When over 200 Saks Fifth Avenue Employees Are Laid Off, Using EmploymentCrossing.com Can Help

The lay offs will begin at the end of the month according to the New York Department of Labor. For the most part, these jobs are being moved to a brand new fulfillment center located in Tennessee for saks.com.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/30/2012 -- Things aren't looking so good for employees of the Aberdeen distribution center at Saks Fifth Avenue. In fact, the company is set to lay off 223 employees, the equivalent of about one third of its workforce.

The lay offs will begin at the end of the month according to the New York Department of Labor. For the most part, these jobs are being moved to a brand new fulfillment center located in Tennessee for saks.com. More jobs are expected to leave the Aberdeen location.

For the most part, the employees have been caught off guard by this news. Thankfully, they are being provided with assistance for finding a new job as well as separation packages. Even so, that doesn't really make the blow any less painful. Thankfully, there are sites like EmploymentCrossing.com that make finding a job much easier, even in this troubled economy.

At the moment, there are over 100,000 customer service jobs on the site, so finding one position in your area shouldn't be too difficult. Plus, these positions often don't get as many applications as jobs posted on job boards, giving you a leg up on the competition.

Though the site is subscription based it's well worth it because you'll get access to less popular positions and be given the chance to have your resume viewed and considered more carefully.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
employmentresearchinstitute
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Use EmploymentCrossing.com to Find Work when Employers Like Adventist Healthcare Lay off Nearly 100 Workers

These people may be out of a job soon and they'll be thrust back into the job market. This means more competition in an already overcrowded job search market.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/14/2012 -- Even though the economy as a whole is improving slightly, it's still not fantastic, as evidenced by recent layoffs made by Adventist Healthcare. Based in Maryland, Adventist Healthcare had to layoff people due to action that's anticipated to lower hospital rates in the state.

The company said they'd be eliminating less than 100 jobs in an announcement made last week. However, it's unclear from what areas of service these jobs will come from. They also blame the economy in general for the need for layoffs.

These people may be out of a job soon and they'll be thrust back into the job market. This means more competition in an already overcrowded job search market. Even so, there are ways to find work out there but it's extra important to make use of all the resources available. EmploymentCrossing.com is one such resource.

This site provides comprehensive job listings across all industries for a nominal fee. In fact, at this point in time, the site lists 373,449 jobs in the healthcare sector alone.

They offer a subscription service to job applicants so they can gain access to a larger pool of open positions than is typically possible. Often, these jobs aren't listed on job boards, so there will be less competition and those eager to find a job will have more luck with each application.

By keeping EmploymentCrossing.com in mind, people laid off at Adventist Healthcare and other companies will have more luck in finding a job that's perfect for them.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
Employmentcrossing.com
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Increased U.S. Manufacturing in March Means More Jobs

Job Seekers Use EmploymentCrossing.com to Gain Access to Available Positions

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/10/2012 -- March was a good month for manufacturing jobs in the U.S. In fact, manufacturing in general is growing at a steady pace, with factories adding numerous jobs and increasing output up to 53.4% last month, according to the Institute for Supply Management.

In the past three months alone, manufacturers have added 100,000 jobs, adding a big boost to the economy, which is definitely needed right now. With these job gains occurring in conjunction with increased consumer activity, the economy is finally growing at a more desirable pace.

These increases mean now is the time to try to get a job. Many job seekers have given up looking due to a lack of available positions, but with this dramatic rise in manufacturing jobs, looking for work might get a bit easier now. Not as easy as it was before the recession, but definitely easier than in the past couple of years.

To take advantage of this, job seekers should make use of EmploymentCrossing.com, a site dedicated to collecting open job positions from all across the web. This dramatically increases a person's chances of finding positions to apply for because the site doesn't accept ads. Unlike other job sites, applicants won't be inundated with the exact same positions over and over again. Instead, they'll gain access to jobs that aren't well publicized, including those listed only on an employer's website.

By taking advantage of this resource, those new 100,000 manufacturing jobs ought to be ripe for the taking for studious applicants.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
employmentresearchinstitute
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Unemployment Reduction Not Possible Without Faster Growth

With Job Supply Down, Seekers Must Use Every Tool Available

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/05/2012 -- Despite positive indicators stating that the U.S. economy is growing, it may not currently be enough to allow for adequate job growth, according to Ben Bernanke, Federal Reserve Chairman. Even though businesses are hiring again, most likely to recover from previous steep job cuts, the decline in unemployment may only be temporary.

