckled.

Dr. Todd Christy and Dr. Eric Balsis of Berrien Dental are throwing a Thank You party for their long-time colleague and friend, and festivities will be held at Berrien Dental's practice location.

"Dr. Carr is not only a personal friend and our patient, he is also a small-town dental hero,"explained Dr. Christy. "In rural areas across the country, small communities often struggle to get and retain local dental practices. Dr. Carr is an example of someone who was more interested in his patients' good health than he was about fees and profit. He has served the people of Buchanan with skill and love for a long time."
