Rockers Silent Theory's Latest Release Is Outta Their Heads

From a musically enthralled past, rock band Silent Theory emerged with an insanely “Outta My Head” approach to music, as heard on recordings, a co-headlined national tour and their upcoming album.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2014 -- Silent Theory have been anything but silent in their past six years of performing and recording together, an effort that has earned them both local and national fame over the years. Fans of Nickelback, Seether and Papa Roach will find that Silent Theory meshes well with their current bands of choice and may be a new favorite indie artist in the straightforward rock genre. Leading up to their upcoming album, this sound can be heard on both their debut album, Black Tie Affair, and their latest single, "Outta My Head."

While approaching the band with different backgrounds and musical influences, Silent Theory's four members shared the desire, passion and drive to be rocks stars from day one. Drummer Mitch Swanger, for example, describes his musical beginnings as picking up his first drumsticks when he was two years old and drumming away on his dad's knee, which eventually matured to an inescapable drive to drum every day, every moment he could, even to the point of missing out on partying with his friends. His band members, which includes his two brothers, have similar back stories as well.

It was these music-centric backgrounds that drove Silent Theory to form a band in 2008, about which Mitch says, "We were born to do this, and I think it is greatly reflected in both the lyrics and music we produce, as well as the 110% we give every single time we set foot on the stage. This is our life."

Together they have produced a hard rock sound that draws from their eclectic tastes in music, though they find similar influences from bands such as Led Zeppelin, Rush, Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Mudvayne and more. Inspired by everything from backstabbing ("Faded Memories") and depression ("Disintegrate") to bullying ("My Last Goodbye") and cutting loose and having a good time ("Straight for the Edge"), Silent Theory recorded their debut album, Black Tie Affair (2011). This ear-catching album of rocker anthems put them on the map both locally and nationally. They also released their latest single, "Outta My Head," in 2013, which is their most recent recording effort leading up to the second album they are currently working on.

In an interview with Silent Theory, Alternative Revolt described Black Tie Affair as "full of big rock, feel-good anthems that should make the hardest of rock critics smile while involuntarily moving their heads to the music." Mitch agreed, "That's exactly what we were going for. The goal of the album was to help people forget about life for awhile by listening to some old-fashioned rock 'n' roll." This album was also produced by Grammy-nominated producer Jason Zarnowski while Silent Theory were signed to Turkey Vulture Records.

Off this album, "Livin' the Dream" was featured on the quintessential music performance video game, Rock Band, and they also received more national media exposure when they performed this track live on MTV for an episode of MTV Cribs. Silent Theory co-headlined a national tour in support of this album, for which they were on the road for several months.

Before they released this album, Silent Theory had their first big break in 2009 when they played on the main stage at SXSW and shared the stage with headliner Metallica. Since, they've played with such national artists as Divide the Day, American Hitmen, Jet Black Stare, Smile Empty Soul and more. They also headlined the famed Los Angeles venue Whisky A Go-Go.

Silent Theory's music is available on iTunes, CD Baby and ReverbNation.

Silent Theory also has videos on their YouTube channel, including live performances of "Straight for the Edge" and "Silent Generation," both off Black Tie Affair, and a teaser video for their hit single "Outta My Head."

A Taste of Forbidden Fruit Gone Wild: From Church Bands to Rockabilly Soul

The Wild Fruit haven’t yet figured out how to “Slow It Down” in terms of their musical aspirations, and this latest single is featured in both a new music video and on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 09/24/2014 -- Whoever said that forbidden fruit tastes the sweetest was sure-as-hell right. Down-home southern rockabilly duo, The Wild Fruit, out of Dothan, AL, is on a streak following the release of their latest single and video for "Slow It Down," a preview of what's to come on their next album. The track is also featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Both drummer and vocalist Jamie Faye Harrell and guitarist and vocalist Brett Smith found their musical roots in listening to their hometown church band, which they said made them "go home and bang on boxes and garbage cans. It just looked like a really good time." The pair covet old country as a foundation of their band's sound, and artists like Elvis and Johnny Cash, who knew how to straddle the line between authentic country and straightforward rock 'n' roll, pulled out the rockabilly vibes that would become their signature sound. Listeners can also hear strokes of blues legend John Lee Hooker and even Hank Williams III, who both have made an impression on the scope of The Wild Fruit's musical outlook.

Nowadays, The Wild Fruit harness these musical influences to create a version of rockabilly soul that aims to rein in the attention of music fans far beyond their Alabama hometown. The White Stripes are their most common comparison. They have the same instrumentation as The White Stripes—though Jamie Faye's vocals hit the center stage much more than Meg White's—and Brett's crooning voice resembles Jack White's as well. But the most specific description of their sound that they've ever heard was "the southern fried version of The White Stripes mixed with The Black Keys." But as The White Stripes were from Detroit, The Wild Fruit bring in their own raw, dirty South vibes to distinguish themselves from other traditional rockabilly artists.

To propel this sound from Alabama music venues to the national and online stages, The Wild Fruit recorded a self-titled EP which is available both on iTunes and on physical CDs at their shows. This album has laid the foundation of their music careers, and they are now building upon those initial successes with their latest single, "Slow It Down." The track is accompanied by a new music video on YouTube, and it will be a part of the duo's forthcoming album.

"Slow It Down" is also featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Released at NXNE, the digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page for a limited time.

Fans can catch The Wild Fruit live at The District in Dothan on August 2nd, at Rocket the Market in Dothan on August 9th and at the Yard Party at the Wiregrass Museum of Art on August 22nd.

The Wild Fruit has released a number of videos on their YouTube channel, including a video for their latest single, "Slow It Down," their cover of "Fancy," which is the Bobby Gentry song that Reba McEntire made famous, and their track, "Urleen Share Your Turnip Greens."

High-Octane Reggae Rockers Dale and the ZDubs Announce Camp Barefoot Festival Dates

Riding the successes of their latest album release, Clear the Smoke, DC-based rock-reggae group Dale and the ZDubs are set to hit the summer festival circuit next month with two shows at Camp Barefoot Music Festival, August 21-23.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/11/2014 -- Who doesn't crave a jam in the summertime? DC Reggae Rockers, Dale and the ZDubs do. The reggae rockers are part of this year's lineup at Camp Barefoot Music and Arts Festival next month, August 21-23. If you've never heard of Camp Barefoot, strangely enough, that's a good thing. Hidden deep in the forests of Bartow, WV, Camp Barefoot hosts one of the live-tronica, jam, and funk scene's best kept secrets. With less than 3000 in attendance, the festival fosters a close-knit and intimate setting on far less than a square mile of land.

Festival-goers who think Phish or Blues Traveler pretty much defines improvisational post-hippie rock have much to learn. The jam band style has many variations, and one of the most popular is a kind of down-tempo reggae rock, beach-lifestyle philosophy that makes reggae-rockers Dale and the ZDubs' stand out for not living up to that cliche.

Musically they've been described as "reggae that fluctuates flawlessly between a mix of Rage Against The Machine, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Bradley Nowell. (Sublime)". Their live performances are anything but laid-back and known for igniting live frenzied crowd participation. Their invitation to perform at Camp Barefoot this year has firmly cemented the band as one of a few on a short list worthy to rep the rock reggae genre since Sublime introduced it in the early 90's.

Landing major producers and engineers for their records and opening for national touring acts are a just a couple of accomplishments for the young DC Band. Dale & The ZDubs have also headlined shows with Ballyhoo!, and BadFish,--basically becoming the go-to DC band to open for national touring jam and rock reggae acts.

Their latest and first full length release, "Clear The Smoke," was produced by Jim Ebert (Everclear, Cowboy Mouth) and engineered by Sean Russell (Damien Marley, Bruno Mars). The title of the album, "Clear The Smoke," seems rather fitting for this five-piece band, whose dance-happy music blends elements of reggae, rock, blues, pop and soul with lyrics that espouse a laissez-faire, don't give a ***k, pot-fueled philosophy. But don't be fooled. Dale and the ZDubs are just another laid-back reggae rock band. Lyrically they write about love and relationships-more emotional issues than just the lifestyle typically espoused in rock reggae.

