What surprises most is to learn that in his downtime, Butler spends countless hours training canines and recently founded his own company, Alpha Dog Training, with his brother Ken Butler III. <br />

Growing up, Brett and his brother Ken had dogs of their own.  "Having a dog in the family provides numerous benefits," explained Ken, "reports have shown that children with dogs in their lives while growing up are prone to be more emotionally and physically healthy". After visiting &apos;kill facilities&apos;, or animal shelters that euthanize unwanted or deemed &apos;unadoptable&apos; dogs many times due to bad behavior, Brett wanted to help them. There he learned tricks of the trade, from breed knowledge, canine care, kennel management and basic and advanced obedience training. Brett returned to Atlanta and opened up Alpha Dog Training with Ken in the summer of 2009, where they offer a three-week boot camp for dogs.  In the boot camp, canines are taught commands like heel, sit, stay, down, come and place, in any language including French, Belgian, Dutch, or German.  Alpha Dog Training&apos;s goal is to reach basic obedience where the owner has 100% control of the dog.  They also train canines in narcotics to have the ability to recognize and find illegal drugs. <br />

      <title>Brett Butler Shines Despite Obstacles</title>

This Friday at the Nashville Superspeedway, all were reminded of this when Rick Ware Racing driver Brett Butler was injured while racing his Fuel Doctor "Go Green" Machine in the Nashville 200.  <br />
<br />
In the first lap of Saturday&apos;s race, another driver hit the wall leaving debris scattered over the track.  Following closely behind was #47 Fuel Doctor driver, Brett Butler.   While Butler was able to avoid the collision, he did not go unscathed.  Unable to circumvent the debris, Butler ran through the wreckage causing a flat tire and some serious damage to his truck.  "As soon as I got into turn one the right rear tire blew out and so did the firewall" explained Butler.  The firewall is vital to a driver, not only keeping out debris, but also hazardous heat and fumes, out of the driver&apos;s car. Without the firewall, fiberglass from the wreckage flew into Butler&apos;s eyes, face and hands. <br />
<br />
At lap 40, Butler pulled into the pit for repairs to his truck and to try wipe some of the glass shards from his eyes. Concerned, Butler&apos;s family and crew members encouraged Butler to receive medical attention but unwavering Butler returned to the track.  Butler could be heard over the radio "It hurts real bad, I&apos;m hot, my face is cut up, but I&apos;m not gonna stop, my job is to support Rick Ware Racing and my sponsor Fuel Doctor".  The essence of Brett Butler can be wrapped up in what he said next, "I&apos;m running this thing to the finish".  While he sustained injuries and burns, Butler got in his "Go Green" Machine and finished the 120 laps with his team, family, fans and sponsors cheering him on.  <br />

Courage, skill and determination kept Butler going during the tumultuous race on Friday night.  "You always ride it out because you never know what&apos;s going to happen," Butler said.  <br />
<br />
Brett was immediately taken to the hospital to receive treatment for carbon monoxide poisoning as well as severe lacerations to his face and hands.  Doctor&apos;s had to vacuum the microscopic fiberglass particles out of Brett&apos;s skin and eyes.  He also was put on oxygen for days due to the severe levels of carbon monoxide intake. Released hours later, doctors said Butler would make a full recovery.  Now home recuperating, Butler is already looking forward to his next race in NASCAR&apos;s Camping World Series. <br />

A part of the Rick Ware Racing team, Brett drove in his &apos;Fuel Doctor: Go Green Machine" in a race that marked his career high in NASCAR. "I feel really great about our performance at Daytona, and to now race at Atlanta, my home track, I think we can back that up" stated Butler. Born and raised in Snellville, Georgia, Butler has been racing since the age of fifteen and has worked his way from go-carts to NASCAR&apos;s Camping World Truck Series in less than ten years. The show&apos;s coveted "2010 Show Poster," entitled "Bejeweled" was designed by painter, Robin Lee Makowski.  <br />
