Currently volunteers are needed in the areas of Medical, Teaching and Women's Support. Despite recent legal progress in women's rights in Nepal, discrimination in education and work opportunity persists in practice. Volunteers will work with local women's groups teaching English, and teaching sustainable solutions to women's challenges in Nepal by training women in income generating skills. Medical and nursing students will gain first hand experience in Nepal dealing with health problems common to developing countries. Work in out-patient departments and casualty rooms will give access to a variety of clinical cases.

Philadelphia, PA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/01/2013 -- As a volunteer organization connecting volunteers with programs around the world, A Broader View announces upcoming projects in Colombia. Volunteers are needed to provide daily child care services, pre-school and kindergarten classes for infants and small children in Cartagena. This will be in the Torices neighborhood close to the downtown area and the airport.

Another social welfare program involved in supporting children in Colombia is located in the beach community of La Boquilla, located about 25-30 minutes from downtown Cartegena. This is a fishing community and volunteers will work in a center supporting over 300 children aged from toddlers to 15 years old. The focus of the center is to improve the lives of children and work on the prevention of child trafficking into the sex trade. Focus will be given to girls health education and empowerment. Volunteers will be responsible for serving meals, working primary school lessons, helping with homework and facilitating monthly health checks.

Spanish fluency is a requirement for volunteers seeking placement in the programs in the Cartegena area.

Currently, volunteers are needed to serve in sea turtle conservation programs in the Caribbean and the Pacific. Those volunteers choosing to serve in programs in the Caribbean will be working in the National Parks of Costa Rica. Sea turtle preservation includes having volunteers monitor and register nesting patterns, record keeping of eggs, moving eggs to the hatchery, beach patrols and freeing newborns to the ocean. The Pacific sea turtle conservation program for volunteers is located in Guanacaste, about 10 miles from the town of Samana. This is a very secluded location which requires 4/4 vehicles and boats to access the program area. This is also part of the National Parks of Costa Rica. Help is needed from volunteers because of budget cutbacks in the country's national park system.