For further growth to happen, consumer demand needs to increase. This means banks need to lend money again more readily and people need to become active consumers again. Without that, unemployment is likely to increase again.

In the meantime, those looking for work should use every tool at their disposal to find the open positions that are out there right now. To do otherwise could mean missing out on the current increase in jobs and finding themselves unemployed for a lot longer.

The smart move would be to use EmploymentCrossing.com. This site acts as a network for hundreds of other job sites. By paying a small fee, job seekers gain access to job listings pulled from all over the net, including from individual employer's websites. This is a much wider range of jobs than most people would find on standard job search sites, so it increases a person's chances of finding employment.

Now is not the time to slack off on the job search. With more positions on the market than there have been in the past few years, it's time to take advantage of the slight economic improvement. It's hard to say if it will last.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
employmentresearchinstitute
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Young Workers Finally Finding Employment

Job Site EmploymentCrossing.com Makes Finding Positions Even Easier

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/22/2012 -- Since the start of the recession, young workers have been bearing the brunt of bad news. Fresh out of college and loaded with student loan debt, young people have had a terrible time finding employment. However, current job numbers are showing a positive change with positions filled by people aged 25 to 34 increasing by 116,000.

These stats from the Labor Department are promising and fall right in line with the work that EmploymentCrossing.com does. New positions for young people are on the rise, but the key to success is finding them. Unless a person has a connection to a business through a friend or relative it's a difficult slog to dig through job ads to find something to apply to.

EmploymentCrossing.com makes this process simple by allow young workers to view open positions from companies all over the U.S. These jobs are pulled from all the job sites and directly from employer websites, giving workers an inside look at available positions that might not be so widely publicized. Positions that aren't widely publicized get fewer applications, which provide workers with a greater chance of getting the job.

With the economy on an upswing, younger workers have reason to be optimistic. But finding work is still a slog, so it's advisable to use every tool at one's disposal. That includes sites like EmploymentCrossing.com, to give one's resume and applications a leg up on the competition.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
employmentresearchinstitute
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Despite Reduced Unemployment Rate, Job Site Offers Additional Opportunities

EmploymentCrossing.com Provides More Job Openings As Fewer Seek Benefits

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/09/2012 -- Some good news came from the economy last week as it was reported by the Labor Department that unemployment dropped to the lowest it's been in four years. And while this is positive for people looking for work as a whole, it's still advantageous to have leads or "ins" to find open positions. EmploymentCrossing.com offers precisely this kind of lead for those seeking a way to leap ahead of the job market.

The new job numbers indicate that 2,000 fewer people applied for unemployment aid last month than the previous month. Plus, January saw the largest increase in jobs in the past nine months. These are all hopeful signs for things to come. Still, the job market isn't easy, and unemployed (or underemployed) workers have to be competitive to find an open position. That's where EmploymentCrossing.com comes into play.

The site allows job seekers to gain access to a variety of open positions from companies all over the country in every industry imaginable. Job seekers have to pay a fee to get access to the position listings. Even so, this fee helps weed out bad applicants, helping employers find people that are perfectly suited for their positions. That means applicant's resumes are considered more seriously when they come through EmploymentCrossing.com, which is just the sort of advantage people need in this unstable economy.

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
employmentresearchinstitute
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

This is high from that of 9.1 percent last month. The overall jobless rate for veterans nationally stood at nearly 8 percent in October.

The job scenario for veterans in Ohio has been miserable post 9/11. Nearly 14.8 percent veterans were unemployed in the state in May. This signified about 8,000 of 54,000 Iraq and Afghanistan veterans in the work force. More than 80 employers operated stalls at the Veterans Job Fair which was held on Wednesday to help make a change for veterans. Over 400 veterans lined up for interviews.

There were 15,958 workers without jobs in Collier and about 30,858 in Lee in September. About 14 percent of the veterans are unemployed in Florida and nearly 12.1 percent in Philadelphia. Out of these 12.1 percent, the hardest-hit are males of 20 to 24 years of age. The major problem is with the veterans of the post 9/11, from which nearly 240,000 are jobless. According to the White House, about 86 companies have agreed to hire 25,000 veterans.