Even though they ground their sound in reggae and feel-good summertime vibes, and add in dashes of down-tempo, there's plenty of hefty punches of psychedelic rock, funk and hard-hitting bass lines. It makes them a perfect fit for Camp Barefoot's lineup. This is a party band with an edge, the sort of act that spends most of its time playing in shore clubs along the Eastern Seaboard, but that probably would fit in just as easily at Warped tour as they would playing tourist-friendly beach clubs in Hawaii or Southern California.

There's a whole world of this stuff out there, from acoustic singer-songwriters like Jack Johnson to alternative rockers 311. If you like your reggae with a punch and listen to genre bending artists inspired by Sublime and The Red Hot Chili Peppers, then this is your soundtrack…and Dale and the ZDubs are the band to see when they play two sets at Camp Barefoot Music Festival on August 21st and 23rd.

See them on the side stage on Thursday, Aug.21 and on the main stage Saturday, Aug 23 @ 2pm.

Post-Punk Purveyors Flowers in Flames Light Up Hot New Digital Mixtape, Indie Anthems Vol. 7

Post-Punk/Psychedelic influenced Flowers in Flames reach new heights as their featured track "Chameleon" inflames WiFi PR Group’s digital mixtape, Indie Anthems Vol. 7, released at Pitchfork Music Festival and Lollapalooza.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 08/08/2014 -- Fans of The Cure, Joy Division, Interpol, Editors will find Flowers in Flames compelling and a surefire way to find a new favorite in an up-and-coming independent group. They've gained even more traction internationally than back at home, having their latest EP, Everything and Nothing, peak at No. 8 on the European alternative charts. Flowers in Flames' frontperson Cynthia Dimitroff says, "We have taken a Post-Punk foundation and given it a cutting edge sound for today."

Their latest accomplishment is being featured on WiFi PR Group's digital mixtape, Indie Anthems Vol. 7, released at both Pitchfork Music Festival and Lollapalooza.

As can be heard on this album and their recordings, guitarist David Chavez and vocalist/keyboardist/guitarist Cynthia Dimitroff have a powerful but playful give and take, with forceful guitarwork from Chavez and melodic theatricality from Dimitroff that give Flowers in Flames their engaging Post-Punk Neo-Psychedelic feel. This includes their self-titled debut album (2008), which was mixed by the band and Todd Tobias of Guided By Voices, and their 2012 EP, Everything and Nothing.

Music columnist Mike Mercer mentioned Flowers in Flames in his goth-noir encyclopedia, Music to Die For: The Last Great Guide to the Underground Scene, released in 2009. In a review, Mercer describes their [track] "Chameleon," as "a tense affair but with a resilient melodic heart" having "a darker sound, the air gathering timidly around the bravely burning vocal. Noisy succulence from a band embracing the post-punk spirit with just the right balance between tunes and a torrid tonic."

Over the years, Flowers in Flames have been featured in the press, including The Big Takeover magazine, Skyscraper magazine, Cleveland Plain Dealer and several other blogs and online review sites. Mike Perazzetti of Radio Casbah says, "While described as post-punk, and it certainly is that, I find strong undercurrents of numerous early punk influences as well as strong hints of dark 80s and goth mixed throughout."

Radiohead Fans Plead "I Want You" to Alt-Indie Rockers, ADMIRALS

Tulsa alt-indie rockers ADMIRALS let fans know, “I Want You,” with upcoming video release for the track, which is also featured on their latest album, Amidst the Blue, and WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/21/2014 -- True alt-rock fans can't forget hearing Radiohead's OK Computer for the first time. That album, and the passion for music that blossomed from it, was enough to form the foundation of an alt-indie rock project that defies genre stereotypes. ADMIRALS carved a niche for themselves and now attract a grounded cult-like following that extends far beyond their home city of Tulsa, OK. After a showcase at SXSW and performing over 250 shows in 30 states, they are currently working to garner still more fans with an upcoming video for their track, "I Want You," off their debut full-length album, Amidst the Blue. The song is also featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

As Radiohead was a match in the dark for this rock band's beginnings, it should come as no surprise that ADMIRALS channel Radiohead when crafting their experimental alt-indie rock vibe. Beyond the music itself, the lead singer's voice reverberates with a fervent yearning and expresses itself in the way of Thom Yorke, who compelled his fans to hang onto his every word and phrase—an obvious comparison for any long-time Radiohead fan. ADMIRALS could also easily be thought of next to artists such as The Killers, Phoenix and Nine Inch Nails, particularly when the keyboard lines are at their fuzziest.

Lyrically, in addition to the eminent philosophers he studied in college, guitarist and vocalist Colton Tucker has looked to such lyrical greats at Jim Morrison and Thom Yorke to produce a bevy of emotive songs that cover an expanse of human experiences. At one moment, he sings of the highs and turmoil of love both found and lost, and the next, he addresses the very nature of the human condition or provides thought-provoking social commentary on polarizing issues.

Following their self-titled debut EP, ADMIRALS spent the next two years writing and recording their latest album, Amidst the Blue, released in May, with the help of Grammy award-winning producer Trent Bell (Flaming Lips, Chainsaw Kittens, Starlight Mints, Chemical Brothers).

If it feels like ADMIRALS' music sounds familiar, it could be any of the several media placements they've arranged throughout their career. This doesn't just include licensed deals with MTV's Teen Mom 2 and Forever 21's 2012 holiday ad campaign, which included two national ad spots and in-store video features. ADMIRALS have also been featured in documentaries, such as Road to Recovery, a film dedicated to the recovery and training of a famous motocross rider following a near-fatal biking accident.

Off their latest recording, Amidst the Blue, ADMIRALS' track "I Want You" is at the forefront of their promotion efforts. The band is currently producing a video for the song, and it's also featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Released at NXNE, the digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page for a limited time.

ADMIRALS will perform live at College Bar in Stillwater, OK, on July 11th, at Center of the Universe Festival in Tulsa with Awolnation, Young the Giant and Cold War Kids on July 25th and with Taddy Porter in mid-August. In the past, they've shared the stage with several national acts, including Burning Hotels, Me Like Bees, Fresh and Only's, BRONCHO and Bear Hands.

To purchase music from ADMIRALS, fans can find it on Idol's website, the band's distributor, as well as various digital outlets, such as iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody, Zune Store and more. ADMIRALS have also made their music available through Spotify, Pandora, Bandcamp, Soundcloud and other online music streaming services. For hard copies, fans can find physical CDs in most Midwest and regional independent record stores throughout the greater Tulsa area.

Abandonment Issues Haven't Kept Roymackonkey from Aussie Success and Beyond

Armed with their debut album, Abandonment Issues, Roymackonkey exude their own fresh breed of rock through award-winning tracks and a featured track on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/21/2014 -- As a microphone for the lonely and brokenhearted, Roymackonkey, out of Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia, have produced a rock sound that is fierce at its core but has a soft edge that is more soulful than your typical Aussie power rockers. With flourishes of artists like Soundgarden, Tool, Faith No More and Powderfinger, Roymackonkey deliver a sizzling breed of rock 'n' roll that is as much of a powerhouse as it is a heartfelt passion project for its members.

Now, these four voracious band members are hungry for more fans as their debut album, Abandonment Issues, and featured compilation track on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 5 have launched their award-winning tracks abroad—from Aussie territory straight to the U.S.

To craft this internationally esteemed sound, Roymackonkey's members found themselves inspired by many other rock greats of the past, from Ozzy Osborne, Pantera, Megadeth and Faith No More to Tool, Soundgarden, Rage Against the Machine and Fugazi, to name a few. With this wide range of musical influences come the lyrical inspirations brought about by a stricken heart lamenting a failed relationship as well as the compelling insight into the perspectives of the lonely and brokenhearted. Wielding both these sounds and these emotions, Roymackonkey emerged with a sound that rebels against the oft stale traditions of rock 'n' roll.

