Real Estate Marketing Secrets 140 Characters at a Time

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/10/2014 -- Many realtors believe effective real estate marketing involves expensive Google pay-per-click ads and costly direct mail campaigns. But, according to Michael Smythe, author of the Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century series, some of the best lead-generation methods realtors can use involve a free tool that requires less than 140 characters at a time: Twitter.

"A lot of realtors are scared of Twitter. Or just think it's a waste of time," says Smythe. "But when used properly, Twitter can be one of the most cost-effective ways for realtors to find new leads."

That's why Smythe took it upon himself to create a special resource on Pinterest - "another great place for realtors to do marketing" - that features some of his best tips in using Twitter for real estate marketing.

"Facebook users don't like marketers to intrude. But Twitter is different," says Smythe. "You can enter a conversation and provide real value to folks."

Best of all, says Smythe, there are many automated tools that make it simpler than ever.

"I know it doesn't feel like it, but this is the best time ever to launch your real estate marketing plans. I consider it my job to help realtors realize that."

Twitter Real Estate Marketing Guide Helps Realtors Tweet Their Way to Better Leads

Real estate marketing guru Michael Smythe shares the secret to successful real estate selling on Twitter

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/19/2014 -- With an abundance of do-it-yourself real estate websites popping up almost daily, it is increasingly difficult for realtors to find quality leads and get interested buyers to walk through the door at open houses. According to real estate marketing guru Michael Smythe, Twitter is a powerful, untapped resource most realtors have not even considered to help them attract new clients. His audiobook Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Twitter Marketing for Realtors urges realtors to take a serious look at the marketing benefits of tweeting.

"I love Twitter as a marketing tool," says Smythe. "It's quick. It's easy and it can be automated easily. If you find a message that resonates with people you can get on the radar of thousands of people really fast."

In one hour and fifteen minutes, Smythe's clever and engaging audiobook teaches realtors how to pinpoint the right marketing message and condense it into Twitter's 150-character format.

"This is awesome!" says social media marketer Olivia Zan. "I've just launched a real estate client on Twitter and there are some tips in this book that I'll be putting in place today."

Smythe's Twitter guide is part of a three-book real estate marketing series, which includes Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Video Marketing for Realtors and Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Facebook Marketing for Realtors. Yet, YouTube remains an untapped resource for many agents. "Of all the forms of social media that I've used and I've used them all none generates leads faster, cheaper or more efficiently than video marketing," says Smythe.
With YouTube now serving as the second largest search engine in the world, realtors who have a video marketing presence have a greater chance of attracting potential buyers and growing their network of leads. Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Video Marketing for Realtors, shares Smythe's best tips, tricks, and short cuts for successfully creating, editing, publishing and promoting quality videos.

Real Estate Marketing Guru Helps Realtors Use Facebook to Bring Their Marketing Efforts Into the 21st Century

Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Facebook Marketing for Realtors is second installment in Smythe’s real estate marketing series

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/19/2014 -- In today's competitive real estate market, smart realtors agree that they need some type of Facebook presence to connect with new leads and build a network of interested home buyers. Unfortunately, many have no clue how to successfully implement a Facebook marketing strategy that doesn't feel like an overt sales pitch. In Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Facebook Marketing for Realtors, real estate marketing specialist Michael Smythe teaches realtors how to effectively use Facebook as a relationship-building tool.

"As realtors we aren't selling widgets or refrigerators or iPhone adapters," says Smythe. "We are selling our experience. And when it comes to the touchy-feely world of marketing relationships nothing works quite as well as Facebook."

Smythe's 66-minute audiobook walks realtors through the ins and outs of Facebook marketing, including what to post, when to post, how to post, how to get fans, and how to use their time on Facebook as efficiently as possible.

"Whether you're selling real estate or widgets, the marketing tips employed in this book are a goldmine for anyone interested in Facebook marketing," says realtor Lisa S.

Can a 90-Second Video Save Your Real Estate Marketing?

In his new book, Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Video Marketing for Realtors, Michael Smythe shows realtors how to turn simple YouTube videos and smartphone confessionals into new leads and higher commissions.

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/27/2014 -- Real estate marketing used to involve little more than fridge magnet calendars and direct mail flyers. (Which usually ended up in the trash.)

But then an amazing thing thing happened in 2008: streaming video became as commonplace as a Lindsay Lohan arrest. Which, according to Michael Smythe, author of "Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Video Marketing for Realtors," gave realtors their best marketing tool since the Saturday open house.

"Video is powerful because it's so damn personal," says Smythe, a realtor himself. "All the banner ads and billboard signs and cold-calling in the world can't beat a simple 90-second video where a realtor talks directly to the camera."