Unemployment Rate Decreasing Across the Nation, EmploymentCrossing Finds over 33,500 Jobs

According to Labor Department statistics, over 49,000 jobs have been cut in the past year by the States and localities 210,000.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 11/03/2011 -- After addition of jobs early in the recession by the federal government, it is now also cutting them.

According to Labor Department statistics, over 49,000 jobs have been cut in the past year by the States and localities 210,000. There are nearly 30,000 lesser federal workers than there were a year ago. This includes 5,300 Postal Service jobs that were canceled last month. Even though private-sector has increased 1.6 million jobs over the past one year, the nation's unemployment rate is down from its painfully high 9.1 percent. But the state, local and federal job losses have become a drag on efforts.

Albany has launched a new website which lists 42,370 job openings across the state. Nearly half of the jobs listed there are in New York City. It posts 2,726 jobs in Capital Region, 2,699 jobs in Buffalo, 2,228 jobs in Finger Lakes, 1,681 jobs in Hudson Valley and 924 jobs in Southern Tier.

The total unemployment rate in Massachusetts declined to 7.3 percent in September than that of 7.4 percent in August. Decrease in the job estimates show a loss of 2,300 jobs for a sum of 3,231,700 jobs across the state. Out of a total labor force of 3,479,200, nearly 255,100 were unemployed, according to the September estimates.

The government sector lost around 10,800 jobs mainly in K-12 and higher education due to budget cuts.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/25/2011 -- The state's economy lost 18,400 jobs in September, the first monthly loss since August 2010 and the most since early 2009. The officials are still confused whether this is a good or a bad news. This is because the unemployment rate has dropped to 9.1 percent last month from that of 9.3 percent in August.

The government sector lost around 10,800 jobs mainly in K-12 and higher education due to budget cuts. The restaurant industry suffered the most, among private sector, losing 3,700 jobs. The initial estimate of job losses in Seattle during September went back to the time of the Great Recession. The state economy, then, had lost 20,000 jobs a month.

The Seattle metropolitan area's unemployment rate fell to 8.6 percent from that of 8.9 percent in August. Only three sectors, including manufacturing, education & health service and professional & business service, showed job gains.

Among the sectors suffering job loss were leisure & hospitality losing 3,400 jobs, construction losing 1,800 jobs, information down by 1,100jobs, transportation, warehousing and utilities down by 900 jobs, wholesale trade losing 900 jobs, other services down by 500 jobs, financial activities with 200 jobs lost and retail trade losing 200 jobs.

In the past one year, a net gain of 27,300 jobs was seen in the state's economy; the private sector added 44,600 jobs, but a loss of 17,300 jobs was seen in the government sector. The state estimated nearly 317,594 people in Washington to be unemployed and seeking work in September.
The hires rate at 3.1 percent and separations rate at 3.0 percent, both, remained essentially unaffected over the month. The job openings rate has drifted up gradually since the end of the recession in June 2009.

Professional and business services added 48,000 jobs over the month and have grown by 897,000 since a recent low in September 2009. In September, computer systems design and management and technical consulting services kept up with adding jobs. Health care employment continued to expand in September, with an increase of 44,000 out of which 26,000 jobs were gained in ambulatory health care services and 13,000 in hospitals. As per the report of U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, one-fourth of the 100 biggest markets of U.S. have been burdened with jobless rates of 10 percent or higher since 2009.

Modesto and Stockton, CA, have the nation's most awful unemployment rates. Their unemployment rates reached double-digits in August 2008 and have remained above the 10 percent brink ever since. Hispanics in Connecticut had the third highest unemployment rate in the nation in 2010, with about 17 percent of the population unable to find a job. But Nevada and Rhode Island were the only two that had higher jobless totals among Hispanics.

South Florida is also among 25 major metropolitan areas with double-digit unemployment rates. Its unemployment rate in August 2009 reached to 10.9 percent; in August 2010 it jumped to 12.2 percent and in August 2011 fell to 11.2 percent. Baltimore has reached unemployment rates of 7.8 percent in August 2009, 8 percent in August 2010 and 7.9 percent in August this year. Its unemployment rate in August 2001 was 4.8 percent, way down from that this year.