Before dropping their latest recording, the group released their debut EP, Cassandra Never Lies (2008) and the single "Sleep Tonight" (2011). That single and their track, "Great Divide," went on to become two award-winning songs on their full-length debut, Abandonment Issues. "Great Divide" won first place in the 2013 Australian Songwriters Association Awards for best rock/indie category, and "Sleep Tonight," won best rock song for the NT Song of the Year Awards in 2012 in both the best rock song category and People's Choice. In addition, the band won the Northern Territory leg of the Jim Beam competition in 2004 and came in fourth place in the national finals held in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia.

To hear where the praise comes from, fans can find Abandonment Issues on Roymackonkey's Bandcamp page.

Roymackonkey also recently enjoyed having their award-winning track, "Great Divide," featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Released at Coachella, this digital mixtape was handed out 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp website for a limited time.

To catch Roymackonkey live, fans can check out some of their upcoming performances, including the After the Rain's EP Launch at Darwin Railways Sports & Social Club on July 27th. They are also planning a tour to promote their debut album that would take them along the East Coast of Australia in November from Brisbane down to Sydney and across to Melbourne, stopping at smaller towns along the way as well as some regional shows in between.

Digital copies of Roymackonkey's music are available on Bandcamp, iTunes, Tunecore and the band's website, and fans can purchase physical copies from Pure Pop Records in Melbourne. Their music can also be streamed on Spotify.

Fans can watch videos of Roymackonkey on their YouTube channel, including a live performance of their Indie Anthems featured track, "Great Divide," an official video for their award-winning track, "Sleep Tonight," and an acoustic performance on Balcony BTV Toronto of their track "Random Hearts."

Always Up for a Great Cause, Peter Tracy Makes a Difference with Folk Music

For Peter Tracy, folk music is an avenue for supporting the social issues that he believes in, and his soulful, often lighthearted music, albums and performances support hospices, environmental issues and beyond.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/17/2014 -- Protest and social issues are at the heart of solo artist Peter Tracy's music. A musician out of Boca Raton, FL, Peter plays guitar, vocals and harmonica to the tune of crucial issues that the world currently faces as a way to make his mark on the world using his own heartfelt music, dedicated to what matters.

A retired dot-com entrepreneur originally inspired to play music by the sounds of Elvis Presley, Peter has since turned to such musical influences as early rock 'n' roll and folk music with an emphasis on protest singers, such as Phil Ochs and Joan Baez, plus Jerry Lee Lewis and other early rock icons. As a result, his sound is most often compared to Bob Dylan, Neil Sedaka and Paul Anka.

Lyrically, Peter has been inspired primarily by folk musicians and early R&B artists, such as Leonard Cohen and James Taylor. The concepts of his albums are inspired by a number of different social issues, such as homelessness, hospices, special needs children, global warming and early rock 'n' roll.

Peter has released a number of albums over the years that combine these influences and inspirations in authentic and poetic ways. These include Halloween Elvis (2000), PH Tracy & The Animal Band (2006), PH Tracy's Favorite Elvis Tunes (2007), Loving Words (2008), Back to the 50's (2008), Help (2009), and PH Tracy Tunes (2011).

With all of his music, Peter entertains audiences with a 50s and 60s repertoire that encourages sing-along. He performs in the North in summers and the South in winters, particularly supporting hospices and senior living centers as well as homeless shelters. He is a hospice volunteer who plays bedside at various hospices, which contributes to the sense of fulfillment he seeks with his music career, rather than fame or money. His album, Loving Words, is donated for fundraising to hospices, and he coupled songs with poet Bob Jacobs' book of hospice poems, which was nominated for a Pulitzer Prize in 2008.

He's produced many other fundraising videos over the years as well, many of which have had a light-hearted take while still shedding light on topics such as aging and environmental issues like global warming. With his local activism, he appeals to both local environmental groups and hospice care organizations nationwide.

Peter has upcoming shows scheduled at Ballou's Wine Bar in Brandford, CT, and Colony Hotel in Delray Beach, FL.

Fans can purchase Peter's music at his live performances, and they can listen to his music on his website.

Videos of Peter performing are available on his YouTube channel, including videos for "Old Age Is Golden for Old People and Retirement," "Results of Global Warming and Flood in Florida" and a performance of "Timing Is Everything" on the porch of the historic Colony Hotel.

On the Verge of What's Next in Indie Music, WiFi PR Drops Indie Anthems Vol. 6 at NXNE

Released at NXNE last month, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, geared for the bigwigs of the music industry, seizes listeners with an exclusive party of indie artists pulled from all edges of musical styles and the world.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/17/2014 -- When music fans and industry tastemakers look for new artists to add to their rosters and playlists, they often turn to industry-curated indie compilations to find up-and-coming artists recognized by the media, record labels and PR companies. At NXNE last month, WiFi PR Group released its own digital mixtape, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, the latest installment in their respected indie series.

NXNE, held this year in venues throughout Toronto from June 13-22, is a 10-day and night festival that draws over 350,000 attendees from around the world. This year, NXNE celebrated its 20th anniversary, and its usual music lineup, comprised of both emerging artists and major-label headliners, was as varied and well-received as ever. Headliners included St. Vincent, Spoon, Juicy J, Sleigh Bells, Danny Brown, Spiritualized, Tune-Yards, Future Islands, Jacques Green, Glasser, Araabmusik and more, and WiFi PR was there to pass out copies of Indie Anthems Vol. 6 to industry experts and fans interested in this lineup.

While many of the 3,500 download cards of Indie Anthems Vol. 6 that WiFi PR handed out at NXNE were to festival attendees, most copies landed in the hands of the industry tastemakers who discover and license the types of bands and musicians that WiFi PR represents.

While most mixtapes, particularly for independent artists, are created for music fans alone, WiFi PR curated the Indie Anthems series to suit the attention and agendas of those who are on the pulse of what's next in the world of music. These are the people who shape the landscape of popular culture today and predict the trends that are coming next.

Between YouTube, music streaming services, blogs and other online music and media outlets, the amount of music available overwhelms music lovers and experts, and it can be difficult to wade through it all to find what moves and intrigues them most. Indie Anthems Vol. 6 introduces a variety of artists that just might be the sounds they've been looking for.

Indie Anthems Vol. 6 represents an array of genres. SXTN ("Got a Hold of Me"), reminiscent of N.E.R.D. and Pharrell, and Middle Eastern-influenced rapper Tru Bloo ("Tru Starz"), who is often compared to Lauryn Hill, for example, take starkly different perspectives of hip-hop. Armed with a piano, singer-songwriter Rashon Medlock ("Next to You"), whose music resembles John Legend's, contrasts to fellow singer-songwriter Sergio Rangel ("Love Loss") and his guitar, who sound more like Dave Matthews and Jason Mraz.

As for rock artists, Bodhisattva ("It Can't Get Any Better") offer a psychedelic rock bent reminiscent of Soundgarden meets Grateful Dead, and Awake At Last ("King of the World") takes a harder, more metal-like approach like The Used and My Chemical Romance. Silent Theory ("Outta My Head") follows the indie rock route while moving the listener with lyrics that demonstrate tortured and hell-bent emotions.

Fans of Fiona Apple and Portishead will love the soft, ambient pop duo The Controversy ("Two Voices"), while Nate Tao ("Sugar and Spice") shows a brighter, funkier side of pop akin to Bruno Mars and Maroon 5. Stephanie K ("Trouble") provides a sexy party track for fans of Britney Spears and Demi Lovato.

Modern-day lounge group Ari & The Alibis ("Bon Appetit") feature lambasting trombone lines and a sound a la Squirrel Nut Zippers, while the poppy, ukulele-wielding Dimestore Zombies ("San Juan Skyway"), who sound more like Neon Trees and Devo, front a lyrical personality that's all their own. Both groups aim to defy genre categorization.

