Free Little Library Announced by Scott Tucker

Published author Scott Tucker announced his plans to create a free “Little Library” in his front yard. Home and Recreation to cover the library unveiling and interview Tucker.

Atlanta, GA -- (SBWIRE) -- 10/05/2015 -- Home and Recreation, a website for anybody interested in exercise and home decoration news, will feature the unveiling of Scott Tucker's new library in an upcoming article. The "Little Library" is expected to be unveiled this November in Atlanta, GA.

"This new idea is spreading, people are building these little libraries everywhere it's inspiring," says Home and Recreation contributor Bill Hasting. "And it is really going to make a difference in the neighborhood. Tucker is brilliant for trying this out in his own front yard, where he can make a change in the world that he can be witness to."

The library, which displays books within a clear plexiglass walled cabinet, will be open from 9am to 9pm 365 days a year. It is free to visit and free for anyone to come and take a book right from the library. Readers can leave a book if they choose but are not required to when taking a book.

"Books are rented on an honor system and not required to be returned in any specific amount of time," says Tucker. "This is really what messed me up about traditional libraries, the return time was always an unrealistic goal for me. When I set this library up I want people to know they can take any book and keep it for as long as they need it, and I know some won't come back but that's okay."

Tucker will be featured at the unveiling of his "Little Library" this November on the Home and Recreation blog. More information will be released on the location of the library with directions and contact information after the unveiling.

Scott Tucker Hosts Kid's Gardening Workshop

Botanical garden builder Scott Tucker will host a gardening workshop for kids next spring in Austin, TX. Home and Recreation will present the event live on their website with bonus small gardening DIY projects.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/21/2015 -- Home and Recreation, a website for wholesome healthy family and home maintenance, will live stream an upcoming kid's gardening workshop in Austin, TX. The workshop will be hosted by gardening expert Scott Tucker, and aims to educate children on how they can help in the upkeep of existing gardens.

"We love workshops like this where the children are spotlighted for education," says Home and Recreation contributor Bertie Chang. "It is important to include children in outdoors happenings of adults, it helps them build the foundation of an active lifestyle. To combat childhood boredom and obesity, workshops like this are crucial in boosting what parents are usually doing on their own."

Tucker has been gardening at home and professionally building botanical gardens for the past 15 years. He specializes in the care and growth of existing plants and local species of flowers, vines, and bushes.

"Through my professional gardening business I have been unintentionally teaching for 15 years," says Tucker. "Of course I did not realize for some time that I could hold workshops outside of the normal day to day work I do. This course for children will help with more than just the local backyard gardens, I think it will help get the whole family out of the house."

The kids gardening workshop will show parent's how to include their children above the age of five in the maintenance of backyard and greenhouse gardens. Participants of the workshop will be educated on safe garden tools, safe fertilizers, and safe plants for use with kids. Home and Recreation will stream the two hour long workshop without interruption on their website.

Scott Tucker Announces Clean Water Initiative

Environmental activist Scott Tucker announces a proposed clean water summer initiative. Home and Recreation will feature the initiative, share recent water cleanliness stats, and interview Tucker.

Dallas, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/08/2015 -- Home And Recreation, the website for wholesome activities and interesting household trends, will spotlight Scott Tucker's new "Clean Water Initiative." The initiative, which is proposed to take place this summer, will involve the residents of Olympia, WA.

"Tucker's announcement of a proposed city-wide clean water initiative is a great summer project," says Home and Recreation editor Jackie Hamilton. "The proposed public health ordinance effects metropolitan areas throughout the central region of Olympia. Tucker created the initiative to help residents adhere to clean water guidelines set by the federal government."

The "Clean Water Initiative" proposes that residents help monitor open sewers and rain runoff which pollutes the groundwater by contributing to the creation of bacteria in the water table. Sewers and runoff are a problem in during the warmer and drier weather of summer months. Tucker believes that the proposed initiative will prevent Olympia residents from dumping down the drain and will reduce bacteria levels around metropolitan areas.

"This is just another ground level grassroots project to help the environment," says Tucker. "There are not enough state and city staff who are responsible for monitoring unauthorized waste disposal and enforcing measures related to public safety and environmental concerns. I think the public can help monitor and control these situations on a volunteer basis, and that could really make a difference."

Tucker recommends that participants add their name to the registry of volunteer clean water monitors on his website but registration is not required to participate in the clean water project. Home and Recreation will feature Tucker's proposed initiative next month.