Regardless of the springing up jobless rates in August 2011, both the statewide and Carson City rates are lower than those in August 2010 when unemployment in Nevada was 14.9 percent and the capital's was 13.6 percent.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/23/2011 -- There is no improvement seen in the employment rate of Nevada past five months. The unemployment rate of Nevada rose to13.4 percent in August, statewide, from that of 12.9 percent in July. This is the third consecutive month when jobless rates have increased.

Regardless of the springing up jobless rates in August 2011, both the statewide and Carson City rates are lower than those in August 2010 when unemployment in Nevada was 14.9 percent and the capital's was 13.6 percent. Even though there was also a decline in the unemployment rate in Churchill and Lyon, nearly 1,420 are still unemployed in Churchill. Lyon's unemployment rate is 17.3 percent, the worst in Nevada.

Carson City's unemployment rate is at 12.7 percent while Douglas County's rate continued to be at 14.1 percent. The ragged construction industry is one of the major contributors to the state's economic stalemate. Excluding the losses in construction industry in 2009, the employment base would have been 7 percent rather than 9 percent; and this year it would have grown one-third of 1 percent. The total number of workers in Carson City is 28,600, with some 3,600 searching for a job. In Reno-Sparks, 28,300 workers of the 216,700 are jobless, while in the Las Vegas, 135,700 of 952,700 workers are jobless.

Green Jobs Program Lags Pace to Create New Jobs, EmploymentCrossing Finds 6,000+ New Jobs

According to Energy Department, the loan guarantee program has created about 3,000 new, permanent jobs after giving out almost half the allotted amount. But it came under inspection after hearing about the collapse of Solyndra, a solar-panel maker.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/19/2011 -- Obama government's loan guarantee program worth $38.6 billion was designed to jump-start the nation's new technology industry by giving energy companies way in to low-cost, government-backed loans. It was expected to create or save 65,000 jobs but has been able to create only a few thousand jobs two years since its start.

According to Energy Department, the loan guarantee program has created about 3,000 new, permanent jobs after giving out almost half the allotted amount. But it came under inspection after hearing about the collapse of Solyndra, a solar-panel maker. The bankruptcy of the Solyndra in California is still a mystery about being a government blunder or a genuine scandal. The company laid off nearly 1,200 employees after filing bankruptcy on Sept. 6.

Even though President's efforts to create green jobs seem to have failed in keeping up a pace and the loan guarantee program seems to be a bit clumsy, the green-jobs program is still on track to meet its employment goals. It claims to have saved 33,000 jobs at Ford Motor Co. but the economists doubt the loan program actually saved those many jobs.

Just believing that green jobs are the solution to save the planet does not make it so. In fact you can't even say that green jobs are the key to saving the economy keeping in mind the current scenario.

EmploymentCrossing is breaking the myth that recession might persist in the next year. It has been able to track over 6,000 jobs in the green collar sector in US. It also lists 2,000+ jobs in information technology sector, while 800+ jobs in engineering and 600+ jobs in healthcare, blue collar, and managerial section are available in the state. But so far, the indicator has hardly moved unemployment down, and stayed close to or beyond an alarming recession-level 9 percent for 29 months. It was 9.1 percent in August, same as July with absolutely no net job gains during the month.

Round about 16 million Americans are unemployed, nearly 8 million of them for at least six months. 25 million are unemployed and underemployed which represent 16 percent of the adult population. The availability of one job for every four job seekers is making the situation even worse.

Referring to unexpected flaws in the financial system, forecasters of White House believe that unemployment will continue at around 9 percent well into the next year's election season, altering the conflict that it might drop to about 8.3 percent next year.

EmploymentCrossing is breaking the myth that recession might persist in the next year. It has been able to track over 250,000 jobs in US. It also lists 43,000 + jobs each in healthcare, 35,000 + managerial jobs while 34,000+ jobs in information technology sector and 26,000 + blue collar jobs are available in the state.
Employmentcrossing Break the Myth of Fear of Another Recession, Finds over 80,000 Jobs in US

Economists were expecting a growth of about 100,000 jobs and now they fear another recession might hop in. This has said to have brought the total employment level above by 1.52% from that of August 2010.