All of these artists exemplify the breadth of scope for independently produced music today—much of which can be heard on this album.

Indie Anthems Vol. 6 is now available for download on its Bandcamp page, but only 1,500 download copies are available for a limited time.

WiFi PR will release more Indie Anthems additions in the future, including Indie Anthems Vol. 7, set to be released at Lollapalooza in August 2014. Past iterations of Indie Anthems can be found on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Award-winning, fire-starting vocalist and songwriter Stephanie K is currently recording her sultry sound in the studio for her debut album, and her track “Trouble” is set to appear on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/02/2014 -- Award-winning vocalist and songwriter. Hollywood looks and the title, "Best-Dressed People in Detroit" from Hour Detroit Magazine. Featured national anthem singer for Detroit Pistons and Detroit Tigers. An unbelievable amount of trouble.

It would appear that when it comes to musicianship and raw star power, Detroit's Stephanie K has it all.

Following up her luscious single, "Ice Cream" (2013), Stephanie is currently in the studio recording her hotly anticipated upcoming debut album that fans will be sweating over once it's dropped. Also in the works is her featured track, "Trouble," set to appear on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6. Both projects are slated to expand and deepen her wild fan base and get her name and music in front of an international audience.

Proud of her wild and quirky personality, Stephanie mixes and matches a slew of genres, such as pop, rock, soul and funk, to create a devilish and delicious sound that holds nothing back and has already garnered several awards, fans, appearances in festivals and big-name venues and opportunities to work with big-name producers. These include four-time Grammy winning producer Michael J. Powell, Trend Def (who have worked with the likes of Lady Gaga, Paris Hilton and Linkin Park) and multi-platinum producer Detail.

To craft this sexy, sensual sound, Stephanie draws influences from fellow girl power pop artists such as Amy Winehouse, Lady Gaga, Madonna and Mariah Carey as well as other infamous star profiles like Green Day, Ray Charles and Prince. In the end, listeners most often compare Stephanie K to Pink, Joss Stone, ZZ Ward, Britney Spears and Demi Lovato, so fans of these artists are in for a sultry surprise.

Already, Stephanie won numerous awards for both her vocal and songwriting abilities over the years. These awards have come from Billboard Music Nation, The International Songwriting Competition, The Great American Song Contest, The Los Angeles Music Awards, The Hollywood Music Awards, The International Singer/Songwriter Association, the Unsigned Only Competition, the International Unisong Contest, Show Me the Music Contest, The Indie Music Channel, The Nashville Songwriters Association International Song Contest Presented by CMT and The Music City Songwriting Competition, among others.

Some of these awards include first prize in the pop category of the 14th Annual Great American Song Contest for her track, "Story of a Broken Heart," and Pop Artist of the Year and Pop Song of the Year in 2013 at the 23rd Los Angeles Music Awards. She also swept the pop categories (song, record, artist) at the Indie Music Channel Awards in 2012.

In addition to her forthcoming album, Stephanie K will have her track, "Trouble," featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR hopes to put on the radar of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE in June, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Stephanie has an upcoming performance scheduled on August 15, at Campus Martius in Detroit, Mich. Past performances include numerous venues and national festivals, including the RedGorilla Musicfest at SXSW, the famed Whisky a Go-Go, House of Blues and the Palace of Auburn Hills.

Fans can purchase Stephanie's music at iTunes, Amazon, Rdio and CD Baby, and they should also watch for Stephanie's music to be featured in numerous film and television projects slated for this fall.

Wicked Saints Release a Spangled Single Featured on Upcoming Indie Compilation

Fusion band Wicked Saints have proudly released their latest single, “Spangled,” which will be featured on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 7.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/20/2014 -- Also dubbed, The Oxymorons of Rock, Los Angeles indie group Wicked Saints describe their music as, "Raw, organic music with no artificial sweeteners. It's good for you!" However, lead singer Paul McCarty follows that up with the truth, "Some is slightly toxic." This description is appropriate for a band that melds an eclectic mix of genres and style, such as Americana, folk-rock, swampy Louisiana grooves, reggae, pop and blues—all with a constant driving beat and a heartfelt mastery of their instruments. This sound will soon be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 7.

Wicked Saints is comprised of five members: Paul McCarty on lead vocals, guitar and harmonica, John Gannon on drums, cajon and harmony vocals, Robert Thomas on piano and accordion, Chad Watson on bass, Brent Michelle on harmony vocals and Josh Halpern on guitar. Together, they create a sound that has been influenced by Neil Young, The Band, Led Zeppelin, Mumford & Sons and Ryan Adams.

This carefully crafted sound comes out to sound something like Tom Petty, Neil Young and Wilco. They claim lyrical inspirations such as, "Paul will never have a successful relationship," "Todd Palin should leave his wife," "Be kind to blackbirds" and "Other and miscellaneous." As a result, their sound has been well-received by fans and critics alike, including a number of positive reviews for their second album, Don't Kill the Blackbird.

Another example of appreciation for Wicked Saints' music was when Peter DiStefano (Pomo for Pyros, Lance Herbstrong) took a liking to their first, self-titled recording and made a few remix versions of three songs on the album. He then also played guitar on three tracks of the band's second album.

To further spread the love and appreciation of their music, Wicked Saints will have their latest single, "Spangled," featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 7, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi PR hopes to put on the radar of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Chicago's Lollapalooze in August 2014, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

To catch Wicked Saints live, fans can check out Wicked Saints' upcoming performances at TopTune, a solo performance by Paul, at Busby's East in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 19th, at Coffee Gallery Backstage, opening for Chauncey Bowers, in Altadena on Thursday, June 26th and a Ranch Party at EB's Beer and Wine Bar at the Farmers Market in Los Angeles, on Saturday, July 26th. On September 7th, they will be featured in an interview with KPIG FM, followed up by a performance that evening at Bocci's Cellar in Santa Cruz.

Wicked Saints' music is available for streaming through Spotify and on Tunecube and Bandcamp players on their website. Their music can also be purchased through all Tunecore outlets, including iTunes, Amazon, Spotify, Deezer, Google Play, iHeartRadio, Rdio, Rhapsody, Xbox Music and more.

Fans can also check out videos from Wicked Saints on the band's YouTube channel. These include videos for "River of Fire," "Anything Could Happen" and "Which Way the Wind Blows."

With Iraqi Influences, Biggie Babylon Delivers ExtraSpecialGood Hip-Hop

With hip-hop that’s been dubbed “ExtraSpecialGood,” solo artist Biggie Babylon is prepared to promote his track “No Squares” via WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/20/2014 -- Ever heard of hip-hop that was ExtraSpecialGood? To create such revered music, Los Angeles solo artist Biggie Babylon blends his Iraqi roots with a variety of hip-hop influences, from Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and Snoop Dogg to Beastie Boys, Tupac and Dr. Dre. The resulting sound is one that is often compared to Rick Ross, Wiz Khalifa, Macklemore and two of his chief influences, Eminem and Notorious B.I.G. Music fans will be able to hear for themselves just how ExtraSpecialGood Biggie Babylon is when his track "No Squares" is featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Several albums and singles make up Biggie Babylon's current discography. Under his former artist name Entre-P, he released C.E.O.G. (2013), along with singles "Quit Leechin'," "Home Run Hitta," "Hookah Flows" and "Afterparty," all dropped in 2013. This album was dubbed "ExtraSpecialGood" by the San Diego City Beat, and out of 300 submissions, it was the only hip-hop album to receive that title.

His self-titled EP was produced by Travis Kr8ts, formerly Young Juve, who has worked with Jermaine Dupri at So So Def, Flo-Rida, Future, Dem Franchise Boys and more. Kr8ts also produced Biggie Babylon's single "No Squares" feat. Blush, and he is featured on the hooks for Biggie Babylon's singles, "Foreign Money" and "Smoke It."

