Sally Symonds Reveals - 50 Ways to Weight Loss Motivation

Sherwood, Queensland -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/01/2013 -- "If you can get your head into gear, your butt will soon follow. The key to weight loss success is consistency, and the key to consistency is motivation. This book teaches you how to motivate your way to success – because once you've found your weight loss why, you'll easily find your weight loss how" – Sally Symonds

An incredible 96% of people who lose weight eventually regain it. Why? Because the weight loss industry thrives on failure. Everyone knows how to lose weight – eat better and exercise more – but all you lose on a diet or exercise plan is money. Thankfully, weight loss expert Sally Symonds has a solution: her latest book, 50 Ways to Weight-Loss Motivation, shows you how to achieve the right mindset to win your weight-loss war.

"Any fitness expert who tells you that you don't need to be motivated to lose weight, you just need to be consistent, obviously has no idea what it really feels like to struggle with your size," says Sally. Motivation is the key to consistency, and consistency is the key to weight loss success.

50 Ways to Weight-Loss Motivation tells you how to get started and stay focused on your weight loss journey. Sally's groundbreaking insights reveal how you too can become one of the elusive 4% of people who enjoy long-term weight loss success.

"My book features over 50 motivational tools, tips, and tricks that helped me lose 53.5 kg and keep it off for a decade, and that my clients have used to lose – and keep off – thousands of kilograms as well," Sally reveals. "Unconventional? Yes! Effective? Most definitely!"

Sally's secret? Ditch the diets and exercise regimes: they simply don't work for long-term weight loss. "The fastest way to lose weight is to do it once, so you'll never have to do it again. Plans and programs don't work because they're short-term "band-aids" whose effects melt once they are over," Sally asserts. "They don't change how you think and feel about healthy living, which is why people's weight rebounds and their weight problems recur. If you want to effortlessly keep the weight off once you've lost it you need a forever-solution, not a quick-fix or short-term "solution"".

"Anyone who tells you that you can break the unhealthy habits of years, decades or even a whole lifetime in a something like a 10 or 12-week challenge is just in it for the money and short-term results, not long-term client satisfaction," Sally points out.

Despite the continued popularity of short-term plans and programs, Australia remains one of the fattest nations on earth; but this is a problem we can solve. Significantly, a huge 50% of the people on the National Weight Control Registry (the only database of people who have lost a lot of weight and kept it off for a long time) lost their weight without the aid of plans and programs. If the plans, diets and 12-week challenges actually did work, the diet industry wouldn't be enjoying the $52 billion it generated last year alone.

Sally's book of amazing and inspirational techniques is designed to help readers uncover their own motivational strategies for success. "Most people who are overweight aren't lazy – they're just motivationally challenged. This books is like the Wizard of Oz," she says, "helping people unleash what's already inside them, waiting to break free".

50 Ways to Weight Loss Motivation is a creative and user-friendly guide to healthy living that gives you real life solutions for finding which healthy habits work best for you on a practical, physical and psychological level. With this book, you'll learn how to lose weight…and love the process.

50 Ways to Weight-Loss Motivation reveals:

- How to transform yourself from an exercise-loather to an exercise-lover

- Developing your emergency emotional eating toolkit

- How to avoid being a slave to the scales by weighing yourself more

- Why you should shun SMART goals, calorie counting and 12 week challenges

- The Goldilocks approach to weight loss

50+ Recipes to Lose 50+Kg . . . And Keep It off - $29.95

Ditch the diets, learn to LOVE great food and watch the weight fall off...for good!

Sherwood, Queensland -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/23/2013 -- It's time to ditch the diets and embrace good eating with fast, healthy filling meals that are easy-to-prepare – that's the word from best-selling author, Sally Symonds. Sally is back with her second book, "50+ Recipes to Lose 50+kg . . . And Keep it Off" which officially launches today.

Sally received a huge amount of publicity when she launched her first best-selling book, "50 Steps to Lose 50kg . . . And Keep it Off" back in September 2010 and her latest book is set to be just as popular.

"After the success of my first book, I'd lost count of how many people around Australia have contacted me asking me exactly what I eat and how I managed to work out what's the best thing to buy when I'm out shopping for food," says Sally. "So this book details the recipes I devised to lose over 50kg – and they're easy to prepare – most of them in as little as ten minutes!"

