The CDP is the only global disclosure system for companies, cities, states, and regions to manage their environmental impacts and for investors, purchasers, and policy makers to access environmental information for use in financial and policy decisions.

Fourstar personnel was trained on carbon disclosure best practices for implementation throughout its facility and supply chain and has filed its first report on the climate risk-management procedures it has in place. The goal is to measure, manage, and reduce or negate the company's carbon footprint and identify specific risks related to climate change to better analyze the business impacts and create strategy to mitigate. After receiving the report, the CDP assesses the responses, benchmarking them to best practices and delivers a score. Fourstar and CDP respondents are awaiting their scores, which should be released by the end of 2018. The training was administered by ISOS Group. It is part of a larger program enabling Fourstar to improve and build on sustainable supply chain initiatives, and was funded by a first-of its-kind Workforce Training Fund grant from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development. The grant program is administered by Commonwealth Corporation.

The disclosures ask participating organizations for data on their environmental performance as related to greenhouse gas emissions, water management, and climate change strategies. The CDP then transforms that data into detailed analysis on critical environmental risks, opportunities, and impacts. XL Hybrids uses energy storage solutions in its aftermarket hybrid-electric conversion kits for the automotive industry. This converts gasoline-dependent vehicles to hybrid gas/electric vehicles. XL Hybrids system improves the gas mileage for large fleets, and it also saves on vehicle brake maintenance costs because of its regenerative braking technology.

Last year, Fourstar Connections continued its resolve to make a difference in its local community with the formation of a social give back committee. On September 18th, 2014, Fourstar Connections' employees braved the cold weather, tightened up their shoelaces, and set off in the "Lace up 4 a Cure" walk. Fourstar's social give back committee designated the proceeds from this walk to go to the national veteran service organization, AMVETS, Hudson, MA Post 208. It will be using the money to provide holiday meals to 500 families, seniors, and veterans across Hudson area for both Thanksgiving and Christmas. As part of its Home Alone program, Fourstar Connections would also sponsor 20 Thanksgiving Turkeys and 20 Christmas Turkeys. In addition, Fourstar Connections' employees are going to deliver some meals to the homes to make the delivery process a bit smoother for AMVETS Post 208. The remaining money would be donated to the local food pantry.

Massachusetts-Based Manufacturing Company, Fourstar Connections, Amps Up its Green Energy Index with Solect.

Hudson, MA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 09/30/2014 -- Fourstar Connections, Inc., a solutions-based contract manufacturing company for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and other manufacturing companies, is participating in a solar project with the help of Solect, a leading commercial solar developer and installer in Massachusetts. Fourstar Connections recently signed a contract with Solect to install a 100 KW solar array on the roof at its main headquarters in Hudson, MA. This will supply most of its power requirements to run the entire manufacturing facility. The work began in September and will be completed and commissioned for use by November of 2014. In addition to the energy savings over time, Fourstar will be eligible for $80K-plus federal tax credit.