Biggie Babylon has received plenty of local press coverage, including features in San Diego Reader and San Diego City Beat, in which writer Diana Death said:

"Hip-hop has become a tired parody of itself, but Alvin Shamoun, aka Biggie Babylon, makes the genre fresh and exciting again by telling it from the Iraqi-American perspective. He neither samples hits from the 1970s nor brags about bling; he composes his own tasty Middle Eastern-flavored riffs and spits out rhymes that don't make me feel embarrassed for him (hello, Kanye)."

His latest widespread coverage will come when his track "No Squares" feat. Blush is showcased on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR hopes to get on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE this weekend, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Early On, Sergio Rangel Already Distinguished Between Truth and Lies in Music

Singer-songwriter Sergio Rangel has emerged on the fast track to indie fame and is preparing to release his debut EP, On the Line of a Truth and a Lie, as well as having his track “Love Loss” appear on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/20/2014 -- The image of a singer-songwriter is that of a dimly lit coffee shop hosting an artist who pours his or her heart out into soulful tunes they croon one after the next. Solo vocalist and guitarist Sergio Rangel, hailing from Mobile, Ala., embodies just that and is making waves in the local singer-songwriter scene. He's been performing his own blend of pop and rock live only a short while, but already he is beginning to gain recognition from fans and venues outside of his city as he builds a foundation for his promising career in music. Sergio is now set to digitally release his debut EP, On the Line of a Truth and a Lie, this month, and his track, "Love Loss," will be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Sergio names several different musical influences that help him craft his standout sound, including Dave Matthews, Jason Mraz, John Mayer, Eric Clapton and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Drawing from these varied inspirations, Sergio creates a sound that is often deemed to have a coffee shop feel to it, similar to that of Nora Jones. But many people also compare his lyrics, vocals and guitar-playing to some of the very artists he channels, such as Dave Matthews, John Mayer and Jason Mraz.

What's interesting about Sergio's rise to local fame is that originally, he never intended to be a songwriter or musician. But he says that when he tried the two out, they just made sense for him, and he's refined his talents and pursued his career ever since. His music is inspired by the experiences of not just himself but of those he knows and others around him. This is in part because he actually finds it difficult to write personally about himself, and the combination ends up providing a number of captivating stories and emotions he conjures with his music. Even without knowing how he was going to make all this work, he dove in headfirst anyway, and he deems his greatest accomplishment to be getting this far in a short period of time.

In the near future, Sergio plans to continue to perform live at his regular venues and those who invite him to play, and he's also releasing his debut EP, On the Line of a Truth and a Lie, which will allow him to attract still more fans and venues' attentions. He will also begin recording his full-length album and planning a small tour—all of which he hopes to use to change music in his own way.

Also in Sergio's future, his track "Love Loss" will be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE this month, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Sergio's music is available online. Some of his songs can be found on his website, and others can be heard via videos on his YouTube page, such as videos for "Tell Me Why" and a cover of "Rocket Man," as done by Elton John and Jason Mraz.

Spin It to Win It: The Forty Nineteens Drop Hotly Anticipated New Album

With their new album, Spin It, in the hands of music fans, radio stations and the press worldwide, The Forty Nineteens have set themselves up for big career moves, including a featured track on WiFi PR Group’s compilation Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- Going by the numbers, The Forty Nineteens are already forming promising careers in the Temecula, Calif., national and international music scenes. Taking an engaging spin on the intersection between pop and rock, The Forty Nineteens are armed with their latest album, Spin It, and aim to continue ringing in the successes seen by the release of their debut album. They are also having one of their tracks featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

The group is comprised of four members: John Pozza on vocals and bass, Chris Whelton on guitar, Chuck Gorian on guitar and Nick Zeigler on drums and vocals. These four musicians have drawn influences from a wide range of artists to produce their particular pop-heavy alt-rock sound, including Graham Parker and the Rumour, the Byrds, The Cars, Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones and more. As a result, their music is most often compared to Elvis Costello, Tom Petty, The Psychedelic Furs, The Ramones and The Plimsouls.

The Forty Nineteens' debut album, No Expiration Date (2012), was a smash hit and received awards, positive press and international airplay, including more than 100 college and commercial stations in the U.S., Spain, UK, Belgium, Sweden, South America and Japan. Described as a blend of modernized 80s pop, garage rock and roots rock, this hit album made several best of 2012 lists. These include No. 19 in Oklahoma Lefty's Top 30 Albums of 2012, a place in the Top 20 albums of 2012 from The Little Lighthouse, No. 81 in Power Pop Action!'s Top 100 Albums of 2012 and No. 119 out of 1001 Records for Music Lovers' 2012 top albums list.

Following up that successful debut, The Forty Nineteens have released their latest recording, Spin It (2014), which builds on the beloved harmonies and soul of the first album. Both albums were produced in accordance with David Newton of The Might Lemon Drops fame, and this album is already beginning to cause rumbles in the press and blogs based throughout the world.

In addition to their latest album, The Forty Nineteens' next step toward worldwide fame will be when their track "Modern Romance" is featured on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 6. It is a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR hopes to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE in June 2014, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and another 1,500 download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Acclaimed Retro Pop Artist Susan Barth Lands Exciting Compilation Track

After enjoying numerous awards and media placements, Susan Barth will now have one of her tracks featured on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- "Retro-melodic pop with a sad side" is the poignant way pop artist Susan Barth depicts her acclaimed sound. Often described as Aimee Mann meets Abba meets The Beatles, Susan's sound has captivated fans and critics worldwide, and she has earned many awards and media placements over the years as a result. Up next for Susan is the inclusion of one of her tracks on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Susan is musically influenced by a wide range of artists, including first and foremost, The Beatles. As the story goes, Susan heard "She Loves You" on the radio as a small child, and that planted the seed that would bud into her current music career. The instant, easy melodies and rich harmonies are what drew her to music from the beginning, and at about 12 years old, she began trying to write music on her own. She's since written four albums that have done very well among her fans and critics, including This Thing, Romeo and the Beauty Queen (2001), Wonderland (2004) and Songs from the Suburbs (2009).

She also names a number of other artists as influences, such as Carol King, Aimee Mann, Rickie Lee Jones, The Cardigans, Tom Petty, the Eagles, Sheryl Crow and The Honeydogs. Lyrical inspirations include mostly observations and people-watching though she also draws from happiness, suffering, pain, social crises and interpersonal relationships to craft the songs that have earned her such acclaim. Through all these inspirations, influences, her musical abilities and career achievements, she says that her greatest accomplishment has been finding the perfect pop song within herself.

Susan's music has won numerous awards and placements on radio shows, such as the UK's Pulse Radio's Top 10 for six months, including three weeks at No. 1. Her track "Almost Did It" made it onto NPR radio as a pick of the week. As for awards, her songs have landed in the finals in many songwriting contests, including the UK Songwriting Contest, Billboard Songwriting Contest and Unisong Song Contest. She was named runner-up for Songwriter of the Year in 2006 and 2007 by DIY, one of the most respected indie artist networks, which also chose "Wonderland" as the 2005 runner-up for Album of the Year. Susan has earned seven ASCAP Songwriting Merit Awards, among several others.

In addition to her awards, Susan has also enjoyed many media placements over the years. She signed a large portion of her catalog to major licensing houses in Los Angeles and Florida, and after only four days, she had a song on a primetime TV show. Soon after was a stream of placements that included several of her songs. Hit WB show Smallville used her track "Feel Like a Man" to underscore an action scene, and another placement was on the Sounds Like Cafe compilation CD for the 2009 holidays in Australia.

One of Susan's songs will appear on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE later this month, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees and 1,500 more download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Susan's music is available on CD Baby, which includes major download companies like iTunes, Amazon and Rhapsody. Her music can also be streamed on SoundCloud and Pandora.

DJ Cavem Moetavation Sows the Roots of Eco Hip-Hop and Gets Green Thumbs Up from Oprah

Vegan Hip-Hop and Eco-conscious beat maker DJ Cavem Moetavation who has received a green thumbs up in the form of feature on Oprah.com will be featured on Vol.6 of the Indie Anthems MIxtape series with his track, "Hybrid Lex."