So, why aren't realtors by the droves boosting their business with online video. Well, Smythe believes there's a couple reasons.

The newness of video, for one: "We've barely scratched the surface of what video marketing can do for us realtors."

As well as the intimidation factor: "A lot of people get hung up in the technology, and find writing a blog post easier."

But perhaps the biggest reason realtors haven't stepped up to the video marketing plate is that they don't quite know what to say. "Most realtors have tried posting a few videos on YouTube, only to find little success," says Smythe. "That's because they're in sales mode. Wrong approach! Teach people cool insider tricks...and they'll think you're a cool person. (And somebody they want to handle their real estate duties.)"

In his new tome, part of an existing series on Real Estate Marketing, offers simple tips and strategies for how to find the right gear, how to film videos fast, and how to promote them to a huge audience.

But really, as Smythe points out, doing anything with video will be better than most of the competition. "Most people won't do videos because they're scared. Be vulnerable, teach people what you know on video, and you can't be stopped."

Real Estate Marketing on Facebook - How to Convert Fans Into Cash

The good ole’ days of real estate marketing were demolished with the housing market in 2007. Yet realtors still insist on picking through the debris of antiquated paper ads and over saturated web pages, to find the key to marketing success.

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/21/2014 -- In "Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century - Facebook Marketing for Realtors," Michael Smythe shows realtors that Facebook isn't just a place to find out which version of Mafia Wars your friends are playing...

But is a way to make your real-estate marketing efforts fast, easy, and profitable.

[How to Make Money on Facebook]

According to Smythe, it's time to forget all the real estate marketing tips you learned 10 years ago. "I tried direct mail," says Smythe. "Nearly went bankrupt. And Google Pay per click has really spotty results. The cheapest (and easiest) way to target new leads is adding Facebook into your Real Estate marketing mix.)

He calls Facebook a, "hugely profitable lead generation machine," that you can use to siphon Facebook traffic into your email list.

If done right.

Smythe believes you can't just put random stuff on Facebook asking people to "like" you. ("Nobody cars about you.") Instead, you have to have the right combination of free takeaways, automated email messages, and weekly newsletters to help grow your clientele...and your commissions.

[Why Most People Don't Use Facebook With Their Real Estate Marketing]

This isn't to say using Facebook is easy. As Smythe points out, "Facebook keeps changing its policies every few seconds, which can make it difficult to know what to do, and what not to do."

But by giving people what they want -- "People's #1 favorite topic is always themselves" -- you'll find a constantly renewable source of new leads that can help keep you poised for whatever the 21st century has to offer.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Michael Smythe
Publisher
The Well Fed Realtor
Telephone: 310-751-0343
Email: Click to Email Michael Smythe
Web: http://wellfedrealtor.com

Real Estate Marketing Success, 140 Characters at a Time

New real estate marketing guide shows realtors how to use Twitter to boost their customer base and thoroughly rule the world.

San Diego, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/30/2013 -- Real estate marketing doesn't have to require thousands of dollars of ad spend and hours upon hours of effort and energy. According to Michael Smythe, author of Real Estate Marketing in the 21st Century: Twitter Marketing for Realtors, all it takes is embracing the often-overlooked and (mostly abused) social media platform, Twitter.

The key is to do it in a way that sets you as a realtor apart.

"Most realtors are really smart and interesting people. But they usually suck when it comes to Twitter," said Smythe. "They talk about themselves, over and over again. Nobody cares about you. But they do care about how you can teach them cool, insider stuff."

And what kind of cool, insider stuff can realtors teach? Well, stuff about buying and selling houses, of course.

But, as Smythe illustrates in his book, these insider strategies don't have to be ground-breaking, they just have to help people save time, money or both.

"As a realtor, you know a ton of stuff that most real estate civilians don't have a clue about," said Smythe. "Just share little tidbits here and there and you will stand out from the rest of the realtors out there who keep tweeting about their latest property listing."

That's because, as Smythe reiterates, as a realtor "you aren't selling properties, you're selling expertise and hand-holding. Show 'em you can do both, and you'll absolutely crush it on Twitter."

But how do you get those tons of Twitter followers who you can eventually turn into customers. Smythe says it's not rocket science: just simple, steady Twitter following principles repeated over and over again.

"You just got to follow the followers of high-profile local Twitter accounts in your area. Keep following, wait for them to follow you back, and before you know it you'll have thousands of Twitter followers."

And while there's no guarantee each new Twitter follower will turn into a customer.