In addition to the 100+ delicious, healthy recipes that helped Sally lose weight, she also gives readers the general guidelines behind her approach to food, why diets don't work for long-term weight loss, and why most people who do lose weight eventually regain it. The book also offers an easy to follow guide to the role hormones play in weight loss.

"So many people think weight loss and healthy eating is all about a strict diet, portion control, calorie counting and the 'everything in moderation approach'," says Sally. "But in my experience none of these things work in the long term because they don't balance the physical, psychological and practical aspects of our lives." While Sally's approach does include ten rules that she lives by everyday, they are rules that you can break and still achieve success with - provided you create equivalent alternatives that work for you in all three levels of your life.

Sally introduces readers to proven-to-work approaches to food, healthy eating and healthy living and also includes extracts from the food diaries she kept throughout her weight loss journey. Her approach will help you lose weight for good and eat guilt-free forever.

"I help readers get real about weight loss and shift their focus from what they should do to what they can do now to succeed in dropping the weight for good," says Sally. "But it's not all about pain and suffering – quite the opposite actually, and I'm proof of it. I've lost over 50kg - it's still off - and it's never coming back!"
Eventually losing over 50% of her original body weight, she is one of the few healthy life educators with personal experience in significant weight loss. Indeed, to put Sally's weight loss in perspective, only one of Australia's "Biggest Losers" – Bob Herdsman (2009) – has a bigger weight loss percentage. A qualified personal trainer and NLP (neuro-lingustic programming) practitioner, Sally now works with individuals and corporations who want to change their lives – and health – for the better. Through her individual consultations, workplace training programs and online wellness coach services, she helps transform the minds and bodies of everyday people around the world. She is also a highly sought-after motivational and inspirational speaker.

- Revelations about the reliability of the %DI, food pyramid and nutrition information panels in relation to weight loss
- An explanation of what healthy food badges (such as the Heart Foundation Tick, Low GI label and Treatwise) actually mean, as well as their effects upon us as consumers
- Why most people suffer from psychological "diet baggage" without even realizing it
- How society's shifting norms invite us to ignore our growing girths
- The key to successful healthy eating – how you can eat more, but weigh less

Sally Symonds Reveals - 50 Steps to Lose 50 Kg ... and Keep It Off

Sherwood, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/15/2013 -- "The mind is really important – everyone knows what to do, they just don't know how to stick to it. My book tells you what I did that enabled me to lose 53kg and keep it off." Sally Symonds

Alarmingly, 95% of people who lose weight eventually regain it. Sally Symonds knows what it feels like to get to the point where you can't ignore your weight any more. Like most, she knew how to lose weight, eat better and exercise more – the difficult part was actually doing it and sticking to it.

Her inspiring new book, 50 Steps to Lose 50kg…And Keep It Off reveals how she initially lost 45kg in 33 weeks, maintained that weight loss for over five years, and then went on to lose even more!

"My book outlines the exact steps I took and the changes I made – to my food intake, exercise and mind – in order to transform from the food obsessed, exercising loathing workaholic I was then to the food loving, exercise loving, work balanced person I am now," Sally said.

"I didn't do anything gimmicky. I didn't set goals. I didn't make myself accountable to anyone by announcing my intentions or getting myself an exercise buddy. I devised my own interpretation of portion size and I DID reward myself with food along the way. I broke all the rules (including the one about how quickly you can lose weight and keep it off), but I did it. And others can too."

In 2002 Sally wasn't just overweight, she was morbidly obese and after a series of events she put the chocolate down and decided her life needed to change.

As a successful professional, lack of confidence wasn't the issue for Sally; her career was all that mattered and she was far too busy for health and fitness. However, after investing so much in her career, when Sally was turned down for a promotion she was devastated.

"I was working all the hours under the sun which meant I had no social life. My long-term partner and I separated because I was always at work. I didn't get the promotion I had worked so hard for and I knew I was dangerously overweight," Sally said.

"The final push came when a family friend died from a preventable cancer and someone commented that they could have changed their fate if they had wanted to. I sat there and thought it's not too late – I can change my life, and so I did."

Sally's book is a truly inspiring step-by-step account of how she lost over 50% of her initial bodyweight and downsized from 106.5kg to 53kg. Her tips and tricks are innovative yet practical and achievable and work the body and mind to achieve a balanced, fitter and healthier end result.