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- In addition to being an accomplished music artist, DJ Cavem Moetavation is quite the O.G.—organic gardener, that is. Hailing from Denver, DJ Cavem aims to "teach hip-hop history and how to grow greens—and not the ones you roll." Producing both beats and beets, this vegan chef and founder of "eco hip-hop" stands out as a unique addition to the hip-hop community, and he has been well-received by fans and celebrity supporters, including a feature a full page feature and endorsement from Oprah in her monthly magazine O, in last month's issue.

DJ Cavem has a long list of roles: organic gardener, midwife, vegan chef, urban calligraphy artist, educator and, of course, b-boy and emcee. Besides his many eco-centric interests, DJ Cavem explores these concepts with music that is inspired by James Brown, Public Enemy, DJ Premier, J Dilla and Dead Prez and that's often compared to Nas—the vegan version. He aims to not only make people bob their heads, but to think about his messages too.

DJ Cavem has a long discography from his past decade of a career: Moetavation (2005), The Chakraz (2007), Moetavation Deep Rokc (2008), Going Green Living Bling EP (2009), The Teacher's Lounge (2010), The Produce Section – The Seedling EP (2012) and The Produce Section – The Harvest (2012).

This hip-hop artist has already mingled on stage with a number of national artists in his genre: B.o.B. Wyclef Jean, Rakim, Mos Def, Ghostface Killa, Les Nubians, DJ Premier with DJ Vajra, Heiroglyphics, Gill Scott Heron, Public Enemy, Snoop Dogg (Snoop Lion) and Dead Prez at Fillmore Auditorium and Rock the Bells 2008.

As for other notable accomplishments, DJ Cavem's project, The Produce Section, divided into two EPs, The Seedling and The Harvest, is an award-winning curriculum that is currently used in schools and universities to introduce the subjects of organic gardening, agricultural sustainability, food localization, holistic health awareness and green job development. He also had the unique distinction of being not only a panelist but also a featured artist at the International Association of Culinary Professionals Conference in Chicago in 2014. He's also been featured in magazines, including Oprah Magazine in October 2013 and Yes! Magazine in February 2014.

His next project is called Eco-Twerk, which is another branch of eco-hip-hop, and it covers topics of deforestation, fracking, oil drilling, profit and consumption and the stripping of the Earth. He also is a proponent for riding a bike for health, which is a great way to battle the epidemic of obesity. He plans to release this album, Eco-Twerk, in spring 2015.

Also in spring 2015, DJ Cavem will release Damn Near Raw, what he deems to be the freshest cookbook ever. His DJ Cavem documentary is expected to premier at the Hollywood Film Festival in October 2014. In late summer 2014, he's planning on embarking on a YogaTrap tour and video series. His Indiegogo campaign for his album and curriculum, The Produce Section, runs through July 1, 2014.

In June this year, DJ Cavem will have his track "Hybrid Lex" featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international, independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE later this month, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Upcoming performances from DJ Cavem include a gig at Tedx Mile High on June 14th and Juneteenth Denver, also on June 14th.

Dime Store Zombies Feed off Their Fans' Love of Rock Music

Always hungry for more fans and media attention, rock band Dime Store Zombies released their self-titled debut album last year and will now have a featured track on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- Born from the hunger of zombies feeding off the talents of another Orange, Calif., band, Dime Store Zombies have unleashed their debut album on the world and are ready to eat the brains of their new fans and critics alike. Most recently, Dime Store Zombies appeared on the cover of Down the Line Magazine and had a feature interview inside. They now are prepared to have their track, "San Juan Skyway," featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Dime Store Zombies are comprised of four members in a traditional rock band structure: James Preston on vocals and keyboards, Mike Baker on drums, Chris Berry on guitar and Jack Luster on bass. Officially, as the story goes, SLIDE, the foursome's original band, was eaten by zombies, and thus the project Dime Store Zombies was born. They said in their recent interview that their band name was inspired by two of their song titles, "Political Zombie" and "Dime Store Queer," and was a nod to James' father, who was a CEO of J.J. Newberry's, one of the original dime stores. Now they say that name can be viewed as social commentary regarding consumerism and how it is played out in culture today.

As for their music, Dime Store Zombies name 60s psychedelic bands as their primary musical influences, and they often look to such concepts as spiritual questioning, the examination of one's faith, sexual orientation, socialism and the harm technology is doing to society for lyrical inspiration. As a result, their music is most often compared to the Ramones, Neon Trees, The B52s and Devo. To share this sound with the world and potential fans and critics, Dime Store Zombies released their self-titled debut album in September 2013.

Dime Store Zombie's track, "San Juan Skyway" will be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres who WiFi wants to get on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE this month, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Dime Store Zombies does not currently have any shows booked but plans to schedule some in the feature, and that information can be found on their website. In the past, Dime Store Zombies has enjoyed a number of successful performances, including performing on the main stage at the Orange County Pride Festival in August 2013.

Dime Store Zombies has their music available on Amazon, iTunes and CD Baby. Fans can also watch videos on the band's YouTube channel, including a video for "Political Zombie."

The Likes of Us Look to the Future with Their Latest Album, Time Traveler

Having recently released their latest album, Time Traveler, The Likes of Us also has one of their tracks featured on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- Burbank, Calif.'s jazz-pop-folk duo, The Likes of Us, has been building a name for themselves in the L.A. music scene for the past few years. From recently releasing their latest album, Time Traveler (2014), to creating their own music space to showcase their and other L.A. bands' efforts, the two musicians have worked hard to hone and establish their distinct sound. In addition to several licensing deals and a large social media following, the effort has resulted in their featured track on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

The Likes of Us is comprised of Benj Heard on guitar, piano and vocals and Katrina Stone on vocals, and they both love to mix the sounds of the 1940s with contemporary folk and pop. This type of music has been inspired by The Andrews Sisters, Jason Mraz, Ingrid Michaelson, Imagine Dragons and The Jud Conion Chorus. As they both contribute to the lyrics, which are often inspired by their own relationship as friends and bandmates, they look to Jason Reeves and Ryan Tedder, whose wordplay influences their own songwriting.

With all of these influences has come a unique sound that is often compared to other duos such as Lady Antebellum and The Civil Wars, mostly because they are an acoustic male-female duo. But ultimately, The Likes of Us feel that they are a bit more jazz-infused than those named acts, and they tend to focus on showcasing the vocal arrangements used in the 1940s and 1950s.

Following up their self-titled debut (2012), The Likes of Us have recently released their second recording effort, Time Traveler (2014). Coinciding with that release, The Likes of Us also have one of their tracks featured on WiFi PR Group's compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, which is a collection of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Recently released at Toronto's NXNE fest, the digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Another one of their biggest accomplishments together as a band is their idea for Maeweather Music, a venue and sound stage they built where they host parties and shoot videos. In this space, they have been able to perform their own music with various bands they enjoy. They worked to solve the problem of too many bands cramming into one show in venues throughout L.A. to create a space where they have more control over the type of experience they give themselves and their fans. The duo also held a listening party for their latest album there on June 12th, the album's official release day.

The Likes of Us have enjoyed several music licensing deals, such as regional commercials, nonprofit videos, wedding videos and short documentaries. They work with royalty-free licensing through a company called The Music Bed and have thus far received positive responses to their music, enough so that these endeavors funded their latest album.

The Likes of Us' music is available for free on their website as well as on iTunes. Their latest album is also available on Noisetrade.com, where fans can download the album for free. They will also be adding their music to streaming sites in the future.

Fans can check out videos from The Likes of Us on their YouTube page, including videos for "Stay," a Rihanna and Mikky Ekko cover, "As Long As You Love Me" and "Love Like This."

