Gansevoort Management Group, Inc. Sold to CBM, CORP

Carlton Noel Campbell, the 29 year-old former owner of Gansevoort Management Group Inc., announces the sale of his business to the multi-million dollar
Commercial Building Maintenance Corporation.

Syosset, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/21/2014 -- The Commercial Building Maintenance Corporation (CBM, CORP) has acquired Gansevoort Management Group, Inc. from its founder, Carlton Noel Campbell. The twenty-nine year-old entrepreneur sold the company on October 9, 2013 and as part of the sale has contracted to fulfill a two year executive position with corporation. With Campbell at the helm, Gansevoort Management Group provided Fireguard personnel to monitor the premises of buildings in New York City when automatic fire monitoring systems were compromised. Gansevoort's Fireguards also monitored buildings when sprinkler systems were non-operable. To that end, Campbell and his then management group oversaw associates who were deemed certified personnel of the New York Fire Department. Now the young entrepreneur will bring his ample expertise in the fire safety business to CBM, CORP and oversee its optimal growth in the newly acquired Fireguard aspect of the already highly successful maintenance corporation.

Campbell founded the Gansevoort Management Group in 2009 out of sheer necessity. When his then construction company was in need of Fireguards for projects without fire command systems in operation he saw the dire need for reliable fire safety companies in the marketplace. Believing that he himself could bring expertise to the field he became a Fireguard and trained staff members for certification as well. This enterprising approach gave birth to the management group, New York's first Specializing Fireguard Company, now purchased by CBM. Campbell, now the Manager of the CBM, CORP Fireguard Division said of the acquisition, "We couldn't be more thrilled to join a corporation that has been in business providing reliable service for over 36 years. By joining our expertise to theirs we will take the New York Fireguard to a new level and provide even greater service to the people of this world-famous city. We're excited to expand our services as Fire Safety Directors to CBM, CORP. It's a natural extension of what we do best and our honor to now serve in this capacity."

CBM, CORP offers facility maintenance services to over 500 locations. Services include Landscaping, Security, Snow Removal, Window Cleaning, Pest Control and Interior Janitorial Service. The corporation has now extended their services to provide city required Fireguards for places of public assembly, hotels, film studios, construction sites, office buildings and marinas. Used when a sprinkler system is not installed or when fire protection systems are disabled or in repair the Fireguard's responsibility extends to making sure fire safety regulations are strictly adhered to at all times.

Fireguard Manager at CBM, CORP Speaks to the Increased Demand for Trained and Certified Fireguard Personnel

Carlton Noel Campbell, Fireguard Department Manager at CBM, CORP discusses New York City’s plans to increase fireguard personnel to safeguard the population.

Syosset, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 02/20/2014 -- Bringing expertise to the table Carlton Noel Campbell, Fireguard Department Manager at CBM, CORP speaks to the rising demand for certified fireguards in New York City. Having received inquires for needed personnel in New Jersey and Chicago as well New York Campbell discusses the burgeoning industry always in need of competent professionals. At the same time he sends out an invitation for trained and certified fireguards to seek employment with CBM, CORP, one of New York City's most requested maintenance companies.

Having recently sat with members of the city council and the mayor's office Campbell signals the workforce to the city's intention to increase safety guidelines and create jobs. "The officials I spoke with are concerned about some major incidents that have occurred due to a lack of safety regulations. There's no doubt that as our major cities grow, and our population rises, there will be an increased need for fire safety in our scaling towers. Thankfully the city government is aware that we need to increase our safety awareness and become receptive to changes in safety protocols."

Endeavoring to clear up the confusion surrounding exactly what it takes to become a fireguard Campbell tells those interested in becoming a fireguard professional that education is a rather simple matter. While the marketplace offers several agencies for fireguard education their services are unnecessarily costly especially when private citizens can essentially educate themselves. "In this economy, I want to help people who are interested in becoming a fireguard. They can rest assured, not only is training rather easy to do with the help of FDNY study guides available online but the test is fairly easy to pass. CMB, CORP has an informational blog to help them as well." Campbell adds.

Applicants can simply download the FDNY study guide, study at their own pace, and then quickly and inexpensively take the FDNY test to become a fireguard in as little as one week or two days. This bit of insight is the difference between spending weeks or days in an agency classroom having paid hundreds of dollars for an unnecessary program.

Once a person has studied for fireguard certification they can take the fireguard written test every Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 2:30 PM. The test is in a written and multiple choice format and a participant needs at least a 70% to pass. The Certificate of Fitness or Fireguard Card comes at a cost of $25 for testing the first time and $15 for renewals. Making it even easier to complete the process the test can be paid for via credit card, cash, money order, or personal check made payable to the New York City Fire Department.

Upon obtaining a Certificate of Fitness fireguards can seek employment at CBM, CORP. The major maintenance company is currently looking for 200 fireguards with any of the following certifications; F-01 Citywide Fireguard for Impairment, F-03 Indoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel, F-04 Outdoor Place of Assembly Safety Personnel, F-60 Fireguard For Torch Operations and Construction Sites and F-91 Fireguard For Hotel/Motel and Office Buildings. While all applicants will be listed in the order that CBM, CORP receives contact candidates can apply via email at noel@cbmcorp.net or phone at 516.364.0957. Fireguard applicants can obtain application forms at the Public Certification Unit, 1st floor, 9 Metro Tech Center, Brooklyn, NY 11201.