Throwing out all of the traditional weight loss rules, 50 Steps to Lose 50 kg…And Keep It Off, provides a self-paced approach to weight loss and navigates the reader through every step of the process. There are no faddy meal plans, no 24/7 exercise routines and no magic shakes – all you need is yourself, the book and the mindset for success.

From Couch Potato to Hot Chilli Woman: Bridging the Gap Between All or Nothing Weight Loss

Queensland, Australia -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/04/2013 -- When Sally Symonds began her weight loss journey in 2002, one of her first challenges was incorporating exercise into her life. Sally knew she wasn't going to jump straight off the couch into an aerobics class – her exercise plan needed to be fun and achievable for the 106.5 kg Sally, not the 53 kg Sally she eventually became. By shaping her weight loss plan to her needs at each stage in the journey, she was able to morph from someone who hated exercise into a new fit version of herself.

'I went from super fat to super fit by adapting some of the best protocols from top strength and conditioning coaches around the world into strategies that beginners can use to make exercise a lot more interesting – and effective!' Sally Symonds

Sally's online weight loss system, 'Love Your Weight Loss', gives her clients convenient and personal access to all of Sally's expertise and guidance. The system tackles weight loss one step at a time, just like Sally did herself. Sally knows it is important to meet people where they currently are on the 'Ladder of Commitment'. The average non-exerciser begins at the bottom in a state of near helplessness and needs to climb the rungs of awareness, experimentation, enjoyment, empowerment, improvement and accomplishment, before they can even think about making exercise a regular part of their life.

'Most weight loss plans and programs are aimed far too high up the ladder of commitment for the average person to follow. They are designed by people who have always been fit and healthy for people who are already fairly fit and healthy which sadly, most of us aren't.' Sally Symonds

Most of Sally's clients have tried countless weight loss 'diets' and programs and feel like failures. Sally's system works because it turns traditional weight loss rules inside out. She gives the choice and control back to the person losing the weight. Sally incorporated the key drivers that motivational experts around the world agree upon, in shaping her weight loss system. Clients need not worry that they won't be able to stick to the system or that it won't work for them because they are, in a sense, making their own weight loss system guided by her strategies.

'The typical weight loss company directs 80% of their budget towards marketing and only 20% towards product development.' Sally Symonds

That statistic alone should clue Australians in on the fact that there is something very wrong with the weight loss industry. Helping people to actually lose weight, and keep it off, isn't profitable – sadly, failure and desperation to try anything, is! Sally reaches out through the web to show people that weight loss doesn't have to be an expensive and time consuming chore – it can actually be fun and rewarding.

'Too many people think that weight loss is all about painful and punishing exercise routines and demoralising deprivation diets. That's simply not the case. In fact, these are actually two of the main reasons why people can't stick to losing weight.' Sally Symonds

'Love Your Weight Loss' moves beyond traditional weight loss rules, plans, and programs. To achieve weight loss success, Sally educates her clients in:

- Neuromuscular stimulation and why it's the key to maintaining weight loss momentum
- How to use sensory specific satiety and sensory confusion to change eating habits
- The art of controlling emotional eating
- How to use the Zeigarnik effect to help with weight loss
- The right way to use 'rewards' – and it's not for losing weight! 'Love Your Weight Loss' has lots of prizes from its sponsors: Tanita, Aussie Bodies, Slim Pasta, Cheeki and AOK.

About Sally Symonds
After completing a BA (Hons), MA, ASDA & LSDA, Sally pursued a career as a speech and drama teacher. Sally was morbidly obese and her life revolved around her work. After the loss of a family friend and being overlooked for a promotion at work, Sally had the wakeup call she needed to start losing weight.

One of the primary reasons why Sally is so successful in helping overweight people today is because she's been there. Not many weight loss 'experts' have actual experience in what it's like to be morbidly obese. Sally is also living proof that it is possible to not only lose 50% body weight, but to also keep it off long-term.

In the words of one of Sally's clients, 'What I love about Sally's system is that it is based on her own real-life weight loss.'

Sally is now the owner of Sally Symonds Healthy Life Mentor. She has enjoyed great success, including presenting many motivational and inspirational talks, and the sale of her three very popular books: 50 Steps to Lose 50 kg … And Keep It Off; 50+ Recipes to Lose 50+ kg … And Keep It Off; and 50 Ways to Weight-Loss Motivation.