Thanai Unleashes an Ocean of New Music on Excited Fans and Critics

Singer-songwriter Thanai has come to the U.S. to continue developing his music career and has followed his dream to numerous awards and accolades, including a featured track on WiFi PR Group’s upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, and he’s releasing a new single, “Ocean,” and its video in September.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/18/2014 -- Since the age of 11, vocalist and acoustic guitarist Thanai Phornphong has been attached to his guitar and immersed himself in music ever since, building the foundation for the successful and award-winning music career he now enjoys. This summer, his song, "You Never Know," will be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, and he plans to release his latest single, "Ocean."

To create his rich, vibrant sound, Thanai draws musical influences from the classical guitarist John Williams as well as John Mayer, and his music is most often compared to Jack Johnson and Dave Matthews. He's often inspired by good movies, good and bad relationships, friendships and people in his life and other varied emotions he's gone through in life.

While he has released several albums over the years, his latest album, Summer Sky (2013), was his first English album, and before that, he had never written an English song in his life. These English songs, particularly "Let Me in Your Dream," were one of the reasons why he moved to Los Angeles to pursue his dream and music career.

Thanai has had a number of notable accomplishments over the years. His song "Let Me in Your Dream" was No. 1 on All Charts and Rock Charts on HomeGrownHits.com, and two songs, "Our Lies" and "Cigarettes" were chosen by listeners to be in the top 10 and ended up winning the Home Grown Hits for the Holiday Song Contest. The acoustic version of "You Never Know" was No. 1 on Pop Charts for HomeGrownHits.com and No. 2 on All Charts and was also one of four winners of the Kick-ASCAP-2 Song Contest.

His track "Forgive Me" received Honorable Mentions in the Singer-songwriter category by West Coast Songwriters International Song Contest 2013. The rock version of "Let Me in Your Dream" was selected by the International Songwriting Competition 2013 as a semi-finalist in three categories, Rock, Adult Album Alternative and Unsigned Only.
Indie Darlings Oh My Land out to Prove That Love Is Not Dead

This summer, indie rockers Oh My Land look forward to releasing their latest music video and their new album, Our Love Is Dead, and having their track, “Orion (Bloodstream)” featured on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/09/2014 -- With a compelling sound that is akin to artists such as Bright Eyes, Arcade Fire and MGMT, indie rock band Oh My Land, out of Paso Robles, Calif., have carved a niche in the local indie scene with several recordings and a slew of live performances in their home state. The group is now poised to release a video for their latest single "Orion (Bloodstream)," which will also be featured on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 6, and they will be releasing their next full-length album, Our Love Is Dead, this summer.

Oh My Land is made up of four members: Andrea Patton on vocals and synthesizer, Nolan Perry on bass guitar (and also the recording engineer), Patrick Patton on vocals and guitar and Rachel Coons on vocals and keyboards. Having three vocalists with three distinct timbres gives a richness and depth to their music that not many other indie bands can mimic.

The group looks to a number of different musical influences to create their full, gripping sound. These include Thrice, Arcade Fire, Cursive, The Flaming Lips, Bright Eyes, The Foo Fighters, Tilly and the Wall and Jenny Lewis. They draw lyrical inspiration from Dustin Kensrue, Connor Oberst, Tim Kasher, Robert Frost and William Blake, and they always find themselves inspired by the concept of love, whether that be romantic love, humanitarian love or the love of their God.

Oh My Land made their recording debut with their EP, If God Gave Me a Cannon… (2009), and a few years later, they released their debut full-length recording, The Mayflower Twins (2012). Last year, the group released their latest single, "The Captain's Song" (2013) to their growing number of fans, who now eagerly await Oh My Land's latest recording effort.

Slated for a June 2014 release, Our Love Is Dead will be Oh My Land's second full-length album. The record will follow up the unveiling of a new music video for their next single "Orion (Bloodstream)," which they just finished filming and will release in the near future.

"Orion (Bloodstream)" will also be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR hopes to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE in June, this digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

All of Oh My Land's music is available for free streaming and download on their website. Digital copies of their albums can also be purchased on iTunes, Amazon and CD Baby. The band prides themselves in being able to give away their music, including all of their singles, EPs and full length albums to date, to their fans for free and have always dedicated themselves to do so with each coming release.

Fans can also check out videos of Oh My Land on their YouTube channel, including an interview with Stock Magazine (shorter version), a live performance in Gilroy, Calif., and an acoustic performance at Boo Boo Records in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on Record Store Day.

Jam-Packed with Rock and Alt-Rock Talent, Indie Anthems Vol. 5 Nails the Genres

Indie Anthems Vol. 5 is packed with talented rock and alt-rock artists, all of which have contributed notable tracks to the latest installment of the Indie Anthems series.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2014 -- Rock music has been a prevalent genre since its inception, and no indie compilation would be complete without a handful of promising rock artists. WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 5 is no exception, and the album features several different rock and alt-rock groups for music fans' listening pleasure.

The Indie Anthems series always features a number of different genres on each album, but Vol. 5 was the most expansive release yet with 40 total artists—double the amount normally on an Indie Anthems record. Two genres that are well-represented are rock and alt-rock, fronted by such as artists as The Scorseses, Pharaohs Playground, Tiger & the Rogues, Analog Heart, Velshur and Roymackonkey.

Each of these artists contributed a track to WiFi PR Group's recent compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5, a massive collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music fans and industry tastemakers the world over. Released at Coachella, this digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and another 1,500 download copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Vol. 5 Bandcamp website.

The Scorseses are quite possibly the most colorful group on this list with a lineup that is packed with brass instrumentation and a sound that is as bright and high-energy as it is funky and danceable. Having recently released their debut full-length recording, Magnumopus (2013), this New Orleans-based band is often compared to such musicians as Bob Marley, Sublime and RX Bandits, a sound which can be heard on their featured track, "The Assembly Line."

After spending 3 Days in the Belly of a Whale (2014), Brisbane rock trio Pharaohs Playground emerged with a refined sound that celebrated everything old-school and analog about unfiltered alt-rock music, particularly on their featured song, "Soul Crusher." The group is most often compared to artists such as Black Crowes and Powderfinger, thought they are also inspired by musicians like ZZ Top, ACDC and Jimi Hendrix.

As Tiger & the Rogues continue to work on new material, one of their latest tracks, "Troublemaker," straight from the minds and hearts of this Sydney band, will be featured on the album. The band exudes a fresh take on rock with a woman's touch to create a sound that is both edgy and complementary to the essence of true rock 'n' roll.

On their track "Elephant Song," Boston natives Analog Heart share a taste of rock that sounds like Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Paramore and The Killers, and their lead singer's voice is often compared to Janis Joplin. The singer's powerful vocals ring out over the band's vibrant backing sound that propels rock 'n' roll and alt-rock into the 21st century and which is often compared to the Rolling Stones and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Hailing from Byron Bay, Australia, Velshur is a quartet of musicians who deliver a bright and funky groove that brings a catchy, danceable feel to the alt-rock genre. Having been inspired by musicians like Mahavishnu Orchestra and Jimi Hendrix, the group has a sound, particularly in their featured track "Spanish Sound," that resembles Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Dandy Warhols and The Strokes.

Roymackonkey use rock 'n' roll as a vehicle for speaking to the lonely and brokenhearted, producing a soulful sound with a yearning for passion and connection with the audience, harkening back to artists such as Soundgarden, Tool, Faith No More and Powderfinger. This Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia band combines a wide range of influences in their featured, award-winning track, "Great Divide."

These artists and many more can be heard on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 5, the latest in a series of albums that showcase quickly rising stars for the indie music world.

Feather Beds' Single "Walter" from Upcoming Debut Album Alights Upon Listeners' Ears

For a taste of ambience and indie pop fans can’t get enough of, the single “Walter” off Feather Beds’ debut album, The Skeletal System, is now featured on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 5.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2014 -- At times relaxed, atmospheric music that gently washes over listeners and other times upbeat, impassioned anthems that get them moving, Feather Beds has found a niche that connects with listeners on many different levels and suits a variety of musical moods. Music lovers can finally get a complete picture of this complex sound when his debut album, The Skeletal System, is released this coming fall. In the meantime, the album's first single, "Walter" will be released this summer following its inclusion on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 5 compilation, released in April.