Scott Tucker Develops New Daycare Center

Home and Recreation will cover entrepreneur Scott Tucker's new daycare project in an upcoming article. Tucker's project aims to open this Summer in Olympia, Washington.

Round Rock, TX -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/29/2015 -- Contractor Scott Tucker will be developing a new innovative daycare facility in Olympia, WA. The new building will be equipped with advanced technology, the project fueled by Tucker's own high tech safety designs. The daycare will be fully integrated online, parents will have access to web-cams and photo updates on request.

"I'm surprised no one has thought of this before," says Albert Pike, corespondent for Home and Recreation. "I mean its hard enough to go to a 9-5 job day in and day out, much more so when you have young children and feel as if your missing out on the best years of their lives."

The daycare will be built by Scott Tucker with local contractors contributing work to developing the shell of the daycare. The security systems that will be installed have been designed by Tucker with technology manufactured in the United States exclusively.

"I have a vision of providing hard working parents with the peace of mind they deserve," says Tucker. "I'm a father myself, and the biggest worry for me when it came to child care was if my children were being treated the way I would treat them."

Tucker's new daycare center uses high quality resolution web-cams and gigabit internet connections to connect technology and family. The daycare center is scheduled to be open for business by the summer of 2015.

"I'm excited about this new project and happy to be working to cover a story that brings families together," says Pike. "I think Mr. Tucker's concept is innovative and brilliant. People will line up to enroll their kids in this new modern child care system. I mean, who wouldn't? I work from my office all day, and I miss my kids."

Scott Tucker will be interviewed by Home and Recreation in an upcoming article concerning the development. The website will publish photos of the development once the project is complete.

Roofing Specialist Scott Tucker Starts New Company

Roofing installation specialist Scott Tucker founds new contracting company. Home and Recreation is featuring the new company in an approaching entrepreneur showcase.

Dallas, TX -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/24/2015 -- Engineer and construction specialist Scott Tucker recently announced that he will open a contracting business specializing in roofing and gutters. The new business, "Roofing and Gutters, Inc", will be operating out of northern Illinois, details will be published through Home and Recreation.

"I've done all kind of home remodeling since I was a teenager," says Scott Tucker. "But the thing that I really am drawn to and have chose to specialize in is roofing and gutters. There have been some other guys I've worked with over the years and they thought it was the right time for a new roofer in our area."

The company has drawn interest prior to the Home and Recreation spotlight publication, and has received some inquiries for potential jobs that will start in coming weeks. Tucker will invest in marketing efforts to build the business quickly, rather than relying solely on the word of mouth advertising.

"Previous employers that he has done roof work for relied entirely on word of mouth to grow their businesses," says Christina Brown, staff writer at Home and Recreation. "Word of mouth is definitely an important part of being a contractor, but it leaves a lot of opportunities on the table. Tucker wants to get the word out there that He is an experienced roofer and that he runs a professional crew. Pretty soon they will have a website and a video channel and a presence on all of the typical social media outlets."

"Roofing and Gutters, Inc" will focus on roofing work and additionally the company will be open to bidding on other jobs. The flexibility of Tucker's new company will allow homeowners remodeling to use Tucker as their sole contractor if they prefer.

"At this point, my goal is not to get into general contracting," commented Scott Tucker. "But I do know many people in the industry and I am definitely willing to work with a homeowner if they feel most comfortable with me handling that side of things."

"Roofing and Gutters, Inc", the newly founded home remodeling company by Scott Tucker, will be featured in an upcoming Home and Recreation publication after the company officially begins business this spring.

Scott Tucker Goat Cheese Book Available Soon

Goat farmer and cheese maker Scott Tucker announces that his book "Got Goat Cheese", a manual of goat cheese making and goat rearing, will be available for purchase soon. Home and Recreation reviews the book with their announcement of it's publication details in an upcoming article.

Austin, TX -- (ReleaseWire) -- 04/24/2015 -- Farmer and cheese maker Scott Tucker from Scottsdale, AZ will publish a book he has written about his cheese making and farming practices. After sixteen years of goat herding and cheese making, Tucker will self-publishing a goat cheese making manual entitled "Got Goat Cheese".

"I first got the idea to write a book back when I was in my 20's and had more enthusiasm, but the timing just wasn't right until now," said Tucker. "I actually drafted a couple of chapters for the book about five years ago, and then last year I got started working in earnest. Definitely looking forward to the Home and Recreation review to see what they think."

"Got Goat Cheese" depicts through descriptions and diagrams, what it is like to be a goat herder and cheese maker. The book details how Tucker and other farmers obtain goats and begin building a herd, how they milk the goats, and how cheese production is done. Explanations of different goat breeds and their suitability for different cheese making situations are provided in a glossary.

