Gravis Marketing : When Asked Whether They Preferred a Generic Tea Party Candidate over the Incumbent Senator John Cornyn III (R-Texas), Texas Republicans Favored the Tea Party Candidate, According to a Recent Poll of GOP Voters

Automated IVR Poll

Winter Springs, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/01/2013 -- When asked whether they preferred a generic Tea Party candidate over the incumbent Senator John Cornyn III (R-Texas), Texas Republicans favored the Tea Party candidate, according to a recent poll of conservative voters. The poll which was conducted by Gravis Marketing polled 563 registered Republican voters in the state of Texas. Only 33 percent of those polled chose to support Cornyn in a hypothetical primary race against a generic Tea Party candidate while 46 percent chose the generic Tea Party candidate.

In a series of additional questions, the poll named several possible politicians who could face off with Cornyn in a primary race, but none of these politicians garnered the support that the generic Tea Party candidate did. The enthusiastic support for a generic Tea Party candidate over any established members of the Republic party highlights a growing rift in the Republican party, a rift that some have called a "civil war".

The poll continued to question voters about several issues that may define the difference between Tea Party supporters and traditional supporters of the Republican party. When asked about amnesty for illegal aliens, 81 percent of those polled replied that they do not support amnesty, and 79 percent of those polled were eager to support the push against Obamacare.

The recent shift among Republican voters toward more conservative viewpoints was expressed in two of the poll's questions that focused on Cornyn. When asked if Cornyn understood the problems of "regular" Texans, 39 percent of respondents said that he did not. Over a third of respondents (36 percent) reported that Cornyn is less conservative than he was six years ago.

Whether Cornyn changed or the voter base did was inclusive in this poll, but the respondents' answers highlight a hunger for voters to see more conservative candidates like the generic Tea Party candidate. The fact that voters also seemed to identify more with a Tea Party candidate than an established Republican candidate underscores the idea that voters may feel closer to candidates who are part of a so-called grassroots movement like the Tea Party.

The full results of this poll October 26 poll are available at http://gravismarketing.com/gravis-marketing-poll-ivr/

Conducted by Gravis Marketing and Human Events, a conservative news outlet, this poll had a three percent margin of error. Gravis Marketing is a Florida-based polling organization that was founded in 2010. Gravis Marketing polls have been included with other groups of polls gathered by Real Clear Politics.
Early Poll Numbers: Nebraska US Senate Primary

Gravis Marketing Poll

Winter Springs, FL -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/09/2013 -- Gravis Marketing has announced the results of a random survey of 1,842 registered Nebraska voters, conducted on September 6 and September 7, 2013. Survey criteria required that all poll participants must have voted in at least one Republican primary.

The chase for U.S. Senate opened wide the moment Republican Governor Dave Heineman announced his decision to opt out of the race. The GOP now seeks the strongest possible candidate to replace retiring Senator Mike Johanns.

Poll results gave Ex-State Treasurer, businessman and Navy veteran Shane Osborn a lead at 41 percent. Banker Sid Dinsdale trailed at 7 percent, followed at 5 percent by Midland University President and Ex-US Assistant HHS Secretary Ben Sasset. Attorney Bart McLeay received 2 percent.

More telling perhaps is the fact that 44 percent of poll participants were unsure of which candidate they supported. That could be due, in part, to a problem with name recognition. Pollster questions indicated that 91 percent of participants did not recognize Dinsdale's name, 81 percent did not know Sasse, and 86 percent were unsure of who McLeay was.

The poll carries an error margin of 2.2 percent.

Gravis Marketing is an award-winning leader in contact center technology solutions. Founded in 2010 by Doug Kaplan, an expert in turnkey advertising, Gravis provides the latest in telephony and political advertising for political campaigns. Kaplan appears regularly on the Carmen Russell-Sluchansky segment of Campaign Connection on 1430 AM in New York City and 1390 AM in the Washington DC area. He is also featured on the Ed Dean Show in Orlando and is an official pollster for Capitol Correspondents in Washington DC.

His company serves campaigns, consultants, and nonprofit organizations around the world. It is Kaplan's breath of experience in the marketing industry that allows his team to provide world-class service in the most cost-effective way possible. While some campaigns cling to the old way of doing things, Gravis helps move its clients into the 21st century, taking advantage of cutting-edge technology in order to help create name recognition and goodwill for the campaign.

It is clear that no matter which candidate eventually wins the nomination, he will face an opponent who comes into the race with greater name recognition. Democratic Brad Ashford is a State Senator and was an Omaha mayoral candidate in 2013. Ashford was also formerly an active Republican. Candidate Chris Beutler is the mayor of Lincoln, and Mike Meister is an attorney, Army veteran, 2002 Attorney General nominee and 2010 Nominee for Governor. Democrat Kim Robak is an attorney, Ex-Lieutenant Governor of Nebraska, as well as the Ex-Chancellor of the University of Nebraska. Independent David Christopher Holcomb is an attorney, and is recognized for his 2012 run for U.S. President.

Given the weight of farming, industrial, and energy issues currently facing the state of Nebraska, the eventual winner is going to enter an office full of demands. Gravis Marketing will continue their polling efforts as the race continues.
Gravis Marketing Poll: Half of GOP Voters in Boehner's District Welcome Primary Challenge to Speaker

Poll Results Could Spell Trouble For Speaker John Boehner

Winter Springs, FL -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/09/2013 -- Gravis Poll Give Boehner a Wake-Up Call More than 1,120 Ohio voters responded to a survey conducted by Human Events and Gravis Marketing on September 4th. Half of the respondents reported they would welcome a challenger to House Speaker John Boehner in the 2014 congressional race. Respondents were registered Republican voters living in Boehner's district.

Doug Kaplan, CEO at Gravis Marketing, a non-partisan research firm, reports the survey reached about twice as many voters than are normally polled in a single district, giving the poll results a margin of error of just two percent.

Key findings include:

Almost two in three (65 percent) want the Speaker to take steps to defund Obamacare even though it could lead to a government shutdown.

The same number want Boehner to call for a special inquiry into the September 11, 2012 attack in Benghazi.

Some 45 percent reported Boehner was not effective in advancing conservative issues, while 22 percent disagreed.

On issues of taxing and spending 48 percent reported the Speaker is not doing enough to rein in the economy.

The poll covered a range of topics designed to reveal voter sentiment on topics ranging from Illegal immigration – a leftist group known as "Undocumented Ohio" won state approval in August for taxpayers to subsidize illegal immigrants' college costs – to opinions on providing military support to the Syrian rebels. On that topic 54 percent opposed U.S. involvement, while 29 percent were undecided and 17 percent were in favor.