Feather Beds is the ambient-meets-indie pop solo project of producer and instrumentalist Michael Orange. Michael's first inspiration to pursue music on his own was hearing Weezer's Blue Album at age 11 and learning all of the songs with his two childhood friends. The album was transformative for his young musical tastes, and it motivated him to create music that would reflect this passion and the background from which he came. His parents bought him his own drum set the next year, which was his first step into a future career in music.

Feather Beds looks to a number of different musical influences, ranging from My Bloody Valentine, The Smiths, Joy Division and Mogwai to The Beach Boys, Hot Chip, Roy Orbison, Kate Bush, Tool and Radiohead. With all of these influences and Michael's own musical background and tastes comes a sound that's often compared to Animal Collective, Sigur Ros, Liars, Four Tet, Panda Bear, Sleep Party People and Shlohmo, among others.

CatFromJapan describes Feather Beds' sound on "Walter," "Combining the ambient etherealism of what sounds like other-worldly field recordings with the DIY production style of someone like Shlohmo, Feather Beds have created a sound that is eerily close to CFJ favorite 'Oliver Wilde's' down-tempo brand of folky atmospherics." SoundSXP.com has its own take, saying, "Dublin's Feather Beds make the kind of music that probably soundtracks Animal Collective's dreams."

Slated for a summer 2014 release, "Walter" is the first single off Feather Beds' debut album, The Skeletal System, which will be released on Victoria Warehouse Records in fall 2014. On the album, Michael played everything and recorded and produced it himself. Victoria Warehouse is now taking the time to remix and master it, but the album is a true independent production in the making. It conveys a wide range of emotions, from dark humor, love and romanticism to anger, sadness and feeling lost.

Feather Beds' track "Walter" is featured on WiFi PR Group's Indie Anthems Vol. 5, a compilation of international independent talent spanning a wide range of genres who WiFi PR hopes to put on the radar of music lovers and industry movers and shakers alike. Recently released at Coachella in April, the digital mixtape was handed out on 3,500 downloads cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies are now available on the Indie Anthems Bandcamp website.

As a solo project, Feather Beds has not yet performed live, as his music was mostly focused on studio releases, but Michael has tours in Europe and North America planned for later this year and in 2015. In the past, he has toured with other bands, including The Star Department, Subplots and Autumn Owls, during which time he's played with such national artists as Low, Why?, James Vincent McMorrow and The Futureheads.

Fans can purchase physical copies (vinyl and CD) of Feather Beds' music from Victoria Warehouse Records. Digital copies are also available on iTunes and his Bandcamp page.

Scotty "Boy" McCoy Flaunts His Country Rock and California Cowgirls

Country rock artist Scotty “Boy” McCoy mixes his southern country background with roots rock to create the unrivaled sound heard in “California Cowgirls,” slated to be featured on WiFi PR Group’s Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2014 -- Los Angeles may not be known for its country rock stars, but Scotty "Boy" McCoy has embraced his southern roots to create his own niche in this buzzing music community. By blending both his Tennessee roots and his current West Coast locale, his single "California Cowgirls" was born, and the track will be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Scotty is a solo artist first and foremost, with vocals that croon over a full-blown country sound, complete with twangy guitar riffs and a southern rock foundation, that gets the ladies on the dance floor and the guys rockin'. He does perform with other country rock musicians. "Cryin'" Dave D'Amico wails on lead guitar, fronting those twangy lines that give country its essence, while Don Chamberlain holds the melody down on bass, with Martin Blasick filling in on occasion and who also plays guitar solos on a couple of album tracks.

Other occasional performers (though not on his albums) include, Dino "The Outlaw" DiBella on drums, who keeps the group in that laidback rhythm while always driving the music forward, and Craig "The Con Man" Carter adds his own flourishes to the country groove on keyboards.

This powerhouse singer and guitarist derives musical inspiration from both country and rock artists, including everyone from Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, AC/DC, Kiss, Jerry Lee Lewis and ZZ Top to B.B. King, Elvis, Travis Tritt, Journey and REO Speedwagon. Scott hones in on these influences to create a breed of country rock that is often compared to Montgomery Gentry, Travis Tritt, Kenny Chesney and ZZ Top.

Scotty pulls all of these sounds together in his debut album, Reclamation (2011), a 10-track album that features Scotty, his band and a number of other artists on various instruments, such as pedal steel guitar, fiddle, mandolin and harmonica as well as backup vocals on some tracks. This varied instrumentation adds a layer of depth to Scotty's music with different timbres that play on and enhances his unique country rock sound.

His latest 12-track album, Barbed Wire (2012), harks back to his days with the Barbed Wire Boys. The album began as the Barbed Wire Boys demo, but Scotty never felt that the recording was exactly what he wanted it to be. Little by little, he went through the album, replacing solos, fixing vocal parts and remixing songs until he finally produced something that he deemed to be more representative of his original vision for the CD. This album features his single "California Cowgirls," for which he's since made a video.

Scotty's single, "California Cowgirls," will also be featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR hopes to get on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE in June 2014, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Scotty's upcoming shows include a performance with the LA Lawyers Philharmonic Choir (of which he is a member) at Walt Disney Concert Hall and another performance at Boardner's in Hollywood.

Country music fans can purchase Scotty "Boy" McCoy's music from online distributors such as CD Baby, iTunes and Amazon, and physical copies can be picked up at Scotty's live performances.

Fans can find videos for Scotty on YouTube, including an official video for his single, "California Cowgirls."

Everyone Needs an Alibi: Multicultural Fusion Artists Ari and the Alibis Give You One

Infusing funk, jazz and samba with blues, soul and tango, Ari and the Alibis have created a memorable, ear-catching sound that will be showcased on WiFi PR Group’s compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Las Vegas, NV -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/06/2014 -- For having been together for less than a year, Sarasota, Fla., fusion group Ari and the Alibis have already begun making waves in their Tampa Bay indie music scene and carry the potential to spread their music far beyond state lines. Sporting a sound most often compared to Chicago, Tedeschi Trucks and Squirrel Nut Zippers, this musical outreach will begin when their track, "Bon Appetit," is featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6.

Depending on the speed of their songs, the genres Ari and the Alibis blend together can vary. Fast songs, for example, take on elements of funk, jazz and samba, creating a robust and vibrant sound that inspires dancing among the crowds. When they slow it down a notch, listeners are taken on a journey through blues, soul and even tango—all of which combine to create a unique, multicultural sound that they continue to develop as they wrap up their first year together. In fact, they've already amassed over a thousand fans in five cities, recorded their self-titled EP and landed a weekend at the world-famous House of Blues in Orlando.

The group is comprised of five talented members of the Sarasota music scene: Arielleh "Ari" McManus on vocals, Nicolaas Kraster on guitar, Gregg Voorhees on bass, John Walker on drums and James DaBone on trombone. Particularly notable are Ari's powerhouse voice, filled with emotion and strength that grips the listener from the very first note, as well as the standout performances of James' trombone playing, which the band says allows the faster songs to sound even more upbeat and the slower songs, even sadder and richer.

Ari and the Alibis are looking forward to having their track "Bon Appetit" featured on WiFi PR Group's upcoming compilation, Indie Anthems Vol. 6, a collection of international independent talent that WiFi PR wants to put on the radars of music lovers and industry tastemakers the world over. Set to be released at Toronto's NXNE in June 2014, the digital mixtape will be handed out on 3,500 download cards to festival attendees, and 1,500 more download copies will be made available via the Indie Anthems Bandcamp page.

Also in the future, Ari and the Alibis plan to book a tour through the Northeast in July and a brief European tour in October, and they will be recording their debut full-length album. The group also hopes to soon get on the rosters of major world jazz festivals.