"When you have the experience and you get in rhythm with the herd, goat herding is really very simple according to ST," says Brandy McNeil, staff researcher at Home and Recreation. "We think the world of goat herding and cheese making can seem extremely complex. I'm hoping that ST book gets a lot of people past the initial hurdles of becoming a successful goat herders and cheese makers."

The new book is written to be understood by people with a 7th grade reading level or above. The readability and simple instructions are combined with a FAQ section within the book to give readers the best chance for successful application. The book has an overall focus on sustainable farming to prevent over grazing in areas where it is an existing problem.

Tucker will self-publish the book and sell it to book stores across North and Central America. He plans to make the books by hand on his farm which will keep production limited to 50 books per week. Home and Recreation will publish their notes on ST's book and details of the books availability in an article coming next month.

Home and Recreation Blog will feature company’s launch of year-long wind energy pilot program.

Tacoma, WA -- (ReleaseWire) -- 01/19/2015 -- Red Cedar Services Preservation, a company already known for its use of renewable energy at their facility, will be featured by Home and Recreation Blog for its new, eco-friendly wind energy program. The company will launch a wind energy pilot program at their headquarters with the installation of one new wind turbine.

This new pilot program is expected to help the company further reduce its greenhouse gas emissions and raise awareness that renewable energy is not just for factories, but also for office buildings in urban settings. The company also expects to gather useful information from the program that will help further its quest to continue to develop more sustainable solutions.

"The use of renewable energy is essential to making a difference in the world and conducting business in a responsible way," said spokesman for Home and Recreation Blog Richard Donaldson. "Red Cedar Services Preservation's use of wind energy will inspire other businesses in the community and other cities to find new, sustainable solutions for reducing energy use."

The pilot program will begin in June 2015 and run through June 2016 builds on the company's efforts to reduce greenhouse gas and reduce carbon worldwide. The wind turbine will be located on the roof of the building of Red Cedar Services Preservation, and the output they generate will power a large portion of the company's facility.

"While we are not sure how much alternative energy this turbine will produce, we expect to have clear, consistent results within a year," said Jackie Davis, senior vice president of Red Cedar Services Preservation. "This pilot program will help provide us with useful information on ways we can develop more sustainable solutions for our facility."

The company is hopeful that the outcome of the pilot will be a clear picture of the number of computers, machines, and other basic office resources that can be powered by renewable energy.

"We are thrilled to be using more renewable energy not just in our factories but in our office buildings –it is another way we are doing what's right for our communities and the environment around us," added Davis. "As with all of the communities in which we do business, we work to make our communities great places to live and to work."
The participating homeowners will be able to compete for a variety of prizes and the winners will be featured on Home And Recreation as well as in the AMG Services' upcoming Best Homes catalog.

The prizes include trips to vacation hotspots, complete home makeovers, cash giveaways, and numerous furnishings and appliances. There will be no entry fee; however, the participants are required to have a piece of AMG furniture at home in order to be eligible.

AMG Services Releases a New Dance App

Home and Recreation to feature AMG Services newly published dance app, DanceDancePro.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/09/2014 -- HomeAndRecreation.org, a healthy living and home recreation blog, has published an article detailing a new dance app developed by home entertainment firm, AMG Services. The app is called Dance Dance Pro, and provides users with simple, memorable dance steps and also records the user's progress.

The app has been developed to help interested individuals learn new dance steps without using a human dance instructor. Dance Dance Pro will help the growing number of people whose daily schedules are so cramped that they do not have time to go to the gym for cardio exercises, dance, or aerobics. The app provides users with a more efficient and fun filled way to train and to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

"It doesn't take a genius to comprehend that high cost of living is putting so much pressure on ordinary citizens. Some combine two to three jobs in order to cope with the economic pressures. This lot doesn't get time to exercise yet many of them are in jobs that don't involve them physically," explains Tom Silva, HomeAndRecreation.org content developer. "This new app's approach is to allow this group to exercise in a fun way, through dance."

Millions of people across the globe die as a result of diseases associated with sedentary lives. While some have no sound reasons why they do not exercise, a majority are associated with pressures of work. Dance Dance Pro by AMG Services therefore makes it possible for one to easily exercise whether at home or at work during breaks.

HomeAndRecreation.org will publish a "how to" guide for Dance Dance Pro, along with screenshots of the app in action and an interview with AMG Services' Drew Dayton, who developed the app.

