Massachusetts' Ultra Safe Pest Management Is Committed to Hiring Our Heroes

The company has teamed up with the United States Chamber of Commerce to assist US veterans and spouses that are looking for new career opportunities in the field of Pest Control.

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/19/2014 -- The company has teamed up with the United States Chamber of Commerce to assist US veterans and spouses that are looking for new career opportunities in the field of Pest Control. A recent job-fair event was held in Plymouth Massachusetts and featured many local and national businesses. "This was our 2nd event within the last six months." said an 'Ultra Safe' company spokesperson. "We really enjoy meeting the Veterans and hearing their stories."

The company has successfully hired veterans in the past and plans to continue recruiting them. "We feel that many of these people have the skills and training to help them excel in the Pest and Wildlife Management Industry. "

The company is a good fit for many veterans because of the "mission-like" approach to pest control operations and also schedule flexibility. "We sometimes joke that instead of going after two-legged targets like before, we now need them to go after four, six and eight-legged targets." Ultra Safe offers flexible schedules, excellent benefit packages, company vehicles and more. "We will work around a veterans schedule and welcome active reservists as well as Military Spouses.

The company plans to fill two positions before April 1st. The first opportunity is for a 'Field Technician'. Ultra Safe Technicians are dispatched to customer accounts and properties to provide on-site services. They conduct thorough inspections and determine the cause of pest and problem animal activity. Next they implement a comprehensive plan of action known as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and provide follow-up visits until the problem is resolved long-term.

The second position is for a 'Customer Support Representative'. This is an office based position that handles incoming calls, emails, documentation, payment processing and communication between field workers and customers.

"We are planning on "building an army" of expert pest control and wildlife control operators."

Pest Control Company Launches Affordable Heat Treatment System That Can Eliminate Bed Bugs on Any Type of Property and Budget

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/03/2014 -- Bed bugs continue to be a big problem for many property managers, landlords and home owners in the Boston area. While the "bed bug boom" of recent times has leveled off a bit, the bloodsuckers are still a regular occurrence in many residential buildings and commercial properties.

Ultra Safe Pest Management has been on the front lines of bed bug remediation since the resurgence happened over a decade ago. The company is continuously exploring better technology, treatment methods and the equipment used to exterminate bed bugs and other pests around the city of Boston.

We caught up with Ultra Safe President Victor Palermo at the company's Boston Office located in the city's Allston-Brighton neighborhood. According to Palermo, this neighborhood was "one of the areas hardest hit with bed bug infestations in recent years. It has even been nicknamed, "Bed Bug Headquarters".

We asked Mr. Palermo what the motivation was for launching a new bed bug treatment system. He said "Heat or Thermal Remediation has been a valuable tool for pest professionals providing bed bug extermination services. The problem is, most of the heat treatment systems available are very expensive to own and operate which in turn drive up treatment cost. This has all but eliminated their use in low-income housing buildings, apartment complexes and other properties where the funds for this type of treatment might not be available.

In most of these cases the only option has been conventional pesticide based treatments. We felt that it was time for a treatment system that was environmentally responsible, effective and affordable to everyone".

The new system is called the Hot-Box and was designed by BedbugInc.com, an organization focused on providing innovative solutions to the Pest Management Industry. The Hot-Box is basically a highly portable thermal chamber. It can heat infested furniture, appliances, clothing and other personal items to 130 degrees F, a temperature that is lethal to all stages of bed bugs and their eggs.

"The Hot-Box system is much faster and safer than conventional propane or electric treatment systems. The cost to purchase and operate the system is also a fraction of what the other systems cost" said a spokesperson at Bedbuginc.com. "The cost savings are passed on to the end users like landlords, property managers, schools and homeowners."

Bedbuginc.com reports that the technology and design plan behind the Bed Bug Cell was based on case studies and research published by Scientists and Entomologists at the University of Florida in Gainesville. The study utilized rigid foam insulation and inexpensive household heaters. "We had the pleasure of meeting some of these folks at the University Of Florida's Entomology Department. That's where the idea to create this this system was first inspired. The Hot-Box is basically the same concept as those early test systems except it has been refined and constructed to be much more durable, powerful and easy for Pest Professionals to transport and operate onsite. The system is made in the USA.

The Hot-Box Bed Bug Treatment System Features

1). Lightweight yet durable construction design for easy transport and set-up
2). Reduces treatment preparation
3). High Efficiency Heaters that utilize standard 120v power supply and facilitate faster target temp times.
4). Easy to set-up around furniture and belongings compared to other systems that require items be moved into a chamber
5). Safety features and self-contained design reduces or even eliminates the need for expensive fire details, disarming of alarm systems and permit hassles
6). Affordable, only a fraction of what most bed bug heat treatment systems cost!

Ultra Safe Pest Introduces Rodent Control Task Force in Boston

City's Recent Rise In Rodent Activity Prompts Local Pest Control Company To Take Urban Rodent Control to a whole new level.

Boston, MA -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/12/2013 -- Pest professionals at Boston based Ultra Safe Pest Management are taking the recent spike in rodent activity very seriously. "We are treating this like an urgent public health matter because it is". according to Ultra Safe Staff Entomologist Victor Palermo. "I'm not saying to push the panic button but we do need to become more aware of the situation and take the appropriate action".

The rodents responsible for most of the increased activity according to Palermo are Norway Rats. "Although mice are very much a part of our daily work and still the 2nd most successful mammals next to humans, rats are on the rise in a big way".

Ultra Safe Pest has assembled a 'Rodent Control Task Force' to counter the recent activity surge. "It was becoming more evident that conventional trapping and baiting methods alone, do not provide long-term solutions. A more comprehensive approach involving heavier duty rodent exclusion, animal proofing and environmental changes are needed."

The 'Rodent Control Task Force' is made up of rodent specialists that are required to have a higher skill-set and are armed with more advanced equipment and materials when compared to the average pest control operator. "Not to take anything away from conventional PCOs, they work hard, but the rodent work we are doing now is a whole new game. Think of us like a Special Ops Team for rodent control and pest prevention".

The team focus is to provide and often times execute modifications and changes typically left up to the property manager of land lord to get taken care of. "It's amazing to me how much we have to rely on the customer to succeed at our job. While we will always need cooperation from everyone involved, assuming that our customer or other hired handyman can handle rat-proofing a property, can be a recipe for failure. Rats are adaptive and persistent pests. Ordinary materials and repairs won't get the job done".

Ultra Safe's Rodent Control Specialists are equipped to tackle the required extra work and finish with professional results. " Whether it's installing rodent-proof door sweeps, fabricating custom animal-proof trash enclosures or cementing up holes in a foundation, we are equipped to do it right the first time. We even have a rodent-proof fabric that we install under landscape beds, exterior perimeters, patios and places that rats normally burrow. We not only create a complete site-specific plan of action, we help the customer execute it".

In addition to providing these extra services, Ultra Safe has a high-tech operating system that keeps track of the whole process and documents everything in detail. "We want to make sure our customers are protected and in compliance with local health regulations and management practices".