Economists were expecting a growth of about 100,000 jobs and now they fear another recession might hop in. There hasn't been much growth in the average jobs with only 72,000 jobs been added in the last three months.

ADP's statistics state that the service sector created 80,000 jobs while the goods sector gained 11,000 jobs. The manufacturing sector is down by 4,000 jobs in August. Small businesses with fewer than 50 employees gained 58,000 jobs in this month. Medium-sized firms between 50 and 499 employees added 30,000 jobs and large firms with more than 500 employees gained just 3,000 jobs.

The ADP report suggested that the labor market detained against a dejected backdrop in August. Many estimate that payroll employment declined in August because of deteriorating business sentiment, worries about the economic dispute in Washington and unsettling dangles in the stock market.

Large shift was seen in employment this July when 2,430 jobs were cut by state government and 710 jobs by local government. Unemployment rate stood at 13.4 percent in Jefferson County, Linn County's seasonally adjusted unemployment rate increased to 11.7 percent in July, and Deschutes County's unemployment rate was at 12.6 percent, even though 850 jobs were added in Deschutes County in July.

EmploymentCrossing Improves the US Labor Market, Finds over 500,000 Jobs

The US Labor Department said that the labor market is gradually improving with the decline in the application for unemployment aid.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/15/2011 -- It had been really hard to see improvement in the labor market in the last few months. The jobless rate, in July, was reported at 9.1 percent, in the United States.

The US Labor Department said that the labor market is gradually improving with the decline in the application for unemployment aid. The initial claims for jobless benefits were 400,000 in the week ending in July 30. It is said to have decreased by 1,000 from the previous week's revised figure according to the Labor Department.

According to the Labor Department's report in the week ended July 16, about 7.57 million people have received some kind of government benefit which is 75,192 down from the prior week. All this is pointing towards a marginal improvement in the labor market.

A senior US economist at UBS Securities LLC believes that claims declining are good sign directing that things probably aren't getting worse in the labor market.

The expectation of jobless rate being steady at 9.2 percent is because of the increase in nonfarm payrolls to 85,000 last month, according to a Reuters' survey.

EmploymentCrossing has been keeping a track of the unemployment rate and has found over 500,000 jobs in the last seven days. You get an option of search profession specific jobs as well as geographic specific jobs on EmploymentCrossing.
Texas Continues to Have a Low Unemployment Rate, Employmentcrossing Finds 72,000 Jobs in State

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/03/2011 -- Texas has been successful in avoiding the nationwide trend of job losses and a stagnant job market. The Lone Star State has succeeded in adding 262,000 jobs from June 2010 to June 2011.

This means that out of the 524,000 payroll gains made nationwide, half of them have been made in Texas. The figures are based on estimates made by the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and Bureau of Labor Statistics. Other, more conservative estimates put Texas's share of new jobs created at 30% of the national figure when taking into account the 24 states with a net growth of jobs.

The state has recorded the third highest rate of growth in payrolls, at 2.9%, since the recession officially ended. This is much higher than the anemic nationwide average of 0.4%

Economists believe that several factors are behind this including a pro-business environment based on low taxes and a burgeoning energy industry. Another important reason is also the fact that the state did not experience the housing bubble and crash witnessed in most other states.

The energy sector - natural gas, oil, and other mining activities resulted in 45,000 new jobs. Business and professional services accounted for 74,000 jobs, and education and healthcare added 91,000 jobs. The state has been trying to attract hi-tech businesses to relocate from all over the country, especially California. Texas has no personal income tax and Dallas and Houston are among the top 20 cities with a population of over a million in terms of housing affordability.

EmploymentCrossing, a job aggregator site, has seen job openings for Texas rise continuously for the past year as well. In July alone, the site has been able to locate 72,000 job openings in Texas. The sectors with the most openings are healthcare (15,000+), managerial (9,000+), information technology (11,000+), blue-collar (7,000+), and sales (6,000+).