The app will be selling at a small fee of $20 and will be available for download on several online stores. AMG Services will also be providing users with unlimited support within 1 month after the release. The app also comes accompanied with a detailed yet easy to understand manual.

Home and Recreation Reviews New Grocery Store App from Programmer Scott Tucker

Scott Tucker's new app ‘OneStop' not only saves money on groceries, but also cuts time off your trip and keeps more gas in the car.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 05/12/2014 -- A recent article from Home And Recreation introduces and reviews the latest mobile app from Scott Tucker.

Editors of Home And Recreation say that coverage of the new app demonstrates the website's commitment to keeping readers up-to-date with the latest trends in technology in the home.

"Most other grocery apps have the coupons and list aspects covered, but this new one from Scott Tucker goes one step further," reported Jason Gibbons, senior editor of Home and Recreation. "This app correlates all available data based on your specifications. So you can find everything on your list at the cheapest price, at the store closest to wherever you happen to be at the moment."

Gibbons goes on, "This is something that will impact our readers greatly. They are constantly looking for ways to save time and money around the house, and this app does both those things. If this is any indication of Scott Tuckers work in the future, we hope to stay involved."

"By reserving a featured spot on Home and Recreation we hope to spread the word fast to the people most interested in this kind of product," says Tucker. They have people spending time on their site for the specific purpose to save time in the long run on larger projects, and I think the OneStop fits in perfectly with those goals."

So far both Home and Recreation and Scott Tucker are happy with each other work and see no reason why they wouldn't work together again. Tucker jokes, "Granted we both still exist when my next app is ready, I see us continuing our business relationship for the foreseeable future."

Scott Tucker is an independent computer programmer and app designer. The OneStop is his 3rd app to date and hits the online stores this Summer.

Margie Scott Tucker Book Club Applauded by Home and Rec

HomeAndRecreation.Org recognizes the community created by the "4th Tuesday Book Club," a reading group organized by Margie Scott Tucker. The group meets monthly at the oldest independent book store in Palo Alto.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 03/28/2014 -- HomeAndRecreation.org, a website focused on all aspects of American living, recently featured Margie Scott Tucker's "4th Tues Book Club," a community group of bibliophiles that meets at Books, Inc. to discuss modern works of fiction.

"I was so thrilled to learn more about Margie's '4th Tuesday Book Club,'" said Jonas Spacey, recreation editor for Home And Recreation. "This book club is a phenomenal example of a smart, community driven activity that more of us should be participating in. A group like this makes lives of everyone involved more fulfilling."

The club, which meets at 7 PM on the fourth Tuesday of every month at Books, Inc, is a long-running book club which discusses mostly fiction with some relevant non-fiction choices. Margie Scott Tucker, co-owner of Books, Inc, leads the discussion.

"We've read so many books over the years, and hopefully that has affected our members in great, unknowable ways," says Tucker. "Reading is a vital part of living, so our little club really meshes with Home And Recreation's mission of highlighting ways of making living better."

Home And Recreation profiles the club, Margie's loving influence, and the laid-back atmosphere that is sometimes missing from book clubs. Margie chooses the featured book, leads the discussion, and moderates the meeting, which ensures that no one person takes over the conversation, and to create a safe space for more shy readers to talk about the chosen book.

"A lot of book clubs fall victim to a pecking order, and don't encourage every reader to speak their mind," says Spacey. "That's why 4th Tuesday is so special. Well, that's only one of the reasons. The curated monthly choices are also pretty phenomenal – but what else would you expect from a bookstore owner? She has her ear to the ground, so it's easy for Margie to pick a winner every month."

Scott Tucker Brings Improv Comedy to the Streets of Detroit

Home and Recreation praises Scott Tucker for bringing his community together through comedy.

Deleware, OH -- (SBWIRE) -- 01/08/2014 -- New improv comedy classes by Scott Tucker were announced recently by lifestyle website Home and Recreation. The classes create opportunities for young adults interested in acting or stage work, and those who dream of using their creativity to create something positive for their community. According to Home and Recreation, Tucker's goal is to give back to a community that has been good to him and his family.

"His work as a high school teacher has shown him how easily kids can slip through the cracks on the street of Detroit," said Home and Recreation contributor Stanley Schwartz, "and he is determined to make a difference through the comedy improv classes."

At age 60, retired high school math teacher Scott Tucker finally decided to pursue a long time dream to become a teacher of comedy. Tucker draws upon the skills he developed as an instructor, as well as his years of experience in open mic nights at different comedy bars across town.

