A Hackney mother has single-handedly devised a programme to allow local children to rank and rate the best places in the area for school trips.

Dubbed Hackney Wow, the programme was co-helmed by Harrison, local poet Michael Rosen, and two hundred and forty pupils from Rushmore Primary School, the institution Minna's three daughters all attend. Other noteworthy figures of the area include artist Emily Tracy, illustrators Becky Baur and Liz Loveless and photographers Gideon Mendel and Crispin Hughes, all of whom joined along the way, making up an exciting and diverse working group. Their common goal was to devise a guide to Hackney made by kids and for kids, in order to ensure that school trips are always as interesting and exciting as they can be.

Funding for this initiative came chiefly from the Rushmore Parents' and Teachers' Association, with added money coming from the Big Lottery Fund. These donations allowed Ms Harrison and the children from the primary school to explore eleven locations around Hackney and unearth their lesser-known secrets, therefore proving that it is not always necessary to go a long away to have interesting school trips. Just miles from some of the best holiday villas in Sicily, archaeologists have discovered ancient anchors from the Punic Wars over two thousand years ago.

Cambridge, UK -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/05/2013 -- The Punic Wars that were fought more than two thousand years ago between Carthage and Rome proved that Rome was the most powerful empire in the world not once, but three times. Many relics from these ancient wars have been discovered throughout the Mediterranean, and recently something new has been discovered.

A few miles from the beautiful villas in Sicily, off the island of Pantelleria, archaeologists have discovered a cluster of about thirty or more of the ancient anchors. These anchors have been analyzed and are estimated to be about 2,000 years old. They were found between 160 and 270 feet below the water in Cala Levante, one of the most popular destinations for holiday makers staying in villas in Sicily. Pantelleria was centrally located between Sicily and Africa, so it became an important potential conquer for both of the empires during the third century B.C.

Head archaeologist Leonardo Abelli from the University of Sassari believes that these ancient maritime items are evidence of the Romans' and Carthaginians' century long battle to conquer the Mediterranean. He thinks that these anchors were abandoned on purpose by the Carthaginian ships trying to hide. By cutting the anchors, the navy could make a quick escape after the Romans moved in to retake the island of Pantelleria in the second Punic War.

Abelli's team also found many jars in groups of about 4-10 pieces near Punta Tracino, not far from where the anchors were found. Two years ago, Abelli's team also discovered about 3,500 Punic coins. The iconography suggested that the coins served as payment, possibly for the Roman troops.

This underwater research will continue until mid-July, so holiday makers staying in villas in Sicily might be able to see the archaeologists on their dives. This new discovery is such an achievement not only for archaeologist and historians, but also for the tourism industry. On the afternoon of May 20, 2013, an EF5 tornado, with peak winds estimated at 210 miles per hour, struck Moore, Oklahoma and adjacent areas, killing 24 people and injuring 377 others. The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management reported an estimated 1,150 homes were destroyed, and an estimated $2 billion in damages. Most areas in the path of the storm suffered catastrophic damage. Entire subdivisions were obliterated, and houses were flattened in a large swath of the city. In light of the sever devastation of these communities, the staff and leadership of TnHA jumped at the opportunity to help.
