BusiNeighbor Inc. Participates in Georgia Gives Day

Be a Hero for Heroes

Stone Mountain, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/20/2015 -- Do you know a Veteran? Veterans don't walk around wearing medals, or brag about what they have experienced. They live among us quiet heroes making the world a better place. Often these men and women aren't thanked enough, aren't honored enough, and aren't respected enough. Every Veteran has their own story. You can't see what they've seen, know what they know, or understand the impact and effects of war, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression. So how do you know when one needs help? According to the Veterans Administration 22 Veterans commit suicide daily.

BusiNeighbor Inc., a Georgia nonprofit organization wants to help Veterans returning home depressed and committing suicide. Many of the Veterans who take depression medication complain of side effects and feel like they have no support and have no alternative but suicide. The VA hospital is challenged with the volume of Veterans experiencing mental health issues.

BusiNeighbor Inc.'s mission is to be a partner with the Veterans Administration to reduce suicide among Veterans by offering a relaxing stress free environment which can be integrated with the Veterans' traditional medical treatment.

Decreasing Suicide Rates: A Plausible Solution.
Today marks an important first step towards the goal of opening the BusiNeighbor Inc. Veterans Recreation Center for all Georgia Veterans. Will you help BusiNeighbor Inc. open a Veterans Recreation Center? BusiNeighbor Inc. believes in the positive impact recreation can have on mental health, from reducing depression and relieving stress, to improving quality of life, to helping Veterans feel better about both their surroundings and themselves.

The power of 1 can save a life. Help prevent suicide. I pray for this campaign's success and sincerely hope to see as many Veteran Recreation Centers as there are VA hospitals. We want to use Georgia Gives Day to be a hero for heroes and bring awareness to this very serious need" Charmelle Scott, Executive Director BusiNeighor Inc.

Georgia Gives Day is on November 12, 2015. Georgia Gives Day is a collaboration of the Georgia Center for Nonprofits (GCN) in partnership with participating nonprofits, state agencies, corporations and businesses, associations, foundations and public relations and advertising firms.

Will You Help Prevent Suicide - Be a Hero for Heroes - Rescue One Veteran Today

Fundraising Campaign Underway to Build a Veterans Recreation Center in Stone Mountain, GA to Reduce the Increasing Suicide Rate.

Stone Mountain, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 08/11/2015 -- BusiNeighbor, Inc. has launched a fundraising campaign to raise money for a Veterans Recreation Center in Stone Mountain, GA. The center will provide activities and much needed relief for those struggling with mental illness.

The initiative comes after startling statistics released from the U.S. Veterans Administration report 22 veterans commit suicide daily. It's a tragic fact thousands of brave military veterans are returning home only to fall into deep depression and end their lives.

The proposed 4,400 square foot facility will be home to a food pantry, clothing pantry, exercise room, computer lab, reading lab, and day room with televisions and pool tables. The center will also provide an empowerment curriculum to include cooking classes, personal development, financial literacy and computer technology. According to leading experts, recreation is an essential part of the healing process, an important aspect that can't be provided just by medication and therapy.

"Veterans choose their path knowing the difficulties it holds: separating from love ones, placing service above self and pledging their lives to our defense, so that, in their absence, we can enjoy our time in life. These courageous people are very real. Their pain is very real says Charmelle Scott Executive Director of BusiNeighbor. This center will truly invest in Veterans."

BusiNeighbor Community Yard Sale to Benefit Diaper Drive Titled "Be a Voice for Babies"

Be a Voice for Babies today!

Tucker, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/29/2014 -- BusiNeighbor Inc.is hosting a community yard sale will be held to raise funds to purchase 60,000 diapers to benefit Georgia families.

The diaper rash index is an odd but very real economic indicator majorly affecting the economy. Over the past couple of years, sales of disposable diapers have fallen at the same time as diaper rash cream sales have increased. What is the reason for this consumer shift? Parents are changing their kids' diapers less frequently, perhaps out of a desire to save money. The result is an epidemic of irritated baby bottoms.

An increasing number of parents state they must choose between buying diapers and paying for food and other important necessities. Diapering one child six times a day costs about $1,500 a year, according to diaper manufacturers, so it is easy to see how this annual expense could become a financial burden for a single parent or two-parent households living on one income often times with multiple children wearing diapers.

Diapers are a basic need for children and essential to their health. Many families struggle financially to purchase diapers, and few resources exist both federally and locally in Georgia to help these parents. Diapers are expensive, and the longer a baby sit in a dirty diaper, the more likely the chances of an infection. "I have heard so many heartbreaking stories of conditions where babies were left in soiled diapers, and parents who could not take their children to daycare because there were no diapers said Charmelle Scott, executive director of BusiNeighbor. You can be so far removed when you don't have children but believe me it impacts the community as a whole when children suffer."

The community yard sale will be held from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the parking lot at Lilburn Alliance Church 5915 Lawrenceville Highway Tuker GA.,30084. Families and businesses interested in donating items to sale or participating in the community yard sale can contact the organization directly info@BusiNeighbor.org.

Is the Life of a Child Worth $1 to You

A local non-profit organization wants Georgia Gives Day 11-13-13 to be a day for babies.
Inadequate Diaper Supply Linked To Child Abuse, Depression

Duluth, GA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 10/21/2013 -- Diapers are a basic necessity for a child and play a key role in a baby's health and well-being but diapers are expensive. According to the Real Diaper Association, a child will use approximately 2,000 diapers up to the age of two; this equates to around $1,200.00 to $2,400.00 annually and has parents taking risky measures to stretch their diaper supply.

Diapers are considered a hygiene items so there isn't any government assistance programs designated to help with these costs. While cloth diapers may be an option, they require an initial investment of money that many low-income families can't afford. Cloth diapers must be cleaned, and many poor people don't have washing machines. Public laundries frequently prohibit customers from cleaning diapers. Most child care facilities won't allow parents to drop off children without an accompanying supply of disposable diapers which can prevent mothers from working or going to school, compelling families to remain mired in poverty.

"It is difficult to imagine that any parent would want to reuse a wet diaper, but the fact remains that 1 in 20 Americans struggling to purchase diapers admit they have cleaned out or reused a wet or soiled diaper. And in poor and low-income families, a baby can spend a day or longer in one diaper, leading to potential health risks and abuse. One baby abused is too many said Charmelle Scott Executive Director of BusiNeighbor Inc. This is an incredible opportunity for Georgians to create a community of healthy and safe babies. We want to use Georgia Gives Day to be a voice for babies and bring awareness to this very serious need."

BusiNeighbor Community Yard Sale to Benefit Diaper Drive Titled "Be a Voice for Babies"

Duluth, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/03/2013 -- BusiNeighbor Inc.is hosting a community yard sale will be held to raise funds to purchase 60,000 diapers to benefit Georgia families.

"I have heard so many heartbreaking stories of conditions where babies were left in soiled diapers, and parents who couldn't take their children to daycare because there were no diapers said Charmelle Scott, executive director of BusiNeighbor.