"Tucker's comedy is strange mixture of slapstick and surreal," said Stanley Schwartz of Home And Recreation. Schwartz commented further on Tucker's comedy style, "To be honest, not everyone at Home And Recreation completely gets Scott Tucker's comedy, but we all respect the positive impact these classes will have on the community, and that's why we're proud to feature him on the site."

The new improv classes will train future comedians and bring together those interested in organizing an improve troupe. Part of the lessons includes handling reaction time, slapstick, and coming up with great retorts. From his days at the high school where he taught, many of the kids have now grown up and remember him well. His classes accept anyone from 19 to 65 and his current list of comedy students includes his old school students and co-workers.

Currently, the improv classes are without a name, but will be named soon by the creative individuals supporting the endeavor.

According to Stanley Schwartz, an editor of Home and Recreation, "Scott Tucker is working with members of the classes to come up with a name that would represent the collective efforts of everyone while remaining true to its objective of giving back to the community."

Fees for the improv classes are being offered on a sliding scale to insure that no one is left out and as many people as possible will have a chance to participate.

New Children's Book by Author and Illustrator Scott Tucker

Family-oriented website Home And Recreation announces new book by Scott Tucker, entitled Chris And Piggy Make Pancakes.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/27/2013 -- The newest book by the creator of the Chris and Piggy children's book series was recently announced in the general interest family website Home and Recreation. The next book in the series, Christ and Piggy Make Pancakes, is scheduled for release in February.

Home and Recreation contributor Stanley Schwartz provided comment on the recently published article: "We are very proud to be the first media outlet announcing the upcoming Chris and Piggy book. We're happy that Scott Tucker recognizes that Home and Recreation is a great place to connect with his audience."

According to editors of Home and Recreation, the website appeals to many of the same people who are readers of Tucker's children's books. Stanley Schwartz cited feedback from Home and Recreation readers indicating that many of the site's fans are parents with young children.

"We serve a readership that is very interested in traditional family values and we publish many stories that aim to help people create a strong family oriented home," said Schwartz. "It makes sense that a large number of our readers are young married couples with young children in the home. Many of Home and Recreation's readers are already fans of Scott Tucker's previous Chris and Piggy books."

Home and Recreation contributor Stanley Schwartz stated that the site hopes to convert some of it's readers into new Scott Tucker fans.

"The Chris and Piggy series is a really great addition to any child's library, because the stories teach wholesome values that are missing from so much of today's entertainment. We strongly believe in the need for wholesome entertainment and we think that Scott Tucker absolutely delivers."

Scott Tucker is the author and illustrator responsible for bringing Chris and Piggy to the world. His third children's book, Chris and Piggy Make Pancakes, is scheduled for publication in February.

Scott Tucker's New Game Adored by Home and Recreation

Home And Recreation reviews and recommends table top adventure game Bible Times Family Fun by Scott Tucker.

Austin, TX -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/11/2013 -- A recent post by family themed website Home And Recreation introduces a new game by Scott Tucker entitled "Bible Times Family Fun". The game is introduced as an alternative to more traditional board games like Candyland and Monopoly.

"We want to encourage families to spend more time together and we think that playing games is a great way for families to bond," said Shelley Clarke, an editor for Home and Recreation.

According to Clarke, editors for Home and Recreation were attracted to Scott Tucker's new game because it break's out of the mold of what most people expect from tabletop games, while helping to teach traditional biblical values. The recent article describes Bible Times Family Fun as a role-playing adventure game with more structure than fantasy based role-playing games.

"There are a few problems with popular role-playing games that definitely keep them off the pages of Home And Recreation," said Shelley Clarke. "First, those games are very difficult for younger members of the family to understand and enjoy. Second, because those games have little structure, you can't guarantee that playing will help to reinforce any valuable lessons that parent's might have in mind."

The editors of Home And Recreation say that Scott Tucker avoided the problems associated with fantasy games by incorporating structural elements such as Bible trivia that keep role-playing on track and guide the adventure along so younger players can keep up without becoming confused.

Home And Recreation published the recent story with the hope that they could create interest in the upcoming free version of the Bible Times Family Fun to be released online. The free version will include all of the necessary materials for the game for download, allowing players to print them out and play for free with their friends and family.

The online materials for Scott Tucker's game will be available through a link to be published in an upcoming Home and Recreation article.

"We were happy to receive an early version of the game and get to test it out," stated Clarke, "It's a win-win-win scenario for us because Tucker gets some promotion for his work, our readers get to learn about a fun game, and we get readers coming back to the site to find out when and where they can get their free version of the game."