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Mary Wilson
Employmentcrossing
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Mary Wilson
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

E-verify Bill Touted As Solution to Solve America's Unemployment Problem, Employmentcrossing Finds 390,000 Jobs

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/21/2011 -- Rep. Lamar Smith (R-Texas) has come up with a bill that he and his supporters are saying is a big step towards solving the nation's unemployment problem.

Lamar Smith's solution is in the bill that he has proposed - Legal Workforce Act (H.R. 2164). If the bill is passed it will make it mandatory for all American employers to use the E-Verify system on all current and new employees that they hire. As of now, the E-Verify system is optional for employers, but Smith sees the system as an opportunity to expunge all the illegal aliens in the workforce.

Smith says that with unemployment at 9% the jobs are scare and there are seven million illegal workers in the country. The jobs that these illegal workers are doing should go to legal workers.

E-Verify was created in 1996. It gives employers the option of electronically verifying that their new employees are legally authorized to work in the country. The program can quickly confirm 99.5% of the people who are legally eligible for work. It does this by checking the Social Security numbers of these employees against the ones stored in the databases of the Social Security Administration and Department of Homeland Security.

EmploymentCrossing, a job aggregator site, has been able to find over 389,000 jobs in the last seven days. The sectors with the most jobs on EmploymentCrossing are healthcare (68,000+), managerial (68,000+), information technology (47,000+), and retail (34,000+).

For more information on this press release visit: http://www.releasewire.com/press-releases/release-3.htm

Media Relations Contact

Roger Croft
Editorial Coordinator
EmploymentCrossing
Telephone: 626-243-1814
Email: Click to Email Roger Croft
Web: http://www.employmentcrossing.com/

Job Openings in U.S. Fall to 2.97 Million, EmploymentCrossing Finds 1.2 Million Job Openings Nationwide

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) --06/09/2011 -- Job openings fell in the U.S. for the first time in three months in April.

The total number of job openings fell by 151,000 and stood at 2.97 according to the Labor Department. This was a decrease of 4.8% from the revised figure of 3.12 million job openings for March.

This confirms what economists have been saying for some time now; that the private sector is again losing confidence in the economy. May was a disappointing month with only 54,000 net jobs created in the private sector.

Federal Reserve Chairman Bernanke has said that the economy is losing momentum and the central bank should maintain its policy of monetary stimulus to boost the slow and uneven recovery.

The biggest hit was taken by the professional and business services sector where openings fell by 91,000. In second place was the education and healthcare sector with 65,000 fewer openings. The construction industry also had 28,000 more openings.

The total number of jobs in the 12 months ending in April was 1.2 million net jobs, after factoring in hiring and separations. EmploymentCrossing, a job aggregator site, has been able to find over 1.2 million job openings nationwide this month.

The top five sectors with the most jobs on EmploymentCrossing are as follows:

• Healthcare - 280,000+
• Managerial -190,000+

ADP Predicts 38,000 New Jobs in May, Employmentcrossing Finds 146,000 Jobs

The ratio of job seekers for every job opening is 4.3 to 1. Job openings are also still running 35 percent below the pre-recession high. The total number of new jobs created since November has grown to 765,000. There are just under 139 million Americans in the labor force.

Pasadena, CA -- (SBWIRE) --06/06/2011 -- ADP's latest monthly jobs report reveals that the private nonfarm sector added a net total of only 38,000 new jobs in May.

Small and medium sized businesses kept adding jobs in substantial numbers. But it was layoffs from large businesses and manufacturing that brought down the total number. ADP's data came from its U.S. business clients, which averaged over 340,000 business employing 21 million Americans.

The total number of new jobs created since November has grown to 765,000. There are just under 139 million Americans in the labor force. But the participation rate has dropped to a low 64.2 percent. This is the lowest rate since 1984. When this factor is taken in account, the drop in the unemployment rate does not look that impressive.

The ratio of job seekers for every job opening is 4.3 to 1. Job openings are also still running 35 percent below the pre-recession high. Labor participation rates are falling across all major demographic groups. For men over the age of 20, it's now 74 percent compared to the peak of 89 percent in 1952.

The explanation given for this is that a lot of factory jobs which did not require a college education have disappeared. Some of the workers who have left the workforce are now getting by on government benefits, including being on disability. These people could previously work because of accommodations but now cannot find employers willing to do that. The share of women and teenagers looking for work has fallen too.
